Just going to put this out here. I was able to understand a bit of that whole speech between Yuma ans Kaito. I think Kaito wanted to surrender, but Yuma wouln't let him. He said that fun duels make his heart beat or something along those lines. Also, at the end, you see Astral in what I think is the Emperor's Key, along with Galaxy Queen, Machu Mach, and a Rank 9 Xyz ( probably Heart Earth Dragon or Dyson Sphere ). So now we know for fact that Yuma has all 43 Numbers from the Sphere Field.

EDIT- We have a new Number.

Since the wikia agknowledges the fact that Yuma has all the Numbers that Faker had, let's hope (no pun intended) that Yuma uses different Numbers in Zexal II. The duel against Tron was awesome in the fact that Numbers were spammed left-to-right, and Yuma used different Numbers, but I hope that isn't a 1-off.

Might be late to this, but are the writers Saint Seiya fans?

Just the armour/mask/corny poses.
Anyway, the latest episodes were sort of touching and Tron's last(?) appearance was sad.

Nice to see the Gauche/Droite duo return for...a few seconds to fly Shark to a hospital in their helicopter.-.-
That was great.T_T

I'm still hoping that Rio Kastle will be the Serenity of ZeXal and Droite sort of like Mai.

The showdown with Faker was...okay. It was pretty much a rehash of the Rex duel in 5D's. It real felt like it dragged on, and I haven't seen a great showdown with a villain since Jaden vs. Kagemaru where Jaden trolled the not-God cards with Bubbleman.

The Yuma/Kaito rematch is pretty much a rehash of the Jaden/Zane at the end of GX season 1. One of the players is acting uncharacteristically while the other pummels the crap out of them trying to find out what's wrong, and it looks like the finale will be insane.

Well, that is kind of, the case.

Yuma = Yugi/Jaden
Astral = Atem/Yubel
96 = Bakura
Shark = Joey
Kaito = Seto/Chazz
Haruto = Mokuba
Rio = Serenity
Faker = Godwin
Droite = May
Gauche = Valon?
Tetsuo = Zane's brother (however you spell it)
Weebil = Tokunosuke
Kotori = Tea
Tron = Pegasus/Marik

and probably more stuff I'm missing regarding parallels.
Good thing that, their relationship is not completely the same. DroitexShark wouldn't work like MayxJoey xD
oh and:

This is a rather.... infamous opening for Saint Seiya among fans that speak Spanish.

Okay, watched 72 raw.

I'm not positive on Kaito's emotions, per se, not knowing Japanese to that extent. But I assume that he doesn't have his usual passion for Dueling against Yuma because he has absolutely nothing invested in the Duel. He has no Numbers, Yuma has most, if not all. He's not Dueling to win the Numbers, he's Dueling because Yuma wanted to Duel. He doesn't need the Numbers for Haruto because Haruto seems fine right now.

He's not the type to Duel for fun. Hence, he has no reason to be Dueling. So yeah, he was going to surrender, but was evidently talked out of it by Yuma and Astral.

Yay for random Tron cameo. So he's not dead or anything, and he's reunited with III, IV, and V, plus wearing his mask again. Tron seems to at least have some elements of his powers, since he created that teleporting portal again, so I get the feeling they may return in the future, as allies perhaps. So that makes me think that while III, IV, and V's crests were created by Tron's crest, they lost power because of their origin and downsides (lose a Duel w/powerful Number, soul is exhausted), but Tron's crest doesn't quite have the same flaws. Or it does, and he just has a remnant left. It's not known exactly how he got Barian powers.

But I still note that Tron returned to the world in a child's form, consumed with a desire for vengeance against Dr. Faker. While he seems to have given up the revenge, and his sons' goal of returning him to his former, fatherly self may be somewhat restored, he's STILL in a child's form, warped by the Barian World. That may need resolution.

Looks like next episode, Yuma brings out Excalibur, and Kaito has both Neo and original Galaxy-Eyes out. Interesting.

Can't remember when I last commented in this thread, but it must have been around the conclusion of the Tron Yuma duel (I remember saying ep 66 was epic and not a lot since. Think I commented on 67). Anyway, watched up as far as the series is subbed (ep 71) and these are my thoughts:

On ep 68: Enjoyed the dynamic between Kaito, Shark and Kotori (yes, Kotori was actually a worthwhile inclusion in a scene for once). Also enjoyed the little battle against the trashbots and Heartlands effort (however pathetic) to drop them all in that abyss (not everything has to be about card games). Would have been better if Kaito or Shark had actually done something to his little hover platform, rahter than it just... failing <_< Orbital's death was cool.

The final duel: Enjoyed the start of this, and again the interaction between the three heroes. Like how Shark builds on Yuma and comes up with an intelligent strategy, but it fails, then rinse and repeat with Kaito. False Skeletal God was pretty awesome, and FSG Dragon proper badass. Especially enjoyed the use of Double Up Chance straight away, and it not working compared to its so far game finishing move. Kotori slipped back into her regular irrelevant function. Ultimate Shield was just the most stupidly situational ZW yet.

Barian: A nega Astral, surprise surprise. I do like the idea and the way it was implemented even if it seemed overused, it just works. What disappointed me was how Barian didn't really say much other than generic threats, there was no real reason given (yet) about his goals or anything and when he left Faker I was surprised, he had done so little since he first possessed him I had actually forgotten his existance (even with the two Barian cards)

About the conclusion: Faker turned face and was sorry, more surprise surprise. Again I'm not upset with this though, it worked quite well. Thought Tron reappearing was extremely weird, very dues ex machina out and didn't really make sense to me. Orbital is still alive too, gutted after his heroic sacrifice especially if he won't be seen again anyway, takes the sheen of it. Gauche and Droite appearing for 2 seconds just to take Shark to hospital annoyed me, so Droite x Kaito was just a thrown together last minute plot angle for one episode that won't be covered again then writers? Yuma's first wish was corny, but happy ending feel good, and Kaito's reaction is just boss. Glad he's on the retained list for Series II.

Not really fussed about the Kaito vs Yuma duel though.

Can't quite believe how quickly the second series is coming out. Noticing all these new characters being announced, I take it there is going to have to be a major shuffle and a lot of characters dropped to make room and avoid a complete cluster? (Not that I could care about Takashi, Tokunosuke, Cathy or any of the supporting cast never appearing again).

I only checked the wiki because it took awhile for the episode to come up, but that shouldn't be an excuse tbh. However when I saw that both Yuma and Kaito had used Xyz Double Back, it reminded me of the Jaden/Zane duel.

On a side note, I liked Gauche's reaction when Yuma summoned Excalibur, although typical Droite didn't seem impressed.
Because of fic writing and a particularly difficult duel I had to look at Yuma's deck page (couldn't remember the name of taskerton/reskeleton pig so was only way I could find it, so spoiled myself with the result.

Which is kinda dissapointing, but saying that I had no interest in ever watching these episodes at all I'd have probably never seen it and been able to experience it anyway (if that's come across right). Will watch when subbed now.
Curses! That I hadn't been spoilered.

Still, happy that the Droite x Kaito script is not just going to be left without resolution/disappear like it never happened like I thought.

Don't call me a B--. I was only spoilered with the result when I found the duel summary on the wikia (I would say accidently) whilst waiting for the episode. To be fair, I secretly wanted to avoid the wikia and wait for the episode to pop up, but the temptation got to me.

Whoa. I'm surprised by the Yuma/Kaito duel's outcome... o_o totally unexpected. But an AWESOME decision on the writer's part.

My image of her and IV confronting is slipping away after last episode.
