Pokemon: Keys of Anima! [IC/Accepting via OOC/Started]

Overhearing Kyle's Pokedex, Emma decided to put her own back, and continue the battle with this red monkey. Nonetheless, it sounded like it would be a Fire-type, which she loathed because XmasTree was very weak against Fire-types. Emma signed XmasTree to start using Natural Gift. XmasTree whipped out an Apicot Berry, but before it could use it...

[color="#FF0000"]"Pansear, Incinerate that berry, quickly!"[/color] Chili commanded

[color="#F4A460"]"Seeeaaaaarrrr!"[/color] Pansear shot a small flame straight at the berry. It immediately caught fire, and XmasTree's hand got caught in the blaze as well. It wasn't hurt to badly, but Emma already had to resort to Plan B.

"Ok. I think we're ready for that gym, now that I had to train my extra Pokemon, Panpour." Aaron said while stretching out. "Ok so lets get to the Pokemon Center real quick, get you guys refreshed, and go battle Cilan and his brothers." Aaron took out 2 Pokeballs and said, "Panpour and Puppy, return." then a red beam shot out of the balls and engulfed Puppy and Panpour in red then they went into the balls. "Lets get going Munchlax." [b]"Munch!"[/b]

After a quick visit to the Pokemon Center to heal Aaron's Pokemon, and a few purchases, Aaron and Munchlax walked over to the Gym. Aaron stopped on the steps of the entrance and looked at Munchlax. "Are you ready?" [b]"Munch."[/b] Munchlax said nodding. "Alright, let's go." Aaron opened the door and the very first thing he heard was, [b]"Pansear, Incinerate that berry, quickly!"[/b] "WHA?! Someone is battling before me?! How dare Cilan do this to me!" Aaron ran in and went around the corner to see a Pokemon battle already in progress. With an irritated look on Aaron's face, he walked up to the rail of the stands to see that the swimmer from before, Zach, and the Snover girl, who was the one battling, were here. Aaron, and Munchlax, sat down near the guys and Aaron huffed out a breath of anger and was forced to wait for his turn. "Are you guys next?" Aaron said turning his head towards them.

[Two-Hundred And One]

OOC: That's not... oh, never mind.

"YAH!", Zach cried as he dodged the falling Dragonite. "CAN"T YOU CONTROL THAT THING?! Jeez... today's just been too weird, the heist, the weird glowing chalice... I just don't have time for this, really." He walked away from the Dragonite's trainer. "Ninjask, how long until the next city?"

Ninjask flew up a nearby hill, and came back.[color="#00FF00"] "Jask, Jask Nin!"[/color]

"Really, that close? Huh. Let's hurry, then!"

About five minutes of uneventful trekking later...

"Well, here we are in Striaton City! Um... where should we go?" [color="#00FF00"]"Nin... Ninjask?"[/color] "Yeah, watching battles at the Eterna Gym did cheer me up... I guess we could watch some."

Zach headed to the Gym, and saw the girl with the Snover going against some sort of fire monkey. "C'mon, Ninjask, let's head to the stands." Zach sat down in the stands, and saw a familiar face enter the door - Aaron, who sat down next to him in a huff. [color="#0000FF"]"Are you guys next?"[/color] "Uh, no... I'm just here to watch, I'm not really fighting Gym Leaders. Today's just been stressful, and... I just need to calm down."

Kyle turned to the voice, and saw that it was the boy with the Munchlax. The boy with the Ninjask was also here. "[b]Yeah, I'm fighting next after that girl does. I don't know who I' facing though. Do I face red hair, green hair, or blue hair? Anyway, I'm Kyle,[/b]" he asked. Then, he turned around and saw that the Snover seemed to be at a small disadvantage. That made Kyle nervous. Could Karen and Mizu do it? He took in a deep breath and tried to push any nervousness he had out of the way. He turned back to Munchlax boy, and scanned his Pokemon.

[i]Munchlax, the Big Eater Pokemon. In its desperation to gulp down food, it forgets about the food it has hidden under its fur.[/i]

Wow! He looked through his Pokedex, and saw the Pokemon he had seen and scanned: Oshawott, Patrat, Eelektrik, Wynaut, Ninjask, Snover, Pansear, Purrloin, and now, Munchlax. He suddenly remembered the Pokemon back at the lab, including a Spiritomb and Aggron, which he had not scanned. Darn. But he realized that he had scanned 9 Pokemon! And four of them weren't native to Unova! Munchlax, Wynaut, Snover, and Ninjask. Why had he seen those, instead of the other native Pokemon? Must have been some luck. Looking back to the battle, he tried to memorize how the Gym Leader battled.

