Up until this point, Nathan had been all but gone from the battle; but before you accuse him of cowardice, it would be best to know the young man had been retrieving his (healed) Pokemon from the Nurse. Indeed, he appeared back on the deck just in time to be sent flying away by the wave Gyarados stirred up. Getting to his feet hastily, Nathan noted that the situation had seemingly gotten worse during the time he had been gone; Gyarados seemed angrier than ever, and the Pokemon facing him seemingly had no effect. Kusajin, had also seemingly disappeared.

Don't lose hope! Nathan told himself firmly. You guys handled the Scolipede just fine, didn't you? However, Nathan had a feeling that this Gyarados was a lot stronger than the Scolipede, but, before this thought could affect him, Nathan had charged into battle, summoning Kip and Roli as he did so.

Remembering what Daniel had said, Nathan decided to use his Pokemon to distract the Gyarados. "Roli! Use Water Sport- get him distracted by the rain. Kip- Metronome, while we have some time!" His Pokemon instantly started working, Roli doing some sort of rain dance, which caused a light drizzle to start falling, while Kip began his Metronome dance.

Chu finally finished repairing the net, and Daniel replied by picking up one end. "Great work, guys! Now, Chu has some extra lines connected to the net for you all to attach to your Electric Pokemon. Also, I need some help throwing this huge thing. On the count of 3, I want us to throw the net onto the Gyarados, and when it is on, I will yell 'Now!'. When I do that, Chu will send a charge through the net towards the Gyarados, and I would like any other Electric Pokemon hooked up to the net to do the same! Don't worry! There's about 30 feet of slack between the hoops the Electric Pokemon will be attached to and the net itself, and the net is not sticky!" As he said this, Chu attached herself to the net.

Austin smiled as his Pichu went to attack. "Go get `em Pichu!" he yelled. Then Pichu flew right past and Austin remembered, Pichu cannot swim. "PICHU!" Austin screamed. The wave of water slammed onto the deck as Austin tried to jump off the boat. Austin hit a floating table that was hit by the wave. Shiny Eevee was on the table. Austin hit the table with his head, knocking him unconscious. Eevee tried to pull Austin onto the table but failed. The table was lunged off the side of the boat and into the ocean below. Pichu was nowhere to be found. Austin's unconscious body was carried to Nathan's feet. You could tell he was alive, because he was breathing, but he could have a concussion.

The water slammed into both Kit and Alice. Duke too. He lost his footing and slid a few feet, but the worst of the swell was past before he could leave the deck. Kit huddled down and let it wash over him, though he was clearly pissed about it. Alice, was too busy drowning to properly show her dislike. He position on the rail did not provide the surest footing to weather the wave and she had been washed over board and into the sea. He whipped out her pokeball. "Alice! Return!" The red beam plucked her form the surging waters and into the, relative, safety of her pokeball. She didn't have the capacity to fight back in any case.

"Kit," Duke yelled as he shook the sea water from his hair to prevent it from running down his face and blocking his vision. "Grab a line and give it your strongest spark when Daniel gives the go!" he instructed. As for himself, he ran as quickly as he could to the closest railing the hung on in case another wave came washing onboard.

Ace had been ready to send Volpecula into battle, but he had been hesitant, and now that the boat was rocking, he saw it would be even harder. Refusing to use his items, hoping she could battle, Ace stumbled as he pointed at the Gyarados. "Let's see what you can do against that thing, Volpie. Use your Quick Attack!" As his Eevee stumbled around the deck of the boat and tried to head towards the Gyarados, Ace looked at the PokeBall which contained his unconscious Buizel. He looked around, desperate. "Does anyone have a Revive!?" he shouted out, hoping he could project his voice over the noise the Pokemon were causing.

"I do." There was suddenly a gruff voice from behind Ace, and suddenly something small and diamond-shaped was pressed into Ace's hand; it was a revive, but the man who had given it didn't stay around to hear Ace say thanks for it. He strode forward valiantly until he was clearly in sight of the raging Gyarados, looking confident and unruffled. He was maybe sixty years old, but was fit and tanned. He wore a captain's hat over shaggy gray hair and a tattered captain's coat over blue jeans and a pair of mud-spattered black boots. The Gyarados eyed him uncertainly for a second- he was shocked someone had actually approached him so nonchalantly, and then, lunged for the man.

"Salamence, use Draco Meteor." The man's voice was as relaxed as his motions, and yet what happened next was extraordinary. A large comet-like object, surrounded by blue and purple flames, descended from the sky and with a large boom, hit the Gyarados and sent him flying back into the water. There was a woosh like jets flying overhead, and a red-and-blue dragon soared into view; large, ferocious and had a large grey shell on his underbelly; it was the Dragon Pokemon, Salamence.

