Jeez... Kaito is... dead. I legitimately didn't expect them to pull a Bruno.

Damn good episode. Now that Kaito's died, the stakes just got even higher, since they lost one of the big three. And we may be losing Shark to Don Thousand/Vector as well... Yuma's had a rough couple of episodes.

BTW, anyone notice in the preview that Vector has at least FOUR Xyz Monsters on his Duel Disk? This is going to be one crazy duel.

I didn't notice his Disk, but I noticed that Nasch mentioned Durbe/Merag, and that Vector seemed to have C102.

Yeah...I think Vector claimed their Over-Hundred Numbers and probably spams The Seventh One.

I don't think Vector even got The Seventh One; as he wasn't duelling when the other Lords were. He probably will use a Don Thousand variant that's even more broken

Nasch gave a copy of The Seventh One to all of the Barian Emperors, Vector included, just before they left to attack the human world.

Firstly, no guarantee that Vector didn't get it. Before going to Earth, Nasch said something along the lines of "Let me give you all power".

Secondly, if Vector claimed the other Barians' Over-Hundred Numbers, he could easily have claimed a copy or so of The Seventh One, because that seems logically connected to their powers.

But yes, he could also end up with a Don Thousand variant. I also remembered that when Don Thousand possessed Alito and Gilag, I noted with no surprise that Alito drew RUM - the Seventh One on his first turn. Which seemed cheap as hell. Then Gilag did the same thing (off-screen, but obviously the case). Then MIZAEL did it...which removes the theory that Don Thousand was totally cheating.

I haven't been liking ZeXal's way of giving emotional moments so far. It just doesn't work for me somehow.

That's until THIS episode came. I have to give them credit here. That's probably the best ZeXal II episode I've seen, and Yugioh's most  powerful emotional scene I've seen since Antinomy in 5Ds. It was good stuff. That's all I can say.

It's very hard for the writers to mess with the status quo of these long series, in this way, and it's not like something like that hasn't happened before. Zane never recovered, and Antinomy never came back. Though it's very sad coming from one of the 3 main characters. As hard as it it is to say this, Kaito needs to stay dead forever or all this will be pointless.

Inb4 Numeron Code is the universe's key of creation and could be the Deus Ex Machina we all expect.....

I have to give some credit to the fact the emotional distress came mostly from Dr. Faker and Haruto, rather than Yuma. Especially when you consider that we haven't really even SEEN Dr. Faker this whole second series, and Haruto hasn't had much focus either. Despite that, their emotions are really sincere.

Even without watching ZeXal I, Faker is addressed as father, and Haruto is assumed to be the brother. The pain is where it should be.

Now I still wonder where Tron is.

Well they can feel more because they're family and they've been in hard times. Dr. Faker was deluded into supporting the Barian World by "helping Haruto", only to keep hurting his son. And Haruto has always been looking up to his brother as Kaito has always been there as a strong big brother. But Yuma can arguably have as much pain as kaito acknowledges strength and passion for Yuma as a strong rival and friend towards the end when before, he was stoic and a bit malevolent himself. And now Yuma will finally get himself together, cause if he doesn't get over all his friends' deaths and defeat Vector/Don Thousand, he'll still just be a crybaby towards the end.

Wasn't he already a crybaby?

Completely innocuous observation: The numbers on the card art of all the Over-Hundred Numbers are on the right side of the monster's body (except Giant Hand's, which is pretty much centered on the back of it's wrist, though it looks like it might be slightly to the right), and the numbers on Shark Drake, Utopia, and Galaxy-Eyes Prime are on their LEFT sides. Revise Dragon has it's number on it's RIGHT horn, as well, possibly signifying way back IN THE FIRST EPISODE that Shark is a Barian.

Probably not done intentionally, but it would be cool as hell if it was.

I wasn't at all surpised that there was no episode this week tbh, especially since the CFV anime didn't have an episode this week for example.

Neither did Build Fighters.
Though, to be fair, likely everyone had the day off of something. Cuz, you know, new years and what-not.

Apparently, these previews are legit:

Episode 138: The Embodiment of Chaos, "Don Thousand" Has Come!!
Vector continues to torture Nasch with his cruel strategy. Nasch, trembling with fury, drives Vector into a corner with a fierce attack! Then, the power of Don Thousand, which should of been erased, revives once more, as he now becomes completely free of Vector's body... All of this has been Don Thousand's plan. With his body no longer tied to Vector, he now plans to try and absorb even Yuma. At that time, Mizael, who fought a fierce battle with Kaito, appears!

Episode 139: Cutting Open a New Future, Astral's Decision!!

Well. 137 and 138 was known to be legit for a while. Good to see that 139/140 previews are nothing like the fake ones we got before.

But they also seem odd all the same. No mention of what happened to Mizael, or how the Vector vs Nasch Duel ended, unless Don Thousand absorbs Vector and resumes the Duel, with Yuma joining in.

The titles also seem oddly vague.
