He woke up earlier in the morning and found that he bread had been stolen. But he still had no idea on how to earn some money. Alexander was walking down the street when he heard a commotion. With nothing better to do, he found himself watching a pokemon street battle. Alakazam vs Spirit Tomb. He heard people shouting and when the pokemon finished fighting-Alakazam won-he saw people exchange money. At first he thought it was weird but then he found loose change rolling around on the ground. With his diminutive size, he fished out as many loose coins as possible. He needed this money in order to survive. 200 dollars, he thought. If that enough to survive.

He didn't realize that it was pokemon gambling in the streets and started to watch a second battle, when police came up and started scaring people off. Alexander tried to run, but fell over after tripping. Everyone had scattered, but the police had come up to him. One said, "I saw you in the crowd gathering up people's money. We have been trying to find this for a long time and have been watching this place for a week now." Alexander said nothing. That same policeman said, "Did you know that you were stealing from those people?" Alexander wasn't sure what to say.

Another policeman said, "Stop giving this poor child a hard time, Rick." And they all laughed. Alexander tried to make himself as small as possible. Iron-Friend popped out of his pokeball. The policeman-Rick-said, "Since you probably didn't know better, I will let you off with a warning." "Your always so serious Rick." They laughed and walked away. Alexander could see the trainers in the back of the police cars.

He sighed. But he had 200 dollars. Perhaps he could find a boat or something. And try to find a less populated island.

Chu looked up at Ace while she was in Daniel's hands, and sent a small jolt of electricity at him, precisely targeting his nervous system and sending a message of her distaste in the form of searing phantom pain. "Sorry about that! She's not very good at fighting, at least not yet, but she has learned how to use electricity to affect both human and Pokemon nervous systems. She can use the static electricity she carries to create phantom pain or happiness, depending on how she is feeling." He continued to pet the Joltik, trying to calm her down. "As I said, she likes her perch on top of my head. She can see what I see, disguise herself as a patch of yellow hair so she will be largely ignored by people, and, since most of my body heat escapes through my head, she will always be nice and warm. She doesn't really like it when I take her out like this." Daniel grimaced, indicating that she shocked him again to emphasize her displeasure.

Ace grimaced as he was shocked, but said nothing and endured the pain. Slowly pulling his hand back, he looked at it curiously. After a minute, he looked back up at Daniel. "That's okay. I guess I didn't really expect for her to be real friendly when I first met her." He looked around, before facing the forest. "Volpecula!" He called out his Eevee, and she quickly came running. After laughing at her energy, Ace pointed to Daniel's hands. At first, Volpecula cocked her head, confused. "Volpie, there's a small Pokemon, a Joltik named Chu, hiding up there in Daniel's hair. I want you to promise me that you'll be on your best behavior whenever you're around him, okay?"

"Eevee!" Volpecula shouted, before lowering her ears in shame. Ace laughed. "It's okay now. Just be careful, okay?" His Eevee nodded gravely, before walking slowly up to Daniel, and sniffing gently at him.

Austin was writing more stuff about Eevee, Vopecula, and Pichu. Then he saw the Joltik. Austin's eyes grew huge. "AN ELECTRIC TYPE!" He jumped up to Daniel, dropping his notepad. Pichu looked up at his master.

"Joltik! The smallest Electric type and the smallest Pokemon ever found! It's other name is Bachuru! He is the the bug electric Pokemon! And BLAH BLAH BLAH..." Austin continued on and on about the Pokemon. Then Austin came to his senses when Eevee bit him. "Oh.... I'm sorry. I'm a sucker for Electric type Pokemon."

