Sub has been up for at least 10 hours.

Anyway, watched it. Fuya took Anna's place in the opening credits. Ok, didn't watch the end credits to see if she'd been removed from there, so hope she hasn't been discarded (although she does still appear with the other girls). Also Neo GEPD in opening. Fusion has actually passed out.

So Bouncers are definately finished. Bugger, was going to use them! But the justification was actually good. In fact all the build up was pretty solid.

I like how they said the end of Fuya's turn was the first turn... WHEN BOTH OF THEM ARE ACTIVATING TRAP CARDS!?!? Good lord Konami come on.

Fuya showed more skills in one duel than Yuma has for most of the series. Seriously how does he beat these people?

Shame his mekazord thing was unspectacular.

Really didn't think much of Heroics.

Talking about random characters getting screen time, Obomi always makes me laugh. So juvenile but still. I love Obomi calling Yuma all those things.

All in all, decent duel that wasn't as filler as it may have appeared. But seriously, previous episode, find out Yuma's dad is still alive in Astral world. This episode, Gauche gets major exposure and is a considerably 'good' guy. Hints are one thing, but it going to get to the old Darth Vader moment and the reaction of everyone will just be 'yeah, we knew. We knew 40 episodes ago!'

Ps: I am now actually desperate for some new Numbers to come out. And by that I most certainly do NOT mean Number ??: OOParts Atlantic thing!

.........I think I know why Machu Mach doesn't have a sealed form. Upcoming episode says "Hope Ray vs Altantithal! ( or something ). Whats Atlantithal? A new Number? The boss monster for OOPArts? Whatever causes III to become evil? It says that III aquires a "New Power". I believe this was brought up earlier, but what if Atlanithal is Number 33's Chaos form? How does that fit in with how I began this post? Numbers and Chaos Numbers have sealed forms. So far the only exception is Machu Mach. What if Machu Mach ITSELF is the sealed form for its Chaos Number? As in parts of the castle fall off and its true form or something is revealed. Just a though.

[s]Yuma will finally summon Volcasaurus which will be used as Gaia Dragoon material. He'll then send it into Machu Mach which will cause it to fall apart.[/s]

Kidding aside, that would actually be pretty cool and am now wanting that to happen.

Don't go hoping now. We all know what happened last time
(My fault entirely...)

Nothing epic ever happens the way we hope it will.

Don't forget how many times I thought of an epically awesome idea for the episode, and it didn't happen. *sigh*

Or how I figured out an entire "Z-one is Yusei from the future" timeline that made perfect sense and 5D's then went "Actually, Z-one is a scientist that became the best Yusei cosplayer ever."

I've been trying to forget that.

Even though it seemed SO obvious it was future Yusei, plus subtler clues, plus one episode ended with the revelation, then the writers did a MASSIVE fake-out that just wasn't as satisfying as the ideas of Yusei, of all characters, finally becoming overwhelmed by despair and hopelessness after being a series-long "able to do the unthinkable innumerable times" protagonist. It would have offered so much epic development and fascination.

Stupid fake-out. It even still would have cemented the idea that Yusei is unbeatable, as the only one able to beat him is himself. And they stil made Yusei go all series without officially losing a duel (flashback not counting).

However, not that people here care, but they called Shark Reginald in the dub (I looked him up as I expected a new Numbers user in ep 46 when Yuma faces a Reginald). Seriously, Reginald?!

Personally, I prefer "Chazz" than "Reginald" but the dub choice does make sense. Shark is Zexal's Chazz, Reginald sounds kind of stuckup/rich/rivalish like Chazz, but Chazz is a name that slides off the tongue in an evil voice better.

Z-ONE actually not being Yusei had to be the worst flaw in all of Yugioh anime.

Yeah, Reginald Kastle sounds bad.

I would have named him Shocker Mckraken or whatever.
Wasn't the point of Yusei was the fact that he has to be Atem (in response to the possible backlash involving Jaden being a completely different hero,) meaning he would never do something cartoonish like drop a city onto another city with plenty of time for someone to stop it?

Quentin Frasier (nickname would be "Frasier", spoken like Seinfeld addressing Newman by name)
Brock Branniggan
Jayce Wipeout

I think you're just reading too much into it.

Machu Maq just didn't get a sealed form due to size, the same as we didn't really get one for Big Eye (or not the full shot anyway).

Would be a cool idea. Bit of a random Number to give Chaos to though, and III had never heard of it (though it would have been odd if he did. Just as [s]odd[/s] ridiculous as Numbers Wall card was <_<)

Kaiba > Chazz > Jack > Shark

Every series has one, sometimes too.

Again, even if you wanted to keep the RK initials, surely Robert or Ryan.

^Actually, Joey was probably more that role in the original.
The other setup would be Kaiba/Zane/Kiryu/Kaito, I think. Not 100% sure about the middle two.
I don't know much of Joey's backstory. Was he a jerk towards Yugi originally, and then Yugi beat him and they become pals?

Because you're right, there's always a rival whose a jerk to start with but then warms their way into people's hearts, and always an older, darker, cooler character whose like a master duelist who is neither entirely a good or bad guy, and they always seem to be more popular than the lead hero (and then there's always a fanservice cheerleader who does little else than look worried for the hero... <_<)

Joey - Chazz - Jack - Shark

Kaiba - Zane - Kalin - Kaito

Format seems to work from where I'm standing. I love all of those characters.

He was pretty much a bully along with Tristan in the manga, then both got better when Yugi stood up to a bully teacher for them, which was also shown briefly during the anime. (and fully in Season 0).

If I remember that bully teacher was Ushio Trudge right?

Also

Joey/Syrus/Crow/Tetsuo

Kaiba/Chazz/Jack/Shark