It took a while for XmasTree to defeat Pansear, much longer than than the fight against Lillipup. But after a continuous spray of Bullet Seeds, Pansear finally fainted. This could only mean one thing...

[color="#0000FF"]"Pansear is unable to battle,"[/color] Cress declared, [color="#0000FF"]"XmasTree wins!"[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]"Alas, I've been defeated,"[/color] Chili admitted, [color="#FF0000"]"Congratulations, Emma. You've earned this..."[/color]

Chili presented Emma with the Trio Badge. Emma was ecstatic. This was the first badge she ever received, considering she never participated in any of the other leagues before.

[color="#800080"]"Thank you so much,"[/color] Emma said in a tone of gratitude.

[color="#0000FF"]"Now... do we have an Aaron here?"[/color] Cress asked amongst the other trainers.

OoC: I'm posting each battle, and I'll post the next one after you guys post your character's comments on the latest battle. (I feel it is a good way for me to take a break and to plan my next post.)

"Yes! I'm here!" Aaron said as soon as he heard his name. [b]"Well come on up Aaron."[/b] Aaron looked at Kyle. "Hey sorry, 'bout this. I didn't know they were going to choose me next. Sorry." Aaron and Munchlax got down to the stage and stood on the Trainer square. Cilan walked up and announced, [b]"Ok Aaron. When I asked you about the pictures, you chose a Snivy. Your opponent was going to be Chili, but since he already went against Emma, you're going to battle Cress."[/b] Cress walked up to Cilan and thanked him and excused him. [b]"Ok Aaron, this is going to be a battle for the Gym Badge. You can as many Pokemon as you want and yo can switch Pokemon out at any time. And the battle is over when each trainer's Pokemon are out. Are you ready"[/b]Cress said while getting out his first Pokeball. "Ready as I'll ever be." Aaron replied back. [b]"Alright. Ready, set, Go!!"[/b] Cress threw the Pokeball into the air and the Pokemon inside popped out, and emerging was a Lillipup. "Ok then, Go Puppy!!" Aaron threw a Pokeball out came Puppy, the Lillipup. [b]"You first."[/b]Cress said, waiting for the move.

"Ok. Puppy, use Oder Sleuth!" Puppy ran up to Cress's Lillipup, but not to close, then started to sniff the air. [b]"Lillipup use Bite!"[/b] Lillipup ran up to Puppy for the Bite Attack. "Watch out Puppy!" But it was a little to late. Puppy started to jump back, but Cress's Lillipup bit Puppy's leg. Puppy let out a squeal as it took the impact of the move. "Hurry, use Leer while it's still on you!" Puppy stared into the Lillipup's eyes, and the Lillipup immediately let go, still catching Puppy's Leer gaze. "Good, now use Tackle!" As soon Puppy landed, it charged towards Lillipup with speed. [b]"Hurry, snap out of it and dodge it!"[/b] Lillipup snapped out of it's Leer dazed state and dodged Puppy's attack. *Dang. I guess Oder Sleuth didn't work.* Aaron thought trying to think of something else. [b]"Quick, use Tackle!"[/b] The Lillipup slid, from the dodge, then charged at Puppy. "Use Tackle again!" Aaron commanded. Puppy slid too and charged at the Lillipup for a head on collision. They both hit straight on into each other each other, then jumped back. Both panting from the attack and just looking at each other, then Puppy fell down.

[b]"Aaron's Lillipup is unable to battle! First Victory goes to Cress!"[/b] Announced Cilan. "Oh well, you did a good job Puppy. Return and get a good rest." Aaron said as he pointed the Pokeball at Puppy, who was soon being engulfed in red.

OOC: Kyle doesnt know that each of the Gym Leader's use a different type of monkey XD

"[b]That's okay! I can wait,[/b]" he said, pulling out his Pokedex again and pulling his goggles up. As Aaron went to fight his battle, he wondered about something, but shook it off. Then, he laid back and watched as Aaron would fight Cress. Does that meant that he would face green hair? As he sent out "Puppy" he scanned it.

[i]Lillipup, the Puppy Pokemon. It faces strong opponents with great courage. But, when at a disadvantage in a fight, this intelligent Pokémon flees. [/i]

And that made 10 scanned Pokemon. Suddenly, Cress sent out his own Lillipup! Woah. That really was surprising. As the two Lillipup continued to attack eachother, he wondered again. If they each had a Lillipup and Pansear, then he could use Karen against Lillipup, and Mizu against Pansear. Soon, Aaron's Puppy fainted. That was bad. Would he send out Munchlax next? He didn't know any other Pokmon he had other then Munchlax and the new Lillipup. "[b]You can do it Aaron![/b]" he screamed.

