"Well, Venus," Blaze said. "I guess we should go." Venus nodded, and they started walking toward the Light nation's capital. As they walked through the forest, suddenly a man with short brown hair, gold eyes, and wearing a white jacket and pants jumped into their path. "Hmm..." He said. "So...you're the envoy from the Divine? Well, if you want to get to the capital... you'll have to duel me!" "But we don't have that kind of time! We've got to get to the capital now!" "I'm afraid I can't let you..." The man said. "Now, you either duel, or go back." Blaze sighed, "Fine... Go! Light End Dragon!" He shouted, hopping on Light End Dragon. "LED, get me to the Light capital!" The dragon nodded, and it took off, flying toward the light capital. Blaze looked down at the enraged man and shouted, "See ya later, Sucker!"

"The Earthbround Immortals?" Winter repeated "How on earth is that even possible."

A frown of concern crossed her face, having heard of the immortals from her master she knew of their destructive capability but also how hard they where to control. For a duelist to tame even a single Earthbound Immortal would be a miracle, to enslave them all was a downright impossible task. She heaved a sigh and looked down at the card offered to her.

"If what you say is true then I suppose I have no choice but to intervine," she said.

She reached out for the card offered to her but was interrupted by a cry from the cave entrance. She looked about to see two of her general standing there, having apparently followed them to the cave.

"What is the meaning of this?" She demanded, her voice shifting quickly to a cold and commanding tone "Explain yourself now!"

Ruk'thus retreated to his chambers, ready to perform a scrying ritual. It would not be so taxing on his abilities as the ritual of sealing, as he already had the monsters and spells necessary. He placed Earthbound Immortal Ascilla Piscu on the scrying table gingerly, as the use of it too recklessly would certainly alert all Duel Spirits in the area to his presence. "Oh great Earthbound God," he intoned, "Who plots against me, and where are they at this moment?" The table shuddered, and a massive black hummingbird with orange lines appeared. "The one who seeks you is mighty," it hissed. "He is the leader of the Divine nation, and knows of our coming assault on the Light nation." "He is soon coming there rapidly, with the leader of the Water nation, although that position is being contested." "Ah, so that is the way of things," Ruk'thus muttered. "Well, a change of plans is in order, I believe. I Summon Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca! Now fly!"

"General, this card is not for you. It is solely for Winter..... so I accept your challenge of a duel. However, I ask you to reconsider this choice." Alex said.
"Ha. Never. Over my dead body!" replied the general.
"So be it" said Alex, handing the God card to the General who placed it in his deck.
With a quick look over at Winter, Alex declared the first turn.

"I draw!" Alex began "I activate the Spell Card 'Correction.' This allows me to select 1 card in your Deck and 1 card in your Hand and switch them. So from your Deck, I choose 'Atlantan Master' and from your Hand I choose the card on your far left." the general looked bewildered as he swapped the master card with 'Cold Wave.'
Alex simply smiled. "Then I activate another Spell Card called 'Hasty Defence.' This makes you have to Special Summon 3 monsters with the same name to your side of the Field." The general played three 'Blizzard Dragons' to his side of the Field. "Finally I activate "Tuning" which makes one of your dragons a tuner monster. Now, I end phase" said Alex, leaving absolutely no defence on his Field and enough tributes to Summon the Aqua Master card.
The general of Winter looked puzzled then laughed horribly "You really ARE an idiot aren't you! Those rumours of you being a good duelist! You are worse than a beginner! So I draw! And I Synchro Summon your ultimate demise! Behold, the god of the proud and powerful water nation! I SYCNRHO SUMMON: ATLANTEAN MASTER!" he shouted, his eyes wide and mad. Alex looked at the general pitifully. "I told him, anyone not worthy of a God will be driven insane. There is nothing I can do now." The general stared up at the master card, which was a giant merman with deep blue scales, a golden trident and a coral crown. "ATTACK THE DIVINE FOOL MY SLAVE! ATTACK HIM NOW!!!"
The god of the Water nation glowed blue and a loud hissing sound filled the air. "Look away Winter!" Alex shouted quickly. The general cried out and when the light died down, the Godly monsterwas gone, as was the general. The only things left in the room were Alex, Winter and the God card. Alex went over, picked up the card and gave it to Winter. "I'm sorry you had to see that Winter, there was no other way."
Suddenly, Alex flipped over. "No........" he said "It can't be! LIGHT, tell Blaze to be prepared." he told the little white dragon. Finally, Alex blacked out.

