Naimo
Melina stood, blinking at the turn of events. She was busy turning the key over and over again in her hand; the castle definately sounded like an appealing place to go. She turned to Jesse and Kori, and was the first to speak. "This looks fun; I'm all for going to the castle. What about you guys?" She then walked back to Guardon and sat down again, sighing in relief as she did so; she was unaccustomed to standing for too long, mainly because of her walking difficulties, which arose from that electric shock she had recieved as a kid. Just one of the sideffects, the biggest being her phobia of all electric Pokemon. Urgh. She then remembered she was holding onto the envelope, and she gingerly stowed it away in her backpack, all while waiting for the others to speak. Master Red
"I'm totally up for going to that castle, it sounds like a really good place for me to do some field research" Jesse answered, feeling quite excited about that castle. Although, he didn't really know what kind of field studies Ivy had wanted him to do. He'd have to call her later and ask if she wanted him to study something in specific or if it was all up to him. If he could choose for himself he could study how the behavior of trained pokémon differed from the ones in the wild. Since he had an egg it would be a great way for him to study how a pokémon that was raised by a trainer from birth would act compared to its peers in the wild. Quiksilver
"Excuse me, are you two the last two Trainers on the boat?" A deep bass voice asked from behind the trio. Turning would provide the young Trainers with a view of the announcer who had just announced the semifinals round. "It seems you are, since everyone else says they are not it, and those men over there says you guys beat them," The man gestured towards a point in the room where Trevor could be seen talking to the older man. "If you are, we need you guys up front- the semifinals are about to commence, and you two being semifinalists, you don't want to miss that, eh? Since the other pair have already teamed up, it looks like you two need to do the same. Well, come up when you're ready okay?" The man smiled, and turned to walk back towards the front of the cabin. GreyCat
Duke had half a mind not to. Most of their injuries was from their spat and not from Nathan's team, so it would be a lesson to them. But he still loved his charges, and didn't like mistreating them. No matter how rebellious, uncooperative, disagreeable and conflicting they might be. "A quick stop by the nurse would be good," he said. "She might even have something for seasickness I could take." There were some treatments that worked just as well for people as they did for pokemon. He glanced down at the two cats, who had distinct looks of relieve on their faces. Duke smiled and added, "Besides, loving someone is so much easier if they are health and not teetering on the brink of consciousness. I can love them for so much longer."
Magnet Soldier
"Y-y-yeah. Old, Sp-sp-spooking ruin of a castle sounds great." Kori stuttered, grabbing the key lightly, as if it was cursed. Well, there's supposedly a Legendary Pokémon there. Nothing can happen if there's a Legendary pokémon there keeping the Peace, right? He thought, trying to erase his cowardliness. He was glad to be notified of the Semi-Finals, to get his mind of the probably haunted Castle. "Well, we want to win the prize money, dont we?" Kori asked, shrugging and then walking over to the Area that seemed to have been blocked off for the battles. "Squirtle's a bit tired, so Deino'll be fighting. Seems Jordan's the same way, so I presume Guardon'll be battling?" Kori asked, walking over to the Battling Area, summoning Deino out of her Pokéball. Quiksilver
"The other challengers approach!" The announcer man bellowed as Melina and Kori drew closer. There was a clapping noise from the crowd, which seemed a tad half-hearted, probably due to the fact the crowd was mostly made up of Trainers who had just been defeated. A small field made of a darked wood had been placed here, resembling the fields at the Elite Four Tournament, and at the other side waited a boy and girl; they were obviously Melina's and Kori's opponents. The girl, who was on the left, obviously came from high stock; the mini skirt and petticoat combo she wore was of the highest degree, and a sense of opulence was instilled when you looked at her rather fox-like, smirking face, and the shimmering flow of black hair that fell down her back. By comparison, the boy next to her looked positively plain- he wore a simple T-shirt and slacks, and a beanie over his shaggy dark green hair. Several Poke Balls lay on his belt, while, on the girl, they peeked out from the custom-made purse she was holding. "Alright!" The announcer said. "This is the Semifinal Round of the S.S. Amelia Battle Tourney! For this round, it shall be a Double Battle- each Trainer shall only use one Pokemon, but they must use teamwork and join forces with their partner's Pokemon! There shall be no callbacks or switchouts- one Pokemon only. Every clear? Good. Alright, battle!!!!" The man shouted, and halfway across the room, the Pok Balls appeared in a flash; a Heracross landed on the boy's side, while a Misdreavus on the girl's. They stood (or, in Misdreavus's case, floated) in place, waiting warily for their opponents to step foot onto the battleground.