Zach and Ninjask watched the action from high in the stands. "C'mon, Aaron, you can do it!"

"C'mon, your Lillipup is stronger!"

[color="#2E8B57"]"Aaron's Lillipup is unable to battle! first Victory goes to Cress!"[/color], the referee announced.

"Oh, man..." Zach slumped a little. "Oh, wait, he still has a Munchlax, doesn't he? Well, hopefully he'll beat both Lillipup and... well, judging by the theme these guys have, and Cress's hair color, some kind of Water-type Pokemon." He pulled Ninjask off of his hea and looked at the bug. "Y'know, we beat those Patrat back there pretty easily... You think we could take these guys on?"

Ninjask rolled his eyes and buzzed irritably. "What?" [color="#00FF00"]"Nin, ninjask."[/color] "But, you're strong enough..." [color="#00FF00"]"Jaaaask?"[/color] "Well, I guess it would be distracting, but... think of the glory!" [color="#00FF00"]"Nin."[/color] "Look, I know enough about battling... sorta... I guess you're right..."

Zach slumped down further. Ninjask perched himself back on his head, glad that was over.

Emma returned to the side to watch Cress fight against Aaron, pinning the Trio Badge to her shirt. Aaron wasn't doing anywhere near as well, already losing his first Pokemon, a Lillipup of his own, right off the bat. Emma did remember this young trainer having a Munchlax as well.

Meanwhile, back at Calestia City the three man squadron prepared for their plan of attack. It was only a matter of time before the children would make their way across the Sky Arrow Bridge, which the squadron would see as their cue to engage.

"I know I can! I need to focus." Aaron yelled back. [b]"Choose your next Pokemon Aaron."[/b] Cilan announced to him. *sigh* "As much as I didn't want to, I choose Munchlax." Munchlax ran out on to the field with a look of determination. [b]"The next battle between Aaron's Munchlax and Cress's Lillipup will now begin."[/b]

[b]"Lillipup, use Tackle!"[/b] Cress's Lillipup charge at Munchlax with very fast speed. "Quick, use Defense Curl!" Munchlax got into a ball formation as just before the Lillipup hit Munchlax. Munchlax, still in ball-form, was hit straight on by Lillipup's Tackle, Aaron thinking it must of hurt, but when Munchlax got out of it, it looked like it barley did anything. [b]"Quick, use Tackle again!!"[/b] The Lillipup charged again and before Aaron could issue another command, Lillipup hit Munchlax, sending him flying towards Aaron. "MUNCHLAX!!" Munchlax slide on his belly trying to get a grip on the ground to stop. [b]"Quickly, go for another Tackle!"[/b] The Lillipup charged again "Quick, use Defense Curl again!" Munchlax, sliding just a little less than before quickly got into a ball again and took the attack, full on again. *Great, I guess it's time to use it* Aaron thought as Munchlax got out of his ball shape. "Ok now use Metronome!" Munchlax pointed one finger, on each hand, in the air and waggled them back and forth, and did a little dance, then stopped. Both, Aaron and Cress, waited to see what comes out of it, but nothing happened. [b]"Hurry, use Bite attack Lillipup!"[/b] Lillipup charged at Munchlax again, but barring it's teeth. Right before Lillipup made contact with Munchlax, Munchlax jumped in the air and made Lillipup miss. *What are you doing Munchlax* Aaron thought. Then Munchlax, using it's weight, torpedoed towards lillipup, feet first. [b]"Quick Lillipup do-"[/b] But Cress spoke to late. Munchlax pounded on Lillipup's head plowing it into the field sending dust and debris into the air. Then he bounced of it making it's head go deeper into the field with more debris fly into the air and the stands. Aaron quickly got out his handy dandy Attack index and tried to find the move Munchlax used, he found it right when Munchlax landed back on the ground.

[i]Bounce, a Flying type move used by Ponyta, Rapidash, Spoink, and Grumpig. Bounces up, then down the opponent. It may paralyze.[/i] "Hence the bouncing off Lillipup." Aaron said, watching the dust cloud clear. Lillipup, by what Aaron saw, was unconscious and with a twitching leg. [b]Lillipup is unable to battle! This victory goes to challenger, Aaron![/b] Cilan announced. "YES!! Way to go Munchlax!" Aaron said with a thumbs up. Munchlax shrugged and scratched his head. [b]"You did very good. Now come back and get a good rest."[/b] Cress said returning his Lillipup to it's Pokeball.

[Supreme Gamesmaster]

"Ma'am." Caroline's first spies were reporting.

"Hm?"

