Super Chaos Sonic
Ethan looked at Wendy and then looked back at the planks. Since they're like this...our best bet would not be to run. he thought with a sigh. Then he looked over at Wendy and then saw her nod slowly. Looks like she's got the same idea. Ethan thought with a smirk. He nodded back at Wendy and the two of them moved slowly across the planks. They now were at the middle of the way, just a few more steps were left. Come on, come on...we can make it. Just a little bit more. he thought, before looking at Wendy. He smiled a little and then nodded, trying to say, we can do this.
Master Red
Beau raised an eyebrow at Clover after she had completed her little sign language thing. "Okay that girl is crazy. Don't walk, run!? Does she want to fall!?" Beau thought to himself, shaking his head. He then then moved to the planks and started to walk slowly across them, he was sure as hell not going to run across and if he moved slowly she'd get the idea at least. He also doubted that she'd be stupid enough to actually try running if h moved slowly, he guessed she'd be annoyed with him though. Further ahead he saw a team who did really well, it was Colton and a girl with equally violet hair, the one that had glared at him several times during the maths class. "Maybe she's his sister?" Beau thought to himself, but as he started to sway from not focusing on 'walking the plank' he saved those thoughts for later. Naimo
Oh thank goodness he got my message, thought Clover as she too trod gingerly across the planks. The close distance between her and Beau was terrifying; she was going to kiss the back of his head if she got any closer. The one-foot string between them wasn't helping either, and thus, Clover was somewhat flinching as she followed Beau. Like the ladders, she figured it was best to move at the same time as him, and with the same foot - presently, she carefully placed her left foot forward in time with Beau's, whilst maintaining a suitable distance, before moving her right foot forward, again keeping a distance. As long as he didn't suddenly start toppling over, it looked likely that they would be across the planks within good time.
GreyCat
Lt. Boss really was crazy. Long narrow planks? He had a twisted sense of survival. Maybe he was just a military nut. It would explain his name. This would take planning. The other groups were busy waving hands like mad people, but he had a better idea. He grabbed Mark's hand and turned it palm up and started tracing letters on it. He waited a few minutes between words so Mark would know he finished a word. I- -G-O- -F-I-R-S-T- -C-A-N- -B-A-L-A-N-C-E- -O-N- -H-U-R-D-L-E -A-N- -E-D-G-E -S-O- U- -C-A-N- -C-L-I-M-B- He looked up at Mark and raised his eyebrows questioningly so see if he understood. fenrir
At best Mark had made out only a few words, I/FIRST/BALANCE/HURDLE/EDGE/CAN/CLIMB. If he didn't make out the I he would have gone first, most likely sending both of them falling to the nets below. Mark let Blair go first, in all honesty he wasn't that comfortable with heights anyways. Not that he had any fear of them persay, he just didn't want to fall to the ground and splatter like a bug on a windshield wiper. Even if there were nets there, the odd lingering feeling did not go away. It didn't help the Ludicolo from before was below them, Teeter Dancing. He made sure not to look for too long, or else he might get caught with the beat and fall. Survival might have been one of his more liked classed compared to others, but that didn't mean it was any easier.
GreyCat
Blair led the way unto the plank. His years of roaming in the forest and climbing trees was strangely paying off. And since he was smaller than Mark, not much shorter, but a bit smaller anyway, he was the better lead. Traveling sideways, he moved slowly towards the first hurdle. He took the step up, waited a bit for Mark to catch up and half hopped the the next side. He couldn't crouch, not without pulling Mark off balance and possibly off the planks, so he secured his own balance the best he could. He looked back at Mark, partially to avoid watching that annoying dancing Ludicolo (another stupid plant), and gave him an encouraging look, ready to shift back when he he got enough slack. Enrise
Coming from out of the school's main building after talking with one of the teachers, one who gave her an excused note, Mia looked around to see where he current teacher, Lt. Boss, would be. After a few minutes of searching, and seeing a dancing Ludicolo, she saw Lt. Boss around the premises and walked up to him, which another student remained next to him. Walking up to Lt. Boss, Mia presented the note given to her by one of the teachers, and stated with monotone, "Sorry I'm late for the class, one of my other teachers wished to speak to me, and I didn't realize the conversation would take up so much time. I have an excuse slip as proof." Waiting for Lt. Boss's response, Mia looked to the right of her and saw the student that apparently didn't have a partner for the assignment. "Great, partner work. My lucky day." was all that sarcastically ran through Mia's head at the given time.
.:Abarai Renji:.
Wendy and Ethan began to slowly walk along the long, thin planks. She had to admit; while she and Ethan were keeping in sync the best they could, it was pretty easy to walk over, although she got a bit frightened at first, she easily worked over it. She hoped they could finish this course, even with the hurdles and what not. They could not run, so how the heck would they be able to jump over them? It was simple logic; if you need to take a leap, you need speed. And speed was one thing they could not achieve right now, as they had to walk slowly. 'Is the teacher out of his mind?' Wendy thought as she and Ethan kept balancing.