Daniel knelt down and showed the Eevee his little Joltik. The teeny Pokemon inquisitively, but gently, poked Eevee in the nose with one of its legs, then skittered out of Daniel's hands, up onto the top of Volpecula's head, and settled down inside of the Eevee's tuft of fur. Gentle shocks that stimulated the Eevee's pleasure centers gave the Pokemon a soothing sensation of warmth and happiness. Daniel scritched both Volpecula's head and Chu's little body, chuckling. "Your Eevee must get along with Pokemon very well! I've never seen Chu bond with anyone, Pokemon or human, this quickly! It took me a month before she would stop shocking me whenever I tried to be friendly! She is so shy and defensive because she is so small, and she is very aware of it. She is wary of Pokemon and humans that she doesn't know because she is afraid they might do something to her."

Ace stared at the Joltik, which was now nestled deep in his own Pokemon partner's fur. "She's always been friendly. But..." He paused, and looked over at Volpecula again. "I have to agree with you; even though she's cheery and happy all the time, she's never really taken to anyone or anything but me, at least not that fast." Volpecula, who was usually bouncing around crazily, was now walking cautiously around, taking extra care not to jostle the small Pokemon nestled in her tuft of fur. She waltzed slowly over to Ace, who knelt down and gently rubbed the fur on top of his head. Standing up, he looked at Daniel. "Maybe we should be taking a cue from them?" He offered another smile to him, then turned and looked affectionately at his Eevee. She was now laying down on the ground, and had begun to doze off. Ace could only assume that Chu, Daniel's Joltik, was following suit.

It was true. As her Eevee...well, "host" was as accurate as anything...settled down for a nap, Chu curled up and blended right into Volpecula's fur pattern. In fact, it now looked like the Eevee's tuft on the top of her head had turned yellow! Daniel chuckled as he stood up, looking over the duo. "I'm assuming you keep her out of her Pokeball? I do. She just shocks me whenever I pull hers out. Just, if you do, be careful. I have no idea what would happen if you recalled your Eevee while my Joltik was enjoying Volpecula's static electricity! By the way, where did you get the name? I realized that she was a lot like the Pikachu of the Legendary Pokemon Trainer, Ash Ketchum, except a bit more liberal on the shocks, so I named her 'Chu'. Seemed fitting, and she hasn't objected to it."

Josh letted out Abra and let it play with the other Pokémon. Himself sat on a patch of grass nearby. Kickerizer seemed to have a bad day, so he was in his Poké Ball (so he could'nt hit someone). Josh heard something about a Electric Pokémon and hair, not really willing to check it up. He walked up to the group again. "Dont you fel tired? I feel pretty tried... You know where we can spend the night?" Josh had had than though in his head a long time, and it kinda worried him. He was maby forced to sleep outside. Josh did'nt like sleeping outside. What if a bug crawled in in his ear while he was sleeping? Josh forced himself to think about other things.

Daniel gave a strange look to the nearby kid, then checked his watch. "Man, you must have come a long ways to be tired! It's only 3:00, local time! Our Pokemon are just settling down for an afternoon nap, that's all!" Daniel sat down next to the sleeping Pokemon and pulled his laptop out, which he started up. He fistpumped once he got a wireless signal, and started researching things about the Orange Islands. He motioned for Ace to sit down next to him. "Well, since we're gonna be buddies, you want to know what I know about the Orange Islands, the Orange League and the Orange Crew?"

Ace nodded, eager to learn more about this place. He gave a friendly nod to the kid who had appeared, before sitting down, with Daniel on one side, and his sleeping Pokemon on the other. He gently put a hand on his Eevee's fur, and began to slowly stroke it. "I thought you were a Bug-Fanatic," he said curiously. "I didn't know you knew about this place too." Shrugging, he put it out of his mind. "Our Pokemon look so calm," he said, as a dreamy look came over his eyes. What's it feel like, he thought, to curl up with your best friend? He gave a quiet sigh, then shook his head and turned his attention to Daniel's laptop, again eager to learn all about the Orange Islands.

