So Don Thousand's big monster having 10000 ATK is supposed to be a problem. Big deal. 10000 ATK looks a lot less intimidating that broke the record for the highest finite ATK score in the franchise TWICE in the space of a single episode (and then proceeded to nearly break THAT record less than 30 episodes later).

Nasch didn't even KNOW about the "Legendary Number beating Over-Hundred Number memory reset" thing and he did it entirely by accident in a way that made complete strategic sense. Good on you, Nasch. Good on you.

Who were those 2 people Vector killed? The woman with the silverish hair and the other guy? I get the feeling the dialogue here will be an eye-opener.

Those were his parents.

Okay, first:

SHINGETSU?????????

Second, this episode almost clears up the question about whether Vector really has a Seventh One or not. As far as I can tell, he does, he just hasn't used it (Probably because he clearly doesn't need to), and Vector doesn't seem to know exactly what Barian's Chaos Draw is. That means that either Vector has a Seventh One and doesn't know how to use it because he wasn't part of the Barian's Chaos Draw montage before, or he just doesn't have one.

Yeah, it definitely seems like, at least according to Vector's current memories, that he became the ruler of his kingdom by killing his parents.

I knew the moment that Vector brought out C65 (it was random chance) followed by C104, that those monsters would clash. After all, previews mentioned that Vector learns his real memories next episode, and Vector was in possession of both his Legendary Number AND Over-Hundred.

Also, I notice that Nasch has his own Legendary Number as well. He also has Merag's Legendary Number, and Vector currently controls C103...but no definites on that.

In all likelihood, he doesn't have one, OR he prefers using Don Thousand's cards.

Vector was faking ignorance. He pretended to have no idea what C101's effect was, but then revealed he had watched Nasch's Duel with IV. So yeah...he definitely knows about The Seventh One and C101.

I could really go for a drinking game every time someone yells Vector's name in anger starting from a certain episode.

I find it completely strange how somewhat Vector summons Judge Doom and Masquerade, and then Vector receives his true memories with the clash of the Legendary Numbers and the 10x Number. I looked up Chaos Rising from the Wiki and according to the effect it summons a random CXyz monster. And since Split Defender can choose among those with the same DEF, although for something like Creature Swap, you'd switch away your weakest monster, but it's funny how both Barian Emperors had no knowledge of the relationship of the Legendary vs. 10x numbers as of their memories. So in the end it was a silly coincidence to have Vector's memories touched on.

Vector has always been trolling his opponents and manipulating their plays...but he always has a sort of cheap setup with the cards Don Thousand gives him, and in the end he manages to win, with the exception of Yuma. I mean, he has a nasty way to control the field with Xyz monsters...and then on the sidelines do some dirty burn damage...that trap card Guard Off that Vector used when Nasch used Split Defender seemed totally random.

My one question is how Nasch, possibly if he does win against Vector, then he would have to debate over his pride and allegiance as a Barian and towards his fellow comrades. After all it's implied dearly how they all, including Merag are irreplaceable. He tagging along with Yuma vs. Don Thousand, and Don Thousand had been toying with the memories of the Emperors. But I really dunno what Don Thousand will achieve by then and how Nasch will work alongside Yuma. And I do feel the true battle is yet to be over at that point. But even if the wiki's synopsis is fake, at least these are some issues we can see will be resolved soon.

In the meantime I do want to see the monologue after he used the powers of the rest as his own. It sounds like he's explaining his true ambitions and his origins of violence in the past...

I don't really like the design of Vector with the merged powers. It's reminiscent of Don Thousand, but incomplete (obviously). It's not god-awful, but it's not nearly as good as either Don Thousand's design, or Vector's normal design.

C65 was Summoned by random, and Vector got to choose which one swapped. Obviously Doom with 1600 ATK was preferable to give up over his 2800 C103, 2900 C102, and 3000 C104. It's a silly coincidence for sure, but at the same time, not too badly orchestrated.

Vector's plot device cards are kind of dumb. The Don Thousand's Throne strategy was actually logical because he was sapping Nasch's power when his LP was restored. These cards are really ridiculous from a playing standpoint, even if they might have okay flavor.

On the subject of monologues, what the hell happened at the beginning? What did Vector do to Don Thousand?

It looked like Vector merged the ruins from his past to the Barian World and he had some nightmare of his true memories. Vector seemed like he was borrowing Don Thousand's powers, but it just seemed strange how Don Thousand wasn't putting much resistance. It's just like, "Damn you Vector you schemer!" or something.

Which, if that's what happened, makes no sense. Vector's already been using Don Thousand's powers without much resistance, and Don Thousand's consciousness being active saved him from making a bad move against Durbe and Merag. It seemed more like Vector was OVERRIDING Don Thousand entirely, and I sort of saw it as Vector backstabbing Don Thousand.

And afterwards, I thought Vector made some reference to Merag's power, but I may have misheard.

There's a possibility that Vector was borrowing the powers without permission, but for something like a rebellion off the bat seems ridiculous. Maybe he just wanted a clear duel with the full strength of Don Thousand to defeat Nasch once and for all. He did resurrect him to gain more power after all. But I dunno, the subs are once again always good at clearing things up if we had them.

