Offensive Summon

Recommended Posts

This is my new type of summon, offense summoning. Offense Monsters are placed in the Extra Deck. They are summoned by Tributing monsters whose combined ATK equals the ATK of the offense monster. There frame is coloured red. There stars come from the middle and go out both ways. They have Ranks like Exceeds. It is treated as a Special Summon. And without further ado, here they are!

Maddened Dragon
FIRE/Rank 7/Dragon/Offense/Effect: Once per turn, while this card is in the Extra Deck, you can increase 1 monsters ATK by 500 until the End Phase. If a monster who had their ATK increased was used as Offense Material Monster, this card gains the following Effect: Once per turn, you can decrease this cards ATK by 300 to have 1 other monster you control gain 300 ATK.

I really really like this.

Effect is basic, but that's good. It all flows together. You don't want a huge overdose of unconnected effects when the new mechanics is the point.

Some might say this is too difficult. I would disagree. The difficulty may give you a license for more powerful effects for these monsters, as well as being able to try and change the conditions for their summon by influencing ATK.

Like the though in the red background (although it is just red and green left now in fairness) central stars I can see why, I wouldn't have but your card.

Not sure the rank is neccessary, though I don't know much about exceeds yet. Level just makes it an easier to use with existing cards.

See if you can find a good shop who can do you a red background, then try and display in RC also. You'll get a wider audience. I'm sure others will like this too.

Good job.

If they have a Rank, they wouldn't have a different position for their stars. They would be the same. They would have to have their own "level" system to have a different position.

It's overpowered, because it's a free booster just for having it in your Extra Deck. You can run 3 and every turn get +1500 for nothing. And how are they going to know you're using it, anyways? You should have to reveal it, otherwise how is it going to go off?
