I don't see Shark's Deck changing much, other than new focus on the Over-Hundred Number.

Kaito probably needs time to recharge yet. I thought the previews did vaguely indicate that Kaito and Yuma are together, and that Mizael is pursuing Kaito specifically. But yes, obviously Kaito and Mizael are going to Duel eventually. Key word: eventually. They've only been hyping up this showdown for 60 episodes or so.

I also see Vector being one of the last Barian lords, purely because when he loses, you know Don Thousand is going to pull some crazy shit. Hell, I'm currently expecting Don Thousand to get enough power where he's not reliant on Vector at all, and just takes Vector out himself. After all, Vector gave up his life to revive Don Thousand.

Here's an idea: When Yuma faces Merag she pulls a Yami Malik and pulls out Astral and Rio. I believe you know what happens there.

That wouldn't make any sense in the context of the show at all, though.

Merag isn't an alternate personality of Rio, nor is Astral an alternate personality of Yuma. In the Yami Marik example, Marik had two distinct personalities and the Yugis were two distinct minds. Therefore, they were fair game in the Shadow Duel penalty.

And if the Barians had the power to outright remove Astral from participating in a Duel, there would be no point. Plus, Astral already is in danger of dying/vanishing if Yuma loses against CXyz or Numbers, so this doesn't add any further danger on Yuma's end.

In all honesty, Merag has no major relevence to any of the characters opposing the Barians. If Yuma had romantic interest in her or something (that Tetsuo has) or if Kaito had reason to be worried about her, it'd be different. But before, Rio's value was primarily to Shark (not to say Yuma ISNT concerned about her), and with Shark also a Barian, I'm not sure who her opponent would be, unless she and Nasch do a tag-team Duel or something.

Meanwhile, Nasch is relevent to all the protagonists (because he's Shark), Mizael is Kaito's rival, everyone hates Vector, Gilag is meh, Alit was a friend to Yuma, and Durbe...probably now opposes Yuma most, because HIS rival was Shark.

Oh yeah, I forgot Anna/Fuya/Gauche/Droite show up next episode! Oh joy, oh joy...

Ideal matchups that will likely never happen but would be awesome:

Alit vs Gauch

Fuya vs Misael

Droite vs Merag/Durbe

Anna vs Merag/Gilag

'/' denoting "or" as opposed to "and."

Well, they should at least make the battle with Vector a season finale and save the number war for next season. I'm not ready to see Rio turn to the dark side.

Well the battle with Vector WAS the last episode of the Barian Invasion arc. I don't think it'll be a season finale in english though.

Well.. you better get your body ready. Also Rio won't be shown with the Barians in English for at least 10 months. (Japan is at episode 123, English is at episode 80)

I would expect Gauche to appear in the next episode even though he wasn't present. Also him vs Alit would make sense seeing as Alit brainwashed him with Barian's Force in the first place, and I reckon it'll be an interesting bout as well.

Also it was shown that Anna would be facing Misael.

Anna's got a couple decent cards, and her ace is a arguably the best Rank 10, but against Misael, it would be suicide.

BTW, there was a mistake in the translated dialogue between Nasch and Vector.  Nasch actually told Vector to kill him if Nasch betrayed the Barians, not the other way around.

Wait, seriously?

Actually, that makes more sense than the translated one. Despite the conflict between Vector and the other Barians, Durbe threatened Vector not to keep acting on his own and refusing to take responsibility for failure. Aside from that, Durbe seemed willing to follow Vector's plans, even though Mizael was adamantly opposed. Since Nasch/Shark had been fighting against the Barians, reassuring Vector that he (Nasch) was genuinely supporting the Barian side and permitting him to be taken out should his new allegiance waver seems logical.

Are we sure she's never felt that as a Barian? I mean, we know zilch about Merag as a Barian.

Besides, she still has her memories as Rio, as does Shark. Clearly that's going to influence the way they interact with the good guys.

Shark is the main villian now... man, Zexal has thrown us for some loops. Who would have called THAT after the first dozen episodes?

Well, we HAD been theorizing Shark and Rio were Barians for AGES.

Personally, I never really cared much about any potential of Rio x Tetsuo. Firstly, EVERY male essentially found Rio attractive, and any relevence Tetsuo had to the plot was gone ages ago. And Yuma has so many potential love interests, but Yuma x Rio was an option too. Tetsuo's attraction is sort of a shallow interest than anything, and Yuma's indifferent, last I checked.

They've built up Shark and Rio's relationship to the protagonists, which makes the 'twist' have maximum potential. I hope they actually deliver on this, because too many previous build-ups had weak deliveries.

>Has never seen Key Beetle episode

Well, that was actually revealed in the Sargasso Duel, that the Vector Yuma had first Dueled (Key Beetle) as well as for the first half of that Duel, had been a clone, whereas the real Vector was still posing as Shingetsu.

So you wouldn't have needed to see the Key Beetle episode, just the Sargasso episodes.