Gyarados, by this point, had been thrust far underground by the momentuous attack, and as it came back up to surface, there was newborn fear in it's eyes; with something that was between a squeal and a roar, it turned tail and fled far out into the ocean, until it was out of sight of the boat.

Cheering erupted around the group as the passengers saw that the Gyarados had left. The ship's crew appeared to help the passengers out of their various problems and back to their cabins, where they could recover from this ordeal. For the man who had caused the Gyarados to flee, well, he turned around to gaze at the Trainers who had helped him fight off the Gyarardos. His eyes were a dark, piercing brown, and a bushy moustache erupted above his lip. Something about the man's appearance stirred a memory within Nathan- in a second it clicked and Nathan knew who it was, but at that moment the man began to speak-

"Hello, Trainers." Drake, former member of the Hoenn Elite Four and captain of the S.S. Amelia said. "Thank you for your help."

Eevee licked Austin's face after the Gyarados ran away. Austin woke up slowly. He searched the are to see no water-type snake-like Pokemon anywhere. He looked up at Nathan and Drake. Austin was fine. He stood up and picked up Eevee. "We did it huh?!" Austin said. Shiny Eevee looked at Austin as if to say 'YOU didn't do anything!' Austin smiled. Eevee jumped down and wandered to the railings. Then Austin saw something. "Where's Pichu?" Austin asked. Eevee nudged his head to the sea. "WHAT!" Austin yelled. "Pichu can't swim!" Austin said. He turned to the crowd of kids that was adventuring with him. "Guys! We have a situation! Pichu was knocked into the ocean by the Gyarados and Pichu can't swim!" Austin said. He looked into the sea. Pichu was nowhere to be found. "I can't see him! Guys help me!" he yelled as tears formed in his eyes.

Kusajin and Glut slowly swam towards the ladder that had been dropped down. About halfway there, Kusajin felt a small tug on his pant leg. Dismissing it as seaweed or some sea plant, he continued to swim, still feeling a slight weight on his left leg.
"Glut, hold on for a second." Kusajin brought his hand down and felt what was weighing down his leg. He felt an oddly shaped ear, which felt like short, wet fur. He grabbed the tip of the ear, and yanked it off of his leg. He pulled the object up and found it was a small, yellow Pokemon. He inspected it more closely, and noticed the Pokemon appeared to be unconscious. With his command, Glut continued, until they reached the ladder. Kusajin recalled Glut into its Pokeball, as he climbed the ladder, with the wet Pokemon in his hand.

Austin saw Kusaijn bring a small yellow Pokemon up onto the deck. "P-Pichu!?" Austin yelled. "IT IS!" Austin yelled running up to Kusaijn and grabbing the Pichu. He turned in circles, hugging the small, electric type Pokemon. "PICHU! I'm glad you're alive!" Austin yelled. Then Austin stopped. "Guys. This isn't Pichu." Austin stated. Eevee gave Austin an confused look as if he was saying; "Why?". "This one is a girl. I'm pretty sure Pichu is a boy. Last time I checked." Austin said. The female Pichu looked at Austin and smiled. "This one can help us find Pichu!"

Ace had turned his attention at the gruff voice. He looked up at the man as he pressed the diamond-shaped item into his hand. As he walked off, Ace wondered who the heck he was. Oh well. Whoever he was, he was kind enough to give me this Revive, and for no cost either. I'm not going to question it. Ace was quick to pull out his Pokeball containing Jet, and administered the item. He released the newly revived Buizel, even though he wasn't at his full strength. At the same time, Volpecula stumbled back to him. She hadn't fought much, but he could see that she wasn't the most friendly with the sea. With a chuckle, he recalled the Eevee. His mind caught at the voice; it sounded familiar, but...Turning, he saw himself facing a man, who was very-well-respected-looking. "You're--" His voice caught, awed by his presence, or at least, who he thought his presence was...

"Aye, boy, I am Drake. Former member of the Elite Four." Drake gave a nod at Ace. "Now, what was this about a Pichu?" Drake turned to Austin, eying him and the Pokemon he held with a piercing stare. "Are you sure about that, laddy? There's not much Pichus around these parts, and I can swear I've seen that Pichu before."

"It's not his's, alright." Nathan suddenly said, and Drake looked at him, surprised. "Austin's Pokemon was most definitely male. Also, look at that collar around the Pichu's neck" -Nathan pointed at a leather collar around the female's Pikachu's throat, half-hidden by the yellow fur- "That was most definitely not there on Austin's Pichu. This collar says...Name: Chi-Chi. Owner: Marisa Kurosawa."

"That's it!" Drake said suddenly. "This Pikachu was with a dark-haired girl- this Marisa. She boarded my ship on Hamlin Island. But then- why was this Pichu in the water? And where's Marisa?"

