Duke looked in the direction Kori came from. A swarm of venipedes? He wanted one. He wanted one bad. Not just because he saw how powerful it was in battle either. He sighed. He couldn't leave the group to go bug hunting now. Maybe later he could go see Daniel and as for some tips on finding one. Both Kit and Alice collapsed thankfully at his feet, pleased that the bug had finally gone. Fighting it was no easy task and they were beat. He scratched under Alice's chin and rubbed Kit's head. They had worked hard. He withdraw Kit, partially because he had taken more of a beating that Alice and because Melina might freak out again. He draped Alice around his shoulders like a scarf. "I guess we can head back to Professor Ivy now."

He cocked an eyebrow at the fellow whom he had helped out with the poisoning as he fell back down, exclaiming the he was Ivy's assistant. Hadn't he heard him introduce himself like... three or four times already? Maybe the poison had made him forget, but he seemed to be more concerned about his Eevee's well being than that Jesse was the one he was.

When Duke mentioned that they could probably haed back to Ivy's lab he nodded a little. "Yeah, with no angry pokémon holding us back I guess it would be in place that we, or at least I, go back there" he said, correcting himself mid-sentence as he realized that they didn't really need to go back to Ivy's lab, but he sure did.''
Hey Lux could you remove a potion and an antidote from the equipment list to Jesse? He used them and thus I would like the list updated so I can keep track of what items he has :)

Oh and I would also like to know if it would be okay if Ivy gave him a pokémon egg/creamoo (or another pokémon I've been considering for his team) when he decides to leave? A creamoo would make the most sense though, as he's been taking care of one for the last two years and thus she'd know it would be safe :)

Daniel, enraged, started stomping through the forest, Chu rejoining him. He found a pond full of Surskit and angrily battled the Pokemon, having Chu cast out an ElecNet and zapping all of them. One managed to remain standing, so he threw a Pokeball and caught it. He then found a group of Combee, and repeated the process of ElecNetting them all, and catching the one who was still trying to escape. Finally, he used his new Surskit, a very tied-looking thing that needed to be healed, on a Nincada. He healed her with a Potion only when she was about to faint, and caught the Nincada too. Finally, Chu had had enough and shocked him into unconsciousness as he stomped back to Professor Ivy's lab to get his license.

"Well, actually, we still need to get our licenses from the Professor, so we probably should stick with you until we reach the lab," he said to Jesse. Then, he pulled out his Pokeball, and stared at it. I hope you're okay, Volp. That fight must have taken a lot out of you...But you did good, much better than I thought you would. I hope you benefit as much as I will have...And I hope I can find some way to catch another Pokemon, so you're not alone anymore. He sighed, realizing that most, if not all, the other trainers had caught more Pokemon, other than him. He was possibly the last one who still only had his one Pokemon. His eyes roamed over the others, and he felt an unusual pang of jealousy.

"Yeah, we should all head back to the Lab together...especially if Pendra decides to make another surprise appearance." Nathan shivered. "But the Lab isn't far from here. It shouldn't be that much of a problem, as long as we move fast. We'll probably make it back before daybreak." As soon as he said that, Nathan realized how long they had actually been out in the forest- half of the night- and gave a yawn. He and his Pokemon both needed a good sleep- and so did everyone else. "Alright, after dropping Jesse off at the Lab, and getting my license, I'm so crashing at the Pokemon Center." Turning to the side, Nathan saw Ace, and, catching the expression on his face, while aslo remembering than he hadn't caught a Pokemon, Nathan put two and two together. "Though we do have to make sure everyone who was sent out to find Jesse is here," Nathan said suddenly. He flashed a smile towards Ace, hoping the boy would pick up on the hint to sneak away for a second and catch a Pokemon. "So, has anyone seen Daniel?..."
I'm going to change my third post on the first page to keep record of the current Trainers' items, Pokemon, and Money. If I get anything wrong, please tell me. In addition, a sum of 500 dollars have been given to each person involved with defeating the Pendra.
"So, are we going back or not?" asked Melina. "I mean, not only does my Bulbasaur need a lot of rest, I really need more Pokeballs..." Why didn't she buy four more when she had the chance? Her purse was heavy from her left over money; if only she had been a bit more prudent and used it on more Pokeballs. She then added, more specifically at Jesse, "Do you know where we can purchase more Pokeballs from?" She was wondering if the Pokecenter had anything for them; it was, after all, a common place for trainers to go...

