((Mew...why'dya contradict meh comment? I said twas sunny.))

Kori sighed, looking down at the Harbor in a very 'I cannot be bothered, so leave me alone' way. However, that changed when, now with his eye's wide and his mouth open comically, realised that the Boat must have been travelling fast, as it was already at the docks, and allowing people to board. Also noticing it was starting to rain, he groaned, as it meant that they'd look stupid as they boarded the boat. However, at the moment the most important thing was reaching the boat, so Kori grabbed Melina's hand and almost dragged her down the hill towards the docks, leaving her outside the Pokémart as he dived inside, and bought two tickets before the clerk could realise what was going on, and dived back out, dragging Melina onto the Boat just as it left. "Well...that...was close." Kori panted, holding his knees before they buckled under him. He hadn't ran like that for ages, and realised he really needed to get in shape. "You Okay?" Kori said, turning to Melina, noticing Jesse, the Lab assistant of Proffessor Ivy, and a guy that may have been on the expedition to find Jesse, though he didn't actually know.

Melina cried out as she was forcefully dragged onto the ship; luckily, Guardon and Bulbasaur had their wits about them, and they had rushed on in time too. Melina said nothing as she flung herself loose from Kori's grasp, and then sat down on the back of Guardon. "Yes, I'm OK, although next time, do be more gentle." She felt pins and needles in her legs - oh great, that was more time with the walking stick now. Bulbasaur suddenly leapt into her lap, and she resumed to caress him between the ears. "How long is it until we reach Pummelo?"

Kori slumped down onto a nearby chair and sighed. "I dont know. A few hours, maybe more." Kori shrugged. "And sorry about that. I didn't mean to hurt you if I did." Kori apologized, making sure Melina was Okay. "But the next ferry was in...." Kori checked his ticket, looking to see if they had the times for the next ferry. "....in three hours." He finished. "So we made it just in time." Kori stood up again, aware of Deino spinning around dizzily on the deck, and realised that he'd forgotten about his Pokémon and left Deino dangling on his leg. Squirtle he had forgotten altogether, but when he ran towards the edge of the deck he noticed Squirtle swimming calmly alongside the boat, before using a Water gun to blast itself off from the surface of the water onto the ship. He glared for a moment at Kori, before lying down and dropping off into a nap. "Sorry about that you two." Kori said to his pokémon. "We needed to rush though." He looked up a Melina. "Guess I'm annoying a lot of people today. Sorry again."

Jesse sat with his eyes closed, something he had a habit of doing when travelling. "We're not waiting, we're travelling" he answered Josh, opening one eye to look at him as he spoke and then closed it again. It was a really great way to relax, something he had found out when having to ride the school bus to and from school before he had graduated.

He felt a raindrop hit his nose and frowned a bit and crinkled his nose. He wouldn't be relaxed if it was raining so he gace up on that completely while starting to dig through his bag for his umbrella. He was lucky he'd remembered to bring one, otherwise he would probably be soaked by the time they'd reach pummelo. After opening his umbrella he decided to let Fernando out, who seemed very confused about his current locatin. he looked around a lot and the stared at Jesse with a questionable look.

Jesse smiled down at his Creamoo and knelt down so he was at eye level with him. "We're going on a little adventure buddy" he said, poking Fernando on his mule. Fernando looked a bit worried, but when Jesse smiled reassuringly he perked up. Going on an adventure would perhaps not be too scary.

Melina chuckled. "I can't blame you; I wouldn't want to linger for three hours." She coughed, and then stood up; as she did so, Bulbasaur gently slid down her legs and landed without so much as a scratch. "So, anyway, I suppose we should go and talk to people; you never know, there's always strength in numbers." She ended on a very sanguine note, and then gently nudged Guardon. He began to walk at a crawling speed; Melina was keeping a look out for anyone who seemed approachable. She looked over her shoulder, and said to Kori, "So ... who do you reckon we should approach?"

"Jesse, open your eyes. It's something in the water..." Josh's eyes turned wide open when a giant whale-like pokémon rised from the sea. According to Josh's knowledge, it was a Wailord. It was a beautiful sight. Everyone at the boat looked at it. It was on the surface in almost 2 minutes to get air, then it disappeared in the water as epic as it appeared. "That was huge!" Josh was highly amused by the Wailord, and had taken several pics of it with his mPhone and uploaded them to nosebook.com.

Kori looked over at Jesse, and motioned for Melina to follow. "It's Proffesor Ivy's assistant. You know, the one we were supposed to save, but us two let everyone else do it while we were busy." Kori said, realising how wrong the 'we were busy' part sounded. "Anyway, why dont we say...." Kori paused, as at that precise moment, a Large, blue, whale-like Pokémon emerged from the water, drenching the already soaked passengers of the SS _____. Kori shooked the excess water off of him as the Wailord swam away, obviously Showing off infront of all the small pokémon. To be honest, Kori couldn't blame it. It was the Biggest species of Pokémon ever recorded, bigger even than any Legendaries. It dwarfed the ferry, and made Kori suddenly feel very, very small. "Where was I?" Kori wondered aloud, as the Wailord Disappeared under the surface of the water. "Oh yes! Melina, that's Jesse, the Proffesor's assistant. He could join us." Kori said, walking up to Jesse. "Hi. I'm Kori. You know, the guy who was attacked by the Venipede's, while you lot were attacking the Scolipede. This is Melina, the Girl who's, erm, scared of Electric pokémon." He quietened at the last bit, so as not to embarrass Melina, while introducing himself again, and moving aside to let Melina introduce herself properly....again.

