The duel with Shark should have been a two-parter. But oh well. Shark had accidentally beat himself when he took control of Acid Golem. Baka Ryoga!

Actually, taking control of a number monster was a smart move, because he was facing a numbers hunter in a universe with the 'numbers can only be destroyed by numbers' rule. It's just bad luck that it turns out to be a suicide monster and his opponent could make it entirely useless right away.

I have my own view on this series. Personally, I thpught 5Ds was always overrated, it seemed to just try and through some plot line that existed by Yu-Gi-Oh!'s prolouge, and makes the whole Yu-Gi-Oh! saga confusing. I like the direction they took with this one, trying to remember that there's really nothing edgey about card games. I watched two and a half episodes of Zexal, and it has potential.

Already knew Shark had a strategy, but it completely got messed up when the monster he stole just happened to be a bad monster, that broke all his strategies. I know the feeling. Once, my opponent let me keep my Acid Golem on the field. He had a large defense of Morphrobics I couldn't break through without both Heavy Storm and Dark Hole. I never managed to draw either, and watched in horror as Acid Golem slowly depleted my LP to 0. . . . .

Next ep involves the reveal of the ZeXal Weapon! Used by Astral to beat Kaito's Galaxy-Eyes. Yay.

This Zexal power could be just some plot device to introduce Xyz Fusion monsters or something.

But all this won't matter, now we know that the duel abruptly stops in Ep. 24.

Due to the TCG section, I'm under the impression that Astral wins using that Zexal Weapon monster card, since it has the power to OTK after battling Galaxy-Eyes.

But if thats the case, they would pretty much just be dropping 12+ Numbers on the main charecters in 2 episodes. Besides, I think Dr. Faker would probably just cast Kaito aside if he lost like that. Or, since Kaito hasn't even used a Number yet, he may not even have them on him, and just planned to beat Astral using Galaxy Eyes.

I have no idea what the consequences of the duel would be. I'm just more convinced that Kaito may lose. I don't think he'll cough up all his Numbers, though, because as I've said and you reiterated, that would be absurdly stupid writing and completely fail to showcase 8+ Numbers. We don't even know how many Numbers Kaito keeps on him at any one time.

Besides, the subs hint that Kaito thinks Dr. Faker is hiding information, so the entire thing with the Emperor's Key was to find out this information. And considering Dr. Faker's seeming motive and animosity towards the Astral World, Kaito wouldn't be tossed aside that easily. He would have information on the Astral World messenger, be aware of the location of multiple Numbers, and he still has his own reasons for seeking Numbers.

Interestingly, this is the first duel that Kaito didn't Summon a Number in his first turn. (He Summoned 10 and 20 in his first turn against Yuma, and brought out Number 30 during his first turn's Main Phase 2 against Shark)

Does anyone else think that Kaito is probably going to use/get some card thats an upgrade of Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon if Astral does win?
Galaxy-Eyes Neutron Dragon? *shot*

Kaito was already shown to use Goddess with the Third Eye, I think he returned it to the deck with Photon Veil during his duel with Yuma. It can be used as a substitute as a Fusion Material. Kaito has already been shown capable of Fusion Summoning, as seen with Twin Photon Wyvern. Meaning? We're going to get a retrained version of Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
