Elemental Clash [IC]

Within the immense subterranean capitol of the Earth Nation, a man of rather young appearance sat upon the colossal throne set within the center of the imperial palace. The room was a spacious cavern, obviously natural due to the irregularly positioned columns along with the thousands of stalactites and stalagmites hanging from the ceiling and jutting up from the floor respectively. The young man was dressed in a plain brown robe, over which he wore an open-fronted white kilt leather kilt and a high-collared upper-torso coat of the same material. Around his waist he wore an armored belt with intricate designs upon it that did not seem to have any meaning, a similar material flanking the edges of the opening upon his kilt and the ends of his short-sleeved jacket. From his kilt, jacket, neck, and the bottom of his robe hung various talismans, the greatest of which being a large steel cross hanging 'round his neck on a strand of prayer beads. Across his lap was laid a mostly-plain staff of white metal, either end stylized in a similar way to the steel plates upon his person. His brown hair hung down just beneath the ears, flanking his sharply angled face which almost appeared to have been carved from stone. A tired expression graced this edifice, and he seemed deep in thought as a heavily armed and armored soldier ran into the throne room, bowing deeply to the monarch as he attempted to catch his breath.

"What is it?" The monarch inquired, gesturing with his hand for the man to rise. His voice seemed to have aged a few years beyond the man himself, being fairly deep and gravelly. "And please, do not kill yourself through the rendition of your message."

"My lord," the soldier began, rising to stand at attention rapidly, "A group of three duelists engaged some of our forces and are now making their way towards the capitol...what are your orders?"

"Allow them to enter," the monarch replied, swift in his answer, "and do not hinder their progress, but be sure to keep an eye on them. If they display any violent intent, engage and eliminate them immediately." At his words, the soldier bowed once more and rushed out of the palace, presumably to carry the orders throughout the city. The young man shifted into a more comfortable position within the stony throne, still relaxed as he came to a more comfortable choice of stances, patient as the very earth itself.

Alex returned the smile. "Come on. The base of the mountain is beyond this canyon. We will have to climb half way up the mountain, and there will be a tunnel leading right under it. Technically speaking, it is a massive natural bunker." Looking around Alex saw more earth nation guards watching them. "I don't really want to be watched for the entire journey to be perfectly honest so come forth. Elemental Dragon: Wind!" The small-ish dragon appeared out of thin air and bent down to allow the trio to get on. We'll have to go quickly but first, can you tell your chick to send a message to blaze to go to the dark nation? He's not in my deck so I imagine he is hiding or playing somewhere." The dragon nodded and sent off a telepathic message to its young. It materialised briefly then flew off to find blaze. Then Alex got on his dragon and as soon as the other two where on, flew to the ominous peak of mount rum' til.

Hyakka watched in awe as Alex talked to his dragons to deliver messages. "Gee, i sure wish i could communicate with my friends like that." Friends being referred to his monsters. Hyakka climbed up onto a safe-spot on Alex's dragon, but he didn't need to particularly worry, so he saved the safer spot for their other traveler. "This is going to get intresting, i wonder if they'll attack as soon as we get up there." Hyakka sighed a bit. "Best be prepared incase we have to do evasive or defensive measures."

Alex laughed at the mention of Hyakka saw that he wished she could talk to her friends in her deck. He liked that comment. Duel monsters WERE friends. Not worthless salves. "Have you ever tried talking to your monsters? I mean properly, with your soul?" Alex gazed into Hyakka's eyes, as if searching his soul itself. "Hmmm.... I didn't think so. Usually your duel spirits would talk to you first, since you were not aware that you can speak to them but in recent times, they have taken that as a virtue. Some duel monsters are being used as slaves, so sometimes they don't even show themselves to their 'masters'. It's sad but that seems to be the way of most of mankind. I have a very close bond with my decks, as does Winter. Try talking to them, prove you are worthy to be their master. Then they will begin to love you as it was normal to do so many aeons ago." Alex looked down saddly. "They won't attack us, but i'm pretty sure they are watching us. Hold on, I think my Elemental Dragon might be playing a practical joke on you, sky style-" before he could finish, The Elemental Dragon blasted itself forward straight toward the mountain. In a matter of seconds it slowed down and landed slowly and carefully on a ledge outside a small cave eneterance. It bowed to the trio and returned to its card.
"Welcome my friends to the Earth Capital, the invulnerable city of Raku' Trathus!" he said gesturing to the natural and unimpressive cave enterance. "Shall we go down then? Oh and Hyakka, put this on" Alex chucked a grey cloak to put over the Wind Nation one. "Just a precaution....."
He led the way down deep into the mountain. When they were through the cave, they found themselves in a massive, sub-terrain hollowed out mountain. Houses made of stone lined the walls and streets and right in the middle, directly under the mountain peak was the large, grand white palace. "Do you want to lead the way?" Alex asked Hyakka.