Fallen Hero
Kevin was still at ground level staring up at the others trying to complete their task, it was kind of fun to just stand their watching the others suffer but his attention was soon move to a female voice he heard not too far away from him. As soon as he noticed that it was another female student that appeared quite late into the lesson, he know something must have permanently cursed him with bad luck. "Damn it...now I've got to do this dumb lesson. What's the point in the pairing anyway? It's not like people will work together so well...especially if they were trying to capture the ssame pokemon...someone has got to have their back stabbed." He spoke to himself trying to understand the whole point of the course. Kevin could tell from her facial expressions that she wasn't happy about the partner work either. "Guess there may still be a chance to get out of this lesson. Now...what was this girl's name?"
Super Chaos Sonic
This teacher has officially flipped his lid. Ethan thought to himself, thinking on how to handle the next obstacles. I mean how in Arceus' green Earth are we gonna leap over hurdles if we don't run. With these planks, its not very possible. He looked over at Wendy, who looked like she was thinking the exact same thing...great minds think alike. They finally stopped with the planks and saw the hurdles. He looked at Wendy and then looked back at the hurdles. Ethan's face then was a little brighter, as he finally figured out a plan. He waved his hands at Wendy and then did a few signs with his hands, trying to tell her to nice and slowly climb over the hurdles. He was 49% sure that this would work, the other 51%...they'd probably lose balance and fall onto the net. Hopefully, she'll get what I'm saying and we can do this. Ethan thought. Master Red
Beau was relieved that Clover at least walked slowly, perhaps she had realized that running wasn't very clever? It hadn't even occurred to Beau that he might've misinterpreted her message, but at least things was working out for them. "Why is she walking directly behind me though?" Bea thought to himself, glancing back for a second, but then quickly looking back so he could keep his balance a bit easier. "There's a perfectly good plank next to us that'll make it all a lot easier if she walks over too" he then thought, looking at the plank just a small leap away. They were approaching the first hurdle now, it was quite low so this one wouldn't be a problem. They would probably be able to climb it quite easily, at least Beau hoped so. ((OOC: @fallen: wth, it's survival what does pokémon catching has to do with that? And he doesnät get the point of a survival class!? O__o))
fenrir
Lt. Boss glared at the new girl, eying her permission slip. After giving it a brief look, he nodded. "Fine. Your partner is the quiet boy over there." He pointed towards Kevin and turned back to kids struggling above. It appeared that Sally had already fallen, along with her partner. They were attempting to climb back up but the chubby one appeared to be throwing a fit. Upon noticing Kevin and Mia, the Ludicolo approached them, ceasing his Teeter Dance momentarily. He handed them the wristband the others were wearing, and returned to his position. Mark followed Blair and when he had done his little half-hop, he proceeded to climb the hurdle. At this point Blair had enough slack to continue, meaning they had passed the first hurdle.
Enrise
"Great. Now I know exactly what I need to do for the lesson. Out-f*cking-standing." Mia thought as she glanced at the boy who stood a few feet away. She walked up to him, and started to question him. "Hey you, you know what we're doing?" She waiting for the response, she quickly pondered her eyes at the students who seemed to be struggling like crazy over the course. "So... I guess is where the meaning of "survival" class comes in. My my how lovely. Brings back memories." She quickly glanced at the scar, and looked back to hear the answer from the boy who stood there.
Naimo
Clover blushed slightly as she realised that there was a plank for her. She grabbed Beau on the shoulder, and then took a poised leap over; she landed with no mishap, and then let go so that they could continue. As the first hurdle came into sight, Clover's heart leapt slightly; she already disliked Survival, and to think that they would have to do jumps as well! She shot a cursorily glance at Beau, and suddenly felt more relieved that she was paired with him; she trusted him, that was for sure.
GreyCat
Blair grinned. It might take a while, but it looked like they would be able to pass this stage of the class easily enough. Even if Mark looked hesitant about doing the acts. He took Mark's hand again. -G-O-O-D- -M-O-V-I-N-G- -T-O- -N-E-X- It wasn't really necessary, but he figured that communication was one of the goals of the class. So he might have made a few spelling errors, but meh. He lead his partner on the next hurdle with a bit more confidence in their abilities and their chances of passing the test. Master Red
Beau stopped as they reached the ledge of the first plank and looked at clover making eye contact. He held up three fingers and then did a small jumping motion, trying to signal that they would both jump the ledge at three, hopefully she wouldn't misinterpret this because falling would be annoying. Beau was really hoping that talking would be allowed for later classes, because this was simply ridiculous! Surviving would require communication in his opinion, but he guessed that there were perks to being able to communicate without words too.
Naimo
Clover caught Beau's eye, and nodded. On the count of three, she would be jumping ... hopefully this was going to go down well ... One... She bent her knees slightly, ready to make that spring... Two... She flung her free arm, though not too violently; she wanted to build up a momentum in order to gain more power when leaping. If she had been alone, she was certain she could make it over ... but with Beau attached to her, however ... well, things were going to be a bit more trickier. THREE! In a timed leap that was hopefully in sync with Beau's, she sprung upwards. She felt her feet dig slightly as she leapt - but by goodness, that felt like a good leap - the other side was clearly in sight - it seemed that she would make it! - now, if Beau also looked like he was going to make it, then they were on a roll! If not ... well ... they were in trouble.
