cool topic, here's my thought on it..
Pagan Gods aren't Omnipotence, Omnipresence or Omniscience like the Creator/God/One True God/One Above All/The Presence but they can live forever - without aging, making them immortal but not all powerful, the most being Nigh-Omnipotence(mostly reality warper). Despite this, they all seem to be vulnerable in some way and can be killed by various weapons or by other beings as they seem to be bound to them before they even came to be like Thor, an all-mighty Thunder God was bound to die in the hand of the midgard serpent even before he was born into the world.

while other thoughts might be the gods grew weaker and became more or less like a super mortal (like superman) since less people believe in them, making them a fraction of what they were once.

True, but then if that were to happen the world would basically end!

precisely whichever god ran out of power first would lose and THEIR world would end, so then the other god can just take control of the worshippers of that god and basically become more powerful, hence a winner.

EDIT: Yay!! 35th Page

Unless it's the God of the Underworld than I'm pretty sure no one would win!

@Y2J nice analysis!

Yes but the god of the underworld has a giant weakness since he is an extremely dark figure... light pwns him... plus i don't think the dead can worship as they usually wander around not even knowing they're dead... but then again maybe that's not what you were implying...

I'm pretty sure indestructibility is a word... just so full of prefixes and suffixes that it sounds wrong when you say it in your head or typing it

God of the underworld does really have to be weak to light, looks at Hades for instance, a god of the underworld Hades was actually more altruistically inclined in mythology. Hades was often portrayed as passive rather than evil; his role was often maintaining relative balance. While prayer may sound more logical way for a god(a pagan god) to boosted up their power, I really think that it's more or less gods and mythological creatures exist because people believe in them. I don't really believe it that way, but it's probably the best theory to describe it.Plus Nexus already explain that immortality stuff so yeah
