And pin our topics... unpin others... wait, on the other hand... *insert more evil plans here*

But it would change nothing TBH, as mods can ban that guy/(un)pin the topic again

All the ideas above me about the usage of points are very awesome ideas! Hopefully YCMaker takes all of these suggestions for serious consideration. I mean points are really obsolete now for this website unless there's a very good reason for us to have a points system.

I also have a suggestion, how about when you get a certain amount of points like 10,000 or 15,000 points, you can pay a fee to apply for a Moderation Job, maybe the price could be around 10,000 to 20,000 points and specific level members can only buy this moderator position, maybe level 5 or higher members can apply and pay for the position and their could only be three available mod positions per year? I dunno, its just a suggestion.

SOME of them should, some of them shouldn't.
EDIT: I liked the mod job idea AsterikcAde.
I mean the Moderation job is not permanent for this suggestion, maybe if the applicants sign for the three available mod jobs the limit is up to a year unless you pay 5,000 points after one year of your subscription of becoming a temporary mod..............yeah....that is a nice idea! YCMaker, please consider all of the suggestions on this thread for review, it'll be very much appreaciated!

Because spamming to become mod is a good idea.

Use common sense, fellas.
Maybe there should be rules and guidelines in order for the members to have a temporary job as a moderator? When I suggested this I meant for the normal YCM members to have a temporary moderator job for an applicable fee for maybe a year and the full time mods can still be handpicked, maybe the mod team should oversee the guidelines and rules for a temporary mod position, it's just a suggestion, a far fetched but possible suggestion...

If people start buying Modship, people like me'll instantly start perma-banning anyone who objects against him/her. As much as I'd love that I feel it's better without.

Also, even though I would never care about that and leave it the same, some people with fahsionable skills could like the idea of being able to customize your profile background for points.

Again, you expect a "rule" or a "guideline" to stop people from abusing such a thing....trust me when I say, having people pay to be moderator is an awful idea. Think of YCM as a government, would you want idiots (who happen to have money) pay to be your country's leader?

Points to me have always been like a slightly lower form of the Rep. Back in the lden days, we could actually see what People Repped us for with a nice Description. Now it's simply a Green or Red Number... Perhaps there could be a way to add a "Points Database" inside each Members Profile. These could list every time a person gives or recieves Points with a Description as well.

Also Reps = Hamburgers & Points Cookies. The Reps are for Great things and the Cookies are a nice afterthought :)

Also some of those ideas Warheit mentioned seem like a great idea. Perhaps changing another Persons Avatar for a laugh :P

[s]make an online game on the forum going on the guide lines of mafia wars using points as currency, where people with less points can work there way up, by working with people with more point and people with greater amounts of points are "bosses" that fight againts each other and even steal points.

of course this wont be as lame and faggoty as mafia wars, because it will be called something like [s]"YCM BATTLE"[/s] f*** "something based off mafia wars wtf am i thinking, damnit im a f***ing idiot[/s]

damnit i dont care what you guys do to it

Get rid of them. Points, like money, lead to greed imo.
theres no point of money if we dont spend it.

i say we use it as currency so we may trade among eachother.

with real yugiohcards and points.

Perhaps upgrades to our profiles and accounts in general, I think.Maybe you could pay 1000 points or something, and you'd be able to change the color or font (Although the font thing is pretty rejected) of the text in your profile. Maybe you can change a bit of the theme of the profile, like color or patterns.Maybe you should be able to buy themes for the site with points.Name changes for sure.

Good Idea. Me likey this...

OR, we could have a card database similar to yugioh wiki and members buy the "cards" and it gets listed as trophies on their profile.

Nice.

In the top right hand corner of YCM is the Points button. I think it is like a shop, why can't we use that for something.

Yeah. Would about if we could BUY name changes? Like we could either buy them with points or wait for the 3 month thing to end.

i remember the site did something like that way back when.

Its where most of my points went.

Frankly, i think we should keep them for things such as contest/shops....otherwise those things would be pointless.