"With my heart huh...." Hyakka sighed. "Maybe i've been to obsessed with my job... Hyakka thought. He then rose his hand to his stomach. "But now i have something, to try for. I don't know why i never saw it before." Hyakka looked ahead as they soon approached. He listened to Alex's remark intently and caught the gray cloak. "Good idea." Hyakka said, as he slipped the cloak over his body. "Thanks." Hyakka said and sighed once again. "Gee, my sighs are sure becoming frequent." He said in a low voice, before finally turning his head to the man who had intended to grand them passage. "Can we trust them?" Hyakka said firmly to Alex

"Probably not." Alex sighed. "But I think we could handle ourselves well if they turn nasty. Anyway, this is too important to let them stop us!" Alex lead the way down through streets, towards the grand palace. A few heads turned, and people muttered to themselves in awe. But none stood in their way. They finally reached the massive crystal door and Alex knocked load enough to be heard around the massive cavern. "Now that is just showing off" Alex muttered silently. The doors swung open and they all walked in.
The throne room was massive, and stone statues could be seen everywhere. On the green, crystal throne sat the Leader of the Earth Nation.
"King of the mighty Earth!" Alex announced, "I come from the DIVINE land with urgent news and a gift. Hear us out and I shall continue. Send us off, and doom shall surely come to your grand nation!" The room fell silent, the guards became completely silent. Even the echoes of the room died down. Alex smiled "I don't believe this is a hard choice. Do you?"

Hyakka got off the dragon and followed Alex through the streets. "I never dreamed i'd be walking these lands." Hyakka kept his head straight to avoid making eye-contact with the citizens of the Earth Nation. Finally, reaching the crystal door Hyakka stopped and stood there. "Gee, isan't that nice." Hyakka said, admiring the beautifully designed Crystal door. Hyakak walked in along with Alex. As Alex had talked, Hyakka got down on one leg and bowed. He would have perferred to just stand, but he knew he wouldnt be able to keep a straight face looking into the eyes of his land's mortal enemy. Please be quick about this... Hyakka thought

Thaddeus calmly sat up on his throne, gazing down at those who had entered the throne room of his palace and carefully taking in every single detail of them. As he did so, a pair of what looked to be mechanical recreations of skeletal hounds made their way out from behind the throne, taking their seat on either side of the throne. Shaking his head, the monarch rose to stand, arms spread wide in a welcoming gesture to those that had made their entrance, and yet despite the welcoming expression on his face and about himself, he seemed very tired and rested a fair amount of weight on the white staff he carried. Whimpering in grinding tones akin to the whine of spinning gears, the two hounds nuzzled into the sides of his legs. Seeming to take strength from this, the surprisingly young man made his way down the carved stone steps which led up to his throne, the two hounds following him as he did so.

"Be careful, Thaddeus," came the low pitched gravelly voice of the hound to his left, "there is a presence of wind about them."

"Honored King of the Divine," the exhausted-looking monarch proclaimed in his own voice, the surprising strength of it enough to shake a little dust from the ceiling of the gargantuan chamber, "it has come to my attention that your arrival in this land was less than peaceful. You claim to bear a gift and urgent news you call your cross, yet the only proof that has been shown to me is violence. If you have news, say it swiftly and you may yet save yourselves the retribution due all those who challenge the very ground upon which they walk." With each word that came from his mouth in its own deliberate manner the man himself took a step forward until he stood merely ten meters from the group that had entered his palace, the mechanical hounds flanking him and sniffing the newcomers warily. The more agitated of the two stood on his right and stared directly towards Hyakka's hidden face. Seeking to calm the creature, the monarch brought his right hand down to gently cratch behind the hound's ears, the relaxation evident and immediate within it's demeanor.

"King of Earth." Alex began "Your elite guards would have attacked us anyway. We have not harmed them either. But the news I come with is important. Every nation, including my own is in grave danger from an evil threat. He has succeeded summoning the Earthbound Gods and their servants. However, there is a way to stop him. And that is with the mastercards. Only can the combined power of all the master cards defeat him. This card is to be used only when absolutely necessary. Not in normal duels." Alex chucked a white synchro card st the Earth king which he caught. Suddenly both the king and the card glowed. The king no longer seemed tired and looked more confident and strong. "The card has accepted you. Heed my warning however. This card is loyal to the divine nation. If used in an average duel, it may drive you insane. By using it against another master card would destroy both duelists."

