Astro Dude
Like Aqua Man's Water Balloon. And I think it's about time the trains got some decent respect. The only ones I knew of were Dekoichi the Boxcar and Bokoichi the locomotive, and Steamroid and Steam Gyroid.

I still have faith that the show can return to the more epic show it was before Season 2, they just need to get past this filler-ish part and return to plot + good duels/characters. Brinolovania
The last episode I watched was 27...I wanna watch the other fillers to see how bad they are. Speaking of 27, I actually kinda like Kakeru. Sure, his whole "I fight alone! Teamwork is for losers!" thing is generic, but he could've been at least a fun character. I mean, his deck is fun (although Dream Pitch sucks), it could have actually been fun to watch him duel if he used more cards around Offside Trap, and I just like him for some reason...but the writers decided to develop him in one episode, than throw him away. It's so sad...[s]I want to see Kotori's outfit change more.[/s]

evilfusion
After paying closer attention to the opening for Season 2, I noticed that Yuma's WDC opponents are all seen together at one point. The soccer guy, construction guy, veggie guy, someone holding a camera (adding to the likelihood of the previews being accurate), and someone I assume is Charlie.
It's Yu-Gi-Oh. At some point, you'll have to expect some sort of tournament arc. The WRGP was actually a perfectly normal, not evil idea set up by the city. The WDC was set up by Dr. Faker and Mr. Heartland with the ultimate goal being that it attracts Number holders to the city for Kaito to hunt. That's in-universe, anyway. And combined that all Yu-Gi-Oh series will introduce tournament arcs (the original overused this), it's not a surprise. My complaint is that the tournament has so far not even tried to be plot significant, with blatantly filer characters with stupid deck themes. GX did this a bit too much with the GX tourney. 5Ds actually did tournament arcs well, for the most part.
Of course. The fanbase seems relatively consistent with that complaint. Yusei is the only protagonist to date who has never officially lost a duel on-screen, not counting the flashback in episode 2. It made the Zone fakeout worse because it pretty much said "any expectation of Yusei being remotely flawed is false. He's so good that some people might even surgically alter their appearance and personality to his and try to save the world"

Original had 3, Duelist Kingdom (Which was setup by main Villain of the season) Battle City (Which was setup by one of the secondary characters using the main rival and having the main antagonist being a "simple" participant...it also gave us the first hints of Bakura being a real threat...and the goal was to reunite the 3 Egyptian God Cards to do some stuff) Grand Kaiba Championship which...was filler...and not a semi decent 1 but had kaiba summoning CED-EoE...and epic Wagner Music so IDK...that sums up...2 actual tournaments... GX had a plethora of them...almost 1/2 tourney by season...XD and Yeah 5d's had the best tournaments so far...Mostly for the one from season 1...WRGP was sorta decent...too
evilfusion
Well, it also goes to show how the arc was handled in each one. DM: Duelist Kingdom- Both Joey and Yugi dueled almost equally, and half the characters dueled were recurring at some point (Weevil, Mako, Mai). There was something at stake for both protagonist participants, and the final match with Pegasus was a guarantee, rather than Pegasus being an entrant. DM: Battle City- Both Joey and Yugi dueled almost equally. Joey would have gotten more highlight on the duels than Yugi, except Yugi's were higher stakes and his main duels had gimmics that may or may not have made them more appealing duels (Dark Magicians, Exodia, Slifer, tag team with Kaiba). Lastly, the finals were good matches for the most part, although Marik should have lost every duel he was in and only won by technicalities either decreed by Ra or a judge. The Grand Championship was filler and the only good matches were the Zigfried duels vs Joey and vs Kaiba. GX: I only remember the GX tourney as being a real tournament, and it was handled terribly. Even the Shadow Riders in Season 1 had Jaden beating what, 5 of them? (Nightshroud, Camula, Tania, Abidos, and Amnael) Plus the Sacred Beasts duel. 5Ds: Fortune Cup was pretty good, and I liked the WRGP except for Team Catastrophe (blatantly irrelevent) and Team Taiyou (boring backstory). Zexal will probably get better, but I just dont like the WDC so far because Yuma's dueling every episode, his opponents are uninteresting, the duels aren't that exciting and overly gimmicky, he seems to have lost IQ points, and so on.