Naimo
Guardon made his way over, and stood on the edge. Melina grabbed her walking stick and got off him, thus letting him stomp forward and stand in front of his opponents. She was sure she could manage this battle without kneeling over; after all, her feet hadn't been that badly damaged. She leaned slightly on her, but felt capable of being able to stand up on her feet. "Yep, definately using Guardon," she said to Kori. She had half a mind to let Jordan out so that he could watch, but then she went against it. He tired easily after battles, he was probably asleep in his Pokeball right now. Master Red
Jesse took a look at the opponents of his two friends and then made his way over to the side of the field, actually managing to get a spot on the front road. "good luck you guys, I bet this'll be a good battle!" He called over to them before sitting down on the floor. He would never have done this if his outfit wasn't already ruined from when the Walrein had splashed water at them. For the moment being he was quite relieved that it had though, sure both his hair and his clothes were ruined but at least now he could sit down and not having to strain himself by holding the egg. He could simply keep it in his lap and be comfortable at the same time as keeping the egg safe and happy as well.
Premier Alexander Romanov
It was an epic battle. Ace has been unsure about the details of this "Rotation Battle", but it proved to be rather interesting, the two swapping their Pokemon out like no tomorrow. Eventually, though, Jet had proved to be stronger than Bubbles, the Surskit going down within a few attacks. However, Daniel countered with Chu, who ensnared the Buizel in her ElecNet and shocked him into submission, leaving the Trainers' ace Pokemon standing. Volpecula weaved and dodged Chu's String Shots, Spider Webs, and ElecNets as best as she could, but the slippery deck did not help her evasion. But that same deck was Chu's own demise, causing the soaked electric spider to be hurt by her own electrical attacks whenever she fired them. But Ace got clever, and used the rubber-lined bottom of a cleaning bucket as shelter from a very powerful ElecNet, making the Joltik shock herself. Daniel gently placed his worn-out Pokemon in their Pokeballs, then went over to Ace and an equally tired Volpecula, at which point he held out his hand. Quiksilver
Nathan, having spent a couple of minutes talking with the Nurse about his hurt Pokemon, only arrived in time to see the last couple minutes of the battle. However, he managed to get in a few cheers (for both sides) and by the time the battle had finished, Nathan had found that he was quite enjoying himself. As Daniel recalled his last Pokemon and was approaching Ace, Nathan had already strode over and was grinning besides the pair. "That was awesome!" He crowed. "I can't wait to battle one of you guys soon. Though, not too soon I guess..." Nathan said, his mood fading. "My Pokemon are being healed up by the onboard Nurse- speaking of which, you guys should do the same. The Nurse told me that we would be landing soon, and we want our Pokemon to be healthy and strong by the time that happens, eh?"
Sweetie Belle
Kusajin had been chased onto the outer deck by most of the patrons of the cruiser. The ship was fairly luxury to him, and he and his Pokemon had gotten into a bit of trouble, mostly with women. Breathing in the salty scent of seawater, he looked down in the water and noticed a strange presence. It was dark, and huge. There was a pattern that glowed red, and it seemed to pulsate. The large Pokemon surface, and even Kusajin could recognise it. "It's... It's... It's Kyogre! But.." He continued to stutter in awe. Then at length, Glut appeared by his side with an odd ball on the end of its tongue. The ball was appeared to be a Master Ball. Kusajin picked it up, and immediately tossed it towards the Legendary Water Pokemon. The ball sailed through the air, and it seemed like it would never reach the water. Kusajin and the Pokemon watched in suspense, until at length, the ball made contact... with a red fish. A Magikarp had jumped out of the water, and inadvertently intercepted the ball and Kyogre. The ball immediately returned to Kusajin's hand, and Kyogre dove deep under the water. "Arrrgh! Stupid Magikarp!" He opened the ball, and the Magikarp appeared in a blue flash of light (This is not a reference to Best Wishes. In the Sinnoh anime, a Pokemon coming out in blue signified being released.). The Master Ball fell apart after the fish came out. Magikarp flopped on the deck, oblivious to Kusajin. "I wasted a valuable Pokeball on YOU!" Angrily, Kusajin kicked the Pokemon. It sailed far out to sea, flailing stupidly along the way. About mid flight, however, it began to glow...