"Why don't we find her and ask?" Nathan said, and he glanced at his companions. "We can get Chi-Chi to lead us to this girl, and hopefully to Austin's Pichu. Can't you, Chi-Chi?" The Pichu squealed when it heard it's name, and although Nathan wasn't sure the Pichu fully understood, it seemed to be saying yes, I can.

Austin smiled at hearing the Pichu's name. "Hey there Chi-Chi!" Austin said. Chi-Chi smiled and winked at Austin. Shiny Eevee tugged at Austin's pants. Austin looked down. "Eevee. What's wrong?" Austin asked. Chi-Chi jumped out of Austin's arms and started playing with Eevee. Eevee then pulled Austin to the railing of the boat. Austin looked into the distance to see a small tug boat. "Guys! There's a tug boat over there!" The boat was far away but you could see that there was a girl in the boat and a small yellow Pokemon. "Ok guys. I think I know what happened!" Austin said. "When Pichu missed Gyarados and fell into the ocean, he really fell into the boat without Marisa knowing. Then Kusajin pulled Chi-Chi out of the ocean!" Austin continued. "But that still dosen't explain how Chi-Chi got into the ocean...."
I hope this is okay Lux.
Duke groaned and flashed sea water from his hair and eyes with a bit more force than necessary. His clipped the railing, sending jolts of pain up his arm. He stuck it in his mouth both to soothe it as well as to smother the yelp that was threatening to burst out. As his eyes watered, he joined the others by the former elite trainer. To think that one of the former members of the twenty top trainers in the world was captain of their boat. He wasn't going to question it, not after he saved there life and all, but he did wonder if he would be upset if he gave him an awe-struck respective look.

Kit and Alice grumbled at his feet, for once not fighting, but clearly not liking the fact thay they were soaking wet. With salt water. Their coats were already looking raggedy and messy. Duke would have to brush them out later. He realized that his clothes was soaked too. The clothes in his pack. He groaned and wondered when next he could find a stream, a fresh water stream, to rinse off in. But that was after they found this Marisa person.

Ace listened to all of it quietly. However, he was confused. He walked alongside his friends, but he kept glancing curiously at the Pichu. He couldn't see anything special about it, save for the collar, but that didn't seem so important. Granted, it could be lost, and he was all for helping Pokemon. But why was Drake, a former Elite Four member, helping them out. Hoping that they would be able to figure it out along the way, he decided to just go along with them all. He stared out at the small tug boat, along with the girl and the yellow shape. He gripped his two Poke Balls, glad he had his two friends. What would happen if I lost either of them? He gripped them tighter. I won't let that happen, no matter what.

"And why would she be in a tugboat in the first place?" Nathan asked. Drake, turning to him, looked pensieve, and was just about to say something when a crew member came up to Drake and said, "Captain! One of the lifeboats is missing from the port side, sir!"

"Thank you, James. Report to your post. I'll deal with it." The man snapped a salute and retreated. Turning back to the Trainers, Drake said, "It looks like you have your answer. Though this is a lot of guesswork, I'd have to say Marisa was frightened by the Gyarados and thought it would sink the ship, so she got onto a lifeboat, along with Chi-Chi."

"So, it's not a tugboat, it's a lifeboat...and that explaines why she's out so far and on a different sea vessel, even though you remembered her boarding the ship.

"Aye. Pichu must have fallen into her boat, and then Chi-Chi, for one reason or another, was knocked out of it. Now, Marisa is going to land on Kumquat with the wrong Pichu." Drake said succintly.

"Yeah...we got to catch her and exchange the Pichus!" Nathan exclaimed.

Drake nodded, but said, "I'm afraid I cannot come with you. I have my own problems to deal with here on the boat- like docking, for instance, which we will have to do in a couple of minutes. I'm afraid it'll have to be just you guys hunting her down."

Nathan inclined his head to show he agreed, but inside he was cringing. Drake was a powerful man- with his help, they would be able to track down Marisa with no problem. Now- now, it might be a little harder. "We understand. Thank you for your help." Nathan replied.

Drake gave a gruff nod and turned to retreat back inside the S.S. Amelia, recalling his Salamence as he did so.

"Okay......" Austin said quietly. "But wait! How far is Kumquat?" Austin asked Nathan. "And what will Marsia do to Pichu when they get to shore." Austin paced back and forth. Eevee and Chi-Chi watched him. Then the Pokemon started to ran around the deck as if to be playing a game of tag. Then Austin's eyes grew. "Gyarados is still in the ocean! What if Gyarados attacks the boat!?" Austin rambled. He started running around the deck in panic. "THAT GYARADOS COULD KILL THEM!"