"Yeah we better head back, but if you have friends still in the forest I agree that it would be a good idea for you to go look for them" He said, picking up his sachel bag from the ground and putting it over his shoulder. "Why don't we split up so some of us go back to the lab and some of you stay behind to look for your friends?" He suggested, looking around at the other trainers and smiling. "Sadly I think it's a bit too late to fix get your trainer cards now s I believe Ivy wouldnve closed up her lab by now. I have a key however so I could have them printed and you can pick them up first thing in the morning. I guess you wont mind as I believe all of us are in need of some rest after all we've been through" He continued, looking a bit apologetically at them, as he knew they really wanted the trainer cards. He could fix them up in the lab tonight and wait for them of course, but he wouldn't be surprised if Ivy would spend the night at the lab tonight with the Vileplume having been terribly sick earlier and he didn't really want to disturb her in that case. He could probably go in and fix the cards without waking her, but he doubted he could bring in a large group of trainers without managing to wake her.

"I'll be heading back to the lab so those if any of you don't want to spend more time in this forest you could come with me and I'll get you back into town safely" He said as he started to walk slowly back towards the lab. Melina's question had him stop though and he stood in silence thinking for a while. "I think you'll be able to buy some pokéballs at the local pokémon center but otherwise you'll have to go to the store and they are closed now" He answered, he had always baught his pokémon merchandise at the store so he wasn't so sure she could buy pokéballs there. Some pokémon centers offered that service but he didn't know about the one on the island.

Austin walked up to the group. "I'll take Jessie back to the lab." Austin said grabbing Jessie's neck. "Ace. Come with me. Nathan find the others. If we leave now we can make it back by daybreak and then send a search party if you haven't returned by lunchtime." Austin continued. "We better leave quick in case that Pokemon wants to return for Round 2." Austin reached into his backpack and pulled out two Pikachu shaped walkietalkies. He handed one to Nathan. "We'll use these to keep in touch. If another Pokemon attacks or you find someone, contact us." Austin said. He started walking away, dragging Jessie.

"H-Hey what the..!" Jesse exlcaimed, arms flailing about as he was being dragged by the collar of his shirt by that Austin kid. He managed to break loose after a short while and after ragaining his balance and some of his dignity he glared at Austin. "I ca walk by myself thank you very much!" He scowled at Austin, making sure he hadn't ripped his shirt. "And take it easy man, you could've destroyed my shirt!" he added, adjusting his clothing and then making a hair flip before stomping past Austin. "Melina, if you want to get back to the pokémon center I can show you the way" He said, still sounding a bit angry. He wasn't angry with Melina of course but he hadn't fully calmed himself down after being dragged around like a magikarp by that kid.

Melina, however, was lingering, the colour in her face fading. "I don't like the look of those walkie talkies." Guardon was already growling cautiously. "You're called Austin, right? You don't, by any chance, own any Electric Pokemon, do you?" She suspected she knew the answer to her question, even before it was answered. If he really did pull out an Electric Pokemon right now - she was so hot-footing it back to the center on her own. At least Guardon knew the way.

"I'm not bothered, but since you seem to have a.....helper...." Kori started, as Austin started to drag Jesse away. "I think I'll stay here. Though I dont know about looking for Daniel. I didn't really talk to him, and to me he sounded a little.....uptight." Kori finished, stopping himself from saying something much more insulting. However, as he was about to jump back into the woods to search for some more pokémon to battle/train against, a large growl erupted from his stomach. "Argh." He groaned, holding his stomach. "Actually, I'll join you! I'm a little hungry." He said, turning around, thankful it was too dark to see his face glow red with embarrassment. "So, are we going?" Kori asked, watching Jesse wrestle with Austin for freedom.

