Seeing as Alit and Gilag are gonna be mind-jacked by VecThousand, I think it's gonna spell a personality change for both of them, and I'd be ok with given that the plot is approaching the climax.

With IV defeated, it's likely that Nasch claimed his Numbers so the Barians would own at least 7 Astral World Numbers (15, 40, 88, 32, 73, 94 and 65)

Yeah, there's no chance whatsoever that Nasch did NOT claim the Numbers from IV. After all, the Barians even said they still had to defeat Yuma, Kaito, III, and V. Those are the remaining characters that hold Numbers.

God, that episode was awesome. I was not disappointed at all. Just as predicted, IV had Number 88 and used Rank-Up Magic on it.

And its effect...from what I gathered, it detaches 1 to deal 4000 damage. And if it has 0 Overlay Units, you win the Duel. Because Destiny Leo wasn't broken enough in the anime. I'm curious how it'll be handled when released.

You forgot that Vector has Number 96, too. Nasch has 32, 15, 40, 73, and 88. Merag presumably has 94. Vector has 96 and 65.

And Don Thousand mindjacks both of them? I guess it'll make Gilag a more credible threat. Even among the other Barians, he's the least threatening, despite proving to be a competent threat against both Yuma and Shingetsu. He's always been kind of the joke enemy of them. Alit was threatening because he was a skilled, passionate Duelist that enjoyed Dueling against Yuma, which goes to show that you don't have to be malicious to be a deadly opponent. He was noticeably more direct in the Tag Duel.

If the Barians aren't just using the Numbers as trophies, Mizael could probably use the Gimmick Puppet Numbers, since he runs a Rank 8 Deck, and is the only one that does. Then again, his theme is being a Dragon master, so he probably won't.

I have a hunch that Number C06 will grab a Number from either Graveyard, with the option of Special Summoning it. I bet that's how III and V steal Tachyon Dragon.

[spoiler=No. 62 rambling]

I wonder who'll have Number 62, though. If it's really Galaxy-Eyes Prime Photon Dragon, then either Kaito already has it, or he produces it from nowhere, or he wins it from someone else. But what I think? I think Mizael has it. And I think it might be related to the Duel with III and V.

Mizael is the "Galaxy-Eyes" master, and he has his sights on Kaito's Galaxy-Eyes for yet unclarified reasons. However, Galaxy-Eyes is not a Number, nor an Xyz. Which means, literally, until Kaito had gained Number 46, there was no reason (relative to the Barian agenda) for Mizael to target Kaito, other than pride. However, we still aren't sure on the relationship between Number 107 and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, and the similarly unclear relationship between Galaxy-Eyes and Number 46.

Originally, I said Number 46 might be a pre-form to No. 107, but I later realized that doesn't make sense with what he know. Number 46 is the legendary Number associated with Mizael, so any connection/resonance with Mizael makes sense there. And No. 107 and Photon Dragon can be attributed to them being "Galaxy-Eyes" monsters (I still want to believe that Photon Dragon was cloned from Tachyon Dragon). The Yugioh wiki says that Astral noted Photon Dragon has a light similar to the Astral World, meaning that Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon might have originated there, which means that No. 107 is the Barian World counterpart.

But that doesn't quite seem fitting. The reveal that there's another Galaxy-Eyes monster that's also a Number (and a Photon) makes me wonder just what the relationship is now. My hunch is that Mizael has it because it's a Galaxy-Eyes monster, but also it's among the 60 series.

Isn't there another possibility about 62:

That it's simply going to be a relivant card at the start of a new series of ZeXal.

I mean, that feels more thematic about things to me than the cover card after Nasch's Boss being something fairly random.

Also Photon Prime Dragon makes it sound like the origin of Galaxy Eyes. We know that Faker made Kaito's deck from science: It's possible he captured the energy of 62 or made GEPD in it's image.

It also gives a logic behind Faker returning at some point if he's going to.

I didn't forget, it's just we don't know what has happened to Number 96 at this point (We only know about 65 from the opening), and i did say "at least" so I didn't rule out the possiblity.

Probably, Dem. After all, last opening showed Kaito and a Dragon silhouette which turned out to be No. 46. My question though is still how Kaito gets it.

Either he gets it from someone, which makes me feel like him facing Jinlong for Number 46 was almost pointless unless 46 is important to his Mizael rivalry, if they're just going to give him another Number that serves an anti-Mizael purpose, or he somehow makes it himself, which...seems equally pointless.

True, I expect Prime Photon to be a previous form rather than an evolution, but Prime still could mean a superior form.

Also, the fact C107 isn't the cover card of the next pack makes me REALLY wonder when we'll see its effect and release. Another Zexal series is possible, but we're actually running out of Numbers to reveal, and Xyz have evolved to almost absurd lengths now with Rank-Up Magic and all the Chaos Numbers. Plus, where would the plot really go from the Barian war?

