DARTS - Digimon Assault Response and Tactical Advisement Sector
Clearance Level Beta {Research}

Unlike cabron-based creatures, DABOs are capable of rudimentary controlling the element of their makeup- they can manipulate the data in their bodies using pre-determined shortcuts within their nervous system that correspond to specific exchanges of data in their body.

In more simple terms, Digimon have "Programs" downloaded into their minds that allows them to change the data in their bodies into different forms- this is what allows, for example, Greymon to release a gout of flame from its muzzle, or Mailbirdramon to generate self-propelled rocket blasts from its wings.

These programs seem to typically be activated by vocal command, corresponding to the name of the program. Greymon announcing "Mega Flare" activates the subliminal program that allows him to change some of his data into a massive blast of fire.

EGLs, much like all other DABO, have access to their own sets of programs. Though EGLs appear to develop programs as they age and consume more data, Leashes typically have the capacity to give a list of known programs to the Tamer. A Tamer announcing the program is sufficient to activate that program- thus, it is possible for a Tamer to 'call' the attacks of their EGL, rather than necessitating that EGL to call their own techniques.

Hiro, Kai and Kazu entered the training room at relatively the same time. Though they were a few minutes later than he would have desired, Yukio made no outward sign that he had noticed their slight tardiness.

"You will train special techniques, as the others are doing-" he said, gesticulating to the two girls who had already begun- "As today's warm up. We will then move to a live skirmish. It will be far more difficult than usual, in order to prepare you for your first DABO combat scenario," he said smoothly.

Leiko thrusted her hand out. "Again!" she declared- Kunamon responded by twisting her body in the air. "Hyper Stinger!" she said, the serrated blade at the edge of her tail glowing with bright data as it slammed downward with significant explosive force, creating a shallow, but wide crater in the bare ground.

"Today will be your first practice using 'live' targets," Yukio added.

It was kind of perplexing really. Did Hiro and Gizumon really need to practise, considering Gizumon are capable of only one attack, and it's not exactly the safest to use with all these partner Digimon around. 'Ummm, if you will Yukio' Hiro spoke aloud.

'I think it would be best if Gizumon and I stayed out of the technique training. Gizumon's unique property will make it awkward and we wouldn't want to jeopardize the other tamers or their partners. So, if oyu want us, we'll just be standing over in one of the corners' he finished. It was awkward, but, it was for the best. Frankly, when it came to fight the DABO, they were only there so the data of the destroyed beast could be more easily absorbed.

Emiko was too busy watching Tsunamon and monitoring their progress to pay attention to the new arrivals. Unlike the other female in the room, Emiko refrained from yelling out the attacks. She simply spoke them, her voice never changing from the normal monotone that is associated with her. "We will perform the attack again." Tsunamon nodded and got ready for the command, "Heavy Vortex." Tsunamon tensed slightly before raising his two whip-like tails over his head, and right above his horn. Then the three golden rings - one on each of his tails and horn - began glowing, and slowly a small golden orb manifested right in the center before growing in size. It stop growing until it was roughly the size of a softball, then began swirling in a counterclockwise motion.

Suddenly a beam shot from the source, stretching the entire circumfrence of the energy mass and still swirling in the counterclockwise motion. The energy beam hit the wall causing an explosion, a cloud of dust and some debri from the wall. When the dust cleared the damage done seemed to stretch a bit wider than the beam had seemed, which told Emiko that the attack expanded as it left the source. She didn't expect it to do too much damage to the wall considering what they were built to withstand, but was satisfied with the damage that was done.

There was a sudden noise and Rika (Coronamon was still sleeping inside the leash) entered the room, a full ten minutes late, though her yawn gave the reason as to why- Rika was notorious for oversleeping. The girl seemed happier than she had last night- by any rate, she was smiling, and it was not the smile Rika dons when she has just filled a officer's underwear with butter.

