"An Elite Four member? That's impressive. Though I have to agree with you, the flute is pretty neat." The blond Trainer then asked about Ed's Pokemon. "Oh, her? Nah, she's okay. Just a little shy is all. What I'm wondering is about your Pokemon; is that a foreign one? I mean, I've seen a lot of different Pokemon in my day, but not that one." The subject of the conversation was quickly changed to what they came here for. "A battle? Sure. If that's okay with you, of course." As he said this, he looked down at the squirrel in his arms. She stared at him a little, then nodded. "All right! A battle it is, then. Well, after we get our Pokedexes, anyway. Should we just go to the lab now?"

Yoko smiled, "Yeah, I guess he's not a total loser." Kain simply rolled his eyes. "I think I'm gonna call you Mini. How do you like that?" Pichu - now dubbed Mini - gave a happy, "Pichu!" Before hopping onto Yoko's head and claiming that spot as his resting place. The young girl grinned, before stepping onto her skateboard. "Then lets get going. I wanna start catching more pokemon as soon as possible, and with Mini with me I know it'll be a piece of cake." Kain smiled looking at the two new trainers. Even though they were of different ages, they both seemed to have the same enthusiasm for pokemon. He always did like seeing new trainers get their first pokemon. It's one of those things where you can't possibly put a money value on; it was priceless.

Kain followed behind the two silently, wondering if Professor Juniper would remember him. When he first came to Unova he left all of his other pokemon behind in Sinnoh, and the only exception was his Eevee - which is now a Umbreon. He had to get the pokedex for this region before starting on his own journey through Unova. It was kind of a memorable visit seeing as though there was another kid in there who was overly excited at getting his first pokemon. He jumped the gun and named an attack and the pokemon ended up recking the entire room. It was actually pretty funny to see Juniper get angry. They had kept in touch up until about 3 or 4 months ago when Kain went off to a different region to search for the Pich - Mini.

When the did reach the lab Kain was pleasently surprised to see not much had changed. It all still looked pretty much the same. "What made you want an Oshawott?" Kain asked Kyle after a few minutes of being in the lab.

"It's a Cofagrigus. And Kain! Long time no see! How's your Elite Four area running?" Zexion smiled, as the original Pokemon League location had changed. Now each of the Four were in different places, all seperated by long paths with Pokemon. Zexion's was filled with plants. He smiled as the Pokemon that had followed him, as well as the Pokemon to scare the Trainer, walked up to him. A Pansear. "Well, little guy. You have yet again successfully followed me around the region. And a Emolga? That is rare. I used to have one of those, way back."

(Sorry. Project kept me from Posting.)

Gere was walking.

He didn't know where to.

He looked over to Neutral for advice- the Klink was floating beside him, a constant presence. Both of Neutral's faces wore the same expression and gave the same answer while spinning, round and round.

'One socket for one tooth. Round and round, interlocking and interloosing, one tooth and one socket at a time...'

It was the same answer neutral always gave, which was a relief, because neither the Klink nor trainer had a habit of talking. However they managed to communicate, it seemed to be enough for both.

He saw a town on the horizon. It wasn't on the horizon before. With every step, he got closer to it and farther from the last one. When he passed the town, he'd be one step farther from it and one step closer to the next one. Logical. Simple. Safe.

Gere didn't really care where he went- and he knew exactly how he'd get there.

One step. One second. One tooth at a time.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Ma'am. I've received a report from one of our agents stationed in Nuevma Town. They claim to have seen Zexion in the vicinity and requests permission to launch an immediate attack. However, Kain Shizune is also nearby. Given the objectives of the mission, I'd been wondering what we should do."

Her speech was rather nervous and hesitant. That was unsurprising; for all her talent, Hall lacked experience. Hence, Caroline had sent her out after Zexion; she'd get the opportunity to see masters at work, which could only help her prowess in battle.

Besides, the girl lacked ambition. She was hardly a threat to Carol herself.

"I'll conference with Lieutenant Caprera. Standby."

"Yes'm!"

<<>>

"Ma'am."

"Caroline? What is it?"

"Target has been sighted in Nuvema, and a team is stationed to act; however, Kain Shizune is in the area as well."

"Kain... hm..."