Just then, a worn-out Joltik skittered over and cast out a very weak ElecNet, giving Nathan and everyone immediately around him a mild, attention-grabbing electric shock. Fortunately, the webbing wasn't sticky, meaning it could easily be taken off. The Joltik tugged on those caught in its web, wanting them to come in the direction of Professor Ivy's lab.
Meanwhile, Daniel stumbled into the lab and walked up to Professor Ivy. "One license...please..." He then collapsed once more, three battered Pokeballs rolling out of his pocket.

"Oh my!" Ivy cried. "It's that boy Bea was talking about! Oh, I better help him...Wait a sec..." Ivy disappeared into her lab for a few seconds, then reemerged with a greenish-looking perfume. She sprayed it several times in Daniel's face, and he woke up promptly, coughing. "Ah, Scent of Skuntank, you never fail me," Ivy said happily. "Sorry I had to use smelling salts on you, but you had fainted. Are you alright, Daniel?"

"Here, Melina, I know where the PokeMart is. We can drop off our Pokemon at the Pokemon Center and then go to it, before getting our license- and I'll hold onto the walkie-talkie if it makes you nervous." Nathan, always the gentleman, grabbed the walkie-talkie from Austin just before he seized hold of Jesse, and he laughed at what happened next. "So," Nathan said, turning back to Melina, "You game?"

Melina, whose suspected that Austin was carrying an Electric Pokemon, immediately nodded, and Guardon hurried past. She followed Nathan to the PokeMart, and immediately grabbed four more Pokeballs. She lingered on a Paralyse Heal, but then took it anyway; it would definately come in handy, just in case that type of Pokemon really did ambush them. She felt some relief as her purse benefited from the considerably lighter weight of only 500 .

Melina then turned to Nathan. "I'm done; let's go back to the center."

"Great, now it's time to sack out!" Nathan yawned, and he hurried after Melina to the Pokemon Center.

THE NEXT MORNING

"...And here are your Trainer Licenses, courtesy or me and my assistant Jesse," Professor Ivy said, and with a big grin she passed out the Trainer Licenses among the group of Trainers, all of which had gone through the woods the previous night. Nathan, who was among them, couldn't help but feel excitement as he received his. It was a bright bluish color, embossed with the Poke Ball symbol. In the top right-hand corner were the words "ORANGE ISLANDS LICENSE" and below that was a freshly taken picture of Nathan and to the right of that, Nathan's personal information, which covered name, date of birth, eye color, blood type, etc. As Nathan inspected his new License, Ivy went on talking,

"Now, I know last night was pretty hectic, what with the debacle with the Pendra- which aren't supposed to come out of hibernation for another six weeks, strangely enough- and the fainting, but you guys managed to overcome these difficulties- no, you passed it with flying colors. A bond with your Pokemon allowed you to ride out the storm of last night, and it is Trainers just like you that I need to help me out. If you would wait here for a second..." Ivy retreated into the recesses of her lab for a second, finally returning with red, PDA-like devices. As she passed them out like she had with the licenses, it became clear that they were Pokedexs.

"This Pokedex is a invaluble tool for all Trainers. It gives information about all Pokémon in the world that are contained in its database, which, as of yet, includes all Pokemon found presently in the Orange Islands. Now, these Pokedexs are not completed; while they contain the basic information for every Pokemon, much of the culture and secondary information has yet to be discovered- and hey, if there are Pokemon not discovered out there yet, they need to be added to this Pokedex too! And so, this is the mission I am giving you; could you try to encounter every Pokemon you could, so we may learn more about this great world around us?"
So yeah, just say "yeah" or "nah" (If you're feeling rebellious), and then, we shall start talking about splitting up and going to the various Gyms.
Daniel went up to Professor Ivy and bowed to her. "Thank you for tending to my semi-self-inflicted wounds and letting me rest on your couch last night. Could you update my own Pokedex and License?" Her handed her his Unovan Pokedex and Trainer Card. "Also, have you found out anything on where Volcarona might be, or at least a starting point? Because I need somewhere to go after I stop at Kumquat Island."
Meanwhile, Chu snuck back over to Volpecula and curled up on top of the Eevee's head, sending gentle waves of bliss through the little Pokemon.