Duke scowled and punched Austin in the back of his head. He had to jump a bit to do it too. He was already in something of a bad mood, with the sloppy performance of Alice and Kit earlier, having to give tough love and the attack on the boat. His subconjunctival hemorrhage had acted up and he was pretty sure his eyes were all red. Not swollen or sleepy red, but an angry blood red. All that, plus the reminder of his limited stature that the action provided had him a bit more than a tad ticked off. Austin was lucky he didn't decide to bounce off the railing to deliver to punch. He should count his blessings.

Looming, as much as someone his height could loom anyway, over Austin, he growled. Kit and Alice bristling and hissing at his feet only helped to raise the intimidation factor. "Get a grip Austin," he commanded. "DO you have such little faith in your pokemon? Calm down and focus on the trip and not on what can go wrong!"

Nathan resisted the urge to do the same thing to Austin as Duke did, and said, "C'mon, Austin, Duke is right. 'Sides, that Draco Meteor drove Gyarados far out to sea; I'd doubt he'll be getting close to the ship after that. Now, c'mon. Let's get our stuff ready for departure." Turning on his heel, Nathan called his Pokemon back into their Poke Balls and retreated into his room. A second later, he emerged, a bag on his back; Nathan was ready to go.

And, that was a good thing too, for as he emerged, Nathan heard the sounds of many people running around and what seemed to be an anchor dropping. Approaching the side of the ship, Nathan saw that they had docked on Kumquat Island.

Unlike Hamlin, Kumquat was not a bustling metropolis, instead being somewhere between a mid-sized town and a small city. But it was crowded enough; though the boat had docked in a man-made harbor, only a short ways away Nathan could see several luxury resort-like areas, and smaller, house and town-like buildings in between them. Bright white beaches stretching out before them, and the sun shined diligently in the sky. An army of towels and beach umbrellas had descended on said beaches, and even this far away, Nathan could hear the sounds of people playing at the beach.

"Nice," Nathan muttered as he crossed the gangplank and onto the harbor; only a short walk down this harbor led to the buildings and the beaches. "Can't wait to hit those beaches after we take care of business...hey, guys? Where'd you go?" Nathan turned and looked over his shoulder, trying to see if he could spot any of his friends departing from the S.S. Amelia.

Austin was punched in the back of the head. "What.... the..... F**K!" Austin yelled at the top of his lungs. As Duke tried to loom over Austin, Austin stood up and punched Duke in the gut at the same time. Then he shoved Duke onto the deck. Austin loomed over him and gave him the death stare. "If you ever punch me again, you'll wake the next day very confused, UNDERWATER!" Austin yelled. Austin kicked Duke repeatily and when he was done he walked over to Nathan.

"I know Pichu can make it! Pichu has always been brave! We've trained together ever since...." Austin paused and looked down. "T-T-The accident....." Austin turned away from Nathan and grabbed his bags. Eevee started following him. The boat docked. Austin started walking to Nathan. "Let's get Pichu."

Ace had remained on deck when Nathan had retreated to his room. He hadn't left anything in his room; he had managed to fill his pockets with what possessions he had that really mattered. He did, however, have his Poke Balls clipped onto his belt. Again, he felt them, then looked out at the sea again. Or rather...he looked up and saw himself facing Kumquat Island. Unable to resist, he jumped into the air, and let out a loud "Yeah!" Heads turned, but Ace ignored them all. He ran over, and leaned over the rail, trying to get as close as he could to the island without falling off. He heard a familiar voice, and, turning, saw Nathan emerge. He ran over to him, but he was already walking down the gangplank. Ace tried to shove past the rush of people, but to no avail. He sighed, then pushed as much as he could, slowly making his way down. When he finally arrived, he grabbed Nathan in a big friendly hug. "We're finally here!" he cried out.

((Wow. This is dead. Let's start it up again.))

Austin found a young girl, about 13, was wandering the beach. She was holding a Pichu. Austin's Pichu. "Hey! Marisa!" Austin yelled. The young girl looked up at Austin. Austin and Eevee hurried over to her. "I think you have my Pichu." he said holding out Chi-Chi. Marisa's eyes widen. "Chi-Chi!" she yelled grabbing the female Pichu and almost dropping Austin's Pichu. Austin grabbed him and held him close. Marisa hugged Austin tightly. "Thank you so much! I thought she was dead!" she said holding Austin. She let go and they exchanged names and numbers for future reference. Austin waved goodbye as she walked away with Chi-Chi.

As Austin was about to go back to the others, something hugged his leg. "WHA~?" Austin yelled. He looked down to see Vileplume.

Without the group knowing, Vileplume broke out of the lab, followed Austin, got on the ship and hid in the cargo space when Gyarados appeared. And when the ship docked, Vileplume followed Austin off.
