only she's not really annoying at all.

To Yuma or to us? I find her to be an utterly useless character who is such a blatant cheerleader like half of all Yu-Gi-Oh female side characters. They exist to witness Duels and say the protagonist's name frequently with a worried expression.

Well, annoying in the sense of being non-likable. But practically she's a trite character that seems to be significant but really isn't. And what you said summarizes my thoughts of Kotori. Alexis, Aki, and even Tea were better women protagonists.

At least Tea dueled somewhat competently in the Virtual World arc. Kotori only ended up dueling because they wanted some of Yuma's friends to be brainwashed.

Speaking of which, I wonder what would have happened if they had tried that on Shark or Rio instead, considering they were Barians... I mean, Vector appeared to be brainwashed when he was pretending to be Rei (and I just found out that Rei's English name is Ray Shadows, how very subtle), but was the brainwashing actually working or was he faking?

Would have raised a lot of awkward questions if it didn't work.

Shark: Did you just thrust a glowing card at me?
Gilag: What? Uh.... Oh crap, this like, never hppens, man...

Shark: Hey! That's Rank-Up Magic Barian's Force!

Gilag: Yeaaaaaah... how are you not a mind puppet now?
Shark: Curbstomp!

Vector's the only example of a Barian character who got brainwashed, and with the depth of his masquerade, he might have been faking. (Yeah...that dub name has no subtlety. A clearly "dark" name rarely is subtle.)

I find it just as likely that the Barians cannot brainwash Number holders. The only inconsistency with that thought is that Alit successfully brainwashed Gauche immediately after giving him Number 54, but again...he GAVE him Number 54. The entire point of them doing the brainwashing in the first place was because they cannot use Rank-Up Magic or their Over-Hundred Numbers outside of the Barian's Sphere Field, and those cards are necessary to claim Numbers (CXyz because they're Barian weapons that evidently can also kill Barians if played against them, and Over-Hundreds due to being Barian Numbers).

Nice episode.

I noticed Tron in the opening, which doesn't really surprise me, since ever since III/IV/V reappeared, he was referenced multiple times.

C15 is creepy. It's got a gatling gun in its MOUTH. *shudder* I also noticed IV's original crest appeared when he Ranked-Up Giant Killer. And judging by his slight straining, using Argent Chaos Force will have the same risks and strain that Barian's Force has on Over-Hundred Number users (Alit and Gilag in particular showed this previously).

It is literally impossible to take it seriously when the card IV plays is "Gimmick Puppet Humpty Dumpty". It sounds so absurdly ridiculous..

I think it's funny and I like it, and given that Gimmick Puppet Egg Head is a thing, I wasn't surprised by it.

I think given that we're seeing all the previously shown characters in the OP and ED, the ZeXal anime might be on its last legs. I'm aware they still have more Numbers to reveal, but it's just a speculation.

Perhaps, but the Japanese version called it "Bomb Egg". Humpty Dumpty is just hilariously out-of-nowhere and inherently funny to hear.

The Gimmick Puppets in the anime were named:

- Baby Face

- Scarecrow

- Giant Killer

- Bomb Egg

- Necro Doll

- Heavens' Strings

- Magne Doll

- Gear Changer

- Night Joker

- Scissor Arms

- Nightmare

- Destiny Leo

- Humpty Dumpty. Wait, what?!

I just realized, the preview for the next episode shows Shark back in his human form. Wonder why he Bariaphosed back?

Other than that, AWESOME episode, and I'm surprised Anna and Fuya managed to actually put Misael on the ropes a bit. Probably just to make contrast for when he kicks their asses next episode, but still.

Number 101 is AMAZING, and I can't wait to see what 103 does. Bit disapointed the Merag/Tetsuo duel didn't get a bit more focus.

Wouldn't surprise me. I mean, Nasch/Shark (I'm still not sure what to call him now...) still has about 4 cards in his hand right now, so he probably could pull off reviving Ark Knight, but that would make this card as deadly as the end of that episode hyped it up to be.

If that's true, of course, that would mean that Anna and Fuya actually managed to DESTROY Tachyon Dragon. If that ends up being what this card does, kudos to them.
