evilfusion
Except Yuma because he's the main character? I haven't been watching since the first part of the Star Robin duel. Could somebody summarize?
Since the first part? Hmm... Episode 8: Yuma wins. Shocking. Episode 9 is kind of filler, as he duels some cat obsessed girl who technically kidnapped Kotori because she's obsessed with Yuma. He wins using Baby Tragon. Episode 10: Yuma is called out for winning all his duels with his Numbers, and he goes to challenge Shark, who refuses. He ends up chasing Shark demanding a duel until he accepts. Yuma says that if he wins, Shark has to leave his gang, and if Shark wins, he gets the Emperor's Key pendant. He also promises not to use Numbers, as Shark doesn't have one and that would be an immensely unfair advantage. We discover Aero Shark got screwed in RL because it's anime effect deals 400 x the number of cards in hand. Yuma is pushed to a severe disadvantage almost immediately and, partially on advice from Astral and urging from Shark, Summons Hope. However, Shark counters the attack and weakens Hope, before Summoning Black Ray Lancer. He then points out that the "Only Numbers can defeat this card" effect is simply a monster effect and negates it with Black Ray Lancer's effect, destroying it and attacking with Aero Shark for game. However, while he takes the pendant as his prize, he promptly leaves it behind and tells Yuma to butt out of his business. Episode 11: Shark overhears the other gang members plotting to rob a museum holding a very powerful deck. He also sees the leaders have Numbers 61 and 19. He tells their youngest brother (who didnt want to be in on the crime) to get lost and goes in his place. The youngest member tips off Yuma, who runs to intercept them, challenging them to a duel with his Numbers on the line. Shark makes it a tag team, with him and Yuma vs the other two. While Shark inflicts damage with Aero Shark, the tag team uses a combo to bring out Number 61, which can nuke monsters and inflict damage. Episode 12: While the tag team brothers focus on Shark, Yuma brings out Hope and uses its effects to counter the attacks, even though he takes damage for it due to a Trap Card, and Number 19 appears. Shark accuses the two of cheating because their cards so blatantly combo together, as if they know what the other will do. We learn Shark got disqualified from the national tournament in the past for looking at his opponent's deck before the match (which warrants disqualification and tournament banning, evidently). Shark focuses on defeating Number 61 with Black Ray Lancer, but both attempts are negated, at the cost of destroying Number 19 instead and dropping its controller's LP to 0. A last ditch effort to prevent damage forces Shark to give a card to Yuma (Armored Xyz). Yuma figures out the desired combo of Monster Reborn for Black Ray Lancer and Armored Xyz with Hope to deliver the finishing blow. Shark tells him to keep Armored Xyz and leaves. DARKPLANT RISING
And as an extra piece of nearly irrelevant information, the "very powerful deck" in the museum had this hilarious joke of a card called Chaos End Ruler -Ruler of the Beginning and the End-. ...Well, now sorta get why they tried robbing? evilfusion
Soul Hunter is epic. I like him slightly more than Shark. Dr. Faker: Is so blatant of a villain, it's hilarious. He looks completely insane, has an epic villain voice, and acts somewhat psychotic. When asked how many Numbers Soul Hunter has, they say 11 and show a grid. There is absolutely no logical pattern to that grid that I can see. Especially since he has Numbers 10 and 20 for sure, and yet none of the spots seem to line up right to represent those numbers. Also, I think he said there's 100 Numbers.
Jord200
Tetsuo vs the Numbers? Sounds interasting. I'm kind of disapointed there's not an episode about Kotori dueling. It would have been great if she had gotten possessed by a Number or something. Also, I thought I heard something about Kaito having No. 56 Goldrat. A Ninja Numbers? Whats next? Harpies? Ojama? Roids? Greiga
My Numbered thoughts....... bad pun. 1) The fact that Astral was "protecting" Yuma from the influence of Numbers and then they get swallowed up by one seems interesting. 2) From the looks of the new episode bios, Yuma and Astral lose to Kaito but keep their Numbers? 3) Astral isn't the amazing dueling genius he seems to be. 4) Yuma and Astral bonding. Finally 45 TEEEEEETSSSSUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOO
evilfusion
I don't think they LOSE. I think the duel is interrupted or stopped somehow, similar to Yusei vs Kiryu, where Yusei was about to lose, but his D-Wheel broke. From what I gathered from the manga, Kaito ended the duel early because he was just testing Yuma's strength. I don't know if the anime will follow the same thing, or just something similar. evilfusion
Yeah, I always thought it'd be best to have Numbers collected by multiple characters, aside from Yuma and Kaito. evilfusion
Good thing I don't visit your profile aside from checking what picture you chose. *shivers* That's a damn creepy one. I'm not sure if he's creepier in that scene or when he and Kaito are talking. His eyes are so blank, yet so haunting, and what he's saying...*shiver* Even Kaito seems a bit unnerved, and the guy steals people's souls (somewhat reluctantly, but...) Once again, Dr. Faker is the most blatant villain character I've seen in a long time. That hair, his voice, his NAME, the fact he's got a HUGE grin at all times, and he's somewhat psychotic sounding. That said, he's awesome.
Merci
T- T- T- Tetsuo? He's fighting evil Yuma and his evil Numbers? Wow. Just Crouton
Zexal is Yugioh done right. It invites new viewers unfamiliar with the card game, stars a hero that a hero that fans can relate to because he's terrible at the game and is learning unlike past leads who were already masters (hopefully, the viewer grows with him), encourages smart plays over "power of friendship triumphs over playing smart" B.S. (so far,) and teaches viewers bits of the game while selling new cards. THIS IS HOW YOU USE A TV SERIES TO SELL A CARDGAME. The bad guy reminds me of Dr. Wily from Battle Network. The series so far feels like the Battle Network/Star Force.
