DL
At first, I merely picked it up as a part of Monthly Shonen Jump I didn't expect it to be that good. And then I fell in love. Still reading the series today.
hexcalibrate
does it give anyone a headache over the fat it's a manga thats about trying to create the perfect manga and defeat all other manga, which would mean that the manga then beats the real life one and therefore decreasing the value of the real life one and the fictional one, meaning that the best manga causes it to be the worst. am i the only one who thinks that makes sense?
Fusion X. Denver
Nah bro, because their perfect manga would surpass the manga they're in as well, so mangas that beat Bakuman in ratings wouldn't necessarily do the same against their perfect manga. If that makes sense.
hexcalibrate
any way, has anyone else ever tried to write thier own manga, it's ruddy hard, you have admire the author for coming up with making a manga about making a manga.
Fusion X. Denver
It's interesting because apparently no one did it before >.> I'm grateful to the mangaka because now I know more about the workings behind manga selection at Jump, the poll results, etc. Makes me appreciate the job more. I could never write my own manga because my drawings suck :/ Though if I were to team up with an artist, I could pull a Takagi.
Legend Zero
Does anybody else besides me want Trap and PCP to become real mangas? They're really interesting.
hexcalibrate
i'm rather intrested in what crows about, that makes no sense to me.
Fusion X. Denver
Trap-Maybe. I could live with just a one-shot, but the manga would be cool. PCP-Most definitely. Crow-I do want to see it. The one other thing I don't get...is that Jump seems to only have the mangas of the main characters. What happened to the Big 3? Is it that over the span of years in Bakuman, the mangas ended already? I'd think at least One Piece would still be around .-.
hexcalibrate
they are still running i think but since this fictional i don't think any real life manga's will be seen other than when essential.
Fusion X. Denver
It's just that they've referenced a lot of actual manga like Naruto and One Piece, so they definitely exist in their universe.. Unless all the new mangas have outshined them to the extent they're in last place @.@
hexcalibrate
nah, do you honestly think bleach would loose to otters 11, pcp maybe, but since otters got 150 chapters before getting canceled, if one of the big 3 had got canceled it would have happened in that time. Fusion X. Denver
Yeah I doubted that was the reason, though it's still a conundrum to me.
hexcalibrate
they're probably still going strong but since they're all ready great, you don't really get to see any growth like the other manga's.
DL
I think they have already ended at this time. It would make sense. Also, I could definitely pull a Takagi with an artist. Especially because I could make names, since my drawings are good, just not profesional-level. And I most definitely want PCP to be an anime. And Crow, because it seems interesting. It seems like it would be just another Shonen fighter, but it must be quite special to always beat Ashirogi Mutou.
Fusion X. Denver
I think the mangaka of Bakuman (what's his name?) will do 1-shots of all those mangas at some point, like the 1st chapter for each.
DL
I would love them to. And it's THEM Takeshi Obata (artist) Tsugumi Ohba Come on, man, they also worked on Death Note. Actually, what they could do is that, and the one-shots that do the best, they'll turn into series. <333333333
hexcalibrate
i didin't know it was them, LOL they referenced their own work.
DL
I thought everyone knew XD Yes, they referenced Death Note several times in the beginning At one point, I had a theory they were going to end up thinking up Death Note as their "Variant Proper Battle Manga" But the Death Note references ruined the possibility. hexcalibrate
i wonder what the "Variant Proper Battle Manga" will be, and hopefully it will be like advertisement for a real version of their new "Variant Proper Battle Manga".
DL
Anything that can beat PCP is bound to be amazing. Classroom of Truth was also really interesting. I was positively sad when I couldn't read it anymore >; I change my mind, I want Classroom of Truth to be a manga.
hexcalibrate
no, that mangas evil!it's going to be crushed by PCP
DL
Eh...I don't like the guy who made it But I DO like Classroom of Truth regardless @_@ And back when the guy was like, all innocent and stuff, I liked him So I still like Classroom of Truth, regardless of...anything. Taichi Masaki
I know I'm in the minority but I wished Tanto lasted longer or atleast got an anime. Tanto seems like the thing to watch when your like 5 or 6 watching on Saturday mornings and such. a good 10-15 years later you look back on Tanto all nostalgic and think "Oh man that show was so awesome". Tanto and PCP have huge nostalgia factor.
DL
Tanto, definitely. Not sure about PCP just because kids are in it. Of course, In the long run they're all good mangas I'd even want to read Otters 11.