"Morning, everyone!" She said loudly. "I see we are training our Digimon to fight real targets, yes? How fascinating." Rika observed, her voice subtly changing to reflect Yukio's emotionless tone. "Well, I guess I better summon my DABO- Cor, come hither!" She said, still mimicking her commanding officer, and with that, she pressed a button on her mesh-like leash.

Coronamon appeared, looking very irritable from waking up from what seemed to be a nice sleep. "What?" Coronamon asked moodily.

"We gotta try out some of your attacks. Corona Flame on three- one, two, three!"

Coronamon thrust his chest out impressively and focused for a second, squeezing his eyes tightly close. Suddenly, the flame in the middle of his forehead started to waver, and without warning a blast of fire leapt out from it, soaring across the room to hit the far wall with a roar. It took a while for the fireball to disappear, and when it did, it left behind a nicely-sized scorch mark, only several inches above the gash made by Tsunamon.

The others were really getting into it. Well, it wasn't often they got to let loose without any repercussions. He wasn't sure if the others saw it that way, but he enjoyed giving his all and breaking some things every now and a again. He lead Leor over a large rock. More of a large boulder really. It was taller than he was and half again length wise. He grinned at Leor and gestured to the rock. Leor looked at it and grinned too. Kazu pulled out his leash and flipped it sideways. The main screen popped up with a visual courtesy of Leor's eyes.

"Start with Leo Claw!" Kazu instructed. Leor nodded and leaped forward. The Screen marked his target area the instant before he stuck he rock, carving three deep furrows in the rock's surface. Kazu nodded with satisfaction. Not as destrcutive as the others, but dangerous. Speaking of which. He pointed his leash at the boulder and tapped a control. Leor's view shrunk o be replaced to be replaced with a structural view of the boulder, the colours washed out and pale. A single spot shone on boulder and Kazu sent it to Leor.

"Leor. Target area marked. Critical Bite!" Leor when in low and fast and crushed the point between his jaws. The entire boulder shattered and Kazu hastily covered his face from the pelting rocks. He looked at the rubble with pleasure as Leor grumbled and spat out pebbles. Critical Bite was Leor's strongest move. With one bite, he exerted enough pressure to crush steel. They said it could take down an adult if he did it right. The hard part was to get Leor to hit the target spot on a moving object. Leor could tell the general location of the weak spot instinctively and the leash could pinpoint it, but to actually hit it... that would take more work. Kazu grinned anyway and looked for another rock to break.

It was only seeing the fire attributed attack hit the spot only inches from where Tsunamon hit did Emiko turn her head and saw that the entire Inverst Unit - Project? - was now present. And the one who made the attack was Rika and her EGL partner Coronamon. Emiko nodded her head at the two in a greeting. "Tsunamon let's do it one more time, then we'll go to your second attack. If we have time we'll try consecutive attacks and combinations." The wolf like EGL sighed. One thing he hated was training, but it was apparent Emiko wasn't about to be lenient today - the reason was probably due to the fact that Yukio was watching. Either that or the fact that tomorrow was the day of the make it, or break it assignment. "Heavy Vortex."

Yukio watched for a few more minutes, until he was satisfied that everyone seemed to have at least a basic knack for causing a fair bit of destruction in the general area. He spoke loudly, though still without passion -though you could hear him, it still didn't convey any real sense of attachment to the proceedings.

"Very well. We shall stop shadow training for the moment, and move on to a different sort of preparation. This is intended to ready you for the Adult Emergence later today- please take to it, as you would in a real combat situation,"

he stepped away, and as he did, a bit of the ground beneath him opened up. Moments later, a rather large Gizumon was brought up through a lift. Though it appeared to be a relatively standard model, its body armor was painted black and the eye-orifice from which laser weaponry was fired was tinted a dark red- large shields, made of the same material as its body, were affixed to either side. It hummed with a sound that seemed unlike pretty much any other Gizumon.