Pichu
Austin walked the decks of the ship with his two Pokemon. There was screams from the other side of the ship. Austin dashed over there, tripping over a table. "Damn it!" Austin yelled getting back to his feet. His Pokemon, Pichu and Shiny Eevee ran up to Austin. Austin motioned them to continue on. They did so. Austin followed them to see Kusajin with three things. Kyogre, a Master Ball, and a Magikarp. The Kyogre fled as Kusajin caught the Magikarp. "Why would you waste your time catching the Magikarp when Kyogre was in the water!?" Austin yelled at him. The Magikarp was released and the Master Ball fall apart in Kusajin's hand. Then the fish Pokemon started to glow. Austin's eyes widened. "Holy Pokeballs!" he yelled grabbing Pichu and Eevee. He ran away to the safety of under a random table. Magnet Soldier
"Okay. Deino's up for me aswell. Well then, let's start." Kori said, walking up to the darkened area. "Deino, you're up." Kori said. Deino nodded, sighing, and walked towards the battle field, standing proudly next to Guardon. "Be careful Deino. Both Heracross' types are super effective against you, so try to avoid battle with him. Instead, focus on Midreavus, Okay?" Kori said. Deino nodded in acknowledgement and turned to Guardon, just as Kori turned to Melina. "Thing you can deal with Heracross while I deal with Misdreavus?" Kori asked, while Deino nodded once at Guardon before turning to glare at Misdreavius, mustering power around it's body, activating it's inborn skill, Hustle. Spartan919
Ace nodded to Daniel and Nathan. "That was a great battle, Daniel. I can't believe I was actually able to beat your Pokemon. They were a lot tougher than they looked!" His eyes shined while he spoke, betraying only happiness and friendship. He glanced at Nathan. "Don't worry. I'm sure your Pokemon will all be better soon. In the mean time," he said, looking down at his two Pokemon, "I probably should take them to the nurse. Daniel's Pokemon banged them up pretty badly." He pulled out his two Pokeballs, and recalled Jet and Volpecula to their respective balls. "You wanna join me?" he asked Daniel.
Sweetie Belle
Kusajin happily watched as the fish sailed through the air. "So long, Magikarp!" The Magikarp flailed wildly as it flew out to sea, and then began to glow. It hit the water and sank under. Kusajin turned around and sighed. "I never want to see another Magikarp until the end of this boat ride. What about you, Glut? Ready to go back in?" Instead of nodding, Glut frantically pointed over the deck. Kusajin looked in that direction and saw nothing. "Glut, I don't see anything. Maybe you just need some time to rest." He pulled out the Pokeball and recalled the Lickitung in a flash of red light. All of a sudden, a bright flash of white light burst from the surface of the water. "What the.. !" Kusajin watched in awe and panic as a giant blue, serpent-like figure rose from the water. It looked angry. "Wait, that's my Magikarp! It evolved!" Not taking into account that he released it, he began calling to it. "Gyarados! I am your master!" The Gyarados, however, knew wiser. Angrily, it widened its mouth more that it already was, and began to charge up a Hyper Beam...
