so, if you could have an army of monster..what would it be? Mine personally I'll say Shapeshifters. The Alpha Shapeshifters would be the secret weapon and all of them are given mutation to give them incredible ability like monstrous strength in an form that change into and also so they could regenerate any injuries that had will on some joy ride or lunch break.

Really? An army of monsters?
Such an obvious choice.
Cthulu and his spawn would make the best army.

Cthulhu is a somewhat a god(pagan) from outer space, if you were pinning against the one from H.P Lovecraft's....and gods aren't really classified as monsters...and it's kinda a douchey move to have gods fighting bunch of monster yo.

But the monsters need a leader and they are usually not going to listen to anything but a god.

I thought we were the leader(s). But yeah I don't think a pagan god would want to lead a bunch of monsters considering they can already have bunch of demi gods bastard as theirs. Also, I really like how in supernatural, the monsters all came from a mother who created an alpha who then spawn more monster by turning human into them...which contrast with humans and the angels who have a daddy(which is god). Just my thought on the matter though, so you can ignore it if you want but..YES! Founded someone who also knows H.P Lovecraft and his Cthulhu Mythos. Awesome

Lol. Yeah, I can see how you might find that a douchey move. But, this is a club of Horror, not a club of fairness!
LOL quite so. Anyway, should we add like power feeds for our monster? Also, Cthulhu vs Odin while the Wndigo vs Shapeshifters. Who would win?

If you have this b**** you own the war..well if it's not against the angel. Cthulhu and Odin would bent and f***ed....but if Cthulhu VS Odin...I'll say Cthulhu ftw. Shapeshifters VS Wendigo..I'll say Shapeshifters but why would they fight since monsters are one big family and Eve The Mother Of All is their ever loving mother haha and human should be locking their doors and held shotguns before our monster kill em all.

yeah well...life must go on..and so is this club. Anyway, I think we should do like monster of the week till it's Halloween. Fictional and non fictional monsters. By fictional I mean the one from tv series or movies along with their lore and we discuss about that monster. Is that a great idea?

Yeah it is, so let's get started next week on the 10th, but until then let's take suggestions on what the 1st one should be.

why not start now? It's October already
Yeah, but since were in the middle of the week already it'd seem a little unfair especially if it's a monster someone here actually wants to talk about.
After (If anyone does wanna vote for a monster for next week) I'll choose a different monster all of the way up to Halloween.

The poem Beowulf is contained in the Nowell Codex. As noted in lines 105–114 and lines 1260–1267 of Beowulf, Grendel and his mother are described as descendants of the Biblical Cain. Beowulf leaves Geatland in order to find and destroy Grendel, who has been attacking the mead hall Heorot, killing and eating anyone he finds there. Grendel attacks the hall after having been disturbed by the noise of the drunken revelers. One cryptic scene in which Grendel sits in the abandoned hall unable to approach the throne hints that his motives may be greed or revenge. After a long battle, Beowulf gets fatter and mortally wounds Grendel by ripping his arm off. Grendel dies in his cave under the swamp. Beowulf later engages in a fierce battle withGrendel's mother, over whom he triumphs. Following her death, Beowulf finds Grendel's corpse and removes the head, which he keeps as a trophy. Beowulf then returns to the surface and to his men at the "ninth hour" (l. 1600, "nōn", about 3pm).He returns to Heorot, where he is given many gifts by an even more grateful Hroðgar.

So that's grendel....DISCUSS!

I actually have a book that talks about monsters and villains from mythology, literature and movies and Grendel was one of the monsters in it and it said and I quote: "As an outcast, Grendel walks in desolate places on the fringes of society. Angered by the sounds of singing and celebration coming from the festing hall, Grendel wages war for 12 years against the Danes. A furious and hungry creature, he leaves behind scenes of carnage and bloody footprints. Killing more than 30 warriors in the feasting hall, he drags away their bodies to eat them in his swamp lair. Grendel cannot be stopped. He has placed a magical charm on all human weapons, which means that no knife, arrow, spear or sword can harm him. The king and his people abandon the feasting hall. Only the hero Beowulf is unafraid." That's what it says for the main description, but it does talk about Beowulf slaying Grendel and his mother, but it says that in the "Did you know?" section of each creature.