"This is experimental Gizumon LT-A03. We are working on a method to engineer Gizumon with data compression similar to an Adult; this one was a failure in this regard. For our training purposes, it will work well enough. LT-A03 is not equipped with weaponry as other Gizumon is, but its ray will activate the Restraint Command in EGLs, paralyzing them on the spot."

He turned and walked towards the door, which opened as he approached. "Your goal is to destroy LT-A03 before it incapacitates all EGLs. Have fun," he said in a tone that indicated the trial was likely to be anything but, exiting the door and letting it shut with a definite click.

Leiko had the oddest feeling that door was locked, but shook her head, focusing on the Gizumon in front of her. It didn't look so tough, as long as they didn't hit the shields on either side.

"Kunamon! Vigorous Garrott - aim sharp!" she ordered, hoping it would occur to the insect herself not to get hit by the shield arms. Kunamon responded without speaking, launching herself in the air high above the Gizumon and slamming downward, with her tail somehow splitting into two large, glowing prongs to empale the enemy from behind.

Leiko couldn't follow it as the robot somehow moved to hit the insect with a shield, deflecting a blow, and followed it up by shooting a large orange beam directly at the worm only feet away, who curled up into a defensive posture though she was blown back by the force of the beam.

"Kunamon, status!" she asked quickly, hoping her EGL hadn't been brought out of commission so soon. Kunamon uncoiled, though slowly. "Pain..." she muttered.

Leiko paused, but nodded, wondering briefly why the beam hurt. Wasn't it just supposed to stun them? And in fact, why could Kunamon still move if it stunned, wouldn't a hit like that...?

The unsaid question died on her lips when she realized it really wouldn't matter, on a whole at least.

Heading inside the DARTS headquarters, Arachnimon pushed both doors open with a decent portion of his might. Gala held the right one open so he could actually enter the facility itself, but the left closed shut just as quickly as Arachnimon opened. Arachnimon proceeded to get out of his man-made disguise, whilst Gala moved on up to the counter.

"Hey, just came by to drop this off," Gala told the lady behind the counter, placing the broken pieces of his old leash on top of it, "Actually, while I'm here, you don't happen to know where the Training Area is do you?"

"Certainly," the lady responded, before giving directions to the Training Area from where they were, "Have a nice time out here,"

"Thank you," Gala responded, before walking down the hallway that the lady directed him down and then turning to the following Arachnimon, "You know, they're lucky we were in the ETA Complex to begin with, and not all the way out at Tokyo. Otherwise you'd likely have another few days of freedom, knowing the traffic there!"

"Touché..." Arachnimon was clearly not happy about getting the leash in the first place, let alone having to wait in the building for it, "Well, we don't have any better ideas other than go over to that Training Area and take a gander at what's happening, or see if it's even open."

Gala and Arachnimon continued to walk down the long and loathsome hallway, continuing to talk amongst themselves and sometimes even looking at the signs on the various doorways. What they were really looking for is a sign that said "VR suite" or something along the lines, hoping that DARTS would even have such a thing. Eventually, one of the doors caught Gala's eye, enough of one that would cause him to tug on the door knob, but fail to open it.

"Huh, it's locked," Gala stated in a Captain Obvious kind of tone.

"Can't we just pry it open, then?" asked Arachnimon.

"Come on Arachnimon, you know we can't just barge into any old closed door!" Gala answered in a tone that implied Arachnimon should've known all along, "Let's just wait for someone to open it again or something like that."

Kai had watched silently as Renamon trained with technique. He refused to say a word about her moves, instead allowing her to use her judgment to decide what would be best to use, and when. Only on small occasions would Kai offer opinions on what Rena should do. And then, when he did offer moves for her to use, he would mutter it quietly, so that she was the only one who could hear it. He watched as she moved quickly, dodged invisible enemies, and attacked the targets. Her speed was impressive, as was her accuracy, though it was nowhere near what he wished her skill to be. She was good, but she needed to be great to have to have any chance against a truly difficult foe. So, he trained her harder than he would have thought of as acceptable, pushing her to her limits. When Yukio called them to stop, he could see that Rena was quite close to her limit. She was panting, it seemed, and leaning against walls. He hoped she still had strength to fight. When the large Gizumon appeared, Kai was awed. It was quite a large thing. Kai listened intently as Yukio relayed its abilities. Then, he turned to Rena. "Just don't let it hit you." Rena nodded, then lowered herself into a ready stance.