As the male caught the card and felt his considerable strength and energy returning, he turned the card over and his eyes widened as he beheld the card containing the essence of the god which his nation had, until recently, revered. He nodded his head slightly to the young king of the divine nation as he extracted his deck. However, for a brief moment, the spectral form of an immense mechanical behemoth appeared behind him, a single massive and glowing blue eye turned down towards first the card in Thaddeus' hands and then to the group before him prior to simply vanishing. As Thaddeus moved to shuffle the new Mster Card into his deck, he remained silent and slowly turned about to return to his throne. Soon enough, he found himself once more seated upon the crystal throne and lifted his head to gaze back at the group that had arrived. The mechanical dogs had followed him, before vanishing and returning to their respective cards within the deck.

"I imagine that you are all tired from your journey here," he began, a bit of the youthful energy that ought to be present within one as young as he showing through his voice, "and I would like to invite you stay here in my palace for a short while. It will allow for a great deal more discussion on the threat that you say is coming, and, unless I miss my guess, a fair amount of rest which you all appear to need."

Hyakka sighed in relief. "That's great." Standing up, he turned in Alex's direction. He then turned to the Earth King. "I do not know about my companions, but i my self must decline your most gracious offer." Hyakka took in a deep breath and then exhaled. "I am not meant to be here, this is no place for my kind. I probably insult you just for standing on your precious land, but i mean no harm." Hyakka bowed humbly. "I was given orders from the Lord of the Wind nation him self to come here. Although they are reasons unknown i, feel now as if they were to foresee Alex's safe travel. However..." Hyakka paused. "Please sir, just say the word and i'll leave just as quickly as we came."

Alex turned to Hyakka. "Surely you have seen by now that your master sent you here to die? You were in his way. You are not like the others in the wind nation. You act as they used to." He then turned to the Earth King, "It is true that Hyakka is of the rival nation but you need not be wary. One day, you two will bring peace between your nations. Trust me. We shall therefore accept your offer, but we will stay a night, no more."

Winter kept her silence during the exchange between Alex and the Earth Nation leader. To her surprise the Earth leader, Thaddeus, was a far more reasonable man that his guards outside had led her to believe and looking at him Winter could hardly believe he had only just become the nation's leader, the way he carried himself made it seem like he'd held his spot for years. Winter didn't blame him, within a few months of becoming the leader of her own nation she had quickly lost her childish and youthful demeaner and become a strong willed and sometimes rather strict leader. If she wanted to keep her position she had no choice.

"Thankyou for your offer," she said, speaking up at last "But I should probably return to my own nation as soon as I can."

Her hand unconsciously flew to her chest once more which still ached despite the light dragon's attempts.

"Well...I suppose one night wouldn't hurt," she added.

Leon left Alex's chamber and thought of visiting the light nation. As protection,he brought 2 guards with him. While sailing,he spoke to the other guard that was feeling sad.

"Why are you so sad my good man?" he asked.
"Its because I remembered my long gone family"
"Its okay"Leon replied.

As they landed to the shores of the light nation,He hurriedly went to The Light nation's leader,Judau. He knelled with honor and said:

"My Lord,I came from the islands of The Divine Nation.I come to you to give my gift of gratitude for you."

Leon gave the wood, gold and food to Judau that Leon carried to his ship.

"I hope you accept it my Lord."

In the deepest pits of the Dark Isle, Sin was preparing for his vicious plan.

"One day, I will not only have command of these pitiful dragons, but even those that transcend the heavens" He cackled, maniacally.

The dark flames raged around him, as he held up a card, his final master-piece.

"Come forth! Malefic Dragon Knight!" He exclaimed, creating echoes that could be heard from miles around. The ground shook, the fires increased in strength even further and the thunderclouds overhead began raining lightning over the tyrant's home-space.

"Who dare summons me?!" Cried the demon that appeared from the card.

"I am your master now. You shall refer to me as Sin." Sin croaked in a harsh voice.

"I see, I have heard much about you, and how your creation was a success. Where to first then, my lord?"

"It appears you hate introductions just as much as I do. Very well, I shall inform you. We shall be headed for the Island of Light. There's a special place there. A temple. Should one conquer it, he could easily infiltrate the remaining Light territory, and we can transform them, by the power of the Darklords, and build an army even stronger. Enough to even have the Divine's quaking!

He let out a sinister laugh, but had to halt himself. He knew that he could advance towards the Light Nation whenever he wanted, but he had to time it perfectly so to face little response. He being quietly planning once again, returning his new monster to the card from whence it came.

As Ruk'thus flew on the back of the Earthbound God Wiraqocha Rasca toward the heart of the Dark nation, his homeland, he felt a powerful emanation from deep below ground. Apparently, Wiraqocha Rasca felt it too, as it swiftly dropped toward the source of the signal. "Perhaps this is another one of our dear leader's pet projects. Maybe exploitable. If not, at least Rasca gets a nice large snack of Duel Spirit. It must be tired after it's flight all the way near Water. I do wonder what happened to those two leaders..." He thought to himself as he spiraled downwards.

Sin looked up at the darkened sky, he could sense a great power approaching.

