Wendy smiled and ate up her sandwiches, and went to the sink and washed her plate. "Oh geez! We should get going now! The class is starting soon, I think!" she said, noticing the watch on the kitchen wall, and she picked up Sparky, who was slightly confused by the sudden moving. "Sparky, we need to go now!" she called and placed him on her shoulder, taking her bag on her back. "Shi?" Shinx just said as Wendy was stressing her butt off. "Clover! C'mon, let's go!"

"NumNUM!" Flare, Matthew's ever hyperactive Numel, leapt onto his head, head butting him.
Matthew gave a half asleep groan. "Five more minutes mumm....." He muttered.
Flare, if she'd had the natural ability to do soi, would've facepalmed. "Num....el el numel..." With that, she walked up do his face and headbutted that instead.
"Flawe, gwet oyff..." Matthew muttered. Flare played her innocence card. "Num num EL!" She said.
Matthew, grudgingly, sat up, and rubbed his eyes of sleepy dust. He glanced at his alarm clock and swung his legs over the side of the bed. "Proper classes today Flare!" He said, no longer sleepy, and now excited. Flare nodded, and jumped down from the bed.
With a cheery smile, Matthew got dressed into his school clothes, and brushed his teeth. After that was done, he grinned at Flare. "Let's get some breakfast!"
Flare growled her aproval. "Num Num NUM!"
Matthew left his shared room, and walked to the kitchen area. Once there, he zapped himself some toast. Afterall, he'd slept in. He made three toasts; Two for him and one for Flare, who gobbled down the especially burnt one. Matthew smiled as he spread Vegemite and Butter on his toast. "It's gonna be a good day." He told Flare cheerfully. "Num Num NUM!" She squeaked.

Clover started, and she swept Chris off the table in her haste to chase after Wendy. She was used to picking him up at that speed anyway, and he never minded; in fact, being a bit more childish in his disposition, he found it fun.

Clover had no idea where their first lesson was situated, so she could only hope that Wendy knew. Chris was just happily resting under Clover's arm, pleased that he was going at a faster pace than he ever could have gone, even when rolling.

"You can appreciate his hoppip later, nice ryhorn, now let's run!" Beau spluttered out the words very rapidly in some kind of language soup, grabbed Mark by the arm and tugged on him while he started walking. Given he wasn't all that strong himself he wouldn't be able to drag the other boy, but he would get his point across at least. Sure it might be a bit rude to say that to this new kid but he should know they had to hurry a bit as well if they didn't want to show up late, he didn't know how their teacher felt about late arrivals but he didn't want to risk anything.

Mark tore himself from Beau's grasp, gave the boy a glare, then sped ahead. "Yeah, just follow me!"

So it turned out there was no Practical Battling for first period, it was Theoretical. The two were at the entrance of the gray barracks that served as the classroom for Theoretical battling. It was very... Dull, to say the least. Nothing interesting about it. The battlegrounds were nearby, and the two had run past them on their way to class. Mark had hoped the teacher was there and they had Practical Battling and not Theoretical, but he was disappointed by the empty fields.

Clover finally found their classroom, and when she stopped, she was heavily out of breath. It was only when she regained it that she even noticed Mark's presence. She vaguely recognised from him yesterday, but he was one of those people who she knew by face, and not name.

"Hi," she said with a straight face. "I remember you - I saw you yesterday when we were coming here. I'm Clover Addison, and this is Chris." She automatically held out her other hand, the one which was not responsible for clutching onto Chris.

"Spheal!" he added sanguinely.

After Wendy and Clover had run towards the grey barrack building that was for the Theoritical Battle class, and she gave both a sigh of relief, and a gasp to get some fresh air into her lungs. She stood up, still panting for awhile, and then noticed Clover walk up to the boy that stood outside the barracks. She remembered him too, but vaguely, like Clover; he was there when they entered the school.

"U-Ummm... hi." She said to Mark slowly. "I'm Wendy... a-and this is my Pokémon; Sparky." the Shinx leaped down from Wendy's head and in front of Mark, wagging its star-tipped tail. "SHi!" it called happily.

With Mark walking off in a hurry, with his friend...apparently, Ethan was slowly bring up the rear heading to Theoretical Battle class. Guess I really am bad at making friends... Ethan though as he kept thinking about Mark glaring at him. But his friend seemed a little bit more friendlier... Both him and Rai finally walked into the gray barrack building and saw a few of the other students that were enrolled in the school. But apparently, most of them were just talking to Mark. From Ethan's point of view, it looked like Mark was quite the popular kid here. Ethan just sat down and petted Rai's head. "Let's hope we can at least battle today, Rai." Ethan said with a small smile.

Rai smiled back, saying a small,"Rhy!!" Then he just laid there besides Ethan's feet and started dozing off.

"I guess you really are a lazy kind of Pokemon." Ethan smiled nervously as he scratched the back of his head.

