Professor Ivy gave a conflicted frown. "I can sense the bond between you two, but I cannot allow it at this point. This Vileplume is too old and strong for you to care for at this moment; it would be like giving a toddler a bomb, no offense intended. How about you come back after you beat a few Gyms and take her then; I promise to take good care of her until then." Professor Ivy gave Austin a supplicating look. "Is that okay with you?"

"Good job guys!" Nathan said. The Pendra was looking a bit worn down at this point, but far from defeated. "Alright- Kip, attack with Tackle! Roli - Water Gun! Go!" The two Pokemon attacked in sync, with a jet of water launching from the Poliwag, and Muchlax launched himself at the Pendra. Pendra, however, was faster than he looked- his tail came out of nowhere and caught Kip in the midriff, and Kip was thrown back, landing heavily on it's side. The Water Gun, however, continued on- the Pendra, distracted by Kip, had no seen it coming and it hit Pendra head-on. Both Kip and Pendra were thrown back, but both were back up in a second- neither Pokemon were giving up that easily.

Aiden ran over to the group. "Okay so I will use my Pokémon to help weaken the Pokémon. I only that Pendra is weak against fire so I can use Empress to weaken it a little, but it probably won't do much damage. Then, Chikorita can use Razor Leaf even though it won't be effective. It will at least distract Pendra." Aiden said as he let Empress run onto the battlefield, and then used Chikorita for the first time. "Chikorita use Razor Leaf on Pendra no." The Chikorita stood its ground, and then use most of its remaining strength to launch a Razor Leaf attack. "Good job Chickorita, and now Empress, use ember on Pendra!" The Charmander took off running forward, and noticing how big Pendra is headed towards Chikorita. Chikorita somehow knew what Empress was planning, and angled himself to act like a ramp. Empress ran up on Chikorita, and then jumped into the air at head level with Pendra. Then, the Charmander used an Ember attack aimed right at Pendra face. Aiden was hoping this would cause the Pendra to go blind for a few moments.

Austin left the Lab to find Nathan. As he entered the forest, he saw a small blue Pokemon.. "A Ditto?" Austin said. The Pokemon disappeared and Austin ran into the forest. "Ditto!?" He yelled. "That was another Shiny!" Austin said to his self. He wandered the forest until until he found the group again.

"Pichu use Tackle! Eevee use Helping Hand!" He said. Pichu and Eevee attacked Petra. Austin walked up to Nathan. "What is that thing?" Austin asked as his Pokemon attacked.

"Ferdinand, stop your growling and then just stand your ground. I don't think we can weaken it any more than we already have" Jesse called to his creamoo who obeyed almost directly.

"What do you guys think, should we try to weaken it a bit more and then make a run for it? I think it should be safe for us to attack it now because with the increadibly decreased attack I don't think our pokémon would be in too great of a danger from its attacks" He said, looking at the other trainers around him. He didn't really think they should hurt the pokémon too much, sure, it had charged at them first but they were the ones invading its home.

Josh had backes away a bit. He did'nt like insects at all, and this insect was huge. But as he saw the others fight, he threw out Kickerizer and Psynon out of their balls. "Kicker! Distract that insect!" Kickerizer ran towards the Pendra. The Pendra was already blinded by Empress'es Ember, so Kickerizer hit the insect as hard as he could. The insect where hard, so that did'nt damage it so much. If physical powers don't work, I'd be able to damage it with Psychic powers! Josh thought. "Psynon! Use Confusion!" Psynon used his own mind to try to confuse his opponent,

Duke didn't acknowledge Jesse anymore than a curt nod. Even with nine pokemon, they weren't going to do enough damage to the thing. They were way underpowered. "Kit, howl then follow with a quick attack! Alice, hit it with a faint attack." Kit growled then cried towards the sky. Pendra, hearing the sound, swung towards him, but was struck from the other side by Alice, who used the distraction to sneak past his defenses. As the bug reared up to strike her, Kit hit it in a beam of white light before scampering back to avoid the blunt of Pendra's retaliation, though the glancing blow sent him tumbling. Despite Alice's apparent disdain, she worked well with Kit. "We can make a strategic retreat any minute now," Duke hinted as Kit hissed defiantly.

