"Oh fuuuuu..." Kazu almost swore, biting his index finger to cut it off. "Somebody didn't freeze the sushi special for the required six months," he quipped. Inwardly, he was seriously grossed out. The thing was like the zit of the century mixed with the worm from hell. If he was any less worked up, he might have thrown up. Beside him, Leor gagged and hissed.

"I eat something with that in it?" he coughed and scrubbed at his tongue with his paws. Kazu smiled a bit, watching the DABU from the corner of his eye, Leor with another and the rest of his team. He spotted Hiro and his partner powering up a blow. A pretty big one by the looks of it. He glanced back at Leor, watching the sparks generated from his agitation. That brought a full smile to his face. "Leor, lets put that anger to good use," Kazu hinted, jabbing a finger at the squid.

"Huh? Oh. OH!" Leor realized with a feral grin. He roared, pumping up the juice. The yellow gold currents danced along the cat's body. He kept building power as gizumon did, knowing from the training and the first part of the battle just how effective carefully timed attacks could be. He roared again as gizumon's attack shot over them. Five bolts of lightning lanced out to follow the beam on it's course, ready to add it's own power to the blow.

Kai stared at the thing, too stunned to move. Though he wasn't looking at her, he could tell that Rena was stunned too. Whatever it was, it was huge. Or rather, he corrected himself, that thing that...something was controlling was huge. He shook his head, unable to comprehend what was happening. That's...not natural. Though of course, his thought had no impact. By definition, all DABO's and EGL's were not natural, so really, there was no reason to be surprised. He glanced around, and saw that everybody shared his shock; or did he share theirs? "Rena," he whispered, then, louder, "Rena!" His call jolted her out of her stupor. She looked toward him. "Your ranged attacks haven't been doing anything, so try and get inside that thing. Maybe you'll find what's been causing this." She nodded, before leaping high into the air. To orient herself, she did a backflip, and landed hard, then took off running. "But be careful," he added quietly. He glanced over at Emiko, worried about her reaction. Unable to read her, he scooted closer to her, ignoring the pain in his chest.

(OoC Note to Hydra: You completely ignored my attack! )

Arachnimon stood still and waited. Nothing that was thrown at this monster worked so far, apart from his own Molten Collision. But that wasn't meant to do much damage on its own. Instead, it was meant to slowly eat away at the DABO's data, which Arachnimon would eventually absorb. Suddenly, a piece of skin broke off from where it was struck, and data poured its way through to Arachnimon. This seemed to be a sign of relief for the insectoid EGL.

'Mwaha, it's working,' Arachnimon thought, 'Now, this is the part where that thing gets weaker and I grow stronger. And during the moment I get strong enough, I should be able to rid myself of this stupid leash once and for all. Yeah, I'll dispose of this leash, even if I have to digivolve first!'

Emiko stood frozen once she witnessed for herself how the monster actually looked. It was grotuest, and horribly disfigured. She barely heard the beaping of her leash telling her what the name of this new bread of digimon was. It was almost unreal. Emiko wasn't sure if she was scared or just simply shocked into immovability. It wasn't until she heard Hiro's Gizumon yell his attack did she come back too, and she quickly looked around to make sure Tsunamon was alright.

"I'm right here." Tsunamon said. Emiko relaxed her tensed muscles before looking back at the Digimon. None of her attacks seemed to have been having any effect on it so all she could really do at the moment was watch.

Rika was going to respond to Gala's plan with an acidic response when a sudden breaking noise alerted her. Turning back to the creatures, she saw that the Gizumon had been successful in their attempts to pull up the EGLs; a large, writhing mass hung in the air, supported by the Gizumon, a medley of swirling tentacles and colors. The colors in particular were strange; barring the entire strangeness (and grossness) of the Digmon, there was something off. With a sudden realization, Rika saw that there was a third monster in the mix, a white in between the red of the Octomon and blue of the Gesomon. The burst of data that came to her Leash and informed her of the ParasiFujitsumon was all she needed to connect the dots.

"It's controlling those Digimons' minds?" She shouted, and a second shout a second later told her Leiko had come to the same conclusion. "That's really...stupid. I mean, if you're going to possess something, make it something that can, I dunno, go out of the water? Or perhaps, one that had more range, or can do more damage?" Rika shook her head. "These poor Digimon, not blessed with brainpower like us. I mean, like some of us," she amended, glancing pointedly at Kazu. Then, finally, she turned back to the creature, hanging like a pinata.

Though she might be currently extolling the faults of the parasite, the truth was the sudden development presented a bit of a dilemma. They had expended a lot of power battering the puppets, as Leiko called them, while the real perpetrator sat peaceably on the seafloor. If they hadn't lifted the creature, they might have never discovered the real bad guy- a creature which still controlled two powerful Digimon.

"Alright, Coronamon." She turned to her partner, who looked at her, ready to go. "I know you've almost exhausted this attack, but another Corona Flame. Actually, as many as you can. Aim for that white mass. Got it?"

Coronamon nodded solemnly, and turned and focused his power. The fire blazed strong on his forehead, and then, with a sudden release, he loosed a barrage of fireballs, soaring straight for the white, writhing creature that was ParasiFujitsumon.

(OOC: Stalfos, I did not. Check the first sentence of the fourth paragraph.)