"It seems Team Juggernaut is executing an operation at the Dreamyard."

"So there's no chance of stopping them?"

"No, ma'am."

"Oh, well. Lumia's in the area?"

"In person, ma'am."

"Hm. Well, then, don't bother telling her about Goldtooth. We'll let her improvise." The best way to lie was, after all, to tell the truth. And Lumia wouldn't be stupid enough to freeze up in the face of unseen complications.

"Dismissed," she added.

"Yes'm."

She dialed in another informant. "Greetings."

"Lieutenant."

"Any news on Goldtooth's movements?"

"They'll likely strike before the day is out, ma'am. Most likely it won't be for a while."

"Understood. Dismissed."

"Yes'm."

She was off to Accumula. If she couldn't make Selene do it, she'd have to intercept Goldtooth in person.

It was a long time before Victor thought he'd dropped by Nimbasa to see how the base was going... or rather if there even was any form of base at the moment. The base was supposed to be finished and fully operational at least an hour BEFORE Victor arrived. And yet as he was observing, they weren't even quite done yet right then and there.

[color="#000080"]"Can we take a break now?"[/color] one of the Water Team members asked another, unaware that Victor was right behind them.

[color="#000080"]"Hang on, we're nearly there,"[/color] answered the other, [color="#000080"]"Now let's get on with it before..."[/color]

[color="#FF8C00"]"YOU'RE ALL DEMOTED!!"[/color] Victor interjected, causing the both of them of jump up in fright, [color="#FF8C00"]"You were SUPPOSED to have this thing up and running an HOUR ago! Do any of you realize how much s*** I've done since you've probably been twiddling your thumbs and not building this god damned base?! Huh?! Free pay cuts to go around all of you, and all the money you lost will go directly too HIM!! 'Cause he's the only that actually does anything ON TIME and without screwing anything up!"[/color]

Victor pointed directly to his own pilot, selecting him as the beneficiary for all this extra money.

Not because Derome was pretending to have authority over them. That was good. The problem was something else entirely.

"Ah, I believe there was a misunderstanding, Lieutenant," said Felicia before Derome left. "We aren't equipped or trained for construction, nor were we sent here with that objective. We were simply sent as a liaison among the Lieutenants and as an extra line of defence for construction teams you and Lieutenants Stills and Encandero would supply. You're the one who's to be building the base; we're just here to make sure everyone's on board with the plan so you're not left out of the loop, Lieutenant."

[color="#FF8C00"]"'We aren't equipped or trained for construction, nor were we sent here with that objective' YOU DOLT!!"[/color] Victor shouted, obviously pissed off about receiving such appalling excuses, [color="#FF8C00"]"I only didn't give you the objective of building a base because APPARENTLY it was something even a TWO-YEAR-OLD could figure should be done! And who the bloody hell said you needed construction expertise to build a god damned base?!"[/color]

[color="#9ACD32"]"Sir, the base has just been completed,"[/color] the pilot stepped in to say.

[color="#FF8C00"]"About time,"[/color] Victor responded, [color="#FF8C00"]"Now to give these guys something they DON'T screw up!"[/color]

Victor turned to leave the two of them where they were, and proceeded to inspect the base and make sure everything actually worked the way he expected it to work.

"Heres your pokemon, good as new." Nurse Joy smiled at Yoko, who took the pokeball that held Lillipup in it as Mini jumped onto her head. "Thank you Nurse Joy." Nurse Joy smiled, "Any time. If you ever need anything else please to hesitate to ask me or my sisters." Yoko laughed a little bit nervously but nodded anyway. She always thought it was weird how every single Nurse in the pokemon center were related, were named Joy, and looked alike. "Srange..."

"Pichu." Mini got her attention and was pointing to the pokeball. "Oh right." Yoko released Lillipup, and watched at the small dog like pokemon look at its surroundings before resting on Yoko. It stared for a while before jerking its head to the side with a small, "Pup" - probably ment to be a "hmph". Yoko sweatdropped at the pokemon's attitude. "Um...Lillipup?"

Lillipup still didn't look at Yoko which only made her sigh. Of all the pokemon to capture she get one who was more stubborn than her father. "So..." She started. "You're my pokemon now an-Hey! Lillipup get back here!" Yoko yelled as she dashed off after the pokemon who suddenly ran off. This pokemon was going to be a lot of trouble.

"That's not an excuse," said Felicia coolly, well aware that Derome was out of earshot. "That's an explanation. We were never supposed to construct the base. That job was expressly delegated to him. Failing to comprehend that is his fault entirely."

Not to mention that she, as the official liaison to Lieutenant Caprera (and, by her, Lieutenants Lumia and Orione), she would be able to put her spin on Derome's every move.