To attack or not to attack? That was the question. It would be best to test Zexion if he were pushed into a corner, not expecting an attack... but then again, he would only fight worse than if he expected a battle. And besides, she could also see how Kain would fare. And then there was the strategic aspect of everything... the feint... yes...

"Go for it. Lieutenant-level permission granted for an attack as soon as possible, but no later than tomorrow."

"Yes, ma'am."

Leona punched the button to end the conversation. The show would begin sooner than expected, it seemed, though she feared for the poor grunts that would have to do the fighting. No matter. The escape routes in Nuvema Town should be well-known to local sentries.

The game, it seemed, was afoot. And she was already ahead of schedule.

As Kyle opened the door to the lab, he looked around the lab with Yoko and Kain. As Kain soon asked him a question, he replied. "I always wanted a Water-type Starter. I want to be a champion swimmer after my Pokemon journey, and having a Water-type would really help out. And I also volunteered here, and I met a nice Oshawott while working. Professor Juniper said I could reserve this Oshawott for his hard work a few weeks later, since for some strange reason, nobody was taking her. I nicknamed her Mizu, and I've waited until this day to officially own this Oshawott," said Kyle, wondering where Mizu was. Mizu must be in the back of the lab with Professor Juniper. "So, lets look around the back," said Kyle, walking past the files and folders in the cabinets.

((OOC: Emonga's Jap name is, well, Emonga. Sorry, force of habit.))

"What, this little dude?" Kurow said, referring to his Cyndaquill. "This is my Cyndaquill. He comes all the way from Johto." Kurow said. "I got him back when I was a kid, living in Undella Town. It's a peaceful town on the far side of the region, next to the bay. I would always go out there and stare off into the ocean. One day, this little guy..." Kurow said, scratching his partner behind the ears, causing the Pokemon to give a happy moan. "...Showed up on my doorstep, well kinda, so I took him in. Ever since, we'd look out at the ocean together." Kurow said. He nodded when his question was replied to. "Well, if you're game, then let's go." Kurow said, walking towards the lab.

Caden watched the sunny skies of Nuvema Town close in on him as the ferry he was on arrived from the Sinnoh Region. "Well, this could act as a nice vacation for me..." he thought as he stepped off the dock and into the harbor. The moment he arrived at Juniper Pokemon Lab, his eyes widened. "So...many...people..." he stuttered before catching himself. He took out his map and data book for the Unova Region and read the information on the Juniper Lab. "Oh, of course...today is the day that new trainers start out on their journeys" he thought as he approached the lab.

"Oh, thanks for-" Before he could thank Zexion, he blurted out some name and walked away. "Well fine, I hope you don't get any thanks from anyone else." Aaron said out loud He started walking back towards the lab. When he reached the lab, he started to compare the lab back at Pallet Town like how the lab was smaller and not on a hill. He shrugged off the comparison and walked towards the front to find a couple of trainers waiting there as well including the swimmer from before, a girl with a skateboard and a Pichu, and tall man with a white lab coat like jacket with blue trim. Aaron walked passed them then stood right in front of the building then took a good look at the place. This was going to be the start of his journey. After admiring it, he went inside the building see it was different than what he what he was use to seeing, but there was no one there. "Hello? Is anyone here? Juniper?"

A quick nod was Kain's responce to Kyle's answer. He kind of assumed something along the lines of it being a water based pokemon, and Kyle being a swimmer - or so his appearance said. Though he didn't know about Kyle having been helping Professor Juniper in the lab before. Well it's not like that information was something known to everyone, especially people he didn't know. Yoko was looking around when she bumped her knee against one of the desk in the room, and hissed in pain. She forgot about her scraped knee. On the bright side it wasn't bleeding anymore, though it did leave a trail of dried blood down her leg. "Hey guys, I'm gonna go find a bathroom! I'll be back soon." She called out before walking off leaving the two boys together.