"Light End Dragon," Blaze said. "Touch down right there, on that hill." The dragon swooped down toward a hill overlooking a large pit. "Thank you, LED. Now, return." The large dragon disappeared. He looked down into the pit, and saw many young duelists, dueling each other. "Well," Blaze said to himself. "Looks like the training grounds," Just then, the same woman who had been with him before reappeared. "Blaze," she said urgently. "I sense someone coming," Blaze nodded. "I can sense it, too." He said, still staring into the chasm. Then, he said, "Hello, Judau of the Light."

Winter was taken aback when Alex agreed to the general's terms, handing the Atlantean Master over to him and beginning their duel.

"Are...Are you sure about this?" She asked, knowing how fierce her general could be "Giving him a card like that."

However her surprise doubled when Alex not only gave his opponent the means to summon the card but didn't even play anything to try and stop it. Winter's mouth dropped open as the general took his turn, summoning the Atlantean Master. She took a step back as she looked up at the monster bearing down on Alex, however it soon turned on the general, wiping him out in a bright flash of light. By the time Winter's vision cleared, the duel had ended and there was nothing left of the man except the card.

"That's the power of a god card?" Winter could barely contain her disbelief "And you want me to have it?"

She took the card from Alex, still in shock at what she'd just witnessed when Alex suddenly keeled over.

"H-hey!" Winter managed to catch Alex mid-fall but he seemed to be already unconscious "Hey, Alex. What's wrong? Wake up!"

She looked down at the card in her hand, a worried frown crossing her face.

This thing is dangerous, she thought But if what Alex said is true then it looks like I'm not going to have much choice.

She laid Alex down gently and took out her deck, adding the Atlantean Master card to it.

"I feel like I'm going to regret this either way though," she muttered aloud.

Alex awoke suddenly, finding Winter by his side. "We must leave. Now." Alex said urgently. "An Eartbound has been summoned!" A loud and furious condor cry came from outside the palace, where Winter had managed to bring Alex. A block of solid ice fell from the ceiling and cries of fright could be heard outside. "He's here....." Alex mumbled quietly. "Quickly. we must make haste and leave. ELEMENTAL DRAGON WIND! COME FORTH!" Alex's dragon appeared and both Alex and Winter clambered on its back. They took off and the condor, with its rider followed. The earthbound fired beams of energy, but the Wind dragon dodged and sped up. they flew so fast it was unreal, and the condor was relativly far back, much to the cloaked riders frustration. Finally they started to fly over the light nation.

Trinity could feel the vibrations when the Earthbound Immortal was summoned, and quickly ran to the main podium to adress the DIVINE nation people. "People of the DIVINE, a terrible force of a duel monster has been summoned, but do not fear, Alex and Blaze have left for the LIGHT nation to help protect them from this threat. In the meantime, we must prepare in case the monster comes here but be careful, the monster of which I speak is an Earthbound Immortal, a terrifying duel monster of untold power. Because Alex and Blaze are both away helping to protect the LIGHT from this monster, I will take tempory command of the DIVINE and help you stop this Earthbound Immortal if it comes this way. This I swear as Trinity Larus, the daughter of the late Daniel Larus." With that she stepped back, keen to hurry to the border and see what could be done to protect this island in the middle of the other islands.

Judau noticed Blaze and gave a smile "You, I was told you were coming, what is the matter or as a oppose to your masters orders, what do you need from me?" he asked politely "Is this a test? to See if my Abilities meet your Divine expectations?" he prompted before taking out the Card the Divine Lord gave him from his deck and placing it in his pocket.

Winter hurridly hopped onto the dragon's back with Alex, looking behind her at the massive black bird creature.

"That's an earthbound god I take it," she said.

Whatever the creature's intentions it appeared to be following them, meaning it could only be after one thing. Winter's thoughts drifted to the Atlantean Master now in her deck and no doubt Alex had the others in his possession as well.

I can't let it ge to us, she thought Neither can I let it harm my people.

She reached into her deck, pulling out one of her most trusted cards.

"Come forth, Dewloren, Tiger King of the Ice Barrier!"