"We were partly sent to evaluate him and his work on the base," she continued, "to ensure that it would meet the needs of the other Lieutenants, and I honestly doubt he's done a very good job if he's finished within the space of a day. Exactly what sort of base he's building is beyond me, but we'll surely need at least a battalion's worth of living space, not to mention the technology we'll need to track the artifacts."

In reality, it was doubtful that the base's technology would be the instrument of choice for tracking the unlucky trainers and the artifacts they carried -- Leona was more likely to offer her official connections with the myriad Unova police associations as a less conspicuous means of locating the trainers. But neither Felicia nor Derome knew those connections existed, and both saw the acquisition of the appropriate technology as a strategic imperative -- the better to keep them occupied with.

Talking of keeping them occupied, the situation was looking a bit desperate. [i]I know Lieutenant Caprera said she could come up with other goose chases for Derome, but this soon?! This is impossible![/i]

Despairing, she placed a call to the Commissioner's desk. "Commissioner Salazar?"

"Felicia?"

"Er, Derome's team are saying they're done," said Felicia. "Now what?"

"...Oh, dear. I'd best patch you through to the Lieutenant for this one. Hold for a moment."

oh crap.

There was a horrible silence for the next several seconds.

Felicia turned to address her platoon. "Well, guys, I f***ed up. Sorry."

The silence weighed even heavier for the next several seconds. Then the Lieutenant's voice, no different than usual.

"This is what I mean when I say that Derome is an enormous inconvenience." Leona sighed. "Alright, change of plans. Hopefully, Derome's done his homework -- God knows he's had long enough to do it."

She was referring to the rapidly forming triumvirate of herself, Selene, and Lumia. The trio were currently managing everything of consequence in Team Anima, with Him only giving the barest of directives and the other Lieutenants at the mercy of the triumvirate. Humorously, the triumvirate seemed to consist only of immunities: Selene had such overwhelming seniority that to refuse a direct request from her was to pick a fight with Him; Leona could manipulate anyone, on Team Anima or otherwise, into doing as she desired; and Lumia's strategy was so good the other two triumvirate members would willingly back her scheme.

"Change of plans," she said. "You're an evaluation committee sent by me to ensure that the base will fulfill the standards of the other Lieutenants."

Already, she was paging Selene again. She did not want to run the risk of complications.

"You were sent by me," said Leona. "But he ought to know that I have more sway over Selene and Lumia than he. If not, impress upon him that they back my evaluation service -- the risk of being betrayed is next to none, and if I'm coordinating their efforts, they can focus on creating false threats for the Trainers." The best way to lie.

"For now, ensure that it can house a full battalion of Anima members and the appropriate tracking equipment."

Excellent. Selene, her backup plan, was answering.

"Report back if he's actually done that. Good luck, and dismissed."

[color="#9ACD32"]"In that case, you'll be pleasantly surprised,"[/color] the pilot stated, smirking. Surely it wasn't that hard for Victor set up a base that met the Lieutenants' requirements in, as one would've guessed, a couple of minutes? Then again, having a mansion to set up a base inside of did help.

Meanwhile, inside said mansion, Victor waltzed inside to check that the base WAS in fact completed. Not that he didn't trust his pilot, but rather that it was completed to his standards. He then made his way to the city grounds to address the rest of the Water Team. As far as he was concerned, they'd better have paid full attention.

[color="#FF8C00"]"Alright, listen up,"[/color] Victor called out to the whole team, [color="#FF8C00"]"Since you all seem to be HOPELESS at seeing what needs to be done, I've decided to set up your base for you! You should all think yourselves lucky I already had the stuff I needed to build the damned thing. Now, if you'll all follow me,"[/color]

Victor moved onwards, leading the team to his mansion. Just from the outside it was impressive, as the entire building itself took up a couple hectares of land. But they were yet to see the inside of this thing...

OoC: This RP is getting nowhere without more people joining in. And remember, comment on the latest battle I had, which was Munchlax vs. Lillipup. And now this one.