"You can go ahead and do that," A voice murmured from several feet away from the new buddies, "But we're here!" Nathan pointed to an area up ahead, where a large white building was shimmering in the heat. Nathan had noticed that as they had traveled down the road, the large city buildings had begun to transition into smaller, homelier abodes, until finally, it had receded into freshly dewy grass. The hustle-and-bustle of the city has somehow been replaced by a calm nature-y atmosphere, in which the only thing that impinged on that was a large, white laboratory that extended out on a bluff over the sea, in which around dwelt many different Pokemon, of many different species. Being the only house within several blocks is naturally caught the young Trainer's attention, and they knew without a doubt that it had to be Professor Ivy's laboratory.

Excitement rising once more, Nathan looked back at the large group of Trainers behind him and, with a lopsided smile, shouted, "Race you there!" And without a second thought, he leapt into the air and began racing to the dwelling with a laugh. Nathan had never felt so close to his goal; Trainer-ism was so close, he could almost taste it! This thought was what propelled Nathan down the road and finally, to knock on the laboratory's door.

"Um, come on in!" A faint voice said from within, and with only a small amount of trepidation (the sort associated with anxiousness) Nathan did so, and walked into the lab.

"Hello there!" Professor Ivy said tiredly, looking up from a table in which a Vileplume laid. Nathan walked in, his mouth literally hanging wide open. The room in which he had entered had knocked his socks off.

At first glance, it hadn't seemed that extraordinary; it was wide and spacious, yes, and large windows extended on the far walls to show a breathtaking vista of the ocean, but, besides that, this room could have been anywhere in the world. Combine that with a bunch of laboratory stuff, like a clinical steel table, counters stacked high with test tubes, microscopes, and other things Nathan had no name for, and a soft white and yellow decor job, and this room could have been one of thousands found in high school science rooms all around the Pokemon world. The thing that made it stand out, however, was not the room itself, but the occupants; besides the trainers crowding in the doorway and the tall redhead in a lab coat, the room was positively teeming with Pokemon, some lying in cages, some walking around, some sleeping; there had to be at least two dozen Pokemon in that room alone, and the strang-est thing was, most of them were Shiny.

"Wow..." Nathan breathed, looking at all the incredible lifeforms around him. "This is...this is..."

"Come on in, all of you!" Professor Ivy said, looking a little shopworn at the moment. However, this did not impinge on her beauty; even in a lab coat, even in an unflattering blouse and T-shirt, the woman's beauty shone through. "As you can see, I'm a bit busy," the Professor continued, gesturing down to the patient that was lying below her. "This poor Vileplume had been infected with some dreadful disease, and I need to get it out of her- and with my assistant gone, that's been a little...hard...but, enough about that," The woman said, finally turning away from the Pokemon and looking at the group with sharp, calculating green eyes. "I suppose you're here for your Trainer's License, yes?"

Josh ran to the lab pretty slow, but he did'nt come last at least. He entered the lab. Nathan was already in there. And a woman without lab coat... Must be the Professor, or someone senile that had forgot her lab coat at home; he though. It smelled pretty good, acctually. A bit like strawberries. Josh smiled. "Hey, Nathan! Is this where we get our Trainer Licenses?" Josh said, pretty euantasticly.

It was beautiful. The room was filled with pokemon and equipment. Some he had seen before, some he had used before, some he had only seen his brother's books The knowledge he could gain here! For a moment, he considered his future. Breeding the perfect pokemon and using them to accomplish a certain dream would be easier if he had access to the the facilities in this lab. Professor Ivy did say her assistant recently left... He discarded the thought. While her lab was a treasure store of information, he wanted to go find things out himself, hands on. And he only needed his trainer license. Nothing more. Unless she had pokedexs. His brother had gotten on in his travels and Duke was will to kill for one of those to call his own.

Aiden entered the lab of the legendary Professor Ivy. "Oh my Graveler this place is more amazing then I could have imagined." Aiden was stunned as he looked around the room just thinking about all of the Pokémon knowledge inside this very room. "Hi Professor I am Aiden Marx from Blackthorn City. I just wanted to say that it is an honor to meet you since you are the one who made me want to become a Pokémon professor." Aiden was still in awe of this great establishment and just being in the same room as Professor Ivy. He leaned down to his Charmander and whispered something to it. "Empress look Professor Ivy in the flesh." The Charmander lifted its head up after being asleep on Aiden's neck.