Melina thanked Professor Ivy, and would have continued had she not caught sight of Chu cuddling up to the Eevee. She suddenly screamed, pointed at Chu and tried to say something, yet her mouth was paralysed. Guardon growled and positioned himself between the innocent Pokemon and his owner; the latter, however, took the liberty of fleeing the lab altogether. Her Bulbasaur, which had up until then been resting cheerily against her leg, started, and look at Guardon; the Rhyhorn threw him a sharp glare, and he scarpered after his terrified owner, still confused as to what was happening.

Jesse looked confused as Ivy came up to him with a pokédex as well. "W-wha?" he managed to sputter out, looking questioningly at his friend and employer.

Ivy smiled warmly at him and opened the young man's hand, placing the pokédex there. "I want you to have one as well. After the events of last night I think you proved yourself to be fit for field research" she explained, closing Jesse's hand to grasp the pokédex. As he still looked confused she sighed and continued, "I didn't think Ferdinand would be able to hold its own in a battle since you haven't really battled with him earlier, as he dislikes battles. And yet I hear that he did quite well in aiding these trainers in that battle."

"But, I... What about the lab?" Jesse asked, having troubles to comprehend all of this. "Don't worry about the lab Jesse. I will be doing fine here on my own, I managed before you started to help me didn't I?" She reassured him. "And I really think you ought to travel the islands anyways. You've lived here for 15 years for arceus sake and you've barely visited any of the islands in that time!" she added, placing her hands on her hips and giving him a playful glare. She wasn't mad at him at all, but she did this to enforce how ridiculous it was that he hadn't really left the island in all that time.

Jesse couldn't help but to laugh a little at Ivy's pretend glare and then looked down at the pokédex in his hand. "Well, I guess I you're right" He mumbled and smiled as he opened the pokédex. "And if you're certain that you'll manage without having me here I'll be more than happy to help you out with the field research and gathering data for the pokédex" He said, looking up at her.

Ivy dropped the act and let her hands fall down to her sides again. "Like I said, don't worry about me, I'll be okay" she said, smiling half heartedly. She was a bit sad to see Jesse go, he had helåed her out for the last three years after all. And she doubted that she would be able to keep the lab as organized as he had kept it.

Jesse saw the half hearted smile on Ivy's face and smiled back as he put the pokédex in the pocket of his cardigan and then taking off his lab coat. "It's been an honor to work alongside of you and I'm thankful for this oportunity you have given me" He said, and then hugged her. He was sad to go in a way too, Ivy had been not only his employer but also his friend. He would still work for her now, but not really in the same way.

Austin followed the others back to town and entered the lab. "Professer. Hello." Austin greeted. Pichu poked his head out of Austin backpack. Shiny Eevee did the same. "Pi!" "Eve!" Austin smiled. Vileplume's Pokeball sat on a shelf. In front of the Pokeball was a little strip of paper that said: Austin's Vileplume. Austin walked up to the shelf. "I hope you don't mind Ivy." Austin said. "But I want to said good bye to Vileplume." He let Vileplume out. "Vile!" Vileplume cried as she glomped Austin. Austin grabbed Vileplume. "Hi sweetheart!" Austin said. Pichu and Eevee jumped out of the backpack. "Wanta play?" Austin asked Vileplume. She smiled and jumped down. Ivy handed Austin his Trainer License and a PokeDex. "Thanks!" He took out his PokeDex and check Vileplume. "Let's see here..." "Vileplume, the Flower Pokémon. Using the largest flower petals in the world, it spreads large amounts of pollen that cause allergic reactions." the PokeDex said. "Wow." Austin said. He put the PokeDex and License into his backpack. He turned to Ivy. "Professer. One day I dream to become the greatest Pokemon Doctor/Professer. But I'll need to train to learn about Pokemon. One day..." Austin said. He picked up Vileplume's Pokeball. "Return Vileplume." Vileplume retreated to the Pokeball. Austin put the Pokeball on the shelf as Pichu and Eevee got into his backpack. Austin picked it up and stood by Nathan. "I'll stick with you."