"Ok. From what I saw from Emma's match, his next Pokemon should be that Fire type Pokemon." Aaron said to himself right when Cress threw his next Pokemon. To Aaron's amazement, the next Pokemon was a, Panpour?! "Oh that's just great!" Aaron said to himself, but more loudly. [b]"Aaron, do you want to switch Pokemon?[/b] Cilan asked him. "Munchlax, want to take a rest?" Munchlax shook his head. "Nope Cilan. Sticking with Munchlax." [b]"Ok then. The next Battle between Aaron's Munchlax and Cress's Panpour will now begin!"[/b]

[b]"Panpour, use Fury Swipes!"[/b] Panpour ran towards Munchlax, with it's paws in an attack position. "Munchlax use Defense Curl!" Munchlax got into his ball position right when Panpour came in for the attack. Panpour swiped at Munchlax so fast, it looked like it's claws were a blur to Aaron's vision. "Use Tackle now Munchlax and pin Panpour to the ground!!" Aaron yelled. Munchlax quickly got out of his formation and tackled Panpour, pushing and pinning it to the ground. "Now use Lick!" Munchlax opened his mouth and came in for a Lick attack. [b]"Blast Munchlax off with a Water Gun!!"[/b] A gush of water spewed from Panpour, sending Munchlax flying into the air. [b]"Wait for Munchlax land. After he lands, use a Fury Swipes!"[/b] Cress commanded. "Munchlax, use Metronome again!" Munchlax, about 20 feet off the ground, quickly waggled his fingers as quick as possible. He got done doing it and that's when Panpour came in for the kill. Munchlax, now Defense Curl-less, was feeling the attack of the fury swipes. *Come on. Where is that Metronome* Aaron thought as he panicked for the first time. Then right at the very moment when Munchlax might give out, Munchlax was quickly engulfed by a white light then vanished. "Wait?! Where did Munchlax go?" Aaron said, looking around. Aaron and Cress waited to see whether or not Munchlax would come back. Then, near Cilan, a white blob appeared next to him and Munchlax appeared, looking very exhausted from the fury swipes attack. "Uhh... I'm switching Pokemon Cilan." Aaron said out loud. [b]"Alright Aaron. Choose your replacement Pokemon."[/b] Cilan said to him. "Munchlax, return to me." Munchlax got up and started walking towards Aaron, but Chili came and picked him up and carried him to Aaron, while Aaron got out his Pokeball. [b]"Here you go Aaron."[/b] Chili said, putting Munchlax down on the ground. Munchlax laid down, letting out a big huff of air. "Take a quick rest Munchlax. Ok, Go!" Aaron threw his next Pokemon, hoping this will be the last battle to finally getting his first Gym Badge, Panpour.

Kyle watched as Cress had sent out a Panpour, and not a Pansear. What? Pansear was red, and Panpour was blue. Then that meant that Cilan would have a green monkey, because his hair is green. Weird. Pulling out his Pokedex, he scanned Panpour.

[i]Panpour, the Spray Pokemon. The water stored inside the tuft on its head is full of nutrients. Plants that receive its water grow large.[/i]

Wow! These Pokemon were cool! He wondered what the other gym leaders had for their Pokemon. However, as the fight went on, Panpour had won. Darn. Aaron's in a situation now, but which Pokemon will he send out? Will it be a Purrloin? What about a Tepig? Maybe a Patrat? Whatever it was, it had better be ready to take on Panpour, because it looked really tough. But he was sure the fight between it and Panpour would be a good one, no matter who won.

From Aaron's last Pokeball, emerged Panpour. "I'm ready Cilan." [b]"Ok. The battle between Aaron's and Cress's Panpour will now begin."[/b]

"Panpour, use Leer!" Panpour got into a stance, then glared at Cress's Panpour. [b]"Use Leer too!"[/b] Cress's Panpour did the same stance and glared at Aaron's Panpour. Then both Panpour's got hit by each others Leer attack, each bending down on one knee. "Quick use Water Gun!" Aaron commanded. Panpour rose on to both feet and sprayed a Water Gun at the other Panpour. [b]'Hurry and use your Water Gun to deflect the attack!"[/b] Cress's Panpour got up quicker than Aaron's and fired right before the Water Gun got to it, and intercepted it. However, Cress's Water Gun was more powerful than Aaron's, so as soon as it hit the opposing Water Gun, it tore through and got to Aaron's Panpour, hitting it directly, and sending Panpour across the field. Even though it was a water type move, it still did some damage. [b]"Ok Panpour, now use Work Up!"[/b] Cress's Panpour stopped it's Water Gun and looked down with eyes closed. Aaron waited to see what it did, then he noticed that it started to make it's fist very tight. Then it started to go red, like it was mad, and steamy. Aaron shook it off and yelled "Panpour hurry use a Lick attack!" Panpour ran towards the other Panpour with tongue out, then licked it and licked it. [b]"Panpour, use Fury Swipes!"[/b] Cress's Panpour opened it's eyes and swiped at Panpour's Tongue, which made Aaron's Panpour stop and screamed in agony. But Cress's Panpour kept going with it's Fury Swipes attack. Swipe after Swipe, Panpour took every attack til it finally ended leaving Aaron Panpour bending down on one knee. Cress's Panpour was huffing and puffing and the redness started to go away. "Cilan, I'm switch Pokemon." Aaron announced. "Panpour return and get a good rest!" Aaron said holding it's ball, as Panpour got engulfed in red. "Ok Munchlax, go finish this." [b]"Munch!"[/b] Munchlax got up, stretched, and walked out on to the field. ready to finish this battle. [b]"Ok resume battle."[/b] Cilan said.