The first series had 3 "seasons". Season 1 was more or less a plot introduction, with the first Numbers appearing and a few Duels to get them, usually from Yuma confronting a wrongdoer under its influence. Then they introduced Kaito as the Numbers Hunter and primary rival for the Numbers hunt. They set up the WDC at the same time, and the season ends after Yuma and Astral unlock Zexal, keeping their Numbers safe from Kaito in that battle.

Season 2 is the WDC, with Yuma qualifying for the finals, introducing the Tron family as the secondary antagonists (Dr. Faker is the primary, but Yuma is not aware of him at this time), and the primary active antagonists, with them wanting the Numbers for revenge against Dr. Faker. Along the way, Yuma collects a few more Numbers and becomes involved with Kaito's brother, which is his primary motivation for Numbers hunting, as established in Season 1. The Tron family plot involving Haruto prompts a tag Duel between III/IV and Kaito/Yuma, unlocking Neo Galaxy-Eyes. III's feelings about Yuma prompts him to challenge him to another Duel, killing and reviving Astral, and taking III out of commission.

Season 3 is the WDC finals, which ties up the ends of IV and Shark's rivalry, V and Kaito's history, Tron's backstory and the family's relationship and motivations against Dr. Faker. After the final match between Tron and Yuma, Dr. Faker steals all the Numbers, and Yuma/Shark/Kaito challenge him to a climactic Duel, finally revealing the masterminds behind it all was a Barian. After the Duel, Yuma rematches Kaito and loses.

Season 4 (Zexal 2 season 1) is...a plot intro season again, introducing the Barian lords and the concept of Rank-Up Magic, followed by the reveal of Over-Hundred Numbers held by the Barians, unlocking a new evolution of Utopia using Rank-Up Magic, and ending the season after Vector's defeat and the new evolution of Zexal and Utopia.

Season 5 is the Legendary Numbers war, which ended a few episodes ago with Shark reawakening as Nasch, lots of backstory stuff, Astral nearly dying but being returned, etc.

This season is now the Barians going all-out on Yuma and co.

I didn't forget, it's just we don't know what has happened to Number 96 at this point (We only know about 65 from the opening), and i did say "at least" so I didn't rule out the possiblity.

It was very explicitly said, though. Don Thousand had Vector go to the Barian palace, where they found Number 96's power. Don Thousand explicitly said Astral was unable to absorb Number 96, so the power returned to him (because No. 96 is part of Don Thousand). He then had Vector absorb Number 96.

Number 96 had Number 65. if Vector has 65 now, you can bet he has 96, too. Astral had been unable to absorb 96. It had been unclear what happened to 65, whether it had remained with 96, or if Astral had gained it. The opening all but confirms the former.

I was wondering why it's numbrered 62, which seems kinda random. Then I realized this after playing around with the numbers a bit: If you add together 62+46 (Draggluon the Ethereal Dragon) it equals 108, which is a sacred number in Japanese Buddhism, and thus crops up quite often in Japanese media. It's also symbolic in that it is exactly one greater than 107, Tachyon Dragon's number.
There's relationships like this with many of the Legendary Number/Over-Hundred Number pairs, where the numbers are involved in a calculation and it returns something signifigant.
(102 (Glorious Halo)+ 44 (Sky Pegasus))/2 = 73 (Abyss Splash), hinting at the connection between Durbe and Shark.
104 (Masquerade)- 65 (Judge Buster) = 39 (Utopia), telling about the opposition between Yuma and Vector and possibly playing at the Rei Shingetsu plot.
There's also one with Faker's Numbers:
92 (Heart-eartH Dragon)- 53 (Heart-eartH) = 39 (Utopia), signifying the opposition between Yuma and Faker, and Faker was also controlled by Vector.
There's also some which I'm not entirely sure about whether they're signifigant:
(107 (Tachyon Dragon, first Over-Hundred Number seen)+ 46 (Draggluon))/9 = 17 (Leviathan Dragon, first ever Number seen)
101 (Ark Knight)- 32 (Shark Drake, Tron used it to control Shark) = 69 (Heraldry Crest, Tron's ace)

Those are actually pretty interesting calculations. Speculation, but kind of cool to see.

No. 107 + 46 /9 = 17 is a huge stretch (why divide by 9? There's no significance with the 9). You could just as easily look at 107, remove the 0, and get 17. 107 = first Over-Hundred revealed. 17 = first Astral Number seen.

In my defence, I hadn't watched the subs for those episodes (I'm assuming they exist now), so I wouldn't have known that.

Ah, my apologies.

I've used Dailymotion for subs. Last I checked, they have subs up to (but not including) Utopia Roots' debut. So you're behind like...8-9 episodes or so.

Ahh, I heard about this Alco kid earlier. It seems... rather strange, introducing a new character this late in. This "Closed Eight" is probably another RUM, though that still leaves the question of "What's Numeron Fall's significance?" That, and Kaito's turning on his card creating powers from Episode 43 again, to get 62. Interesting.