"Leor, go!" Kazu commanded. With a nod, the lion cub stalked the robot, slipping from rock to rock before he positioned himself behind it. When it fired on Kunamon, he struck. jumping unto the rock and using it as a launchpad, he pounced onto the gizumon's back, lodging himself between the two shields which his hind-legs and securing his hold with his fore. He growled from his position, little arcs of electricity sparking in his mane angrily. Leor shifted his body into a more comfortable position and cried out to Kazu for more instructions."Okay, what do I do now?"

"Um, Leo Claw!" Kazu called out as he studied the scan of the gizumon on his leash. He couldn't find a weak point for Leor to bite yet, so it was his best bet. Leor lashed out, racking his claws against the gizumon's metal body. They slide across it like, well claws on metal, throwing up little gashes and creating a high pitched sound similar to nails on a blackboard or shrieking steel. "Not working!" Leor complain unnecessarily from his perch.

On the other side of the door, a scarping sound caught Arachnimon's ears. It sounded like two Digimon, at least one of the two being a metallic one, were doing battle inside that room.

"Great," Arachnimon said in a tone of disappointment, "They just had to lock us out so then they could hog all the good Gizumon to themselves!"

"But they might need our help!" Gala pleaded, "They could've just as easily locked themselves in with a Gizumon that would be too powerful for them!" Arachnimon turned to Gala with an 'are you thinking what I'm thinking' look.

"You do realize you just gave me an excuse to rip this door open?" he asked.

"Maybe, but this is your chance to practice coming in and saving the day!" Gala assured him.

Arachnimon made a grab for the door knob and pulled hard. The amount of physical strength he had was immense, about tenfold that of any human, but not even he could pry the door open. However, while observing the door closely, he noticed that he could probably melt the lock with his Sulfuric Acid Gun attack. Using this attack, he then burst his way into the room, followed closely by Gala, as he went on the prowl for the attacking Gizumon.

"You can all thank me later," Arachnimon boasted, "But first I gotta actually save your sorry asses! Now, where's this Gizumon?" He then searched, seemingly frantically, for the giant metallic being.

Arachnimon and Gala, however, did not see a large Gizumon, or rather even any other members of the Inverse Project. The room they broke into was expansive, dark and seemed to have a little bit of a draft -which, upon closer inspection, was due to the rather large hole in the wall of the far side of the training room-; but, most notably, it was empty.

Though chunks of glossy gravel on the ground implied it had once been a rather expensive and professional-looking facility, the entire area seemed to have been run through a meat grinder. What wasn't broken into small pieces, had been covered in various deep grooves -gashes up to two inches deep and wide, implying claws far larger and longer than any other. The entire area, though being little more than a gravel-covered expanse of empty land, had an overall melancholy feel about it- like it had felt sadness and despair, and those two emotions had bled into every fragment and piece that made it up.

The hole at the end was dark, but the draft from it was considerably chilled, implying it led to some sort of underground cavern outside of the facility. DARTS was littered with small escapes to outside Aogashima, and often portions of the complexes had to be rebuilt several times when water damage burst open thin walls. This hole, however, had a strange sort of texture about it- as if, if you stared at it long enough, you could see it shifting subtly.

The number on the door read 1-108.

Gizumon LT-A03 didn't appear to notice the lion attacking it at first, and hovered silently in place, before it moved almost too quickly to be seen. Though the velocity entailed in it moving at such rapid speeds and stopping just as suddenly must have been impossibly great, it somehow failed in knocking the feline from holding onto its sides, which the robot appeared to notice after another moment.

