Master Red
I am now completely in love with Medea's personality and you will see more from her pov in the future xP STAB is basically that an attack increases its power a bit if it's used by a pokémon of the same type as the type of the attack, i.e a water type attack used by a squirtle

Master Red
well, due to the introduction of a new character it's going to be a while longer but I'll definately let you know when we're time skipping to the next day. Sorry for the slowness, but I can't just time skip when people are actually having dialogues going on and stuff :/

Hydra of Ages
I am now completely in love with Medea's personality and you will see more from her pov in the future xP STAB is basically that an attack increases its power a bit if it's used by a pokémon of the same type as the type of the attack, i.e a water type attack used by a squirtle
A "bit"? As of Black/White, STAB accounts for 50% of the attack's base power; an attack used without STAB is only functioning at 66% potential power. In any case, it's a pity the Sandstorm petered out. I kinda wanted Blaine to enter, and by doing so, banish the Sandstorm (Because he's holding Ilia, Ilia's ability is Drought, and new Weather Conditions supersede existing ones...) and wonder why everyone looks so dusty. Master Red
Well I didn't know the exact amount it increased it by (I guessed it was 50% but wasn't sure) so I decided to go with a numberless amount to not give false information. STAB might not be exactly that powerful in this RP and things without a STAB won't be weaker (unless it would be a water pokémon using a fire move or something as it's quite unnatural to them). Basically STAB in the RP is that same type pokémon+attack is a bit stronger than usual, this is just to prevent any attacks for becoming extremely over powered very quickly. Hydra of Ages
If my Lickilicky gains Explosion, I fully expect it to level a city. (Explosion + STAB = 375 base. The equivalent of two and a half typical Hyper Beams.)
fenrir
Hydra, Sandstorm is still raging technically. At least it should be, as it lasts like what, 5 turns? It should last for like 10 or so minutes. EDIT: Or not...
Master Red
I never put a time on how long it was raging in my post, I just said "when it faded" so that could very well have lasted for 10 minutes.
Quiksilver
Aw, Sam's such a gentleman. I always wondered about stuff like that- why doesn't some evil organization capture a lot of Pokemon and have them use Explosion/Hyper Beam/whatever and take down a city and whatnot? Seems a lot more effective than what Team Rocket and those people have done in the past.
The Warden
I did once see a comic called 'Pokemon Terrorism'. It involved a Rocket Grunt firing a pokeball from a rocket launcher over a city. It then released a Wailord, who then crushed it.
Hydra of Ages
I've kinda wondered why every criminal organization doesn't just get a bunch of Meowth and the like, and have them use Payday for hours on end, picking up the cash and funding everything that way. Come and think of it it, I do often wonder how a currency that can be naturally generated by a species commonly used as pets could hold water. The Warden
That, that is a pretty good question. Although, it is funny how the actual Meowth on the show didn't know how to do it. So, maybe some Meowth just don't got it.

Master Red
of course we won't allow destroying cities O__o (NO POKÉMON JIHAD!) And why would one destroy a city when one can benefit a whole lot more from taking over said city?

Master Red
It's okay, everyone slips up sometimes and it can be easy to forget this rule sometimes. As long as it's not happening all the time or causes a whole lot of posts between just two people there's not mkuch of a harm done (I'm not encouraging people to break this rule just because I'm not so strict on the slip ups for it though).
The Warden
Why not establish a rule that, if two characters are alone, they can forgo the rule and post 6 times, which is three posts each. After that the rule then comes into place.
Master Red
I might do something like that, but 6 posts is still quite a lot (depending on how much text they contain ofc.), I'll be talking to the others and we might establish some kind of additional exception (like in the case of pokémon battles)

Also, why, in the games, do the evil teams have to face the good guys in Pokemon battle? Why don't they just have a bunch of Weezings or Skuntank hit them with a knockout gas or something, and avoid the battle altogether?
