Phantom Roxas
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/04/14/new-nintendo-console-at-e3.aspx Call it Wii 2, Nintendo HD, or whatever, but assuming the next console will indeed be showcased at E3 this year, feel free to post speculation and hopes for the system. Since there are so many GameCube and Wii games I've missed out on, I'll keep an open eye on this, but I'll wait until E3.
Tentacruel
Awwwww damn! I'm not ready for the new system, I'm still having fun with my Wii! D: Also, I really hope this doesn't mean that Nintendo is selling out to the graphics whores. That article said that the Wii is a gimmick. >:[ I say HD is a gimmick! CoD can kiss my ass. Jacoby746
I couldn't care less about the HD part, but I do want to see more good 3rd party games. Mario is only fun for me for so long.

burnpsy
Microsoft doesn't plan on replacing the 360 for 3 or so more years, and the economy is currently terribad. What's Nintendo trying to pull by releasing 2 new systems within ~1.5 years of each other right now?
Aniri Wulf
Late 2012, huh? Imagine what else xbox and playstaton will have. And imagine the price. I mean, the 3ds cost more than the wii already, and the wii is dropping its price. also imagine the 3dwii price. this will be expensive.
Tentacruel
I hope they at least keep the motion stuff.
Cin
It's getting those vital big selling games, cater to that market too and you'll do well. Saying that the Wii didn't need to before, but with the PS3/XBox360 and their wireless controllers/motion detector, they need to pull something revolutionry out again, but I don't know if HD is it. Phantom Roxas
http://wii.ign.com/articles/116/1162045p1.html So far this will be known as "Project Cafe". Controller sounds interesting to say the least.
burnpsy
The controller sounds interesting. Though I was hoping for virtual reality. It looks like there's no backwards-compatability with the Wii if the controller's more like the Gamecube's.
Phantom Roxas
Actually, it's supposed to be backwards compatible with the Wii, so you can probably use the Wiimote with it just like how you can use GameCube controllers with the Wii. Aniri Wulf
dear god! the controller sounds pretty cool. Now I know this will be expensive. A game console that doubles as a portable? sounds great.

Nintendo made a s*** ton of money off of the DS Chain & the Wii. This new Console will sell like Cupcakes as well.

Dark
Like ADHD, I prefer that Nintendo does not sell out to graphics whores and that we stay as a nice community that makes arguably the best franchises in video gaming history. Controller sounds interesting, but I probably won't be picking up this console. I kind of planned on stopping home consoles after my Wii, because I doubt I'm going to actually play console video games in college. It sounds interesting, and I will watch this unveil avidly at the E3 this year. :]
Canadian
Wii is still perfectly fine, all Nintendo had to do was release a better online experience and pay sh*tloads of money to port over the Shooters that everybody wants. I haven't touched mine for over 8 months since all the games [s]what games???[/s] that are released are family oriented.
Twig
If I can afford it and it has good exclusives, I'm sold.
Aniri Wulf
Not all games are family oriented. Just find something you like, like black ops or the grudge or something. and maybe this new system will have less family oriented games and more fun, mature games. also, the system after this that'll come out will probably be 3d. so itll be called the 3dii or something. TAG
I love how one specific comment (I think it was by Game Informer) said that "Nintendo isn't playing around anymore."
Microsoft doesn't plan on replacing the 360 for 3 or so more years, and the economy is currently terribad. What's Nintendo trying to pull by releasing 2 new systems within ~1.5 years of each other right now?
Well, the Wii was released 2 years after the DS. This ain't much different.
It's true.