It lifted up the shields on either of its sides, extending then out to face either end of the room, as it hummed with power. A glowing white aura began to emit from it, also bathing Leor in searing energy as it charged up. The eyepiece clicked once, then released three quick orange beams in rapid succession.

"Kunamon!" Leiko yelled quickly, "Interrupt that charge!" she called, as the insect leaped at it again. The Gizumon reacted as it had before- turning its body to defend itself with a shield- but was anticipated by Kunamon, who stood atop the shield, running up it and jabbing a stinger at its eyepiece. The Gizumon shuddered back a little bit, losing a little air, and Kunamon dropped from it elegantly.

"Yes!" Leiko yelled with a triumphant grin, though it failed a little when the enemy DABO got up to its usual position in the next couple seconds.

The screen showing Leor's view went red with pain and the entire device buzzed and rumbled, like a video game controller. Kazu had no idea that it could do that. You learn something everyday. As the energy built, Leor sprung from the gizumon's back. Whether it was intentional or a result of the forces acting on him, Kazu had not clue. "Thanks fro the back up Leiko!" he called as he sprinted over to his partner. The cat smelt like burned fur, and just a bit like overheated electronics. Probably the leash's implants reaction to the power surge. Leor lay on his back, his stomach just a bit singed. Kazu checked both the leash's feedout as well as Leor. "You okay, Leor?"

"Ugh... stop the riide... I wannnaa geet off..." he mumbled. The screen showed his vision as blurry and indistinct. He shook his head and rolled over slowly and winced. "Kazu... put climbing on a gizzzumon down as a baaaad idea," he said, still a bit wuzzy.

"Sure, sure," Kazu muttered, running a check on Leor through the leash. He seemed okay, if on the slightly sick side. "You up for another go?" Leor nodded weakly, them more strongly. "Good! Time to try out that move! Go!" As if that was all the treatment he needed to take on the world, the lion charged again, though her skid to a halt a good fifteen feet from the gizumon. "Leor; Thunder of Prince! And move!" The electricity that had been accumulating in Leor's mane shock out in several arcs to lash at the gizumon. He pranced away from the spot and tookk position behind a rock to see it this move had effect.

Emiko watched the procceding fight wondering when it would be the best time to come in. Tsunamon was eagerly waiting for Emiko's command, standing in a tense position and becoming increasing restless. He wanted to join the others before they took out the Gizumon all by themselves, but Emiko wasn't worring about that. She was watching the Gizumon's movements. It seemed sluggish in some aspects, like touch comprihension - seeing as it took some time before it even noticed Leormon was on it's back - and quick in others - like the speed he showed when tryign to remove Kazu's digimon. It was apparent that the Gizumon wasn't really good dealing with more that one attackers.

She scanned her eyes over the Gizumon again and spotted the area where Leormon slashed at it earlier. It wasn't deep, but besides from where Kunamon hit the Gizumon's eye there was no other point of damage. She decided that her focus for now would be there until the Gizumon - if it did - caught on to her plan, not only that but it wasn't in the direct line of sight. "Aim for the stratches on it's back." Tsunamon nodded happily, glad he was finally entering the fight, "You got it!!"

"Get behind it." Tsunamon crouched a bit before launching into a sprint making sure to get behind the Gizumon, and with Leormon's attack it would prove to be a satisfactory diversion. Emiko raised her right hand - where her red leash resided - holding it up to the opposite shoulder with her hand closed. "Horn Drill." Tsunamon was finally in place when Emiko spoke. He jumped high in the air and began spinning rapidly, before shooting towards the three miniscule scratches hoping to hit them.

