[spoiler=Spoiler]"Where do you think you're going?" Solasiro asked as he sped towards Lightning. The woman did to sidestep the man's black claws, but he was too fast for her, and his arm went through her stomach. "End of the line, lowly l'Cie."

Mario spun backwards into the air as he fired two fireballs at Squirtle, propelling the little Pokémon into the air as it glowed purple before evaporating. Mario briefly mourned the last before turning to Roxas. Before Mario could strike, the Nobody dropped his Keyblade in surrender.

"Just go," Roxas said. "He's only going to let one of us get through, and I don't want to have more deaths on my conscience." Mario simply shook his head in protest, but Roxas evaporated just like Squirtle did. A series of stairs appeared, connecting the platform Mario stood on to a much higher one. Wasting no time, Mario immediately ran towards it.

Edgeworth and Sherlock stood at a standstill, with no clear victor between the two. That is, until Edgeworth collapsed on the ground suddenly and evaporated. Sherlock watched in confusion, and cautiously approached the stairs that appeared before him.

Soon after, Mario and Sherlock both reached the final platform. Before them stood Solasiro as a woman's body laid before him.

"Congratulations," he smiled with a widespread gesture. "You two are the last two candidates for me."

"Hardly," Sherlock shot back. "Miles Edgeworth neither surrendered, nor was he defeated. He simply vanished through your theatrics, I assume."

"I must admit, he would be more accepting of the reality of magic than you are, but if I need someone to guide this world, then a great detective such as yourself would be far more worthy than a mere prosecutor."

"Guide this world? What in blazes are you talking about?"

"So, you're interested now? Well then, let me tell you. A fal'Cie by the name of Megiddo chose me when I was already a Dark Signer, to become his l'Cie. He cast a spell that slowly but surely blended the omniverse into a single universe. The countless Earths, even other planets, began to become one. He anticipated that this incredibly sudden change would cause a drastic horror among the entire fused world, so he tasked me with finding someone who could unite everyone. Of course, when you have the entire world to take care of, you need someone quite powerful. I have to admit, I believe neither of you are strong enough to take care of this world, but I'm certain that a could change rather easily."

Without warning, Sherlock quickly threw a knife, though Solasiro quickly dodged it as Sherlock fired with his gun.

"Such simplistic toys!" Solasiro taunted. Just then, he was hit into the back with a fireball thrown by Mario. However, he merely shrugged it off, not taking his attention away from the detective. Holding his right hand behind his back, a barrage a violet beams burst out of it and struck Mario. The plumber spiraled backwards from the blast. Suddenly, a stream of light impaled Mario. A similar stream appeared and struck Sherlock.

"Wait, Lord Megiddo, not now!" Solasiro begged. Mario and Sherlock fell forward, and soon their bodies began to radiate with a light blue glow. The two slowly rose to their feet, and as Mario made a wave of his hand, a stream a fire shot at Solasiro. Sherlock took a shot from his gun, and even as Solasiro attempted to dodge, the bullet followed him and exploded as soon as it hit him.

"What just happened?" Sherlock asked himself. Smoke surrounding Solasiro cleared, and the Dark Signer l'Cie tried to catch his breath.

"Just because you two both have new powers, that doesn't mean I'm going to just let you win. If you want to win, then you'll have to defeat me!"

Mario and Sherlock quickly ran in front of Solasiro, Mario holding out one hand while Sherlock held out his gun. With a smile on his face, the detective simply said, "You talk too much."

Sherlock pulled the trigger on his gun as Mario fired flames from his hand. Solasiro was enveloped in the assault while Mario and Sherlock stepped back to avoid the blast. Explosion after explosion swallowed Solasiro. When the smoke clear, they watched in horror as Solasiro transformed before their eyes. Solasiro's entire body turned pitch black, and his shirt was ripped to shreds. His face became that of a wolf's, and a white mane flowed behind his head. A pair of angelic wings spread behind his back as the newly-transformed Solasiro rose into the air.

"This is my ultimate form," Solasiro said monotonously. "Even if Lord Megiddo has chosen you two as his latest l'Cie, you must still defeat me to prove your worth." Raising both of his arms, Solasiro cried out "Hell Thundaja!" as a storm of black thunder began to rain down on Mario and Sherlock. Mario tried to sidestep, but was hit by the thunder no matter where he ran. Sherlock stood his ground as his body was struck by bolt after bolt, aiming his trusty pistol at Solasiro and firing bullet after bullet. Even as the shots exploded once they hit Solasiro, the blast was simply shrugged off. Solasiro descended, and with swift steps, grabbed Mario and Sherlock and shoved their heads into the ground. The platform began to crack beneath them. Solasiro's hands set ablaze, hoping to set the two on fire. However, Sherlock and Mario quickly rose to their feet, each grabbing one of Solasiro's arms, lifted him up threw him onto the floor. Sherlock let go, reach for his pistol, while Mario picked Solasiro up and threw him into the air. Solasiro maintained his balance, as his hands were surrounded with fire and ice, launching each element at Mario.