"Pichu! Follow up with Thunder Shock! Eevee use Iron Tail!" Austin yelled. Pichu used the powerful blast as Eevee ran up to the Pentra and used Iron Tail. "Now both use Helping Hand on the other Pokemon! Don't use it on Pentra!" Pichu and Eevee did just that to make the other members of the group's Pokemon stronger. Austin was worried. "We can't handle this guy! Even if we all attack at once! I'm going to get Professer Ivy!" Austin said. "Pichu and Eevee! Stay here and keep using Helping Hand!" Austin said as he ran away. Pichu and Eevee nodded and continued using the move

Back at in the town, Austin scrambled out of the forest and into Professer Ivy's Lab. Vileplume was there and was excited about Austin's return. "Vileplume!" Vileplume said running up to Austin. Austin hugged the Pokemon and set her down. "Just a sec, sweetie!" He stood up to Ivy. "Professer. The group is out there in the forest with Jessie. But there's a powerful Pendra attack us. Pichu and Eevee are helping but we can't get it weak with our weak Pokemon! We need help! Come with me! And bring Vileplume!" Austin explained. He ran out of the lab. Vileplume winked at Ivy and followed Austin.

"Wha... WAIT!" He called after Austin as he ran off, but it was too late. The boy had already ran away too far to hear him or he simply didn't listen. Whichever it was, it was equally annoying. He pouted a little and grunted in annoyance over this before looking back over to Duke. "Run away with our tails between our legs?" he asked, but it sounded more as a suggestion. "I doubt that the Pendra will be able to catch up with us, not when it's paralyzed, and if it does I think we can ward it off again. If we're really lucky it might not even follow us" He stated, seeing the pendra starting to get up from the ground. It surely had loads of energy left and it would most definately fight back if the stuck around, but Jesse figured that if they ran it might give up, at least if they knock it down to the ground again.

"Fernando" He called his creamoos name and it instantly perked its head up to look at its trainer. "Use a tackle attack on it, then run after me, okay?" He ordered it, and the creamoo moo'd in responce.

Fernando charged at the Pendra but it was caught by surprise as the pokémon suddenly lashed back at it with its horns. The attack hit and Fernando was sent flying. "Fernando!" Jesse gasped, running towards the creamoo who had skid to a stop near a tree. It hadn't fainted but the blow had done a lot of damage. He was bleeding a bit and Jesse was worried that he might've gotten poisoned as well, knowing that the Pendra was part poison type. "Are you okay?" he whispered as he helped Fernando to his feet. Fernando was shaking a bit and seemed to have some troubles getting up.

"After all those growls and charms... and it still did such a huge amount of damage!" Jesse thought, his hands shaking a bit as he examined Fernandos wounds and then checking his eyes to see if he could make out if he was poisoned or not. There was no trace of any poisoning taking place just yet at least, that was a good thing.

"Strategic retreat," Duke insisted. He kicked off his shoes and stuffed them in his pack. "Jesse, Pendra can't climb trees. Mountains and rocks, but not trees. I climb like a aipom. And I move pretty fast too. Kit! Quick attack, Alice, sand attack!" he snapped as Pendra reared up again. Kit slammed into a leg and Alice accurately threw pawfuls of dirt in its face. "I'll cover for you and take off when you are clear," Duke finished as Kit and Alice danced around the bug. Alice was swift, Kit strong and the bug slowed by it's paralysis. Still, it was too much for the weaker pokemon to handle. "But it doesn't look like it will let us leave, does it?"