Kai watched as Leormon was thrown off the large Gizumon, and a Kunamon met a similar outcome. That thing was tough, that was for sure. For a moment, Kai wondered how they would defeat something this tough. He shook his head. If they couldn't defeat a simple training Gizumon, then they would be nowhere near ready to fight a real tough DABO. Kai tossed a quick look at Yukio, who, as far as Kai could tell, had been watching the affair with a quiet air. Alright. It's time to focus, he told himself. He emptied his mind of unnecessary thoughts, and gripped his Leash with a vice-like grip. He looked at Rena; she was still breathing heavily, but he could tell (he had no idea how) that she had calmed somewhat. He gave her a slight nod, which she returned briefly. Then, she leapt forward, and began battering the Gizumon with punches and kicks. The attacks seemed punishing and relentless, but Kai knew, from experience with her, that she was testing the thing, trying to find a weak point. After a minute, she pushed off one of the Gizumon's shields, and flew backward. Landing lightly, she unleashed a Diamond Storm attack. She extended her arms, and razor-sharp shards rushed for the foe.

Gala was disappointed, but Arachnimon hardly cared about the fact that practically nothing was there in the room... he just wanted to get in with an over-the-top dramatic entrance and spit out an heroic-sounding one-liner.

"Maybe I should've rolled in there instead," Arachnimon critiqued the whole scene he just made, "Even better, swing through the top of the door frame! Should really work on that line as well... maybe dock off a few words?"

He then turned to see that Gala had already walked back down the way they both came. Sprinting to catch up, Arachnimon looked more wildly for some equally random doors to bust through.

"Hey, this one might lead to a janitor's closet or the like. It's funny, I've never been in..." Arachnimon suddenly saw Gala turn a corner, just at the nick of his peripheral vision, "C'mon Gala, you're leaving already?"

"Yeah, these Inverse guys obviously don't wanna be found," answered Gala, "Let's just get the leash and get outta here. I mean, by the time we get back to the lobby, three hours would be up."

Hiro was hiding behind his own Gizumon, naturally it couldn't affix another Gizumon as a target, a rare treat it would seem. He was trying to remember any info on LT-403, he drew a blank on it. 'Darn, I wish I read into the Gizumon projects a bit more' he grumbled.

'It's not as if we anticipated in fighting one. I am not fond of harming my kin though'.

Hiro laughed sarcastically. 'No kidding, I never would've figured. But we gotta, your weaponry is more sophisticated than his, just stun the shields so they can go to work on it' he ordered.

Gizumon did not answer back. He merely primed his eye at the join in the on of the shields. 'Target acquired. Setting calibraters, air current minimal. Air moisture minimal. Power set to 80%' Gizumon rambled.

'FIRE!' Hiro shouted.

Gizumon's eye clicked once. 'Gizu Laser!'

The red beam streked through the air on a direct course with LT-403's shields, in the hopes of scrambling and ultimately deleting his shields.

Rika still had her easygoing smile on her face as she watched the Gizumon and what her teammates were doing to stop it. Suddenly, without warning, she suddenly barked, "Coronamon! Coro-Knuckle, double-time!" Just as the Gizu Laser drew close to the Gizumon, Cor leapt forward, his hand now pulled into fists. With a loud cry, his hands suddenly burst into flames, and using his smaller size to his advantage, Coronamon snuck behind Gizumon and turning in one smooth movement, sent a dozen fiery punches straight towards the small of the Gizumon's back. Rika waited on tetherhooks to see if Cor would manage to hit the mechanical beast, or- and this was a scary thought- if they would be deflected and Coronamon be hit by the flames instead...

Lt-A03, perhaps noticing the combined attack on it, proceeded to take evasive action even as the opposing Gizumon's beam struck its shield, softening the data-enhanced metal significantly even before its velocity was quickly shifted to the side. It raised both shields, though one was becoming noticably warped, and a sphere of energy seemed to form around it, deflecting lances of electricity, diamond-edged hail and -most obviously- an entire barrage of flame-boosted punches.

The shield, however, seemed to rise slightly less vigorous with every piece of shrapnel it blocked, and the direct blows of the fist seemed to be too much for it- the flames eventually cleaved through the shell of force shield, breaking through to the robot with it and slamming it into the back. The Gizumon was dropped forward by the force of the blow, flipping itself forward with a pulse of its jets forward.

