Aerion Brightflame
So wait... does that mean Hope Ray V will be hae to become Hope Ray B? And seriously, that's just like the most pointless name change ever, because it's 1 letter... And that's why OCG names shall forever be in my head. Merci
To be fair, maybe it is Barian. After all, the first mention to it was called 'Barrier Light', and maybe the word barrier is what Barians were intended to be all about in the first place. But I do wonder how they're going to handle Utopia Ray V.
EmpoleMew
It's still pronounced Barian in Japanese anyway. Plus, it's not uncommon for Japanese media to spell things in English one way when the intended spelling is something else.
Aerion Brightflame
The thing of it is, is that it was thought it was going to be Barian, till we saw Rei's badge, clearly saying Varian. Not to mention, it fitting more with Hope Ray V. It's just... such a stupid change this time, even by Konami's standards.
EmpoleMew
Before we knew it was pronounced as the letter V, it was generally assumed that the V was referring to the Roman numeral for 5, because it's a Rank 5 monster.
Azuh
Before we knew it was pronounced as the letter V, it was generally assumed that the V was referring to the Roman numeral for 5, because it's a Rank 5 monster. That's stupid though. V had good intentions cause its a Barian/Varian card, along with V- cards. Now they're just random letters meaning absolutely nothing in TCG land
evilfusion
I've been waiting for the TCG to reveal what the Rank-Up Magic is called. That more or less makes "Barian" official. The Japanese just made it confusing by writing out "Varian" on the badge and then cards like C39-V and V-Salamander... Seriously, that made it unnecessarily confusing. And now I'm probably going to take a week to drift back to using "Barian" instead of "Varian", because pretty much the moment we saw Shingetsu's badge saying "Varian" (plus the "V" support making sense), I've used the term. Sleepy
The original letter would be the "B" version. Konami just tried to force a pun in there by changing the "B" for "V", and made sure it was official with that badge, at least in the anime. Why am I saying this? because ZeXal has many references to atomic terms and properties found in science. Photons, Orbital 7 (which I can't quite remember/find why the number 7 is relevant there... it had to do with the amount of knowledge about the subject aquired so far), and here I present you all the Baryon. About the episode: That episode was DARK! We had axes and killings. Just barely into the episode, and 96 is passing by a wall with hieroglyphics of hanged people. Northern Sage
I swear to god the boulder thing was a reference to the original series. Just the expressions and everything. Vector and Black Mist are pretty incredible together. Astral's new duel disk also looks kind of awesome. Good episode.
Dementuo
Okay, is it just me, or did the faces of characters in this episode look different? More... fatter, wider, or something. It was definitely a different art-style than the slender faces the characters had before.
~British Soul~
Astral's new duel disk also looks kind of awesome. Yeah, I agree. Black Mist's new duel disk looks cool as well.

Bringerofcake
Fixed. I'm curious if Dark Astral and Vector are going to have this sort of Marik and Bakura type relationship after Yuma annihilates Dark Astral with Ray Victory. (seriously, whatever happened to good ol' Hope Ray?) YAY FOR ASTRAL
Merci
(seriously, whatever happened to good ol' Hope Ray?) The same thing that happened to Savior Star Dragon, unfortunately.
~British Soul~
(seriously, whatever happened to good ol' Hope Ray?) The writers got bored of it and decided to give Yuma a new ace for Zexal II.
Northern Sage
A wild ridiculously powerful #65 appears. Both premiering Chaos Numbers seem pretty lacking, though.

Jord200
Dangit Hootcake, I was just about to post that! Also, anyone else notice that we've seen five new Numbers in Zexal II, and all of them have 4, 5, or 6 in them.....? ~British Soul~
Also, guess who's back. Chaos Number 39: Hope Ray. That's who. Yay..... Nice to see the card hadn't been thrown onto the scrapheap. Also le RAW: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xzm12v_yu-gi-oh-zexal-ii-episode-102-hd_fun?search_algo=2#.UYaUL0rgbNM (sure I wasn't here when the new cards were posted, but posting the raw is the real prize)
Northern Sage
That is one arbitrary death trap. And one seriously over the top escape later…

Seriously, one of my favorite duels thus far period. Just awesome.

Although I miss 96's hamminess when he turned into his Varian form.

And holy crap, I hope that track that goes along with C96 is in the upcoming Sound Duel…
