Vigil City, oh, how I love thee with your tall buildings, your beautiful river and your park. And the crimes. Let's not forget the crimes!

--SilverLine--

A doctor looked down at the young boy who laid unconcious. He looked at his companion, who was a short woman with long, blonde hair.

"Subject name?" The doctor asked.

"Cory Winshield." The woman answered, looking at a paper with a picture of the young boy. "Powers are unknown, but he's believed to hold great potential due to the chip placed on his neck."

The doctor grabbed the boy and rolled him over, revealing the chip attached to his neck.

"What's so special with it?" The doctor asked and took a sip from his coffee.

"It's made from the same material that is believed to have given the other subjects their powers.*" The woman answered. "Also we do not know who created it, or placed it on young mister Winshield's neck."

"Oh well, take care of him. I heard Destiny Vanguard's here, and my son really wants that superdork's autograph." The doctor grumply said and walked out of the room, leaving the woman alone with the "subject". Cory started to wake up, but when he looked at the woman he didn't see a woman. He saw a man clad in golden armor. The vanguard.

"Who?" Cory asked, still half-asleep. "Friend?"

"Yes." Vanguard answered. "Get up. I need you to get out of here."

"But how?" Cory said, but Vanguard simply placed his right index and middle finger on Cory's forehead. Cory felt how a shock was sent through him, but nothing more. He jumped out of the bed.

"Get your clothes on." Vanguard said and gave a bunch of clothes to Cory, who quickly got dressed. "Now walk straight out. I have placed an illusion spell on you which will disguise you as a doctor to anyone but me. Don't talk to anyone, just get out!"

Cory nodded and slowly walked out of he room and continued down the hall. Vanguard followed, but walked the other direction. There was still some "subjects" that he had to free.

((NOTE: *The subjects are only believed to have goten their powers from that material. It is also believed that the effect is genetic and can transfer through breeding. Your character does not have to have gotten his/her/its powers from the material, but would be preffered to have done so.

Whoever posts first will be the one that Vanguard visits first. The other's may start by forcefully breaking free themselves.))

Rose was making her way slowly through one of the corridors, jumping between the square shapes on the linoleum floor, avoiding the edges that made the outline to each square. It was a small game she was playing quite often when she went through the corridors to entertain herself. The hospital was quite boring at times, but she always managed to find ways to entertain herself and the doctors and nurses were mostly nice to her so she didn't really feel sad that she was there. It was better than being cooped away in that apartment in New York where she had been staying with her "room mates" Robert and Rio. She did like Robert and Rio, even though Rio was very strict sometimes, but it was a lot more fun being here because otherwise she could almost never really interract with people.

It had been almost a year since they first came to the hospital. Neither of them had known why or how they ended up there, but Robert really wanted out. Maybe the doctors were mean to him? If the doctors had been mean to her she wouldn't have liked being at the hospital very much either. Robert seemed to feel better at the place now though, he almost never tried to run away anymore but he didn't really seem as happy as he'd been in New York either. She would have to ask him tonight if the doctors had been mean to him that was why he didn't like it here.

"Oh no!" she exclaimed to herself as she accidentally stepped on one of the outlines to the squares. Some of the doctors looked at her to see what was wrong but then realized that she had just lost at her own game and carried on as usual. "Now I have to start over again..." Rose muttered as she started to walk in the direction she came from. She had to get from the cafeteria to her room without stepping on one of the edges!