"Ok Munchlax, use Metronome!" Munchlax did the same thing like last time, with the fingers waggling and dance, then stopped. Aaron waited to see what was going to happen, then Cress yelled [b]"Panpour, use Water Gun before whatever comes!"[/b] Panpour leaned back and shot out water for a straight collision with Munchlax. *Come on Munchlax. Give them a wowing finale.* Aaron thought knowing it could never happen, but he spake to soon. Right before the water touch Munchlax, a giant root came out of the ground deflecting it. [b]"Wha?!"[/b] Cress exclaimed. Aaron looked at Munchlax, he noticed that Munchlax had a very faint green hue around him. Then the ground started to shake, then many roots sarted to popped out of the ground, heading straight for Panpour. [b]"RUN PANPOUR RUUUUUUN!!"[/b] Cress screamed as the roots got close to Panpour. Panpour ran for it's life trying to avoid the oncoming roots after it and the one that are now popping in front of Panpour. Debris was flying into the air and into the stands where Kyle, Zach, and Emma were now shielding there eyes. Aaron and the other Gym Leaders were doing the same thing watching Panpour run, until it tripped on a rock, that was caused by the roots. Panpour tried to get up, but it was to late, for Panpour was soon engulfed in roots. [b]"PANPOUR!!"[/b] Cress yelled running onto the field trying to beat away the roots that had his Pokemon trapped. Aaron looked down at Munchlax, that he kinda forgot about, who was now back to normal. And the roots started to retracted back into the ground. Cress stepped back to let the roots depart then went through the debris to find Panpour. Cilan and Chili came to help his brother. After a few minutes, Cress screamed out a joyful scream. Cress was holding his Panpour, who was now covered in dirt and was, obviously, unconscious. Cilan stood up and announced, [b]"Since Panpour is unable to battle, Aaron is the Winner!!"[/b] "YEEEEEEESSSSS!!! MUNCHLAX, WE DID IT!!!" Aaron ran out to Munchlax, who was also running towards Aaron, with tears of joy. As soon they got near each other, Munchlax jumped towards him and Aaron caught him, hugging him as he fell to his knees. "We did Munchlax. I knew we could do it." Aaron was so caught up in the moment, he didn't see Cilan, Chili, and Cress, still holding Panpour, were standing next to him. Aaron got up, still holding Munchlax, and extended his hand to thank them. Cress shook first, then Cilan, then Chili, and Cilan held up his hand with, in it, was the badge. [b]"Aaron. We, the Gym Leaders, would like to present you with the Trio Badge. The first badge of the Unova Region. Take it, you earned it."[/b] Aaron took the badge and looked at it then looked back. "I'm sorry about your gym." He said looking around the, once called, field. [b]"That's ok, we have 2 Pokemon that can fix it. Chili, go get Throh and Sawk."[/b] Chili ran into the back while Aaron Cress's hand one last time then went back to the stands, looking at his first badge. Cilan went up to the stands with Aaron, then asked to Kyle and Zach, [b]"Ok, who here is next?"[/b]

Emma had to admit that she was kinda bored throughout most of that battle. But that final attack that Munchlax used through the effect of Metronome really was something. She set to work on trying to recreate that attack with XmasTree, but to no avail. Although it did manage to perform Ingrain and Wood Hammer instead. Close, but no cigar.

[color="#800080"]"Hang on, what was that last attack?"[/color] Emma asked, trying to look it up through her Pokedex and see if XmasTree could actually learn it.