"Alright Riolu use Quick Attack."

-The small blue pokemon jumped from one tree and then flashed forward striking a Beedrill in the side. The yellow and black flying bug pokemon flew back slamming into a tree branch before hitting the ground. The fighting style armor landed next to his trainer: a young man by the name of Edward. He wasn't planing on catching the Beedrill; there was't a reason for it actually. It just had come out and attacked him for no reason. Pulling out a poke-ball he called back his Riolu and placed the poke-ball back on his belt. It was a good amount of time wasted in going to Professor Ivy's lab. Well at least they had some time to waste in a small battle. His eyes shifted into the sky then down towards the ground. From what the nurse said at the pokemon center a group of trainers had already left to the lab. He wasn't far.-

-With a calm breath of air Edward moved forward coming closer and closer to the lab. The time of travel wasn't that long. In fact, he actually made perfect timing to this place. Entering into the room just in time before it shut behind the last person that had entered. He kept to the back of the group watching only a few speak. Silence a strong motivation for him until being spoken to. There really wasn't much for him to say actually.-

Melina entered the laboratory, completely unaware of the two Electric Pokemon's presence. Guardon seemed to be in the same state of bliss as well, because he was more preoccupied with how beautiful the laboratory was. In fact, both Pokemon and Trainer were so preoccupied that they forgot about Professor Ivy, and it was only several seconds later did Melina realise that she had even asked them a question.

"Hmm? Oh - yes! I am here for the ... license," she pipped up. Even then, she was still blissfully unaware that her phobia was bound to go off any minute soon, once she realised who else was in the party with them....

"Yeah, well, that might be a little difficult at present, what with this going on," Professor Ivy said, gesturing down towards the Vileplume. "If only my assistant was here!" she remarked. "Where Jesse could have gone to, I have no idea..." But right then, an idea did seem to pop into her head, and the halfhearted smile on her face slid off completely. "If that boy is...No, he couldn't possibly..." Professor Ivy seemed to muse to herself for a second. "You know what, I bet he has." She concluded, leaving the Trainers completely baffled.

"You Trainers! Would you like to help me out?" Without waiting for an answer, she continued on. "With the current situation on my hands, I cannot give out Trainer's Licenses. But! If my assistant was here, he could do it for you- but, unfortunately, he's not. I have a hunch were he is- my assistant is a bit...reckless. He does things without thinking of the consequences that happen afterward. Just earlier this morning, I heard him mention something about he had seen a glimpse of some 'Legendary Pokemon", in the forest just north of this lab." Felina made a gesture with his head. "I fear he's gone off in search of this Pokemon. I know this is a lot to ask of you, but do you think you could go see if he's in the forest, and if so, bring him back? You'll be sure to catch all sorts of Pokemon in the forest, and unless you want for me to finish up here, it's the only way you'll be able to get your Pokemon License. So- can I trust you Trainers to help out a damsel in distress?"

Daniel got up and went into the Lab, hoping Ace would carry Volpecula (and, by effect, Chu) with him. He went inside and bowed to Professor Ivy before remembering something. He fished around in his backpack before pulling out a black chip. "Professor Ivy, my region's Professor, Professor Juniper, has been meaning to get in contact with you for a while, but you didn't have the proper satellite uplink card for your videophone. She asked me to give this uplink card to you so you can make more distant videophone calls." He indicated to her videophone. "I could go ahead and install it if you want."

"Go into the forest?" repeated Melina. She paused, thought about it, and then added, "Sure ... I guess. I mean, it's not like there's going to be any Electric Pokemon in there, right?" This was partly rhetorical, but she was certain that the likelihood of encountering that type of Pokemon would be low. Sure, there would be plenty of grass and bug Pokemon, but with Guardon protecting her, she felt safer anyway. Not to mention she didn't have a problem with those types.