Zach was closer to the group, close enough to notice their appearance. One was wearing blue goggles and what appeared to be swim shorts, another wore a black jacket with ears, and the third, the oldest, had a white coat with blue trim, and wore a blue scarf. "Hey! Do you-" The group walked into a building next to them. "Dang. I guess we'll just... Hey..." He looked at the sign next to the building. "This is Juniper's lab. Huh. I guess we stumbled our way here." He looked up at Ninjask. "Breakfast will just have to wait, OK?" Ninjask groaned. "Oh, don't be like that, Ninjask. C'mon, let's go in. There'll be food later." Zach entered the building, and noticed two of the group's members. "Oh, hi! Are you meeting with Juniper, too?", he asked them.

Beyond the far edges of this world, avid red eyes searched the PokeWorld. They knew not what they were searching for, only that it would become clear as soon as it was seen. The eyes and their owner, a Pokemon regaled in legend in this land, knew that what he was searching for was a group of humans, but whom they were, he did know. As such, he spent quite a long time searching the regions, eyes moving from Kanto, then Johto, and on down the chain. As he searched, the Pokemon's mind began to wander.

These items which he held now...these Keys. The Pokemon knew they were trouble. He had heard the stories of old; of the time they had first been used. It had happened many centuries ago, when humans were new and prehistoric Pokemon roamed the planet. A war had plagued them...for what or why, the Pokemon did not know; the elders of his kind who had told him the tale had been scant on details. To prevent the war from being tipped in a certain favor, the Legendaries had come together and used their powers to seal themselves away from those that would use such powers for evil; but without these guiding influences, the world had nearly been destroyed. The rest of the story, having been told to the Pokemon while he was young, was lost to the Pokemon; nevertheless, he regarded the Keys with a certain nervousnes- wait, what was that?

Could it be...? Yes! The aura of those Trainers...they were the ones. The Pokemon had no doubt. With a sudden release of power, the Pokemon leapt into this world and zoomed for the location of the auras, his feet traveling over air as if it was land. He was headed for Unova...the lab. That was where the destined ones were located.

***

A shiver traveled down Ian McKeane's back and he looked up at the sky nervously. It was sunny and the sky was bright blue, with not a cloud in sight. Why had he jumped? Ian shrugged and looked back down, just in time to almost crash into a large boy with blond hair. "Woah!"

He did not recognize the boy, which was an oddity in this town. It was relatively small and peaceful, and most residents knew each other by sight, Ian included. However, seeing the crowd of people flocking to Professor Juniper's lab, he assumed all the new arrivials to Nuvema Town was due to the fact Professor Juniper was opening up shop and allowing Trainers to come see her and obtain their first Pokemon, Trainer I.D., et cetera.

"I'm sorry about that-" Ian said nervously, stepping to the side of the boy so they could face each other; however, the other boy didn't respond at first, as he was currently talking to a host of others about his Cyndaquil whilst walking. Almost reflexively, Ian looked down at his belt and sole Poke Ball, where his Tepig, Bandit was concealed; with his almost-kleptomaniac behavior, Ian figured it would be better not to let the Pokemon out free while around so many people.

"Sorry about that." Ian said again, falling alongside the boy and the others as they waited outside Juniper's lab. After making eye contact with all of them, he said, "Hi, I'm Ian McKeane. You must be new here, huh?"

There was barely any time to respond, however, as suddenly the laboratory door was opened by one of the kids and a voice rang out.

"Welcome, welcome!" The warm female voice that spoke exuded from the recesses of the lab, but before the children could wonder who it was, a figure came into view. The person was female like the voice, and a contradiction of sorts; tall and slim, she exuded athletic grace despite the white lab coat she wore. Auburn hair, twisted upwards in a fancy hairdo, adorned a smiling face that was both motherly and young at the same time. Underneath her coat, she wore simple clothing; a low white V-neck and a green skirt, with unadorned red and white running shoes covering her petite feet. Most of the Trainers, like Ian, knew who she was; Professor Aurea Juniper, the resident Pokemon professor of the region.

"Hello! I'm Professor Juniper." The woman said cheerfully for those who didn't know her. "Please, come in, all of you!" She gestured to the space around her, which constituted her lab; it was a oblong, rectangular room, split into two by a wall and brightly lit and clean as well. The portion of the room to the left was covered by white tiles and had all sorts of scientific equipment scattered around it; most prominent was a device in the far left corner that was boxy and a screen on it covered in bluish markings. The right part had wooden flooring and seemed more personal- because it veered off the the right, behind the wall, not much of it could be seen.