.:Abarai Renji:.
Wendy saw how she and Ethan were approaching their first hurdle, and gulped slightly for herself. She knew that they had to time it perfectly, or else they'd both fall down. She eyed over at Ethan, hoping he knew that they had to time it well. She held up her hand, showing three fingers to Ethan, meaning they'd jump at the count of three. She began counting while thinking for herself... 'One...' she began to crouch a bit, preparing to leap over the hurdle.
Super Chaos Sonic
G-Good...we've passed hurdle one... Ethan thought as he and Wendy passed the first hurdle. They moved towards the second hurdle and then began to gently and slowly climb over it. H-H-Here's two... he thought, as he climbed the second hurdle. He waited for Wendy with a smile. He couldn't believe that he was working so well with her to complete this, and he wasn't even shy about doing any of this. It was probably because he wasn't talking, just doing hand signals and nodding. If I was just talking...I'd probably be too afraid to even say anything to her... he thought with a small sigh. fenrir
This Blair guy seemed to be trustworthy enough, not to mention with the looks he was giving the Ludicolo, he seemed to have good taste in Pokémon. Repeating the process, Mark and Blair once again made it over another hurdle. Each hurdle seemed to get progressively tougher, whether the actual hurdle was larger or the distance to cover was greater. At the end of the planks were another pair of ladders leading to the floor above; from below they couldn't really make anything out. There seemed to be no planks or surfaces to walk across, and the next floor appeared to be much farther above. Upon reaching the next floor however, one noticed the thick ropes dangling from the roof. It was at this moment a resounding, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" could be heard throughout the stadium. GreyCat
"Awesome," Blair whispered, a smile spreding over his face in shock and awe. "How many classes do you get to play on a rope swing as class work?" Survival was definately topping the list of his favourite classes. Another Tarzan like yelled rolled over the clearing, then changed into a panicked scream and a pair of student plummeted to the ground below. Oh, wait, there was another net to catch them. That almost took the fun out of it. He grabbed Mark's hand again. -U- -T-A-K-E- -T-O-P- -I- -T-A-K- B-O-T-O-M-?- The question mark may not have been clear, but he hoped his questioning look would work just as well. The way he figure it, if they took one rope, if Mark was lower, it would be easier to manage the weight and control the swing.
fenrir
(OoC: I'm going to temp lift the post rule so we can give this thread a bit extra activity. :/) Mark gulped at the sight of the hanging ropes; this wasn't an easy task. At the bottom of the net was the boy from Math class; Colton. He apparently was crying lightly from the ordeal of the fall, and the girl he was partnered with was trying to comfort him. She looked awfully similar to him, almost like they were twi- ...OOOOOH. As Blair grabbed his hand, Mark wondered exactly how they were going to tackle this. Ideally they could snatch a rope besides the- -U- -T-A-K-E- -T-O-P- -I- -T-A-K- B-O-T-O-M-?- ... Well, Blair had pulled them through so far. --- Kevin raised an inquisitive eyebrow at the girl. He had hoped the teacher would forget about him, and he could sit and watch the students struggle at the silly task. Seriously, how was this survival? Trust? When is that ever used...? "You are...?", he asked.
Master Red
Luckily they acctually jumped somewhat in sync, Beau had been slightly behind but it wasn't anything that was all too disruptive and as such they actually made it over, albeit Beau landed a bit unsteadily on the other side. A number of other hurdles followed which the two of them made it across somewhat smoothly, it had been a close call once where Beau almost fell and dragged Clover down with him, but thankfully he'd managed to steady himself before such a thing had to occur. Another group of ladders stood before them once again and Beau groaned slightly. "Oh great, we're going even higher" he thought to himself, it wasn't that he was scared of heights, but he would very much like to be on his merry way back down towards the safety of the ground level where a fall wouldn't be awfully dangerous and/or painful. He sighed and looked over at Clover making a small upwards nod with his head to signal he was ready to go on upwards. ((OOC: good call fenrir, I was about to do the same otherwise))
GreyCat
Blair grinned and grabbed a rope. They could had possibly taken two side by side ropes, but he didn't like that concept. It one slipped, it would be harder to catch them as they fell. And controlling the swing of two ropes would be harder too. He looked down off the ledge. Quite the drop to the net below. Possibly screaming on the way down. Still cool. And awesome. And definitely manly. Very. He looked at the rope and the other side. It would take timing to land safely. Without one partner dragging the other down. But if they could stick the landing, they would pass. And he would have gooding through his first good class. He took his place and waited for Mark so they could push off.
Naimo
Clover was glad that they managed to land without falling into that pit. She too nodded back at Beau; as aforementioned several posts back, Clover had no difficulties going up the ladders. As long as she was in sync with his movements, it wasn't difficult at all. However, upon seeing the ropes, Clover audibly groaned. Oh great - so they would have to climb the ropes with a safety net that was a ridiculously long way down, and a string attaching her and Beau together. The ropes didn't seem to be too far apart, but even so, Clover was certain she was going to dislike this. A lot. She glanced at Beau, tried not to look too worried, and waited for his "I'm ready" signal.