A great armoured tiger with silver-blue fur emerged from Winter's card and charged at the Earthbound God. The tiger let out a mighty roar but before it even got close a stray attack from the god shot straight through it, destroying it instantly. Winter's hand flew to her chest, a feeling as if a knife had been driven through it had come over her the moment her monster was hit. She looked up at the monster still persuing them as they approached the Light Nation.

So this is an Earthbound Immortal? She thought And that's just one. If what Alex said is true, then this guy has them all.

As Ruk'thus flew, he realized Wiraqocha Rasca was taking him away from his destination. "Looks like you just want a little fun, eh?" he said to Rasca. "Well, I hate to disappoint, but these aren't the people to kill right now. Later, absolutely. Now, turn back to Dark. There's some business I have with our dear leader." Rasca abruptly turned in midair as Ruk'thus shouted to the duelists on the dragon "I'm sorry, but I can't kill you yet. Come later, I'm open from five to seven in the evenings for sacrifices. Good day to you!"

The earthbound condor fired one last powerful shot at the Wind dragon which actually hit its target. The elemental dragon was preparing for another high speed boost so when the condor hot the dragons wing, the wind dragon blasted itself and its riders further than they desired. Straight over the light nation and into that of the Earth.
"My dragon, you are hurt. Land us there?" Alex asked.
"Thankyou Alex." The dragon landed at the bottom of a mountain, out of anyone's sight and transformed into a ball of pale blue energy. It flew into Alex's deck to rest from its encounter with the earthbound immortal.
Alex sighed. "He really is powerful, this threat. But now we have other problems. We are in the earth nation. Their leader is..... inexperienced like you or I. His reign began st the start of the war and that caught him off guard. He's wary of those who enter his territory. Especially the mainland where we are now. Its highly likely that we'll be arrested, even worse we are both nation leaders. He might take this the wrong way-"
As if proving a point, a dozen earth nation duelists appeared. Both Alex and Winter activated their duel disks and slotted in their decks. "As I was saying.... arrested."

Hyakka continued forward to the kingdom, but a mysterious robed man appeared from a gust of wind infront of him. The robed man hastily handed Hyakka an envelope and left just as fast as he had appeared. "Hm?" Hyakka opened the envelope revealing a letter inside. Hyakka quickly skimmed through the letter and then returned it to the envelope and placed it into his pocket. "The Earth Nation? I wonder why they want me to go there." Hyakka sighed and rubbed his head. "Orders are orders i suppose." On Hyakka's left side, he was carrying a ruck-sack, in which he then withdrew a half-body cloak. Dropping the rucksack on the ground he threw the cloak over his body. It connected together from a series of buttons around the neck side and it fell down just past his arms. Finally, he took the rucksack back over him and reached for his deck at the right-side of his waist. "Come Fourth! Sky Dragon!" A large-purple dragon with four wings appeared from a burst of light by Hyakka's side. Hyakka mounted the back of the dragon and the dragon roared and took to the sky.

Alex's sleek golden duel disk activated quickly, and he slotted his deck.
"Back off" he warned the Earth Nation Elite Guards. "You don't know who your dealing with!"
"And who are we dealing with? We know the girl" The leader of the Elite's said pointing a finger at her disgustedly. "But who are you? If you were of any importance, we would recongnise you!"
Alex smiled. "No importance, huh? I'll give you one last chance. Move out the way!"
"The answer is still no."
"So be it." Alex's deck glowed a brownish glow and the Mark of the Elemental Dragon's on Alex's arm shined from under his grey cloak. "Elemenmtal Dragon: Earth! Show yourself!" At the command of its master, the tremendous Dragon of the Earth broke through the ground beneath them. It flew upwards and blocked out the sun with its enormous body. Its wings were green and leafy while its horns were made of small tree trunks. large emerald crystals came out of its shoulders as a form of armour. It coiled itself around a mountain and roared so loud it shook the Earth. "Behold, my Elemental Dragon! Do you now know who i am?!"
"It can't be! A DIVINE nation fool has entered our territory! We must destroy him and his treacherous dragon which has betrayed our mighty nation!" He sounded fearful, and even more when the Elemental Dragon looked at the Elite Guard straight in the eye. "Come on then! Destroy them!" The Elite Guards all summoned a different EARTH monster to attack the Dragon. However, it took no notice of the attacks and made rocks from the ground fire straight up with deadly accuracy at the monsters attacking it.
"Your monsters don't stand a chance against my Elemental. So allow us to pass."
"We will fight until we can fight no more!" roared the leader of the guards.