"I assume you are here to start your journey as Trainers and such? Get your Trainer I.D.s and the like?" The professor said, more serious now. She saw Kyle enter and winked. "Mizu's waiting for you." She pointed to an area next to the strange machine, where a small blue animal could be seen rummaging through a package.

Zexion smiled at the voice of Juniper. "Hello again Aurea! Long time no see. I see your doing well. But you changed SO much since I last saw you." Zexion pulled out his flute. "'Member this? My Flute I carry everywhere! So, how many teams of Pokemon have you given?" He smiled, and played a few notes on his flute. He walked down the lab, while so, adjusting his Gi. His Coffin was still out, as his other Pokemon were, following him. "Coffin, just stay quiet and happy." He said to Coffin, amused since it was hard for Cofagrigus to have emotions.

As Professor Juniper spoke, his excitement was limitless, but he obviously couldn't show it. And when she pointed him to Mizu, he practically ran over to her. Mizu was digging through one of the packages nearby, and Kyle bent down on his knees to Mizu's level. "Hey Mizu. You feeling good?" he asked calmly, and Mizu stopped digging to look at Kyle. Mizu then jumped into his arms, and he quickly grabbed her. "Guess that's a yes. We're going to start our journey together real soon, and it'll be lot's of fun!" said Kyle, holding Mizu in his arms, then putting her down on the ground. Mizu then ran off to play with some of the other Pokemon out. Then, he got back up to the rest of the group. Looking around, there were a lot of unfamiliar faces, but he knew a few, like Kurow and Ian (Who he had seen around town). From here, he could start his journey. He looked at Professor Juniper, and moved his blue goggles up a bit. He could use a nice swim after this. Mizu came running back to him at that moment, and leaned on his leg. He was ready.

Gere found himself in a lab.

He didn't know why.

He certainly didn't think he came here for any particular reason- he'd just been walking by the room when he saw a crowd of children, and wondered what they had been waiting for. It hadn't been a minute afterwards until that woman had come in and ushered them forward, including him for whatever bizarre reason.

He was upset for maybe half a second- it didn't fit into his plan, after all, -he was going to walk to this city, then walk to the next one, not stop in a random lab- but he got over it rather quickly. Aside from the adjustment being relatively minor, there were so many interesting things to see!

One of the people was holding a long stick of some sort. He looked by it closely, and noticed it had holes along the side and was hollow- that would make it pretty useless to use as a weapon, so... maybe it was an instrument of some sort?

Though he couldn't fathom what a strange sort of purpose an instrument like that could have...

Still, he only stared at that for a moment before he turned his attention to a brightly lit blue screen at one side of the room. He looked at it with interest, his schooling with computers occurring to him abruptly. He considered taking it apart at first, but decided that figuring out what it was displaying was more important at the moment than finding out how it worked.

---

"Pssht. Pssht."

"We're in position, Ma'am."

"Thank you. Stay ready."

"Yes, Ma'am."

"We don't want to hurt them. Unless they're asking for it. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Ma'am."

"Such a good boy. We won't speak again."

"Yes, Ma'am."

Kurow almost tripped after being pushed into the lab. He waded through the crowd of people, listening to a female voice as he looked around for the kid who had bumped into him. After he got to the edge of the crowd, and after locating the source of the voice; Professor Aurea Juniper, Kurow looked to his left, seeing the kid who he had collided with. "Hey there." Kurow said, his Cyndaquill resting on top of his head now. He pulled out his flute once more. He played a quick melody, speaking in between notes. "The name's Kurow... Undella's where I burrow... Good times are my game... This guy's the same." Kurow rhymed to his own tune, gesturing to his Cyndaquill for the last line. He stopped playing. "So, dude, what's you're name and game?" Kurow asked. "And you've got you're own Pokemon already, right?" Kurow asked, flute still by his mouth.

"Juniper Pokemon Lab..." sighed Midna. "Final-freaking-ally!" Ampere tensed slightly as the girl walked through the door, the human blinking around in confusion. Judging by how the place seemed close to being packed with seemingly new trainer, it seemed that being recommended to come here had not just been for her health. She had no idea -why- seeing the professor was considered a necessity, but maybe it she got closer to the crowd, she'd find out without sticking out like a sore thumb.