"aww, no way! We're having theory!?" Beau exclaimed as him and Mark had made their way past the empty battle grounds. He had really hoped that they would get to battle today, mainly because he wanted to be able to interact with Princess a bit. Having her out of her pokéball when she wasn't in the water would be dangerous, he knew that. They stood around for a short while until Mark was approached by two girls, he really seemed to be memorable to everyone around here, then again, Beau had ended up in a different group for yesterday's introductions so that might've been it. There was no reason not to be friendly though.

"Hey, I'm Beau, I guess you wouldn't know me since I was in a different group yesterday" He said, with a friendly look on his face as he waved to the girls a bit and smiling. They too had pokémon that could be outside of their pokéballs at all times, jealousy...

Clover turned to Beau and smiled pleasantly at him. "Ah, OK. Well, anyway, like I said, I'm Clover, and this is Chris." Chris also smiled at Beau, and flapped his front flippers as a way of waving. Clover, having observed that Beau had no Pokemon with him, proceeded to enquire, "What about you? What type of Pokemon do you have?" As she spoke, she instinctivly let Chris down onto the ground, and he waddled not discomfortably over to Beau, although instead of stopping by his leg, he gently bumped into him.

"Spheal," he added, a slight sweatdrop rolling down his face. Clover sighed, but in an affectionate and lighthearted way. He was always bumping into things anyway.

Mark was about to shake hands with Clover, but as the girl retracted her spare hand to Beau, he rolled his eyes and turned to the other girl. "Hey, name's Mark. This is Sat." He flicked his head once and the Hoppip jumped up, doing a mid-air roll and floating lightly besides Mark's head. "Pip." It stated clearly, hovering just a few inches from her master's fuzzy head. Sat looked at Chris, then at Sparky. It's smile never seemed to waver, and the happy little Pokémon seemed to be amused by it's new friends. The Spheal in particular intrigued it, with it's ball form and similarly adorable face.

Beau let out a small squee as he saw the Spheal and pretty much got just as much of a ^3^ face as Chris himself while he petted it. "This is like the cutest thing I've ever seen!" He exclaimed and laughed a bit as petted Chris once more and then got up. "I have a Goldeen so I can't have her outside of her pokéball right now, I need a pool of water for that" He stated, sighing a little and then smiling weakly. He wished he could've had something that could at least be out with him more, maybe he could start swimming or something at the gym? It would be a good work out and it'd give him another opportunity to hang out with Princess.

"Spheal! Spheal!" Chris was clearly enjoying the attention, and Clover smiled. For some reason, she suddenly had a feeling that any more future Pokemon she was going to acquire wasn't going to be as cute as Chris, and it made his inevitable evolution even more nerve-wracking. She could force him to remain a Spheal forever, yes, but she didn't want to make him unhappy; if he wanted to evolve, she would let him, but at the cost of her own felicity.

Stop being so pessimistic, he's nowhere near his evolution yet, a voice snapped at her from the back of her mind. She shook her head slightly, and continued to watch Chris being happy with the attention he was recieving.

Wendy almost felt ignored by the other two, until Mark looked at her and talked with her. She smiled faintly and nodded at him. "O-Okay! Mark... that name is familiar..." She thought for awhile, hoping to think of who it was. Finally, she remembered. "Oh, I remember! Aren't you the student who was seen with the owner of this school? ARe you..." she gasped quickly. "His son?!" In the meantime, Sparky was up at Mark's legs, nuzzling him to greet him.

Beau jumped a bit at the sudden outburst from Wendy, accidentally tripping over Chris as he did so. His face turned pink quite rapidly from the embarrassment of falling over like that but he quickly got to his feet and brushed his clothes off from any dirt, while trying to regain his composure. "Hey Wendy, I'm Beau Fortescue, nice to meet you too" he said, after clearing his throat a bit and trying to look composed at least. It didn't work very well of course as his face still had a hint of pink to it. "Maybe we should go inside? Class is bound to start soon" He suggested, pointing to the door.

Norman sunk in from the back of the class after being left behind by the other two, panting heavily and darting his eyes around the room. He saw Mark and Beau a little bit in front of him; decided to join them, his Patrat still cuddled up in his arms. When he went to meet them, he accidentally bumped into another girl.

"Hey... I'm sorry for the event that just occured. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going... Guess I'll have to make it up to you." Norman remarked to the girl, Britney simply nodding along with him. "I'm Norman. Nice to make your acquaintance. Oh, and this is Britney." He looked down at the Pokémon cuddled up in his arms, which immediately chirped as he said it's name. "Patrat!"

At the mention of his dad, the once friendly atmosphere quickly turned into a hostile one. "What do you care?!" With that he opened the door quickly, pushing Sparky away. Sat dove for her master's hair and the boy slammed the door in front of Wendy and co. Inside the class however, all eyes were on his rather rude entrance. Students were already at their desks, most of them were either holding their Pokémon, hiding their Pokémon, or arguing with their Pokémon. Compared to the others, he seemed rather normal with Sat's very cheerful attitude. The teacher was at the front of the room in front of the board, and was apparently writing something. Mark decided to take advantage of the teacher being busy to claim his seat on the other side of the room, across the door. It seemed like a good place for him to get away from the others.