Kurai sighed as he shook the hand cuffs again. He felt drowsy still, probably whatever that doctor had had in his hand had strong anaesthetics in it, but Kurai seemed to be able to fight it. The Handcuffs were a problem, he couldn't phase through lead after all, and seemed to be incredibly strong. He groaned as he felt another layer of drowsiness washed over him. He somehow managed to tackle it, and looked over at the young girl at the other side of the room to him. He couldn't be sure if she was awake or asleep, but he couldn't move his mouth to find out. His mouth seemed to have numbed itself, and his lips were too dry to talk anyway. It'd been a month. A month trapped in this hospital, trapped with Lead all the time, even when he could move he had a piece of lead strapped to his wrist which negated his phasing. He hadn't had a drink of water for 4 days. Not a good meal for a week. He wondered when they would let him out of this room, off of this table, when a young doctor came into the room. He removed the hand cuffs, but not before placing the strap of lead on his wrist. "You can go to the Cafeteria now. Food is available." The doctor said, blandly, as Kurai stood up. He would have run, had his legs been strong enough. He could walk without assistance though, so atleast that was something, and he could use his shadow powers, if very weak ones. He had been practising his Shadow Paralysis power out, but still didn't have enough strength. However, he thought that after he ate, he'd be able to use it. Meaning he could probably escape tonight.
He walked slowly to the cafeteria, past a young girl playing something similar to Hopscotch, using the squares on the floor. He smiled slightly as he walked past her, warning her that she was about to step on an edge, and walked towards the Cafeteria. As soon as he entered the room, he could smell the food. It may not have smelt delicious, but to a starving man anything's good. He walked over, ordered everything(not that there was much) and sat down on a stainless steel bench to eat. Just to annoy the people who had to clean up, he purposely spilt a drop of food off of every third spoonful. He doubted it would make much difference, but did it anyway. He gulfed down spoonfuls of things that looked to disgusting to say, but ignored the looks. As I said, to a starving man, anything tastes good. After he'd finished he already felt stronger, and decided he'd plot now. Practicing his shadow manipulation under the table. He could feel his power grow, and could tell that he was nearly ready. All he needed was a guard.

She had come so much further this time, it wouldn't take much more to get back to the room now! She gasped as a nice man walked by with a doctor in tow, he had warned her that she was close to one of the edges and she quickly picked that foot up from the floor and placed it carefully down again, making sure she wasn't close to any of the edges this time.

She looked up to thank the man but he had turned the corner already. She frowned a little at this but then got back to her game. "Okay Rose, don't step on the edges of lava now" she thought as she continued her jumpy journey towards her room.

Aaron's eyes flew open, wild with panic. At first, he couldn't remember where he was. Then it all set in; a tear fell from his eyes. Though his life before this "hospital" hadn't been the best, it was better than what he was subjected to now. Thinking back to the things they had done, and what they planned to do, his anger flared, and sparks of electricity flew from his body, striking the metal in the room and burning it to a crisp. Struck with a sudden inspiration, Aaron tried to shock through his binds. No luck. Looking down, as little as he could, he saw that he was bound in what appeared to be pure rubber. So...whoever these people were, they were smart. After a minute, he smiled. They weren't smart enough. He remembered how he felt when his wings had first sprung free, and a second later, they exploded out of his back, tearing through the bonds. Aaron sprung up, and quickly called the wings back in. The quick transitions had tired him, but he ignored the fatigue. Focusing on the door, he saw that it had an electronic lock. Fools, he thought as he sent a bolt of lightning shooting at the door. The lock fried, and the door slowly opened inward. Aaron shoved it, helping it open the rest of the way, and rushed out into the hall.

Danielle heard the commotion in the hallway, but she didn't bother to get up to check. There was no point to finding out what was going on, because she didn't have anything to life for anymore. She had a life once, before it was taken away from her, along with any hopes of her being able to feel anything ever again. She couldn't hug her dog without it dying from being exposed to the toxic slime coating her skin. She would no longer be able to inhale fresh air without exhaling poisonous fumes, instead forced to suffer from breathing the stale, filtered air produced by her mask. And worst of all, her hands, the only "safe" part of her body, were now living syringes, "injecting" all sorts of deadly cocktails into those she touched. She had learned to control it enough so she only gave the people she touched a mild rash that went away after a few hours, but she wished she could be herself again. If only she wasn't so deadly, and if only her mother hadn't left her for dead in this godforsaken hospital.
Out of curiosity, she finally decided to look out of her window, only to see a man with wings running down the hallway. She pounded on the glass of her door, which had a sign on it that said "CAUTION: BIOHAZARD".