Daniel silently returned his Kingler and started walking away, ignoring the money. He eventually reached the beach and sat down, watching the waves wash up against the sand. He sighed, and then got up, fists clenched in rage. "Well, Arti, I failed you. I promised I wouldn't use any of my Pokemon save for Chu, because you wanted me to experience a whole new adventure, just like I did when I was a kid. But I broke that promise, all because of some stupid guy and his stupid Grimer that I am in a stupid group with no thanks to this stupid pushy brat that thinks he's the leader!" He cried out, angry and not caring whose ears the ranting lay upon.

Suddenly, there was a brown blur, and Volpecula came streaking from the forest, her head smashing against the Pendra. It hardly budged, and the Eevee bounced off, a stunned look on her face. A moment later, Ace stumbled out of the trees. He had been following the sounds of battle, and after a long time, had finally joined it. Now he saw that some of the others' Pokemon were already worn out, while his Eevee was still fresh. He grinned; he had been itching for a battle since he had arrived on this island, and now he had his chance. "Eevee, use Quick Attack again!" The Eevee nodded, then dashed forward and slammed into the Pendra again. She bounced off, but Ace could tell the attacks weren't doing nothing. He decided it was time to give that thing a little more trouble. "Alright, Volpie! Use Sand-Attack, then Double Team!" Volpecula let out a harsh shout, before spinning around and kicking sand into the large Pokemon's eyes. Then, she began running around the Pokemon, faster and faster, until there appeared to be a whole family of Eevees, all running around the large centipede-like Pokemon. As his Eevee ran around the Pendra, Ace ran over to join the other trainers. "How's the battle going?"

Kusajin watched as the boy ran away angrily, and then looked around for his friend. The boy with the Eevee was nowhere to be found.
"Strange... Whatever happened to him? Is it possible that he... nah.." He thought to himself. He looked at the egg in his hand. Suddenly, as if on cue, the egg jumped out of his hands. It landed upright on the ground, and began to shake. Cracks began to from, and grew wider, until the pink Pokemon emerged from the egg.
"A Lickitung? Amazing!" He watched as it inspected it's surroundings, and began to slurp up the eggshells. It looked around after completely consuming its former home, and saw the excess of sludge surrounding it. It began to slurp up the piles of sludge, not showing any signs of disdain or sickness.
Kusajin saw the Pokemon walk up to a pile with a yellow patch of fur sticking up and eat it. Lickitung stood there for about a second. Suddenly, the Pokemon received a severe shock from inside its mouth. It rolled out its tongue, and on the end was a saliva-covered Bachuru. Specifically, the one owned by the boy who ran off earlier.

"Nevermind! We can handle this!" Austin started to walk out when Vileplume tugged his leg. Austin sat down by Vileplume and put his arm around her. "Listen, sweetie. We still need you to stay here. That virus may be gone for now but we're not so sure. Pokerus can come back. Stay here until I know that you're ok. Ok?" Vileplume nodded and hugged Austin. Austin stood up and left for the forest.

When Austin returned Pichu and Eevee were hiding. "Pichu, Eevee! Let's go!" The two jumped out of a tree. Pendra attacked his Pokemon and knocked him down. "Umm.... Pichu take a cheep shot and kick his head and groin!" Austin yelled. Pichu did just that. "Eevee! Do the same thing!"

"Not well, I would say," Nathan said, glancing at his partners; one had left, the other was trying to climb a tree, and a third's Pokemon had been backhanded by Pendra's horns. But the Pendra was paralyzed and weak; they could finish this!

At least, that was what Nathan told himself.

Time for my final try, Nathan thought. He turned to Munchlax; the Pokemon had taken a Poison Tail to the stomach, but he stood still tall, ready to hit Pendra with whatever he had left. "Kip," Nathan said, looking solemn. He knew he would have only one chance. "Use...Metronome!"

Munchlax's ears perked up and a smirk spread across his face. Suddenly, the Munchlax seemed to do a strange dance, waving his hands in the air back and forth; it was so odd, even Pendra stopped his attack against Volpecula to turn and watch. Anyone with a bit of Pokemon knowledge would instinctively recognize it as the famed Metronome dance; a dance, that once completed, would randomly choose one Pokemon move and use it -which Nathan hoped would be powerful...

