The Thread archetype are all FIRE Machine-Types, and is designed to be played while you are at 1000 Life Points or less. Saying that, this already puts you at a huge disadvantage, but these cards are also made to be high return, so if you think these cards are OP'd, there's a reason for that. :D

Thread Heater
FIRE/Machine/*3/Effect
Once per turn, while your Life Points are 1000 or less, when this card attacks or is attacked by a face-up Attack Position monster, you can destroy that monster at the start of the Damage Step (without damage calculation).

Thread Scorcher
FIRE/Machine/*3/Effect
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set unless you have 1000 Life Points or less. You can discard 1 Level 3 monster to Special Summon this card. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 FIRE Machine-Type monster from your Graveyard.

Thread Torcher
FIRE/Machine/*3/Effect
When this card is Normal Summoned, change this card to Defense Position. Once per turn, while your Life Points are 1000 or less, you can Special Summon 1 "Thread" monster from your Graveyard. This card can only be used for the Exceed Summon of a "Thread" Exceed Monster.

When an effect is activated that would inflict damage and you have 1000 Life Points or less, negate that card's effect and destroy it.[/spoiler]

To answer to suggestion, may I point out the card "Phantom Hand" which allows you to remove your entire hand form play until the End Phase. That's not broken, and neither is Intentional Emergency. To answer your question, you gain LP equal to the differnce in both players' LP.

Ah, I get it now. Also, you seem to have all the words for heating up, except "scorcher"