Josh felt happy, but in an unsecure way. Happy because he got his Trainer Lisence, but unsecure because he had a feeling the group would split up... Josh liked the group as it was now, and did'nt know how things would end if the group would split up... He decided to not think about it, and be so optimistic he could. He let out Kickerizer and Psynon to play. "Kicker bro, don't hit somebody. Okay?" Kickerizer seemed to be a good mood that day, so he just boddes and ran to play.

Yeah, I would like to split up the group. I've started to feel a little unsecure over where everybody is and so, and wich Pokémanz everyone has and so...

Duke smiled as he took the pokedex. The little red device was key to his dream. To raise the best pokemon required you to know about the best pokemon. Since Kit was out of sight for Melina's sake, Alice had taken his place as primary travel companion. She had taken perch in the hood of his coat, he head resting on his shoulders, peering out at the others haughtily through the fuzz that lined the edge. He slid the license into his bag without examining it much (no need to in his opinion) and considered were he would head next. "Professor Ivy, what is the closest island to here?"

Ace had been quiet for the whole walk back to the lab. Even though wild Pokemon skittered around the group, he had ignored them, instead simply walking with his hands in his pockets. Once they reached the lab, Ivy handed out the licenses, and Ace still said nothing. He watched quietly the whole time, saying nothing, but wondering if it was even worth the effort to continue. When Ivy asked about encountering Pokemon, however, Ace perked up. That sounded fun, and it would probably help him catch Pokemon too. He greedily accepted the Pokedex. "Of course I'll try to encounter as many Pokemon as I can," he said with a smile.

Austin turned to Nathan. He told Nathan about Vileplume. "She's mine but I can't use her right now." Austin said. There was a TV Phone in the lab. Austin checked it out to see his dad was trying to contact him. Austin picked up. Pichu and Eevee sat on Austin's lap. "Austin!" his dad said. "I found Pichu's Pokeball!" "Hi dad and thanks!" Austin said. His father had never seen Austin so cheerful. Pichu's Pokeball was sent to Austin. "There ya go!" his dad said. "You have a shiny Eevee?" "Yep. And a Vileplume who is staying at Ivy's for the time being." Austin said. His dad smiled. "You have a guest too!" His dad said. He got up and Austin's girlfriend and brother sat down. "Austin!" they said together. The three had a talk and then Austin said bye. Austin returned both of his Pokemon and stood by Nathan again. "Shall we go?"

Alexander was walking on the ground of Pummelo Island. He had exited the boat and was walking into town. Iron-Friend was walking next to him. Alexander had walked into the pokemon center, hoping to find someone who can help him. Iron-Friend was happy and content inside the center as Alexander walked up to the counter. He had an idea. He remembered that by beating trainers, he could get money. So he should find a trainer to beat. He called out, "Who wants to battle?"

"Great." Ivy beamed at Ace before turning to Daniel to finally answer his question. "Where would Volcarona be? Hmm..." Ivy's face screwed up in concentration, while at the same time grabbing Daniel's Pokedex and Trainer Card. She continued to think hard as she updated both, but right after she finishing, she took a long breath and looked angry with herself. "...I would have no idea. Truth is, I had no idea Volcarona was even in the region before Beatrice gave me a call. However," Ivy said thoughtfully, "I do know of an old man who lives on Moro Island, on the other side of the Orange Archipelago- Old Man Harry, they call him. He is said to be the wisest man in all of the islands, and he seemingly keeps track of all the Pokemon on the Orange Archipelago. Some people say he speaks with Arceus." Ivy looked skeptical. "I doubt that, but I will admit that he is unusually correct is predicting which Pokemon are in the region at the time. If anyone knew about where Volcarona might live, it would be Old Man Harry. You could hit up Shamouti Gym and Navel Gym on the way there, too."

Nathan listened patiently as Austin explained about Vileplume, and when he left, Nathan's mind turned to where he would go- a subject in which he had little if no idea. Though Nathan had traveled quite often in his life, it had never been without friends or family; the idea of going out to travel with no one but his Pokemon was frankly terrifying. And so, when Austin returned and asked him where he was going, Nathan had already decided to find out where the other Trainers were going and join them. "I honestly have no idea where I'm going," Nathan said in response. "I've barely ever been in the Orange Islands, and maybe someone whose been here before will know a good route to take...?"