The dance finished, and suddenly Kip's fingers suddenly began to glow. There was a moment of silence, and then out of nowhere a large gout of flame erupted, soaring straight for Pendra.

The Metronome had produced a freaking Flamethrower!

"Yes!" Nathan crowed. The Fire-Type move would be super-effective against the Bug/Poison Type Pokemon, and hopefully end this match. The move hit Pendra in a burst of flames, but, unbelievingly, Pendra was still there when the flames dissipated. It was shuddering, and weak, but still there.

Nathan was shocked Pendra had withstood the blaze, but quickly recovered, saying, "Guys, he's weak! Finish him off now!" Nathan couldn't do anything more, what with Kip too weak after the Metronome and Roli Poli had blocked a Pursuit that had been meant for Alice and Kit, and was now recuperating on the sidelines of the battle; Nathan could no longer continue the fight against Pendra, at least until his Pokemon had recovered.
Since I didn't post this before, here are Kip's stats;

NAME: Kip

POKEMON SPECIES: Munchlax

GENDER: Male

PERSONALITY: Calm and sure-headed most of the time, Kip is more quick-witted than he seems. However, if food is involved, Kip will pursue it with a blind ferocity that could make someone think the article of food in question was the last piece of food on the Earth.

ABILITY: Pick Up

MOVESET: 1. Metronome
2. Tackle
3. Defense Curl
4. Lick
Ace shouted and pumped his fist into the air as the Flamethrower engulfed the hostile Pokemon. When it came out, still standing, he was shocked. When Nathan called out to finish it, Ace was eager to please. "Volpecula, let's finish this! Use Quick Attack, and follow it up with a Tackle!" Volpecula stopped spinning around the large Pokemon, and launched itself at a nearby tree. It hit, and bounced off it, before slamming headfirst into the Pendra. It staggered back, but still stood. Volpecula shook her head, still being pummeled by the Pendra's thick skin. Then, she backed up a few feet, and was about to charge at the Pokemon, when suddenly its head whipped forward, gleaming maliciously. It was a Megahorn! Volpecula was unable to dodge, and was hit head on. She flew backward, before slamming into a tree, causing leaves to fall. "Volp! No!" Ignoring the threat of the Pokemon, he ran over to his Eevee; thankfully, she hadn't fainted yet, but she was close. Ace fumbled around before pulling out one of his Potions. He quickly used it on the Eevee, renewing her energy. Just as he finished, she shouted a warning ("Eev!"); Ace spun around to see the Pendra coming for him. It attacked with a Poison Sting, but Ace blocked the attack with his body. He flew backward, before stumbling to the ground. His vision blurred, but he could still see his Eevee glaring angrily at the Pendra. She flew at it in a rage, Tackling it again and again. He could see, barely, that her flurry of attacks was having an affect on the weakened Pokemon.

Psynon had launched Confusions over Pendra all the time, but it seemed like the insect had grown immune. Suddently, it did'nt care much of the other Pokémon, and rushed towards Psynon. Psynon was a Abra, and had very low defense, so Josh did'nt believe it would handle the attack. "Oh s•••..." Josh looked when the Pendra attacked Psynon recklessy, and after less than a minute, the Abra fainted. Josh called it back to it's Poké Ball. "Kickerizer! Tackle it in the face!"

((OOC: I will have the Pendra leave now as that seems to have been the plan anyways and it's really damn weak so if it stays around for more attacks I bet someone will try to catch it or something :P If this wouldn't be okay with you Lux just ignore this post))

As the Volpecula was hit by the tackle of Josh's tyrogue it stumbled a bit and then roared in anger. It looked around itself and seemed to notice for the first time that it was outnumbered. It staggered a couple of times, looking angry and annoyed and then turned on its heel and started into the forest again. It had realized that if it stayed behind for more hits one of the trainers would likely try to catch it and it didn't very much like the idea of having to leave this forest. The forest had been her home for a long time now and she knew it and its inhabitants well. She had just attacked that boy earlier as he was tresspassing on her territory. Why wouldn't humans just leave her and the other forest pokémon to live their lives in peace!?