If the next episode previews are correct, Don will come back with a "Just as planned!" in a few episodes, explaining why he didn't feel the need to resist too much when Vector supressed his presence.

Just%20As%20Planned.jpg

That's also another possibility, but since I am posting this in the perspective of Light Yagami it makes me think that Don Thousand's true schemes with recruiting the Barian Emperors, altering their memories with 10x Numbers, merging the Human and Barian World together, and creating millions of fake numbers will be totally convoluted towards the near end.

Well, let's see what the scheme seems to have been...

Long ago, Don Thousand was cast out of the Astral World because he's a being of chaos, and the Astral World rejected Chaos. Eventually, this led to him and Astral fighting, which Astral won and Don Thousand was sealed in the Barian World.

It's utterly vague as to whether Don Thousand was sealed before or after recruiting the Barian Emperors' souls, as supposedly, the 7 Legendary Numbers are the seals, and they were put in the ruins to keep them sealed. However, the past life of Alito and Gilag indicated that they had possession of Xyz cards representing their Number. So it's still not clear whether Don Thousand somehow went to Earth while his power was sealed, was somehow capable of producing the Over-Hundred Numbers in that state, and prepared for his revival while the Numbers were inexplicably NOT in the ruins, or if he prepared for his revival before ever being defeated, and those Numbers were placed in ruins afterwards.

I was under the impression he did it before being defeated. Astral made a comment about Don Thousand preparing the Barian Emperors for his revival with frightening foresight, and there are fewer contradictions if you think Don Thousand altered the destinies of powerful souls he didn't want to end up in the Astral World. By having them go to the Barian World, that world would continue to expand, and have powerful souls that would fight against any Astral World attacks in the event he himself failed to destroy the Astral World.

The history of the Numbers themselves is still vague. They're associated with Astral's power and the Numeron Code. The Numeron Code is also shown frequently in regards to the end of the Astral vs Don Thousand fight. Astral was also commonly referenced as "The Original Number" in Zexal 1.

Yeah...I can already see some very complicated plotting. And this isn't even starting with Don Thousand's intentions AFTER being revived.

Potential spoiler in the link, so just in case...

So after seeing this, I realized something about the Barians.

The barians are a throwback to Atem + The 6 Priests. They all reincarnated like the priests, but there's a bit more.

Nasch is Atem, being the leader and having lost his memory.

Merag is Isis, and I feel like I can explain why, but can't put it into words...

Either Alito or Durbe is Mahad. There are reasons for both, just unsure where to put it.

Vector is Aknadin. He's jealous of Nasch and has multiple hidden pasts with him, and even goes to the ZeXal equivalent of Zorc.

Mizael is Seto. He's the strongest bar Nasch himself, and has a dragon that the others fear for its sheer power and monstrosity. On top of that, he has a deep connection to a dragon in both of his lives, being a dragon tamer in his humanity.

Girag's the one that matters least. I guess he's Shada.

I think if we were going with this comparison, Alit would be Karim and Durbe is Mahad. I even think Durbe and Mahad look oddly similar, despite the fact that one is only somewhat humanoid.

As for Alit, Karim gave his life force to Shada when he was dying. Same happened with Alit's life force being absorbed by Gilag. Boom.

God, this episode was cool.

[spoiler=spoiler]

There is a Rank-Up Magic representing Don Thousand. It takes all Chaos Numbers from both player's Graveyard (of the same Rank) and uses them as Xyz Material for a Chaos Number of a higher Rank. With this Vector Summons Chaos Number 5 (a Rank 6).

Nasch used another Barian's Chaos Draw for a Quick Play Rank-Up Magic, which he used on No.73.

Vector actually lost this episode.

It was? That's bizarre as hell.

So, what are the real memories of the Barians?
How have they been played by Don Thousand?

Alito's friend and advisors were brainwashed into killing him. By receiving the Over-Hundred Number, he died with a heart full of rage over being "betrayed".

Gilag's supporters were probably the same thing, but that part hasn't been subbed yet.

Mizael was probably similar. We know he offered to die to keep his dragon safe, but they both were killed.

No idea yet on Nasch, Merag, and Durbe, although we have a hint about Durbe's death, at least.

Vector didn't kill his parents. Receiving his Over-Hundred Number apparently drove him crazy.

Don Thousand did this to all the Barian lords purely so that he could use their souls to regain his power. Their altered memories meant they would strive to protect the Barian World, and the hate in their hearts would make them become Barians, rather than go to the Astral World.

So...the Barians...this really cool concept of a world opposing order and supporting chaos...IS A SHAM?!?

Yes and no.

Don Thousand is a chaotic being that was cast out of the Astral World, creating the Barian World. The world expanded when souls entered the Barian World, noted when Nasch's army was sent there. Don Thousand at some point found 7 souls closely bound to the 7 Numbers that seal his power, and corrupted them, making it so they would become Barians (Astral noted that the ruin legends indicated those souls should have gone to the Astral World, not the Barian World), and serve as his food source to regain his power.

The Barian lords are deceived by their own memories. None of them died the way they thought they did, or in the circumstances they did. Don Thousand essentially ruined their lives and/or had them killed all for his own motives. This is why the Barian lords get pissed when they regain their memories. They've been directly serving the motives of a malevolent being who sees them as pawns he's simply going to sacrifice the moment they lose their value.
