evilfusion
Noticed something odd, which may indicate I had too much time on my hands. The only time an Xyz Summon was performed without the character announcing "Xyz Shokan!" was the first time Number 17 was used. What makes this strange is that earlier in the same episode, Shark had brought out Aero Shark with the declaration (possibly one of the most dramatic uses, too). For some reason, this is the only time I've noted the absence of the declaration, and I've grown rather accustomed to such declarations due to 5Ds spamming "Synchro Shokan" like 3 times an episode. wiithepeople
If thats the case, then I suspect it wears off, and we either see another no result duel, or we hear a back story of some sort. It also seems like we will find out what that Zexal Power" is in 24 episode. On a side note, I heard a rumor there's a new opening coming up on episode 25.
5D's used it's second opening after 23 or so episodes so I think you're right on that one.
burnpsy
Japanese seasons are 12-13 or 24-26 episodes. The end of a season is the perfect time to switch OPs.
Northern Sage
How do you mean by seasons? 5d's had the full Season 1 being 60+ episodes, and 70+ for Season 2.
evilfusion
Probably means by arc, then. 5Ds had the Fortune Cup Arc, then the Dark Signer Arc, then the pre-WRGP arc, then the WRGP arc, then the Ark Cradle Arc.
Time Psyduck
Japanese anime usually have seasons in multiples of 12-13, because 12 episodes will, at 1 per week, last 3 months. Most anime have either 12-13 episodes per season, or have a 24-26 episode double-length season. Yugioh seasons are usually longer (DM and GX were about 50 in all but the last season, and 5Ds had the two longer seasons), but the point where most other series would end a season is a good point for a new opening. Northern Sage
21 and 22 are out in a double feature, seemingly.
evilfusion
Yay! Just in time for episode 23 to come out. Watched 22 subbed. Confirmed what I expected: Kaito came to the conclusion Shark had a Number because Shark knew he was the Numbers Hunter. Shark goaded him into keeping that assumption. Northern Sage
The duel music in this episode was amazing. Can't wait for the soundtrack. Also, is it my imagination or does Astral's duel disk look a lot like the disks they used in Ancient Egypt? (in the original series)
Brinolovania
Believe in Nexus wasn't the first 5Ds opening. Take that into account. Masterpiece is pretty epic, though.
True, but my point is it will be hard to top Masterpiece. The first 5Ds opening wasn't great. Legend Zero
I'm becoming more and more sure that this duel won't finish. And that Kaito will return Shark's soul.
evilfusion
Well, I already explained the reasoning why neither of them can win, and they're building up to an interruption with Yuma and the others reaching that area. But I'm starting to think Astral will gain an upper hand.
Jord200
True. I'm just hoping Astral at least uses 1 Number beside Hope and Revise but that looks like thats a bit unlikely. I laughed when Bugman X started causing the computer to crash and Orbital began to flip. My guess is Astral summons Chaos Number 39, Kaito panics because he doesn't even know what it is. Also, I'm hearing things that the World Duel Carnival will begin the episode after Kaito vs Astral.

I don't think Astral will use Chaos Number 39, but I do think he'll use a different Xyz that may be similar to a Chaos Number, and that Kaito will react accordingly. Dementuo
Watching Episode 23 right now. Did... Did Kaito just use Giant Trunade?
evilfusion
He used Photon Hurricane. According to the page, it's a one-sided Giant Trunade that can be used if your opponent has less cards in hand than you. Wow. What a downside. Dementuo
Damnit! Finished 23. Must say, the subs need to get here soon. I can't figure out what they're saying. And I noticed that Kaito said something different at the start of his duel with Astral than what he said at the start of his duel with Shark. evilfusion
Yeah, I noticed that too. While the subs of 22 indicates he said "Now, offer up your soul", here he said something like "Now, offer up your Numbers". He did not mention the word "tamashii" (soul) at all. Dementuo
MUST SEE Oh, and I think I've figured out the Romanji he says at the start of most of his duels (Kaito, I mean). "Sa, Karasetemoaro kisama no tamashi ogato!"
evilfusion
"kisama" doesn't seem right. I always thought it was just "sama". And since "kisama" is a more vulgar phrasing... But I'm useless with Romanji.