Jesse drew a sigh of relief as he saw the gigantic centepede take off into the forest again, they would be safe now.

"M-moo.." Fernando mumbled and staggered a bit, his eyes half closed. He was very weak and was probably on the verge of fainting.

"Hang in there buddy" Jesse whispered reassuringly as he took of his beige sachel bag and started to dig through it, fishing up a potion and an antidote after a short while. He didn't know for sure if Fernando was poisoned or not, but he decided he would use a little bit of the medicine just in case. He returned the antidote to his bag and then started to use the potion on the creamoo.

"There, you'll start to feel better in no time buddy" He said, smiling down at Fernando, who smiled back weakly but did seem like it was getting better again. "I'm going to let you inside your pokéball for a while so you can rest properly, it's a long walk back to Ivy's lab and you shouldn't strain yourself right now" He explained to his pokémon, who seemed a bit saddened about not being out with his trainer for a while but knew it would be for the best, so he nodded reluctantly.

"Good boy" Jesse mumbled, and took out Fernando's pokéball from the pocket of his lab coat to then return the small calf like creature into it.

((I hate where I live. :'( I've missed everything. I bet Quaintrelle feels the same. By the way, two things. 1, the correct name was Pendoraa, not Pendra. 2. the english names for Unova Pokémon are now up on Serebii, and Pendoraa is called Scolipede))

Kori, who had fallen over and been attacked by a group of wild Venipede/Fushide, presumably the Pendoraa/Scolipede's young, and had barely managed to fend them off with only Squirtle and Deino. "So what'd I miss?" Kori asked, as he stumbled through the undergrowth into the clearing, just in time to see the shadow of a large bug running into the forest. "Was that a Scolipede? Must have been them Venipede's mother. No wonder it attacked you." Kori stated, brushing remnants of a string shot off of his trousers. "Sorry I couldn't help. Got attacked by that Scolipede's Young, a group of Venipede. I thought I'd managed to scare them away, but it must have been your Scolipede's order." Kori explained, his Deino and Squirtle stumbling out of the bush as he said it. He returned them both, at the anger of Deino. "I guess this is Jesse." Kori said, walking over to the proffessor. "Nice to meet ya. I'm Kori Aruji." Kori said, holding out his hand for a Hand Shake.

Austin grabbed Pichu and Eevee. "Good job guys. You did great." he cheered. "Eve!" "Picha!" the Pokemon cried. He put the Pokemon down. "And Stay away!" Austin yelled to the Pendra. He turned to his bag and returned Eevee. Pichu crawled into Austin's bag. "Stay. Ok?" Austin said. Pichu nodded. Austin walked up to Jessie. "Hello Jessie. Nice Creamoo you have there. I'm Austin Black from Mandrin Island South. I helped the Vileplume back at the lab. She is all better now and seems to like me."

I got the name off of Bulbapedia, which has the English name as Pendra and the Japanese name as Pendror. So, I don't know which one is correct. XP And by the way, Jesse is Ivy's assistant, not a Professor. And, I'm sorry about the time differences thing. That has happened to me too.
"We...we actually got rid of it!" Nathan said, his voice hoarse. He couldn't believe what had just happened- they had taken on a full-scale Pendra/Scolipede and won! Nathan turned to his friends, a half-shocked, half-happy expression on his face. "I can't believe it! We did it!" At that moment, he saw Kori slip into the scene and was initially outraged that the boy hadn't participated in the battle, but after he explained about the horde of Fushide, Nathan let it go. Then, Kori extended his hand towards Jesse, and Nathan remembered why they were here.

"Oh yeah! Jesse, Professor Ivy is looking for you. She sent us out here to find you."