Suddenly, Sherlock heard several words echo through his mind. He held the gun tight, aimed once more at Solasiro, and uttered what went through his mind.

"Ruinja."

A single bullet shot from the gun, glowing with a bright light fired straight at Solasiro's heart. Solasiro became enveloped in a white light. "Impossible!" Solasiro shouted. "How could you use such high powered magic so soon?"

"The answer is purely elementary. Magic simply doesn't exist."

"You will pay for your ignorance!"

"You've lost, Solasiro. Isn't it obvious?"

Solasiro smiled. "Even so, Lord Megiddo has use for you." His hands began to glow with golden light, and he folded his arms across his chest. His wings followed suit, as Solasiro closed his eyes. "I've completed by Focus, and so I shall be granted eternal life."

"Immortality? Such nonsense. Your delusions know no bounds, do they?"

"You will believe me soon, Sherlock Holmes." With his final words, Solasiro's form turned pure gold, solid before it vanished completely.

Mario and Sherlock fell to their knees, smiling at their apparently victory. However, their celebration did not last long. A transparent suit of silver armor stood before them, with metal tips in place of hands and feet. The helmet of the armor was adorned with a crescent shape. The armor approached the two, but they could clearly see that the suit of armor was transparent.

"Congratulations, my new l'Cie," the armor said cheerfully. "Oh, perhaps I should introduce myself. I am Megiddo, the fal'Cie that Solasiro spoke of. I admit that I hadn't anticipated people such as yourselves to be the champions of Solasiro's Focus, but you will be sufficient to my plans."

"Who are you?" Sherlock asked. "What do you want?"

"The answer to that is, as you would, elementary. Solasiro spoke of the omniverse, if you recall. You see, the omniverse is a grand, infinite canvas of unlimited potential. I simply long to see all that potential coalesce into a single world. My magic has allowed me to blend countless universes together, but it is thus far incomplete, so I need someone who could maintain order within this world while I perfect things. Of course, Solasiro just told you some of that, right? Well, I can't be too careful and just let my l'Cie be forgetful, can I?"

"You did all of this out of curiosity?"

"For science, unity, and perfection, to be precise. I have been fascinated by limitless possibilities, and that is my simple drive. Worry not, though. Those who have perished will be restored, and you will continue where Solasiro left off."

"So you just plan to let everyone go? Let them repeat all the chaos they have wrought?"

"That's what I have you two for. I trust you will fulfill your Focus."

With that, Megiddo's shape faded into nothing. The spacial surroundings soon disappeared, and the ground beneath Sherlock and Mario faded away, revealing a plain desert. The blue sky was above them, and the sun shone bright. They each looked at the left wrists, and found a mark branded into their flesh. They had defeated Solasiro, but a new mission awaited them.

~One Week Later~

"I'm telling you guys, it's all true!" Roxas told Axel and Xion. "Just ask Zexion."

"Look, Roxas," Axel said, "I believe you and all, but don't you know what will happen if word of this reaches Xemnas? He's going to get way more interested in it than we need him to be, and he'll probably see this as another way to take over the universe or whatever hell he's planning. For now, this stays our little secret."

"I assume I'm included in this 'little secret?'" Zexion asked, stepping before the trio.

"Well, look who decided to be all social for once!" Axel taunted.

"Enough with you sarcasm," Zexion snapped. "You're right that Xemnas need not know about this, but we mustn't act too suspicious. Perhaps we can investigate. I'll see if I convince Saïx to give us more themed missions. Perhaps it could allow us to arrive to a way we can resolve whoever is behind this mixed world we have found ourselves entangled in."

Xion chuckled. "It's nice for you to be so friendly for a change, Zex!"

"Don't get used to it," Zexion warned. "Consider this nothing more than a partnership for the sake of the mutual benefit of knowledge."

Axel shook his head. "Sheesh, you're starting to sound like Vexen."

Meanwhile, in heaven...

"God, sir!" Dokuro said. "I'm sorry I'm so late, I couldn't find- Who are you?" To her shock, she saw Mateus Palamecia sitting upon God's throne. "Get off that seat, whoever you are! Only God is allowed to sit in their!"

Mateus simply laughed. "How naive of you to think I needed such a reminder. I'm well aware that only I may sit here. After all, wouldn't your god take his throne if it was his?"

"W-What are you saying?"