Aaron had been running, practically panicked, when suddenly something caused him to stop. He turned to his left, and saw a door with a large sign on it. The sign read: "CAUTION: BIOHAZARD". Curious, Aaron stepped up to the door. By peering inside the window, he could see...something, staring out at him. He thought it resembled a girl, but there was something, off, about her. She was wearing a strange mask, had pink hair, and her skin was pale. What could have done this to her? he thought. Struck by a sudden anger, he flared out with his lightning, and hit the lock on it. In his anger, he almost fried the whole door. Either way, the lock was destroyed, and the door slowly swung open. Aaron smiled at the girl, and held out a hand. "Hey there," he said, sounding friendly. "You don't look too happy. Wanna get outta here? I'm escaping; join me."

Danielle was rather shocked at the winged man actually freeing her, but she moved her hands away from his hand. "Umm...I guess so..." She replied, her voice slightly muffled by the gas mask. "Just...don't touch me...ever...I have a condition...a really nasty one that will kill you...That's why I have this mask." She walked out, revealing that she was wearing a hospital gown, and her body had several nasty cuts and bruises. "It's a long story..." She trailed off and shyly looked to the ground, absentmindedly tucking a strand of her unnatural pink hair behind an ear as she did so.

Aaron didn't understand, but didn't want to trouble her with details at the moment. When she walked out, he hissed in sympathy upon seeing all the scars, but again, decided to wait for a better time before learning her story. Instead, he simply nodded, and motioned down the hall. "My name's Aaron. I've heard some things, and apparently the people where I came from have decided to call me 'The Thunderbird'; I...don't really care for it. I'm sure you've seen what my 'powers' are by now." To emphasize the word, he held out his hand, and let a current of electricity run through it. His hand glowed faintly, and he hissed as the electricity sent waves of pain through his nerves. Deciding that was enough, he cut off the current. His hand stopped glowing, and fell to his sides. "And those," he said, pointing at his back. "It's harder than it looks, flying," he added with a laugh.

Danielle looked at her hands, then saw that a doctor was running down the hallway. She whipped her arm with a hard enough force so some of the slime on her skin was shot at the doctor, who collapsed once the toxic slime hit his face. She turned back to Aaron. "My name is Danielle. My power is why you can't touch me: I'm incredibly poisonous." She pointed to her skin, which, upon close inspection, was thinly coated in a transparent slime. "This slime prevents anyone from touching me without keeling over, dead. I have to use this gas mask because I exhale poisonous fumes. And my hands can transmit any combination of chemicals I want into any living thing they touch my having it seep into their skin."