Ace's vision was continually blurring in and out of focus, but he didn't want to worry the other trainers. He knew he probably needed an antidote, but he had to figure out some way to get one. He staggered towards Nathan, stumbled, and fell against a tree. He gasped as a pain started to pulse through his veins. Seems like the poison's started to take effect, after all. Darn, I had hoped it wouldn't hurt me, as I'm not a Pokemon. He pushed himself off the tree, and managed to stand up straight and ignore the pain in his veins. "Hey, guys..." Pain erupted in his chest, and he couldn't speak for a moment. After taking a few deep breaths, he continued. "Do any of you have an antidote? I think that thing poisoned Volpecula, and all I have is Potions."

Melina had disappeared, not because she was being cowardly, but because the sight of the Electric Pokemon fighting had triggered her phobia and caused her to run away in a huge panic, accompanied by wonderfully high pitched screams and wild flailing arms. Indeed, one could say that she had momentarily transformed herself into the most formiddable thing within the jungle, save for the Pendra; Melina was once again disallowing any contact other than Guardon, and using him as a safety blanket again, she managed to calm herself once more. By then, the battle had ceased, and when she returned, she lingered slightly; then deeming the situation to be safe, she approached Jesse.

"Hello, I'm Melina Swift," she smiled. "S-Sorry about abanonding you, only I have a ... phobia of Electric Pokemon, and..." She gulped nervously, hoping that the assistant would pick up the hint.

((OOC:Time zones are s*** sometimes :/))

He accepted the handshake that Kori had offered and smiled. "Yeah I'm Jesse, nice to meet you too and help for the help you guys offered. If you guys wouldn't have found me I would've been in big trouble" He admitted and smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry to have drag you into this mess though" He added, and looked around.

One of the trainers didn't seem to feel so good.. hadn't he been the one that had been attacked by that pokémon!? He didn't have time to ask him how he was feeling before another one of the trainer's came up to him.

"Oh a native, I'm almost one since I've lived here almost my whole life." Jesse exclaimed and smiled, he hadn't really expected to run into a native islander as most trainers around here were the ones coming from other regions. "I've not been to Mandarin South though, we've mostly hung around here on Hamlin Island as my dad works here and now I do too. It's kinda silly really that I haven't seen much of the other islands during the thirteen years I've spent here" He said and laughed a little at his own sillyness.

As Nathan spoke up he nodded. "Oh, so that's why you were coming for me then" he mumbled, "well it's lucky that she was concerned enough to send you out here and I'm glad you told me she needs me back at the lab" He said, bowing his head down a little to show his gratitude.

At that moment one of the other trainers, the one that had seemed a bit sick earlier, staggered around and then fell down by a tree, asking for an antidote. Jesse gasped a little and started to dig through his backpack, fishing out the antidote. "I have one, I've used a little bit on it but there's still plenty left" he said as he walked over an knelt down by the injured boy, finding his wound and opening the bottle. "Now, I want you to be prepared for this to sting like hell" He said and grinned a little as he started to apply the medicine on the wound.

As he was applying the medicine to the wound a girl walked up to him, seeming a bit awkward. He smiled a warm smile at her when she explained what had happened, "no worries, we're alright as you can see and nobody blames you for your fears" He said, giving the bottle of antidote to the injured trainer if he needed more and getting up from the ground, dusting himself off. "I'm Jesse McHeartney, the famed assistant of Ivy's apparently" he said and laughed a little.

Ace hissed quietly as the antidote was sprayed on him. The pain intensified for a moment, and then the fire in his veins faded. Soon it was completely gone, and his vision was completely clear. "Thanks," he said, before latching his hand onto his helper's shoulder and hauling himself to a standing position. Only then did he realize who it was he was holding, and who had saved him. He immediately let go, and almost fell back against the tree. "You...you're Jesse, the Professor's assistant!" he gasped out. His attention was diverted when he saw his Eevee lying a few feet away. He ran over to her, and saw that she was just asleep; she hadn't fainted. He breathed a sigh of relief, before pulling her back into her PokeBall, where she could rest more completely. "Now what?"