Quiksilver
Maybe it was because he was inexperienced. Maybe because he wasn't used to attacking, or at least not in this form. In any case, the Hyper Beam Gyarados had learned in the last two seconds missed Kusajin (and the boat), sailing cleanly over the deck, though it did create a large noise- and this caused what might have been the same amount of damage if the Beam had hit, due to all the people jumping in surprise, falling off their chairs, and generally creating a chaotic environment. The boat crew, who had been trying to get to the Gyarados as soon as it had evolved, had found their way blocked by anger and shocked passengers, who flooded around them and got in their way. Nathan had for his part, had been happily saying, to Ace and Daniel, "I hope my Pokemon are fixed by now, though" when he heard the boom, and after leaping in the air (and hitting a passing woman, sending her flying into the pool, though that's beside the point), looked at the other two Trainers and said, with wide eyes, "What was that? Let's go look!" Since Nathan was only about fourteen and had not found out yet that running towards sounds of destruction and chaos were not the best idea, he promply began racing towards the scene of the incident. He made it there just as Gyarados began recovering from it's attack, his eyes immediately seizing on the monstrous Pokemon in front of him. "Oh no..." he said, horrified. Then, Nathan spotted Kusajin in front of the big beast, and putting two and two together, groaned, "Oh, great, it's Scolipede all over again!" *** The boy proved faster of the two; shouting in a husky voice, he commanded, "Heracross, use Horn Attack on the Deino, now!" It became apparent the Trainer knew of the type advantage Heracross had over Deino, the large Bug Pokemon immediately raced for the smaller Dragon Pokemon, it's sharp X-shaped horn pointed straight towards it's target. Misdreavus's trainer, while a bit slower, was no less vicious. "Missy!" The girl said what was clearly her nickname for Pokemon, "Shadow Ball at the Rhyhorn!" A small ball of dark energy formed in front of the Misdreavus, who, with a creepy crackle, sent it spiraling at Guardon.
Spartan919
Ace ran over, following Nathan to the source of the noise. When he saw Kusajin, he grinned, for he was not as worried as Nathan. He was of a much cheerier attitude, and looked forward to another adventure. Once he saw the Gyarados, he skidded to a stop. The Pokemon was big! Ace gulped. He wondered if he'd even be able to scratch it, but there was only one way he was going to find out. He glanced down at his Pokemon, who had followed him. They were battered, and one was unconscious, but he knew they could do it. If only Jet was still conscious, he could have a water battle with it. As it was, Ace supposed their best hope would be Daniel's Chu, as Electric-types are super-effective against Water-types.
Magnet Soldier
((Rhyhorn.)) Kori had expected the Heracross to come for Deino. The type advantages were just too numerous. However, it seemed the trainer wasn't as experienced as he seemed, as he'd used a move that had neither of the types that were Super effective on Deino. Aswell as the fact Deino was used to this, created a perfect situation. "Deino, jump and use Headbutt." Kori ordered. Deino obeyed instantly, jumping high above Heracross and then Diving back down towards the Heracross at high speeds, and colliding with the Heracross hard. As Deino landed again, she was instantly prepared for another attack. "Now, Dragon rage!" Kori cried. Deino obeyed again, charging up a large amount of bluish fire in it's mouth, ready to be shot at the Heracross.
Naimo
"Hmm - oh, Guardon, dodge it!" Guardon was fast to react, and had he been a little less bulkier, the Shadow Ball probably wouldn't have smacked him on his hind legs. Of course, an advantage of being so well armoured was that such moves couldn't deal too much of a lasting effect, and he was speedy to retaliate. "Guardon, attack with Horn Attack!" In the back of Melina's mind, she was panicking - what effect did Ground/Rock Pokemon have on Ghost-types? She had never really encountered them, and even when she had, they had been very peaceful encounters.
Quiksilver
Damn, I messed up with that post! Oh well- fixed. Also, Magnet, as I told GreyCat, could you not say stuff like it "it hit the other Pokemon" because, technically, that is powerplaying or metagaming, whichever one it is? Thanks.
As the Heracross neared, it became apparent the Horn Attack was simply a feint; Though it took a Headbutt as it did so, the trick immediately gave Heracross an advantage that excused the mild damage the Bug Pokemon took; now, Heracross was now close enough to break out a attack that could fatally hurt Deino. "Venoshock, let's go!" Venoshock; a fairly recently discovered move, it was a Poison-type TM from Unova that had apparently been taught to this Heracross. Opening it's mouth fairly wide, Heracross spewed a poisonous purple liquid into the air and at Deino! Misdreavus, on the other hand, did not move when Guardon drew near; while Ground/Rock could have an effect on the Ghost Pokemon, Horn Attack, being a Normal-type move, did not. Missy's Trainer smirked as Guardon's horn cut through her Pokemon, seemingly not harming her Pokemon one bit. Then, still keeping her infuriating smirk on her face, said, "Missy, use Psywave!" The Misdreavus turned to look at Guardon, and a wave of psychic energy was sent rocketing towards the larger Rock Pokemon.