They sat in the dark on the edge of the bed, knees drawn up to their chest, arms wrapped around them protectively. The plain set of clothes the doctors provided accented only by the tag that hung from their ear. They could not get rid of it. Loren tried, but it was looped too far from the edge of the lobe. The didn't have the tools to cut it out either. Even if they did, they wouldn't. Loren was not sure if he could repair that kind of damage with what food they provided. And they did not like pain either.
The door to the room opened to admit their doctor. He wore what looked like a hearing aid on one ear. They knew what it was. It was a simple device that prevented Lorelei's abilities from working. And the doctor knew enough to resist their temptations. They had tried hard too. "Come on," he said. "It is time for your meal." They allowed themselves to be lead to the cafeteria. They had all but given up hope now. It had been too long. Too many failed attempts. Too days here. Too many.

~~~~~
The pounding was back. The last dose had worn off. Not that gave him enough either way. And his headache was their fault. Around his neck was a collar fitted with a radio transmitter. Being that close to the thing caused his constant pain while preventing him for using his powers right. As if the buzzing was distracting enough. The door opened and the nurse came in, pushing a tray with food before her. She maneuvered to the space beside his bed and nodded. He glanced it over. Mashed potato, some sort of stew and something yellow. A plastic spoon and a a napkin lay to the side. In a small packet, his dose of medicine. "No knife or fork?" he asked.
"You know you are no longer allowed knifes #13," she replied curtly.
"Jyras." He countered as she checked the clipboard at the foot of his bed.
"Subject #13," she recited from memory. It was becoming a habit between them. "Confined to room since the Cafeteria Incident nine days ago. No longer to be provided with sharp implements and deemed risky." She jotted some notes headed out, turning up the signal from the transmitter as she did. Jy winced as the headache intensified. He quickly popped the pills.
"Enough of this," he said with a scowl. They didn't cuff his hands, but a chain linked his ankles. Since his confinement, he had been slowly cutting on of the links between his meals. Today, his efforts payed off and the chain fell away, cleanly cut apart at the link that connected to his left leg. He wrapped the length of chain around his ankle and stuffed it into his shoe. Now, for that transmitter...
Five minutes later, he poked his head out the door, the remains of the transmitter kicked into the corner. There was enough radio signals in the building to set the radio collar buzzing. He needed out before he could jump.
Aaron nodded. So that was why she could "kill" him if he touched her. But why should someone so pretty have to live so vilely? He dared not say it out loud, both for fear of insulting her, embarrassing her, hurting her, or any combination of those three. Shaking his head to clear it, he shot another smile at her. "Deadly or not, it looks like you and me are stuck together for the moment. Shall we try and get out of here, my new companion?" He held his arm out courteously, as if he were offering the seat of a car to her. "We'll get out of here, Danielle. And no matter what happens to me, I'll make sure you get out of here too...even if I have to stay here."
Shadow was etched on Destiny's shadow. He knew nothing, except that Destiny was grabbing as much people as possible with powers. Shadow didn't know at this point is Destiny knew he was here or not, but had an inkling he did. He was still experimenting with his newfound power, but couldn't remember anything of his life before. Just a voice. But even that was fuzzy. Destiny had just added a boy and would be going to the other wards to find more and more people. He could destroy the whole city if he felt like, Shadow thought. But what else was there to do, but go along with it. And with luck, perhaps Destiny would visit Shadow's ward. That would be amusing. And Shadow wasn't amused often.
Kurai smiled as a guard walked ppast the door, sporting a rather large Gun. "Perfect." Kurai muttered, making a burly looking prisoner behind him jump. "What're you talkin' 'bout?" The Burly guy asked, grabbing Kurai by the back of the neck and lifting him up to full height. This made the guard turn around and walk into the cafeteria, even better for Kurai. Kurai smiled, polite but hiding darkness. "Well, it's a bit obvious it wasn't about you. You've got a face only a mother could love, oh wait, I think even she didn't like yours, right?" Kurai asked, obviously hitting a sore button there. The man readied a punch, and threw it straight at Kurai's face. However, it seemed to stop about a centimetre away. Kurai didn't flinch, but instead kicked away from the burly man, kicking him first in the guts, then in the penis, and finally over the back of the head. Now succeeding in creating a riot, causing the Guard to fumble about with his gun, Kurai ran for the door, stopping about a yard away from it and turning to the Guard. The guard, now ready with his gun, steadied it to aim at Kurai, but didn't fire. Kurai smiled as the man's face contorted with fear and Kurai let him look down, which made the guard notice that their shadows were now touching, and Kurai's was now strangely contorted. "I am fear." Kurai hissed, grinning wildly, moving his hand in a twisting motion, which made the guard turn to face the crowd. Kurai pulled his finger in, as if pulling a trigger, and sure enough, the gun let loose. By the time it was finished, only those that had been sitting down - or were 5 foot or less - were surviving, and Kurai fled. He ran through the corridors aas fast as he could, ignoring the screams from people in cells on either side. One that managed to escape made the sad mistake of getting in Kurai's way, and when the guards finally found the body it was unrecognisable as a human.
All the while, Kurai could feel something strange, something familiar but unfamiliar, like someone spying on him, but in the open. He had a sudden urge to look down at his shadow, and looked straight up again, confused. Ahead of him he noticed some other escape prisoners, easily recognisable because of the girls bright pink hair. He only saw them for a second, as they were going on a Corridor Perpendicular to him, but decided he'd follow them, as he didn't know his way around the building and thought they might. After all, he spent most of his time in High security and Experimentation rooms, and had been out on the corridors once, about 20 minutes ago.