"[b]Thats me,[/b]" he said, and he got up from his seat the stands. He didn't notice the Throh and Sawk picking up the mess. He didn't hear the kids on the stands cheering him. When he reached the field, he looked at Cilan, and a rush of confidence swept him. "[color="#FF0000"]The battle between Kyle and Cilan will now begin. Trainers may only use two Pokemon, and only the challenger is allowed substituions. Let the battle begin![/color]" said Cilan, holding two red flags and raised them into the air. "Already?" he thought as Cilan gripped a Pokeball. "[color="#00FF00"]Lillipup, go![/color]" said Cilan, sending out the same puppy Cress used in his battle. He grabbed Mizu's pokeball, and threw it. "[b]Mizu, let's do it![/b]" said Kyle, and Mizu appeared. The Lillipup barked multiple times at Mizu, and Mizu had an uneasy look on her face. "[b]That's Intimidate...[/b]" he said, looking at Lillipup. "[color="#00FF00"]Correct. Lillipup, use Work Up![/color]" said Cilan, sgnalling his Lillipup to glow in an orange aura. "[b]Not good. Uh, Mizu, use Water Sport![/b]" he commanded. Mizu nodded, and a ball of water appeared in her hand. She then threw it at the roof, causing it to burst. Water fell on the entire gym, including the kids on the stands. Both Cilan, Lillipup, and himself were soaking wet. "[b]Not that hard...[/b]" he said. "[color="#00FF00"]What a unique move. Lillipup, use your Bite attack![/color]" said Cilan. Lillipup started to run at Mizu, but it tripped on a puddle of water. "[b]Water Gun quick![/b]" he said. Mizu opened her mouth and shot a blistering amount of water right at Lillipup. It shot Lillipup, and had him sliding across the battlefield. "[color="#00FF00"]Lillipup, Work Up again![/color]' he said, and Lillipup glew again. He ordered Water Gun, and he ordered Work Up, and it went on until Lillipup still stood, very damaged, but very strong. "[color="#00FF00"]Use Bite to finish this match![/color]" said Cilan. "[b]Water Gun![/b]" he said, and Mizu and Lillipup met in a flash of screechs and water. Lillipup was sprayed to fainting, but Lillipup managed to bite Mizu just enough to have it faint. It was a tie. Cilan looked surprised, and so was he. Withought a word, they both returned their Pokemon. Now, it was green monkey against Karen.

As Kyle got up to go do his battle, Aaron took out his Attack index to find the move that Munchlax used for Emma's question and, mostly, his curiosity. He found it under the "F's", it was called "Frenzy Plant." The name really explained the move, which said,

[i]The user slams the target with an enormous tree. The user can't move on the next turn. This move can only be taught to the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova starter's final evolvements.[/i]

"But it was more of the roots more than the tree itself." Aaron said to himself as Munchlax started to rest his head on Aaron's leg. Aaron turned his eyes towards Emma, who was still searching her Pokedex for the move. "Emma. You can stop looking for that move. I got it right here, it's on this page." Aaron said pointing to the page and handing her his book. "You can look through it, if you want, but I want the book back." He handed her the book and his attention went straight to Kyle's match against Cilan. And just like his match, Cilan had a Lillipup, while Kyle used his Oshawott, who is named Mizu. The match was intense, but Aaron was really surprised that the first round was a draw, with both Pokemon fainting. *Man, that means kyle only has one, or two, Pokemon left.* Aaron thought. After thinking, Cilan sent out his next Pokemon, which turned out to be a green monkey Pokemon. "Oh great, a Grass-type Pokemon against a Water-type. I really raring to see who wins this one." Aaron said getting out his Pokedex to see what it was called. The Pokedex said,

[i]Pansage, the Grass Monkey Pokemon. This Pokémon dwells deep in the forest. Eating a leaf from its head whisks weariness away as if by magic. It shares the leaf on its head with weary-looking Pokémon. These leaves are known to relieve stress.[/i]

"Hmmm. Part of the 'Pan' family are we?" Aaron said putting it away. "Ok Kyle, let's see how this turns out." Aaron said watching the match.

In one of the windows of the upper windows of the gym, Purrlion watches the match and waiting Aaron to get out of the building.

[color="#800080"]"Kay, thanks Aaron,"[/color] Emma stated, although disappointed that XmasTree was unable to learn it. However, it did manage to learn Ingrain and Wood Hammer through its attempts, so that wasn't so bad. But Emma felt she best get going... after all, Minda was probably waiting for her for all she knew.

[Two-Hundred And One]

Zach watched another kid, Kyle, start battling the third of the gym trio, Cilan. After a smashing finale from Aaron's Munchlax, he began to wonder if Kyle's Pokemon could give as much.

"So, Aaron, nice job pulling a Franzy Plant out there... It's a bit of an obscure move, and it really makes me wonder how Metronome works in the first place." He then looked down. "Say... do you think I might have a shot? I mean... Ninjask is fairly strong level-wise, but I don't really train as a priority, so I don't think he has any good moves..." [color="#00FF00"]"Jaaaaaask... Nin! Jasknin."[/color] "Oh, right, except Substitute. Do you really think that would be enough?"

[color="#00FF00"]"Nin. Ninjask."[/color] Don't worry, Ninjask, I'd still keep the project in mind."