Leiko felt like a truck hit her as Hiro's Gizumon tapped into her leash for additional power. Though she knew it technically wasn't -her- energy they were taking, the bond she unfortunately shared with Kunamon caused both DABO and Tamer to feel the price of giving too much of yourself in one attack. The pain was horrible, but she gritted her teeth and bore it out as the Gizumon charged up its deadly laser.

Then there was a flash of red lightning across the sky as the beam arced through the sky like a bullet. For a split second, time stopped and even the crashing of the ocean was silent; then it was over, the deadly red light removed from eyesight, and a neat hole punched through the twin centers of the horrific chimera. The wind whistled quietly through what had been Gesumon's jaw and the core that had once held the dark eyes of Octomon.

And yet, there was still movement; a spastic twitch of a tentacle, a slight tilting of the head that couldn't have been from gravity. A greyish-white blob, a formless mass, began to slide into the data-laced gaping hole left in the puppet.

One of the Gizumon operators swore loudly in a foreign language, but was cut off as a sudden boom of electricity following the beam slammed directly into the mass, causing it to freeze up and tear at the corners of its host with yet-invisible claws, poking more holes in the data. Data-lined steam dropped from its form, and it finally released its stranglehold on the rest of the form; it fell and dropped, a white teardrop in comparison to the Goliath of meat it left behind, falling back into the deep, safe oceans...

A barrage of fireballs struck it directly, causing it to shriek loudly in that musicial tongue. For a few seconds it filled the air with garbled screeching, unintelligible but obviously malevolent- and then everything was silent.

A moment past.

The parasite exploded into a rainbow, cascading over the ocean, followed quickly by what remained of its sky-scraper sized suit. The air was filled quickly with shining, shimmering particles of every color in the spectrum, diamond-shaped fragments that ride the wind and swirl around almost chokingly, like a mist- yet with an enticing golden aura about them that underscored their preciousness.

Kunamon, antenna hanging low from exhaustion, opened her beak only briefly; her entire body glowed as she assimilated the shards of power into her body, reinforcing the lost data with any of that around her. The air was so thick with the precious matter that none of the humans could see more than a foot in any direction, let alone into the faces of their compatriots.

Still, the sounds of jubilation reached everyone from their Leash. The Gizumon operators whooped loudly, laughing and audibly clasping hands with those around them over the ComLink.

"We did it! You Did eet, my friends!" the foreign man called, cackling like a madman. "Zat DABO was the strongest DARTS has defeated yet! My friends, zis is MAGNIFICENT!"

(OOC: My bad, I kinda skimmed it last time I checked)

Arachnimon didn't bother to manually absorb any data, as he felt he already drained his fair share of data through Molten Collision's effect, even before the DABO exploded into shards of data as such beings do once defeated, the Molten Collision virus dissipating along with it. Ironically, the amount Arachnimon drained was nowhere near the same percentage that Gala had read out earlier, as he was asked how much of the data was infected by the virus.

"Sorry if you guys didn't get enough, but I believe Arachnimon has some explaining to do," Gala looked over at his own EGL. Arachnimon sighed, supposing he should just get this explanation over and done with.

"OK, you're right," Arachnimon admitted, before turning to address the rest of the Inverse Unit, "You see, your attacks only managed to defeat this monster because it was affected by a virus that I inflicted it with, when I performed my Molten Collision attack. This virus greatly amplifies the damage of any attacks that hit the inflicted DABO. But at the same time, once the outer layer is broken, my body immediately absorbs the infected data, even before the inflicted DABO is destroyed. You're lucky we've managed to defeat that thing this early, otherwise you wouldn't be able to absorb any data at all."

Hiro had been straining to keep a hold of himself, but by the end of the attack, he had already collapsed onto the cold sand; his left arm held aloft like a gross marionette by the cable that connecteed his leash to Leiko's. Likewise, after the attack Gizumon's eye lens faded quickly; shutting down to conserve what little energy he had left. Naturally he had used more of his own leash's energy than Leiko's, enough to keep her functioning well, but not enough to keep this duo going in a conscious reality. His Leash however did beging to automatically absorb the data that was thickening the air.

Emiko had completely ignored all of the wooping and hollering from the gizumon operators originating from her leash. She wasn't really paying attnetion to much of anything, not even the dancing Tsunamon right in front of her continuously singing, "We did it! We won! We did it! Oh yeah!". Emiko was looking at the massive amount of data that came from the defeated digimon. It sparkled with so many colors Emiko couldn't help but be entranced. Her facial expression didn't change but the way she simply stared at the data, it wasn't hard to determine that she was in awe by the specticle before her.

Rika, after having checked that Coronamon was okay- he had collapsed after sending out the fireballs, though this was luckily due to exhaustion and nothing else- had began partying along with all the rest, shouting gleefully into the air. Coronamon began to recover as well, absorbing the data hanging thick in the air; in a second he was jubilantly dancing beside his partner. Above all the noises of jubilation, relief, and exhaustion, however, Rika heard the voice of the newcomers- Gala and his Digimon- start to explain something. She squinted, barely able to make out his form, and listened to what they said. A frown descended on her face. Finally, after Arachnimon had finished, she yelled a response,

"Yeah, and so what? We got enough to go around. Thanks for informing us, but we all played a big part in defeating this creature; I'm pretty sure we were able to get a lot of data from this creature. Though, Cor could use all the data he could get- not that that's an insult!" Rika amended hastily as Coronamon shouted "Hey!" in outrage. "It's nothing personal, it's...oh, boy." Rika sighed.