"A strike on one's ally so early?" He thought to himself. "No, it can't be, I'm just imagining this, with my superior talents to any of the Dark rulers, none would dare challenge myself."

He returned to his thoughts, enshrouded in darkness. Sealing the entrance to his lair with a couple of his weaker subordinates.

"Are you so sure this is safe?" Draco-Esque asked him.

"Are you questioning my superior judgment?" Sin answered, obviously enraged. "None would challenge me and leave alive." He snarled.

Trinity could feel the dark powers from the island of the Dark empire and, realising that the cause must be more than just the Earthbound Immortal, summoned up Blue Eyes White Dragon to take her across to the Dark empire, content with the knowledge that the island would be safe with the new defences up. As she flew, she sent a message off to Alex via The Fabled Rubyruda, one of the spirits in her deck, to tell him that she was off to find out what was happening to the island and who controlled these dark powers.

As Alex spoke with the Earth King, a fabled monster rocketed into the room. It landed softly on Alex's shoulder who looked at it affectionatly. "What do you have to tell me?" Alex asked softly, the fabled monster told Alex quickly and to the point. "I see, tell your master to await my arrival. I shall be there soon." The fabled flew out the cavernous room and back into the free air outside. It flew back to its master quickly.
"I am sorry but the threat I told you about has been making some dangerous allies. I will have to leave. Care for my companions, I shall come back as soon as my buisness is done." He bowed quickly and strode out the room, already summoning his dark dragon. He hopped on and suddenly turned into a dark shadow as did the dragon. Both disappeared in a black flash.

As Leon set sail to his nation,Shino,of the Elemental Dragons flew above his ship. His ship grew with darkness because of the size of the enormous dragon.

"Master Leon,I,Shino of the Elemental Dragons, come forth to you to seek help."Shino said with sadness.

"What is it Shino?"

"Third-in-command,Sin of the Dark Nation, has summoned and came allies with The Malefic dragon Knight thus, wreaking havoc to the world.Even second-in-command Trinity sees the danger coming to."

As they now reached the shores of the Divine Nation,Leon flew with Shino to the dark nation to stop the havoc of sin and meet up with Trinity at the dark Nation.

Ruk'thus could feel the Duel Spirits coming closer, and realized there were quite a few. But when he landed, he had to turn his attention to more pressing matters: the recruitment of an apprentice. And this one, whoever it was, controlled the Malefics, one of the other great evil powers of Dueling. "With our strengths united, none could stand in my way," Ruk'thus thought out loud as he clambered off Rasca, who promptly disappeared, and walked quickly towards the source. As he reached the entrance, he hesitated. What if this one could beat me? Ridiculous. Nothing can defeat the combined power of I and the king of the Earthbound Immortals. HE dispelled the thought, and stepped inside. In the chamber, he saw a man, with a corrupted draconic humanoid floating by him. "I am Ruk'thus Dar'chaka," Ruk'thus announced. "I wish to test your powers, and see if you have the strength to rule this world at my side."

Trinity saw The Fabled Rubyruda return mid flight and deliver Alex's message. Pausing in flight, she saw Leon, the DIVINE nation's 4th in command, fly forward to meet her, along with Elemental Dragon Shino, who has been long rumoured to have a good relationship with Leon. "Leon, the two evils seem to be meeting in that cave in the island but orders from Alex are too stay back and wait for him, as it was him who set out to find this evil in the first place along with Blaze." Hovering on Blue Eyes, she then said "Can you at least ride a dragon or something, watching you flying in mid air without any duel spirit to help is rather wierd and always makes me feel queasy to see you just hovering there.

Sin slowly turned around to face Ruk'thus.

"At your side?" He murmured. "AT YOUR SIDE? I have greater strength in one finger than you have in your entire body, and you expect me to form a pact with you? I work with none but the spirits who brought me onto this planet, and I certainly work with no human. Now, begone and I shall spare you your life, this once.

His Dragon Knight raised his blade, in jest, at Ruk'thus, and the two guarding subordinates started to close in on Ruk'thus.

"One last chance, you can run, or you can die."

"I've been dead before," Ruk'thus said sarcastically. "You'll have to do more than just kill me to stop me and my indomitable forces. Now, I offer you that one chance for ruling the universe with me. Throw it away, and I will leave you at the mercy of the Divine leader coming this way. Accept, and share in glory. I know which one I'd pick. And as a final note, I'm not a pathetic human. I will leave it to you to find out what and who I am."

Kalern Maaz was, to say the least, extremely ticked off. His last opponent, instead of standing and dueling honorably, had fled in terror at his Dreadnought. And it was only a practice match in the Divine nation. "Come on, people!" He shouted at his battalion. "Duel, don't run! We gotta be ready if Dark attacks! I'm hearing from the big brass that Dark has a new secret weapon. And if you run, they kill you! So come on! Who's next!"