Once again, it donned its shields- one now noticeably deformed- as it began to glow with white-hot light again. Its oversized eye swiveled around madly, releasing unaimed beams in every direction as it shuddered with power.

"Ack! Bad Day, bad day, bad day, bad day, bad day!" Kazu yelled as he scrambled to avoid the errant shots from the apparently beserked gizumon. He never did like those things. Using the first opportunity that presented itself, he dove behind a fair sized rock. Instead of peaking his head out, he stuck the leash over the edge and watched its screen, randomly noting that the next time he got money, he was going to rig a periscope of some kind to attack to it. Leor was also hiding behind his rock, peering out as well. "Leor, opinion?" Kazu demanded in a mix of an order and question through the leash. There were benefits to having the implants connected directly to his partner's brain. Made long distance communication much easier.

"I thing the eye might be the best place to aim," Leor's voice said through the leash. His view popped up on the smaller screen as he relayed his thoughts to Kazu. "It can't really block it because it has to see and shot, so it is less armored than the rest of the body. So..."

"And if we take that out, we potentially both blind and disarm it," Kazu said, completing the thought. That is why normal people don't attack with their only eye. Could it even see when it fired the laser? That could be a potential weakness. Not that he was willing to test that theory. He would ask later. Hiro might know. "The problem is that you have no ranged attack with decent aim." Kazu scowled and Leor muttered that it wasn't his fault. "Hit it with another jolt," Kazu commanded. He typed the command into the leash and sent it. More lightning shoot from the small lion to the robot. Kazu, on the other hand, scrapped together a decent pile of rocks and hurled them at the machine. He had pretty good aim too. "Target the lens!" he yelled to the rest of the team. Between them, they must have a powerful yet accurate move. "Hit the lens and we may blind and and disarm it!"

Emiko was surprised when the Gizumon reacted in sucha quick fashion to all of the attacks coming at it. It seemed as though her theory of his movements were inconclusive. The Gizumon was able to effectively block Tsunamon's attack with it's shield, before it began shooting off randome lazer beams. Both Emiko and Tsunamon made it behind the same rock to avoid being hit. "Nothing we do is working!!" Tsunamon exclaimed. Emiko sighed already coming to that conclusion. Not ony did this fight look like it wasn't ending anytime soon, but if they were having this type of trouble here, how would they fair in their actual assignment. Not only that but another one of her headaches were starting to come. She could feel the pressure starting to build up. It was one of the many times why she was even picked for this project considering her major weakness compared to the others. She could be the very person to bring down the whole team if she couldn't function because of her random headaches.

Emiko forced the thoughts aside before addressing Tsunamon, but before she could she heard Kazy yell that they should attack the lens. She looked at the Gizumon and saw what Kazu did. If they took out the lens then it would disarm the Gizumon, and while firing she doubted that it would be able to see them. However, trying to attck the lens while it was active was dangerous in it of itself. One of the EGLs could get hit. She didn't want to risk Tsunamon getting hit and being put out of the fight so early."Use your Heavy Vortex." Tsunamon hopped on top of the rock and charged up his attack before shooting the spinning beam towards the Gizumon's Lens. As soon as the attack was over Emiko snatched Tsunamon back behind the rock so that he wouldn't get hit.

Kai found himself in agreement with Kazu, jumping and dodging this way and that to avoid the beam. Though, he couldn't remember if it actually had any effect on humans. He leapt to the side as the beam sliced across the ground where he had stood a moment ago. Doesn't matter, he told himself. If it sends EGL's back into their Leashes, who knows what it might do to the Tamers? Suddenly worried, Kai glanced towards Rena. She was, thankfully, dodging the beam successfully. He hoped she would be able to continue dodging, and possibly even get in close. But she was so tired already. Kai feared that she might be the first one defeated, and of course that wouldn't be good. Suddenly, Emiko's words hit home. Kai skidded to a stop. If nothing worked...he shook his head. I won't let myself be this team's downfall! Come on, Rena...we can do this. He jumped to avoid another beam. "Don't worry, Emiko. We'll figure something out. Although...I do feel that Yukio would set us up on an impossible mission. That's...not the point. Don't give up!"