They were close to the cafeteria when a burst of gun fire erupted from the hall. Their guard sprinted towards it, but they ran the other way. They ducked into the first room they found and hide there. That burst of gun fire could only mean someone was breaking out. Should they take the opportunity? Would it be worth the risk this time.
So, will we do it Loren? The question came. No reply was given, but the answer was evident. Their body started changing, flesh flowing like water. Legs lengthened, arms stretched, chest budged, hair lengthened. When they were first taken, the doctors only gave them enough food to survive, but not to change. Know, however, they had just enough nutrients to do simple changes. What was a young boy became a short woman in her twenties, long hair hiding her ears and the tag that marked them. Disguised, they stepped out of the room and walked down the corridor towards the elevator as if they belonged.
Supply closets were very convenient places. So many scrubs and uniforms available for the fugitive inmate. Their were even stacks of clothing, probably taken from other patients. He switched his robes for a plain uniform and rifled through the stacks, grabbing a jeans and shirt that should fit and placing them in a bag similar to what nurses carried. He desperately wanted to cut the band on the collar, but he wasn't using his rift anywhere near his neck with the frequencies fluctuating so much. Spasms in his control could be fatal. To conceal his collar somewhat, he hung a stethoscope form his neck. Nodding with satisfaction, he left the closest, nodding at a doctor who was walking by nonchantedly, though his heat rate shoot up, and darted down the hall with a swift walk. He wasn't sure where he was going, but he had an awareness of his surroundings and headed to what felt like a stairwell. It was safer than the elevator in his opinion.
Danielle agreed, but she was still wary about touching him. She thought he was sweet and kind, but he was probably disgusted by her powers. Who in their right minds would think that a dead girl with a gas mask would be beautiful, especially when she is covered in toxic slime? She asked him as they ran down the hallway. "So, once we get out of here, what are we going to do? We don't even know why we are here!" She then heard someone following them, so she threw some deadly toxic slime behind them, wondering if it would hit their pursuer.
Kurai smiled as the Toxic Slime was thrown at him, easily dodging out of the way, but letting the lead shackle hit it. Bad Idea it seemed. Although it allowed him to phase, it started to burn instantly. "Sh*t!" Kurai cried, diving down into the floor, leaving the toxins on the ground above him. He reappeared right behind Danielle, his smile replaced by a image of Hatred. "What the F*ck did you do that for!?" Kurai exclaimed, tempted to throw his hand into her body and rip out her heart. Then he saw reason, realising that she probably wouldn't die if she could survive them Toxins on her skin. Atleast, not from somethng that simple. "I'm a friend. Atleast, for now. I'm like you." To show it, he made his shadow appear next to him as a full human, running along side him. Then it fell and became his shadow again. "I caused the gunshots, if you heard them just now, and I could help you escape. It'd be easier if I could touch you, but I guess we'll have to find some other way." Kori said.
Vanguard suddenly stopped and turned quickly.
"I know you're there." He said, and looked at his own shadow. "Stay there, I have a plan."
He then darted towards the end of the hall, where there was a window. Without hesitating he shot out of it, activatd his wings and slowly fell towards the ground. When he landed on the street a few people saw him, and some cheered while others boo'd. Vanguard didn't care. He ran back into the hospital and carelessly got himself to the chief doctor's office. The chief was there, but Vanguard didn't care. The chief, however, was very shocked. To him, Vanguard looked exactly as him. The chief stood up and was about to say something, but didn't get a chance before he was punched in the face. Vanguard then grabbed the microphone on the chief's desk, pressed the message button and said into the microphone:
"Subjects ((Insert RPer's numbers here))! Get out of this hospital at any cost and meet me outside!" He then darted out of the office. I'll be the number one wanted person in all of Vigil after this. Good thing I'll be gone when they realize what happened.
The other doctors looked confused, but they didn't care about Destiny Vanguard. To them he looked like any other doctor.
In the elevator, they stood in the corner, taking deep breaths, trying to remain calm. They weren't out yet, not by a long shot. The elevator dinged and a group of nurses came in. They quickly stepped out. In an elevator, the chance of someone noticing the tag was too great to risk. Now on an unknown hallway, they were lost.
We should have stayed in the elevator, Lorelei hissed.
And what? Loren snapped, hope they didn't ask who we were? He was in control of the body so the decision to leave was his. He didn't regret it either.
I could have taken them, Lorelei said, but she knew the weakness in her argument.
And lose the shape in the process for the next person who wandered up to spot us. Loren directed them down the hall. A lone doctor was heading up toward them, and they did their best to look innocent. Then the intercom crackled.
"Subjects ...24....! Get out of this hospital at any cost and meet me outside!"
What?
Focus on getting out now. Loren gave her control. Their body flowed into a smaller female form with shiny black curls. Lorelei ran back to elevator and jumped in as the door opened. The doctors inside gaped at her. "Out." She commanded. They obeyed and the doors closed before they could question why they listened.
~~~~~
The stairs ended two floors down. Who makes stairways like that? The stairs felt like it continued on the other side of the building. Sheesh. That would increase his risk of being caught. He slowed at the door and straightened his uniform and slowed his panting. It was bad enough that he looked too young without looking like he just ran a mile. He opened the door and stepped out. No one was around to see him. He did hear some footsteps pounding towards him. It sounded like a group running down the hall. As he stepped away, the intercom came on.
"Subjects ...13....! Get out of this hospital at any cost and meet me outside!"
"Okay... Nice to know that someone is out to help us," Jy commented as he headed towards the pounding (better to not look like he was running from them.) "My problem is actually getting out. Maybe I could find a scalpel somewhere." The radio was receiving weaker signals, probably because the tower was on the roof, but not weak enough to jump. So it was off to the stairs. Keeping an eye out for more supply closets, he turned the corner and spotted three people heading towards him.