Ampere seized this opportunity to slide off its trainer's shoulders and hovered beside her like a spectre. The Eelektrik was notorious curious only when the timing would bother Midna the most, and in that sense, it immediately approached the nearest human and prodded it in the back. Midna facepalmed, tempted to recall Ampere just for the sake of preserving her dignity, but since almost everyone else had a Pokemon or two out, she wasn't sure if that would make things better or worse.

Because Kain was simply accompaning Yoko on her trip to the lab, he migrated towards the back of the group so that the trainers in actual need of Juniper's assistance could be in the front. Yoko, on the other hand, was hoping that it wouldn't take too long to get to her. All she needed was her trainers lisence, and pokedex. Normally Yoko was much better at being paitent, but the thought of her journey starting in any minute cause her excitement to sky rocket, and making her a less...Well...Paitent.

She noticed a few more people enter the room, but at the moment Professor Juniper was her main focus. "She's younger than I expected...Or at least she looks pretty young." She mumbled looked at the young professor.

Once Aaron heard the female voice, he immediately turned around and hurried to the front of the group of trainers. "I don't want to be the last one get his Pokedex." He said while trying not to hurt any one in the process of getting to the front, even though a bunch of people were yelling at him for pushing them. His Munchlax was hanging on the backpack for dear life as Aaron was running to the front of the group. As soon Aaron got to the front, catching his breath, he listened intently to Prof. Juniper. "Are you ok Munchlax?" Aaron said between breaths, Munchlax nodded, while still gripping the backpack. He looked back to the prof. hoping that she would finish what she was saying, so he can get on his adventure faster.

Zach groaned. The room was filled with trainers and Pokemon, and it was so loud he could barely think. I... think I might be a little early..., he thought to himself in a fit of understatement. He looked around at the large group of new trainers, and noticed one had what appeared to be a huge shaft of bamboo. Wow... wonder what's up with THAT guy... He then felt a weight lift off his head - specifically, his Ninjask, as it stared at two floating, spinning gears-with-faces, on the other side of the lab, and slowly flew over. "Ninjask! Get back here!" Zeke yelled at the insect. Sometimes I wish he had an attention span... He ran after Ninjask, and almost crashed into a person next to the floating gears-with-faces, who was wearing a grey suit. "WAH! Sorry, my Pokemon gets distracted easily..." He grabbed Ninjask and put him on his head. "So, are you this Pokemon's trainer?" he said to the grey-suited young man. "What kind is it? I've certainly never seen it before..."

OOC: Really had no idea what to post here, so...
"It's quite chaotic in here..." Caden muttered to himself as he approached the inside of the lab. "Well, I wonder...Professor Rowan suggested that I start a journey here, but I'm not sure if I really want to..." he thought as he stared around the lab. "However, I see that most of these trainers have Pokemon from other regions - that must mean that they're foreign as well?" he asked himself as he approached Professor Juniper's "desk"...

Edmund weaved his way through the crowd, trying to find a less packed area. He didn't really care about getting a Trainer ID late, though having it sooner would be nice. Still, Zorua took first priority in his actions. The Pokemon--still disguised as an Emolga--had buried her face into his shoulder in a fit of shyness. He stroked her headfur in an attempt to comfort her. Thinking back, he remembered the Elite Four guy mentioning that he used to have an Emolga and that they were rare or something. Frankly, though, they weren't that rare. At least, not in Nimbasa, anyway. He had a free pass to any Pokemon Musical, and liked to watch them in his off time. There were at least two different Emolgas entered in any given day's schedule, though, so they didn't feel all that rare. That, or they were just so cute that they always got entered. One or the other.

"Zexion!" Professor Juniper said, happiness clear in her voice. "How nice to see you! You've changed so much as well. As for how many Pokemon I've given to new Trainers- well, I lost count somewhere around 200." She laughed for a moment, then, with a final smile that told Zexion they would talk later, she turned back to the Trainers. "Yes, get close, and we'll start sorting out Pokedexes, IDs, and all that other stuff. So, get into an orderly line, if you please..."