Coronamon, back against the wall and right next to Lt-A03, only narrowly dodging a laser beam by rolling to the side. He continued the roll and dodged a second beam before finally jumping back to his feet, now several meters away from the chaotic laser-throwing machine. Standing crouched, his eyes fixed on the Gizumon and it's lasers, prepared to jump out of the way once more, Coronamon waited for the next command to come.

Rika, however, had a little difficulty in ordering such commands; she too had narrowly dodged a laser by hitting the floor. Yukio had only told about the effects the beam would have on EGLs, but Rika wasn't willing to see if it would also harm humans. Finally coming back up, Rika, her eyes alight, heard what Kazu said, and shouted, "Coronamon's Corona Flame should be able to do that! Distract the Gizumon while he gets a good shot!" It seemed, however, that Kazu and Emiko were already ahead of him- Kazu had his Digimon sent a lightning bolt towards the enemy, while Emiko attacked the eye like Rika was planning to do.

Hoping that either she or Emiko would be able to hit the lens, Rika shouted, "Cor! Use Corona Flame- take out it's eye!" Since Cor was standing to the side of the Gizumon, he had a brief chance to hit the side of Lt-A03's eye with a fireball, hopefully damaging it and stopping it from emitting laser beams. In the same movement he had used before to conquer the wall with, Coronamon charged up a Corona Flame, and, waiting until what he thought was the perfect movement, sent the fireball rocketing towards the machine.

Minutes passed as Gala and Arachnimon proceeded to the lobby. Once they got there however, no-one was there behind the counter. Acting on an opportunity, Arachnimon ran straight for the counter and jumped over it.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" asked Gala.

"Actually, I'm sure it isn't," replied Arachnimon, "But it's the only idea we have. It's either that or we never get to meet these Inverse Project guys. Alright, let's see here..."

Arachnimon ruffled through some files that were on the desk, scattering them all over the place. Eventually he found a piece of paper, which appeared to contain a list of names. This seemed to be what he was after.

"Mr. Yukio... hang on, there's a smudge on the name... um... you know who you are!" Arachnimon spoke through the intercom that was on the counter, "Your presence is required at the main lobby area. I repeat, your presence is required at the main lobby area. If you may proceed as quickly as possible, please."

Lt-A03 spun around in its destructive dance, and it was becoming increasingly apparent that whatever purpose the beams may have, they were at least somewhat destructive. Burn marks appearing on the stones of the ground, the floor and the ceiling hardly seemed harmless, and Leiko was becoming more concerned as she saw the charring on Kunamon's carapace. Though the insect had seemed fine at first, her body had quickly frozen and refused to move- finding her orders to be increasingly useless, she eventually just recalled the EGL into her Leash and ducked behind a rock to observe how the others would work.

Though its metallic hide managed to negate the lightning and stones tossed at it, the spiral beam of Heavy Vortex spun and struck Lt-A03 directly in the transmitter, knocked it backward with a flash and discharging explosively. Energy around it exploded, causing it to spark and dent the metal of its shell significantly. It had only risen slightly when a fireball struck it directly in the front, its weak steel body crumbling backwards and reversing concavity. It gave a brief, regretful sort of sound before it exploded vibrantly into color- massive gouts of shimmering light bursting through holes in its main body like liquid, filling the room like stardust, far more data than any of the members of the Inverse Project had seen before in one place.

Yukio twitched with annoyance when he heard the announcement. He headed towards the main desk, eyes hard upon the child and EGL that was sitting -obviously without clearance- where the secretary should have. He didn't voice anything as his boots clicked against the hard ground, stopping only five feet away from the pair.

"And what," he started, "are you intended to do, here?" he asked, somehow managing to sound condescending and careless at once.