When she heard the gun fire Rose threw herself at the floor, covering her head and screaming in fear. She hated guns and now someone was shooting inside the hospital! She had lost at her own game once again, but this time she wasn't bothered, she was too scared of the sounds of the gun. She sobbed a little "I'm scared" she mumbled and as she did she started to change form into a young man with dashing good looks. He wore a white button up shirt that had buttons undid a bit too far to be classy, three buttons to be exact, and a pair of black jeans. He wore nothing on his feet, he was inside so it wasn't really needed.

"Don't worry Rose, I'll protect you" He mumbled and smiled, wiping away the tears that was still on his face. The tears wasn't his, he knew that, but in a way they still were.

He started to sneak around in the corridor, being careful as someone had, indeed, been firing a gun earlier and he didn't very much like to get shot. Sure, he could put up a force field that would protect him, but he'd rather not have to do that.

As he crept along the corridor he heard the chief of staff calling out in the microphone that he, along with some other patients, was to leave the building. "A trap?" He wondered, it would seem very reasonable since he knew that the chief of staff would not want him to run away. If he did they wouldn't have stopped him all those times he tried last year.

"f*** it, I'm leaving. It's not safe in here anyways" he thought to himself and darted through the corridor, making himself go transperent.

Aaron had flinched at the gunshots, and again when the boy had appeared behind them. He was getting ready to hurl a bolt of lightning at him when he said he was a friend. Aaron relaxed, and turned to face forward again. Up ahead, he could see guards run around the corner, spot them, and raise their weapons. I don't think so. He sent a bolt of chain lightning forward, hitting, and incapacitating, all the guards at the same time. He had never done chain lightning before, and it exhausted him. He stumbled, lurching towards Danielle. He caught himself just before he crashed into her, and continued running, though at a slower, and much more stumbling, pace. When the message came overhead, he shook his head. "Well, no duh we're going to get out of here." He turned and faced Danielle as they ran. "And don't worry. I'm sure we'll figure something out to do." Realizing they were taking too long, he suddenly came up with an idea. "Danielle, are your clothes safe to touch?"