***

"I'm Ian, from this town here, Nuvema." Ian smiled. "Yeah, I got my own Pokemon, Bandit." Ian tapped the Poke Ball at his belt. "So what's your name?" As he waited, Ian heard Juniper talk about the Pokedexes and swiveled his head around. He saw her giving out small red PDA-like machines, and his eyes widening, rushed forward to recieve one. He had made it maybe half of the way there before the lab was swept into darkness.

There was a scream, and then everything went silent.

An invisible force suddenly pressed on Ian forcing him down to the ground. He tried looking up to see who had knocked him over, but to no avail; in the darkness, he couldn't make out the person's form. Suddenly, a voice spoke out from the darkness, and it said,

"You are the ones, so I bestow these gifts onto you. Use them well, young Trainers."

Ian felt something heavy press upon his arm, like a glove. Before he could try to figure out what it was, the lights suddenly flickered back on. Everyone in the room was lying down on the ground, unmoving. For a minute, Ian feared they were dead, but some of them began to stir and get up. Some of them began gesturing wildly at things laying near them, and Ian realized that strange, glowing items had been deposited around the room, one next to each Trainer- however, this strangely excluded Zexion and Juniper. They ranged from a pendant to a rope, all in different colors, making it seem as though the contents of a thrift store had been emptied around the room- except these items were glowing with an unearthly light and shiny new. Finally looking away from this bewildering scene, Ian saw that the item that had been pressed down on his arm actually was a glove- a large, white one edged in gold and green with six jewels, two red, two blue, and two grey, pressed into it. Ian's eyes widened further when he saw it- where did this come from?!

Rendered speechless, the question Ian was longing to ask was instead spoken by Professor Juniper- in a slightly panicky voice, she said, "What happened here???"

"Finally!" Aaron yelled out. Aaron was the first in line and he waited until Juniper signaled the trainers to come up. When she gave the signal, he walked up to Juniper and shook her hand. She asked his name and his starter Pokemon, which she put on his ID card, and handed him his Pokedex. Right before he got the chance to take his Pokedex, the lab went dark. He heard a scream from the group behind then silence came soon after. Before he could utter a single word, he fell down to the ground landing near someone's feet like a ragdoll, then he heard a voice that had a very serious tone to it.

"You are the ones, so I bestow these gifts onto you. Use them well, young Trainers."

As soon after the voice stopped speaking, the lights turned back on and Aaron had control over his body again. Aaron rubbed his head then put his arms in sitting up position. "Oh man. What did I eat this morning? I know it wa-" Before he finish his sentence, he felt something jagged in his hand. He picked it up and looked at it. It was a clear yellow rock, about the same size as his hand, shaped almost like a lighting bolt with a slightly dark blue trim outlining the lighting bolt. He sat up looking around, noticing that everyone, except Juniper, the bamboo dude, and the blue jacket man, had some type of object. "What is going on he- Wait! Munchlax, where are you?" He saw Munchlax next to about to eat the snacks from his backpack. Munchlax froze, then put them back. Then he heard Juniper yelling the question that is probably on everyone's mind, "What happened here?!"

OoC: I'm sorry if I took some of your quotes Luxray. I needed back up to my part of the story.

Darkness. A single scream. Silence.

Zach froze. What is going on? He suddenly dropped. He found himself unable to move.

"You are the ones, so I bestow these gifts onto you. Use them well, young trainers."

He felt a sharp weight in his hand, and then the light came back. Zach got up, and started looking for his Ninjask, who he found on the floor next to him. He looked in his hand where he felt the weight...

It was a goblet, which looked like a rough patchwork of different stoned melded together roughly. On one side were seven brass dots, arranged perfectly in an 'H' shape. The whole thing glowed faintly. Wha... Who... He looked around, hoping from some explanation, but all of the people around him were looking at some other glowing object in their hands... except the guy with the huge bamboo staff (Which, at a closer glance, was a giant bamboo flute.), the guy in a blue-and-white jacket he tried to talk to earlier, and Professor Juniper. Maybe they know what happened here?, he thought.

"What happened here?!", cried Professor Juniper.

Ah... I guess not.

He groaned. This isn't gonna end well... Please tell me I'm still asleep on the boat...

Hey, I'm not even a trainer anyway!

OOC: I kinda took some of the quotes too. Sorry. They helped with the atmosphere, though.