After minutes of flying on his high-speed Dragon. Hyakka approached the Earth nation. From his place in the Sky, he could see a battle on the land. "Sky Dragon, over there!" Hyakka's Sky Dragon flew him down. As he got closer to the brawl, he saw tons of Earth Nation monsters and others. "Water Nation...?" Hyakka descended off of his dragon and landed near Alex and Winter. The Sky Dragon returned to it's card and Hyakka then turned to them. He wasn't quite sure what to say, but the robe he had wore bared the Wind Nation Symbol, at which, was the sworn enemy of the Earth Nation. "What's going on here...? He thought. He was prepared to wait for something to happen.

Winter hopped off the dragon staggering slightly from the pain still fresh within her chest, however she managed to remain upright, albiet wierily. She took a moment to examine their surroundings, noting the mountain just above them.

"Earth Nation," Winter muttered "Well I can only hope they're not xenaphobic."

Almost as soon as she said this, a unit of earth nation guards appeared and surrounded them within seconds. Winter reached for her deck, the pain in her chest still pounding.

I'm not going to be able to do anything in this condition, she thought, glaring at their attackers We should be fine though so long as they don't figure out who we-

She'd barely finished her train of thought when Alex summoned his elemental dragon of earth, the mighty creature towering over the guards and casting a massive shadow. The guards, briefly awed by the monster's presence, quickly identified Alex as from the Divine Nation.

Never mind, Winter thought.

"We will fight until we can fight no more!" Came the roar from the guards as they ordered their monsters to attack.

"I see these people are dense as well as reckless," Winter commented.

She took a card from her own deck, placing it on her duel disk and causing a bitter cold wind to blow from around her.

"Come forth, Defender of the Ice Barrier!" She commanded as a sleek fox creature with crystaline formations over its tail and paws and deep blue armour over its chest and head "Sealing Glacier Wall!"

The creature obeyed, a bright glow surrounding it as the ground about it quickly froze, coumns of ice flying towards the monsters summoned by the earth guards and encasing them within blocks of ice. Winter let out a long sigh, her hand flying to her chest again as the pain intensified due to the added stress.

"Well, it seems you can fight no more," she said coldly "Too bad."

"Nice work as always Winter" said Alex smiling. His smile was turned to a frown when he realised that she was hurt. "Return Elemental Dragon: Earth" hye said, lifting up the card which held the monsters spirit. "And come forth Elemental Baby Dragon: Light." The angelic white dragon appeared and perched on Winter's shoulder, as if it knew what Alex was going to ask it to do. It's master nodded approvingly and the Dragon began to shimmer and sparkle as it sang in the language of Dragons. "This should ease the pain." Alex explained, "and sorry about the 'subtle' approach to these guards. They already knew who you were so they would have attacked anyway. Also, I got a reputation to hold!" Alex smiled mockingly. Then he turned his attention to the newcomer, who was obviously from the Wind nation. "And what buisness do you have here? I'd really hope that I like you. If you are ANYTHING like some of your superior, I believe I won't like you. He treats his monsters badly, so if you share those beliefs......... anyway. Suprise me."

"Light Nation...? Hyakka thought, as he gazed at Alex. Hyakka then shook his head. "I assure you, i am nothing like that senile old fool." Hyakka shook his head and sighed. "I recieved orders to head to the Earth Nation for reasons unknown. Now im wondering if they sent me to my death, they know that the Wind Nations and Earth Nations are at each other's thorats; but." Hyakka sighed. "Orders are orders. I saw the scramble from up in the air so i came to check it out. Wasn't expecting other nations to be here. Starting to wonder if something bigger is at play here..." Hyakka trailed off. Finally coming back to reality he jumped slightly. "Oh right, where are my manners." Hyakka turned and stood up straight. "Hyakka Kaze! Second in Command of the wind nation! It is honor to meet you leader of the light nation." This is what Hyakka had assumed based on the monsters Alex had at his disposal. "And you too!" Turning in the direction of Winter and bowing. "I am truly honored to meet both of you."