A multitude of guards suddenly went down in front of him, seeming to be hit by lightning of some sort. He slowed down a bit and crept slowly towards the crossroads in the corridor where the guards had gone down and peeked around the corner. There was two, no three people standing there, two men and a woman wearing a gas mask. He guessed that the man had been the one to shoot the lightning at those guards as he seemed to be quite exhausted. Robert bit his lip a little where he stood, barely being visible as he was completely transparent, like water. You could see the contours of him but if he stood completely still he wasn't very noticable at all. Were these people friends or foes? They had taken out the guards and the girl was wearing hospital gowns so they were probably patients, just like him. That spoke for them being allies, but you could never be to sure.

He saw them starting to walk down the corridor heading his way and he started to run across the corridor. They would probably spot him but as they were still quite far away it would be hard to tell if it was just the lighting or some trick of the eye. As he came out on the other side he got an idea and grinned a little to himself, it was brilliant! Nobody would suspect a thing, and since both he and rose had been out today and they were doing this in order to protect themselves, he doubted that Rio would decide to come out until they had gotten out of the building. "here goes" he thought and his body quickly changed formes into a pretty golden retriever with shiny golden hair and a red collar that said "RUFFY".

Ruffy wagged its tail, being happy to be able to run around in the corridors as he wished. He knew he had to get out from the building, all the voices in his head told him so. It was wonderous to be out, he didn't get to go out too often but he didn't mind it much. He knew the others had a greater need to be out in the world than he did so he was happy to let them and just took the oportunities to be out whenever they let him.

The dog slowed down a bit and then looked behind itself, "What is that faul stench? It smells, like danger and death!" he thought to himself as he panted a little and then whined slightly.

The lightning blast was heaven and hell all rolled into one. Heaven because the concentrated stream of electricity shorted out the radio in his collar, putting an end to the the dreadful buzzing. The ease to his headache was marvelous and the dreadful buzzing finally stopped. Hell because the same lightning briefly flared his pain. Damn karma. Didn't being locked up in a hospital from hell mean he had good karma outstanding? Either way, the buzzing was gone, his headache diminished to a the more accustomed level. He slipped a finger under the collar and cut it with his rift. Scowling at it, he stored it in Nowhere. As an after thought, he sent the chain to Nowhere too. He pulled a baseball bat from Nowhere and hefted it to shoulder level. He slowly grinned. "Shall we cause as much havoc as we can while we escape?"

The elevator lights flicked slightly and it jolted. They stumbled before Lorelei regained balance. What was that? Loren asked.
No clue. But we are almost to the first floor. The doors opened. It was clear, so they hesitantly stepped out. The met a doctor halfway down the hall, but he kept walking at Lorelei's order. Similar treatment got them through the building and out the front door. No one else was out yet and they didn't see anyone that could be a contact, so they slumped against the wall. It was a close call. Without the turmoil on the upper floors, the doctors and guards never would have been distracted enough for them to get out. They silently whispered thanks to who ever started the who thing.

"Nice one." Kurai stated. "And I was wondering the same thing, if your clothes were touchable, Danielle. You have wings, don't you Aaron? If you do, then grab us, and I'll be able to Phase us out of the building. Oh, I didn't explain, did I?" Kurai said, as he noticed confused faces. "I can phase through objects. AKA, I can walk through stuff, and anything I'm touching, that I want to Phase through can also phase. They may also pass the ability on, so all three of us could escape, if you grab hold of us two, Aaron, I'll do the phasing, and Danielle can make sure no-one survives noticing us." Kurai stated, smiling at the plan. "Of course, that's an Idea at anyrate."

Danielle nodded. "Just be very careful, and don't touch the insides." She then turned to Kurai. "I have a rather risky idea. I could breathe into the ventilation system, making the air toxic, but we would have to act quickly. Also, those that don't know to get out quickly would die along with the doctor we are trying to kill. Also, I have a request. Could we possibly find the laboratory where a few samples they took from me are being kept? I'm afraid they might use whatever made me like this as a weapon or something." What Danielle didn't know is that the scientists, from studying the chemicals in her body, had already created a prototype for a cure for cancer.