Naimo
Melina cried out as Guardon was tossed some distance in the air, and landed with a crash. She knew that he was effectively powerless against the Misdrevaus, and then did something she had never expected to do. "Guardon, change targets! Use stomp on Heracross!" At the moment, that seemed to be the most logical thing to do - Deino would probably have more of an effect on Misdreavus than Guardon, and if that was to happen, then Heracross had to be finished first. Not to mention he wasn't a Ghost-type, he could take all the physical attacks that Guardon had to offer.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Daniel ran back up onto the deck, Chu all well-rested and ready to fight. He saw the Gyarados and grinned. "Gyarados. Number One Hundred And Thirty in the National Pokedex. The Atrocious Pokemon. Water and Flying, meaning it has a quadruple weakness to Electric attacks." He saw all of the dampened string left over from the fight, and got an idea. "Chu, start weaving as much of that webbing into a big net using String Shot and Spider Web!" Chu complied, jumping off of Daniel's head and heading to the center of the mass of string, patching it up. He then called out to the other Trainers. "Guys! I have a plan! First, we need to distract the Gyarados for a few more minutes! Then, once my Joltik has fixed this web, we can throw it at the Gyarados like a net! She will then use a massive version of ElecNet, stunning the Gyarados for a few seconds, allowing whoever owns this thing to re-capture it! Also, any other Electric Pokemon would help to add strength to the ElecNet attack!"
GreyCat
Duke had just retrieved his two wayward pokemon from the nurse (and given each a quick session of tough love) and was climbing back on deck when he heard Nathan cry out. Sure enough, a gyarados was throwing a fit just off from the boat. He stared at it. It looked as if someone had mistreated it, causing the classic, if terrifying, raging Gyarados scenario. For the love if Rayquaza! "Some one in this group is attracting trouble," he muttered. Daniel's plan was a good one, and they best possible thing to do at the moment. He glanced -glared- at his two cats and they scampered off to the railed, paused, and looked back at him with wide eyes. Right. Water. Swimming. Against Gyarados. No. "All I can do it zap it with a little spark!" Duke called over to Daniel. Spark was the only ranged attack his pokemon had. And it wasn't as strong as when Kit rammed the target. But it was all he had. "Kit, Thunderwave! Alice, see if you can charm it to buy time!" Kit launched a thin line of electricity at the beast. As he did, Alice climbed onto the railed and cried out cutely at the gyarados.
Pichu
Austin crawled out from under the table. "Watch out guys! This thing is strong!" Austin yelled. He looked down. "It's Scolipede all over again." he said to himself. "Wait...." Austin said. He pulled out his PokeDex and pointed at Gyarados. It spoke: "Gyarados. This Pokémon has a vicious temperament, so use extreme caution. Its fangs can crush stones and its scales are harder than steel." said the PokeDex. Austin put it away. "Damn it." Austin cried. He looked at Pichu and smiled. "Guys! Pichu is an electric type! He has the advandage over Gyarados." Austin yelled. "Pichu! Use Volt Tackle!" Austin ordered. Pichu jumped up at Gyarados and attacked.
Sweetie Belle
(OOC: If you don't mind, I'll control Gyarados) Gyarados saw the tiny Pichu jumping towards it. It moved to the right somewhat, and let the Pichu fly past it. It brought its tail up rapidly. The fin on the end of its tail brought a massive amount of water up with it, and all of it fell onto the deck of the boat. Most of the objects that were on the deck shifted, and the floor became unbelievably slippery. Kusajin, however, was not found on the deck. He somehow managed to get knocked off, and was clinging to the railing. Better tried to help him, but only made his hands more slippery. Kusajin slipped and fell, only to land on the Gyarados's fin. "Hah, I knew you'd save me." Instead of acknowledging, however, Gyarados began to charge up another Hyper Beam. It had begun to fire, when a somewhat large shadow jumped from the deck of the ship. "LICKIIIIII!!!!" Glut jumped from the deck, and full-on slammed into Gyarados, using all its weight, and causing the Hyper Beam to disperse. Angered, the Gyarados flung both Glut and Kusajin over its head, and into the water. Kusajin clung to Glut, as it could swim, and Kusajin couldn't.