Alex laughed. "Actually, I'm not the leader of the light nation. In fact, im leader of the divine nation! Alex Thekonia is my name. Leader of the noble Divine nation and guardian of the Elemental dragons are my titles. It's nice to meet you but- you will have a better future for your nation than the current ruler don't worry." Alex smiled to himself. "If you don't know where you are going, why dont you tag along with us?" Before waiting for an answer, Alex turned towards the highest peak of the earth nation, where the heavily guarded, sub-terrain capital was.

"Ah...my apologies." Hyakka bowwed his head in a bit of shame. "Yeah, i guess ill go along with you guys. It's better then me being alone in enemy Territory's. Though im curious. What is the reason to your being here? As i stated before, i am here because of orders...but." Hyakka looked puzzingly at Alex who had turned his head towards the highest peak int he nation. "What's going on anyway?" Hyakka thought, and also turned his head to the mountains.

"What IS going on? Even I don't know completely. What I do know is a larger war will soon break out due to 1 man disrupting the balance of our world. He will use this world to strengthen his dark monsters, which include the earthbound gods. We have had a taster of his power but if his plan succeeds, he will be a thousand times stronger. Then he will destroy every last hope left. And that includes my nation. Even the gods are worried. I may have to resort to using the gods obelisk, ra and slifer. That could kill me and the world. OR it could save the world. In any case, I have resorted to the master cards. These cards might have the power to destroy this threat, but only together. I hope this will draw the leaders and nations together and stop the war before it starts. If not, we will have to hope that the divine nation can stop the war or bring hope back to the nations. It's a risky move, as the leaders might use the master cards against each other. Only 7 are worthy of the cards. 3 already have possession of them. Anyway. I'll explain more on the way. This is our last hope before I unleash the true power of the gods. And im not even sure they could beat the immortals if the war starts.......... the signers beat the immortals once, but cant do it again......."
Alex began to walk in the direction of the earth nation capital in silent worry.

Hyakka listened quietly and intently. "I see...I didn't realize things have gotten that complicated." Hyakka sighed and then started to follow by Alex's side as they started their venture up the mountain. "The winds had predicted a change, but i didn't think it was going to be this serious. "The Earthbound Gods will rise once more, but the power of the signers are no where to be found." Hyakka shook his head. "Well, we can't give up on hope." Hyakka said, lifting his head up and looking at Alex. "As long as the wind blows there is a chance. I suppose when the time comes, we'll know." Hyakka had spoke firmly, casting away his grim thoughts for the world.

"Thankyou," Winter replied, looking down at the dragon on her shoulder as the pain in her chest eased.

She stroked the dragon affectionatly under the chin to show her appreciation then turned to the newcomer currently conversing with Alex. While they were talking she noticed the earth nation guards growing restless about them, the inital shock of having their monsters frozen having worn off.

"If you're thinking of trying anything, keep in mind I just stopp all of your most powerful monsters with just a single one of mine," she said calmly "And believe me when I say he's the least of your worries."

The small fox curled about Winter's leg, glaring at the guards and growling softly. She bent down and petted the monster on the head before returning it to its card form before turning to follow Alex and the Wind Nation man.

"Your monsters will thaw out," she said as she left "Eventually. In the meantime feel free to take any message you wish to your leader, just keep in mind we're not to be taken lightly."

"I hope you are right" said Alex. "But sometimes I wonder why the gods chose me as the next leader. Was I chosen to succeed? Or was I doomed to fail. There are so many paths to take. I could find and challenge this threat, but to be honest, I don't think it is possible to beat him alone. Sometimes I wish that I had never been born into this era. At first man and monster would interact with friendship and love. Now, they treat them like slaves and that has creayed abominations like the earthbound gods which feed upon pain and suffering. What if I do wrong and can't bring the nations together? I don't know what I sm doing!" He sighed. "Best be going. We are not going to achieve anything just standing here. The master card must be given to the Earth king and then we must go to the Dark nation. As much as I hate the leader of them, I fear he may be in great risk from our enemy." With that Alex set off once again, deep in thought.

"Heh. We've spent barely any time together and i already know what kind of a person you are." Hyakka smiled lightly. "For one. Your not alone. Secondly." Hyakka paused for a moment. "You have the faith and trust of your friends, as im sure they have faith and trust for you. Look towards tommorow with your head up, it is we who decide the future. I cannot vouch for the god's decisions but i trust the decision they made was a wise one. Doubt and Fear is a natural occurrence in life, im sure you'll rise above them, Alex." Hyakka said, as he followed Alex up the mountain.