"Eh?" Ivy said, looking confusedly at the young man who had just bowed to her. "Professor...Juniper? Beatrice? Why in the world would...no, no, I'll take care of it." Wiping her hand on a dishtowel, Ivy accepted the chip and with rather difficulty (She was still only using one hand) placed it in her videophone. It flickered to life, and a second later, after Ivy had pressed a few buttons on it, the image of Unova's female professor came on the screen.

"Hey, Bea!" Professor Ivy said enthusiastically, "What are ya doing, contacting me all the way from that backwater?" A warm smile spread across her face to show she just meant that as a joke.

"I doubt there will be any Electric Pokemon there," Nathan said to Melina, since Professor Ivy looked a little disposed at the moment. "I wonder what type of Pokemon we will find, however..." He said thoughtfully.

"Hopefully there will be some good Pokemon out there. It would be a shame that we get here, and don't see any decent Pokemon on the first island." Aiden said to Nathan. He then thought to himself how disappointed he would be not to find a single wild Pokemon on the very first island. "Professor Ivy, if it wouldn’t be to hard could you tell us what king of Pokemon are in the forest. It would really help us get an idea of what we could face in there." Aiden asked the Professor hoping she would answer, and allow him to gain some knowledge on the area for his journal.

Professor Juniper waved. "It's so good to see you, Felina! The other female Pokemon Professor called out. "But I'm not the one in the backwater, you island queen, you!" She giggled at her bad rebuttal, but they were both laughing, so it wasn't any problem. "Anyways, I would love to catch up with you and reminisce about our college days, but I need you to do me a favor. You see, Arti, the Castelia Gym Leader, asked me to ask you to help out a student of his. His name is Daniel Andrews, you know, the kid with the goggles from the Internet. He's on a mission from Arti to catch Volcarona, an incredibly rare Pokemon that is said to have a roost somewhere in the Orange Islands. I don't know how much you would be able to help him, but at least update his Pokedex and his license. Would you, please?" Beatrice got all cutesy and made a puppy dog face. "Pwetty pwease Fewina? Would you help your old roommate and best friend?"

"Alright, if you put it that way." Felina laughed. "Of course I will help. After some -erm- business is taking care of, I'll update his license." Suddenly, there was a loud groan from the Vileplume, and Ivy's expressions changed. "Uh-oh. Gotta go, Bea! See you later!" Shutting the videophone down hastily, she bent over the Vileplume and started making measurements.

"Uh, what was that you said?" Came Ivy's voice, muffled by the steel table. "The Pokemon in that region? Well, there are all sorts...mostly Bug and Grass Pokemon, like Yanma and Sewaddle...if you get close enough to the beaches, however, you'll encounter Pokemon like Marill and Surskit...and some Munchlaxs have been found, too...Oh, Darkrai it! This isn't good." Ivy looked around at the group behind her and said, "Um, I don't want to sound rude, but do you think you could leave? This isn't going to be pretty..."

***

"Well, that was...strange." Nathan said, after quickly exiting the lab. "I guess we should go look for that assistant, huh? And a Muchlax...hm, I could do with one of those..."

Josh stayed too long and saw what the Vileplume did. He wish he did'nt, and walked out of the lab, ready to throw up.
"Where do we wanna start search? I mean, it's oblivious we should start in the forset, but should we go North, South, West or East?"
Josh was'nt very happy when he heard wich Pokémon that they would be able to catch. He did'nt want a single one of those... He acctually found Bug Pokémon quite scary.

"Well I should have success in this forest with my Charmander. Does anyone know what the assistant even looks like?" Aiden asked the rest of the group as they headed towards the forest. "Cause it would be a waste if we get inside there, and don't even know what we should be looking for." Aiden was trying to think of a bug or grass type Pokemon he would want to add to his team. "Empress what do you think if we try to catch a Chikorita. I think you and Bayleef would be great friends if one came across our path." The Pokemon nodded her head in approval.