"I'm saying that I am God, foolish little girl. Pester me any further, and I will show to you that I am a vengeful one."

Suddenly, three men stood before Mateus: Jecht, Kratos, and Kenpachi.

"Heh, yeah right, Mateus," Jecht smiled.

"Such arrogance," said Kratos.

"If you're supposed to be God," Kenpachi said, "Then you better prove it to me."

Mateus laughed maniacally. "How quaint! To think the three of you would stand before me like the brutes you are."

"You mean the four of us!" Appearing behind the three warriors was none other than Dante. "What's wrong with you guys? Starting the party without me? Come on, how could you let me miss out on the deicide?"

Kenpachi rolled his eyes, or at least the one that was visible. "Not that word."

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Now this is more fitting," Mateus said as he rose from his throne. "Four warriors who have experienced darkness in their own ways. Such a pity that you will have to face your untimely demise here."

Dante readied his Ebony and Ivory, Jecht and Kratos took stances with their blades, and Kenpachi ripped off his eyepatch. They all nodded at one another before turning to Mateus, ready to begin their epic battle.

At the Fifteenth Annual Pokémon National Championship, the final battle was about to begin between Gary Oak and Gold. The audience was packed with countless people, many excited to watch the two battle, while others couldn't help but ask themselves what they were even doing there.

"What am I even doing here?" Kain Highwind, Miles Edgeworth, and Roy Mustang asked themselves.

"Go, Typhlosion!" Gold called out.

"Come on out, Umbreon!" Gary Oak yelled.

The two Pokémon stared each other down, as did their trainers, for they too were about to begin an epic battle.

Eria sat in her seat. She was dressed in full black, looking upon the graves of her five closest friends. She couldn't remember what had happened since she was taken to Solasiro's tower. In her hand, she held a letter signed to her by Gagagigo, who wrote that he had gone off to "accept Kozaky's offer." Her tears smeared the ink, leaving her no choice but to crumple it up and keep it in her pocket. She laid five bouquets of flowers on each gravestone, kneeling before them.

"Hiita...Lyna...Dharc...Aussa...Wynn." She fought back her tears, ashamed that she wasn't with them in their final moments. "I will always love all of you, and I'll never forget the time we spent together. I just wish we could have stayed together longer. Why... why did it have to be you? Why did you have to die? Gagagigo... where are you?"

"Gagagigo's gone?"

"Eria, what are you crying about?"

Eria held back her tears. Slowly, she turned around, and she saw her five friends standing, very much alive. She turned her head to the graves, then back to her friends.

"What the hell is this about?" Hiita demanded. "Did you think we were dead or something? Oh for the love of-"

"You said Gagagigo is missing," Wynn said. "Did something happen?"

Eria didn't answer. She got up on her feet, and ran towards Dharc. She then gave a hug to Wynn, Aussa, Lyna, and Hiita, much to the latter's distress.

"What are you doing?" Hiita continued.

"I-I thought you all died..."

"What? Eria, stop daydreaming."

"Leave her alone!" Lyna snapped.

"Alright, alright."

"I'm serious, Eria," Wynn said. "Where is Gagagigo? If you think we died for one reason or another, then what does he think?"

Eria looked away from them, trying to find the right words to say. "Gagagigo... is going on a journey. He didn't say when he'd be back but..."

"I'm sure whatever it is, it must be important!" Aussa remarked with a smile. "Don't worry, Eria, Gagagigo's tough, and I'm sure he'll be back when he does what he needs to do!"

"Thanks, Aussa."

Sherlock and Mario had returned to the plain where Castlevania once stood. Sherlock was younger, sporting a full head of black hair and facial hair. Mario looked as he had before, but was ready to face Sherlock Holmes.

"It's strange," Sherlock said as he slowly raised his left hand. "In just one week, I've gotten younger than I've been in years. And the nonsense power we were told to have received, I can feel it in my blood. I never thought I would say this, but I think that magic isn't just mythical smokes and mirrors. Whatever this is, it's real. We have to make sure we can master it." Mario shook his head, remaining as silent as ever. "Perhaps, we could match our magics against one another?"

And so they did.

Author's Notes: Incredible amounts of thanks to Atman for putting together the amazing medley to commemorate the finale.

I have no idea why Mario came till here.

You hate Mario, you hate Pokemon... do you have some brain defect which disables you from recognizing good video game franchises?

On that note, as much as I loved Sherlock Holmes, Mario is just awesome.

While Sherlock Holmes will always be awesome, Mario has been my favorite Video Game Character since I could understand what was going on around me. (I mean I bought a flippin Red Mushroom Plush at the age of 16 yesterday!)

Gotta vote for my favorite Plumber Brother.