However, upon sitting down the boy next to him decided it would be a wise idea to move. Mark quickly wondered who would claim the seat next to him. In front of him was the boy with the Rhyhorn, he smiled inwardly. He tapped the boy's shoulder. "Hey, name's Mark. I'm the kid from before."

"Shi!" Sparky winced as he was pushed away, and Wendy was left in a state of shock. Why did he suddenly turn so hostile against her? She didn't know who his father was, she was just guessing. Was it really that bad? She shivered a bit, and tears threatened to break through her eyes. 'W-W-What did I do wrong? I-I was just... I was just t-trying t-to make a friend... b-but I... I-I guess I just-' she was interrupted by Norman bumping into her from behind, nudging her pretty roughly so she fell into the classroom, but didn't fall on her knees or anything like that. She stabilized herself and looked back at the boy.

"O-Oh! I-It's okay... I-I'm ok..." She said and wiped the slight sign of tears away from her eyes, a smile forcing upon her face. "I-I'm Wendy... nice to meet you, Norman."

Beau stared quite dumbfundedly at the whole scene and couldn't really find words for anything that had happened. He hadn't known that Mark was the chairman's son, and with the drama that had just occured it might've been for the better that he hadn't known. "Wha- Bu- ... Hey mark, wait up!" He called as he rushed after him into the classroom and quickly localized his room mate. He glared a bit at him and stomped over to him, standing by his chair and keeping up the glare for a while. "What's up with the sudden rudeness? Okay, sure, you might not have been super pleasant so far but you haven't actually been rude" He said in a voice that was a peculiar mixture of yelling and whispering, being something quite similar to a hiss.

"Are you okay, Wendy? Please, come and sit down with me. You don't look okay at all." Norman said, brushing past Wendy to take a seat within an empty seat beside him. He took his bag off of his shoulder and placed it on the floor, running through it to see if he had taken the correct equipment to the class. After completely finishing off his mental check list, he rested Britney down upon his lap and started to stroke her while he waited for Wendy. Britney just simply revelled in the attention her owner was giving her, before falling asleep yet again. "I seriously wonder how this year's going to go. It's only been a few days and already we're getting some drama. Great." The boy murmured to himself.

Wendy could not believe her ears; someone wanted to sit with her? It was too good to be true. She would of turned squeamish at the second if it wasn't class, so she just nodded and sat down near Norman, her Shinx curling up near her seat and taking a well-earned cat-nap. Wendy then brushed her blue hair out of her face and looked at Norman, smiling at him. "You're... really kind." she whispered to him, all while smiling. "I-I don't know what I said wrong to Mark, though... h-he just turned angry just like that..."

Mark sat back in his seat, rolling his eyes. "Well maybe if she wasn't su-"

"AHEM."

In front of Mark's desk was the battle teacher, Jenna, shooting glares at both of the boys. "I understand this is the first day of school and you're both excited but please, sit down. Class is starting now." As soon as she had appeared she left, heading towards the front of the room once more. On the board were several things, first of course, the teacher's name. More importantly, six words were on the center of the board.

Tackle / Growl

Scratch / Leer

Pound / Tail Whip

Ethan turned and then saw Mark sitting behind him. He scratched the back of his head and then said, a little softly, "Um...h-h-hi. Nice to...f-finally meet you, M-Mark." He knew he sounded like an idiot, but he couldn't help the fact that he was a shy person...he kinda felt like it was a curse. "I'm...E-Ethan Walker...and the sleeping R-Rhyhorn at my feet is Rai." He nudged Rai with his foot to wake him up. "Rai...wake up, please." he said softly.

Rai slowly woke up and yawned. He looked over at Mark and then stood up with a smile. "Rhy!" he said.

"I-I guess Rai likes you..." Ethan said with a nervous smile.

Ethan then saw Jenna, the teacher, at Mark's desk and began to somewhat scold them. He lowered his head and said,"S-Sorry...i-it won't...happen again..."

Beau jumped at the sudden fake-cough from beside him and almost fell down on the chair behind him (luckily he didn't have to fall to the ground yet again) and he turned bright red as he saw the teacher of the class, Jenna, glaring a bit at them. He mumbled a "sorry ma'am" while quickly turning his attention towards the blackboard, reading the words silently to himself and trying to figure out what they were going to do for class today.

"I'm not really that kind. I guess people just don't tend to treat you well... And besides, I don't know what you said to Mark either. Maybe it was just that you brought a touchy subject up or something of the sort." Norman replied to the blue haired girl in a whispering state, not wanting to get caught by the teacher like the other boys before him. He continued to pet his Patrat with his left hand, who was soundly sleeping on his lap, while he decided to take the opportunity of making a mental checklist of everything the teacher was writing on the board with quite a great interest.