Melina rolled her eyes. "It's not just scared, it's a proper phobia; Kori's seen me panic, my mind becomes a flailing Magikarp on land, or on someone's dinner plate. But anyway, as long as you don't have any Electric Pokemon, or indeed plan to capture any, then I will be fine." Guardon finished the sentence with a timely warning growl, and even Bulbasaur was making an effort to look mean. Of course, Melina wasn't aiming to be intimidating, because she then smiled pleasantly and added, "I'm Melina Swift by the way, nice to meet you." She offered her hand, and Guardon looked pointedly at Jesse.

Jesse let out a small eep as the wailord went back under water, splashing water up on the boat as it did. "So much for the Umbrella" Jesse muttered, as he got to his feet, starting to squeeze the water out of his shirt when Kori and Melina approached him. Fernando had squealed as it suddenly had been drenched in water and was shaking violently. jesse didnät pay much attention to him though, it was just water, he was okay.

"Oh, yeah I remember you guys" Jesse said as he squeezed more water out of his shirt, his voice was a bit strained as he was quite annyed by the water that had not only soaked his clothes but also destroyed his hair. "So you're heading to Pummelo as well I see" He said, controlling the level of his voice with more ease now.

"I'm Jesse McHeartney" He said, accepting the hand shake. "And don't you worry, I don't really have any plans to what I'm going to catch. But if you're inviting me to travel with you I'll restrain myself from catching an electric pokémon" He added, smiling reassuringly towards Melina. "Unless what's in that egg happens to be an electric type, in that case I can't help it" he added, as he realized there could be a chance of an electric type hatching from it

Red, please remember to post periods after your character talks. (I.e. its not "Hello there, how are you doing" but rather "Hello there, how are you doing?"
"Seems like you just made a nice catch there, pal," A voice said from some ways behind Alexander. If he turned around, Alexander would have been treated to the view of a tanned, raven-haired girl coming his way, with a smaller, black and red-colored fox-like Pokemon in her arms. She was about Alexander's age, and was dressed in a white blouse, tan trousers, and hiking boots, the outfit completed by a fannypack tied around the right side of her waist. One did not have to see the Poke Balls poking out of the fannypack to tell this girl was a Trainer.

"Hiya," The girl said, and at the same time she removed one hand from underneath her Zorua to comb back her shoulder-length black hair, revealing startling green eyes. "I'm Katie. That was a pretty nice capture you made there."

***

There was a sudden gust of wind and suddenly, as soon as the Wailord had disappeared, the sky seemed to get stormy. Consequently, the sea got rougher, and quickly Melina, Jesse, Kori, and Josh felt the boat began to rock beneath their feet. It took only a few seconds before a older man, dressed in livery befitting that of a shipworker, to approach them and say in a deep voice, "Sirs and madam, we are experiencing some issues with the weather, and so it would be prudent for all guest to step inside. Follow me, please..." So saying, the man ushered the group of Trainers off the ship's deck and into the main cabin.

Rather spacious and high-domed, the cabin was painted a light color and was clearly supposed to set the passengers at ease- most of the room's carpeted floor was set up with large couches and chairs placed together in strategic sitting areas, while a skylight above let gentle light in. That is, that was it's purpose- for now, rain danced across the skylight's glass surface. Most of the guests had been relegated into this area, but for some reason, most were gathered around the middle of the room, in which there were no chairs- however, after a moment, and after hearing some strange noises and seeing strange gleams of light come from this area, it became apparent a Pokemon battle was going on here.

The worker seemed to notice this and began to explain. "When we must confine guests to the indoors of the ship, we often allow Pokemon battles to go on to entertain them. You could participate in one if you are inclined in such a way; I hear that the grand winner wins a cash prize. Well, excuse me, madam and sirs, I must get going. Have a good day aboard the S.S. Amelia..." The worker promptly retreated, leaving the Trainers alone to contemplate whether or not they wanted to join in the Pokemon battles.

Nathan thought about it for a second, then replied, "That sounds pleasant- I've always wanted to hit the Grapefruit Islands, I've heard they make good...grapefruit...and Shamouti Island always has some awesome festivals on, and to round it off, going to a couple of gyms- that isn't too shabby either. All in all, I like this path- would you mind if I came with you, Daniel? Grapefruit is always better when you have someone to share it with..." Nathan was nearly bouncing up and down with excitement- he couldn't wait to go to Kumquat Island (It hadn't passed through his mind that there was a chance Daniel would refuse his offer.).

Austin watched the boat to Pummelo leave. He heard Nathan. "Kumquat Island is good too, I guess." Austin said. Then an Onix flew up from the ground. "An Onix! I've never seen one in real life! I must catch it!" Austin said. "[s]I now summon my Eevee in Defense Mode![/s] Go Eevee!" Eevee came out. "Use tackle!" Eevee tackled and Onix attacked. Eevee attacked again until Onix was weak. "Go Pokeball!" The Onix was caught was ease. "Yeah! I got an Onix!"

Alexander was know tired from all his activity today. He was happy though. Air-Friend was his. And soon he would be able to study it. And then become famous. He smiled, walking into town, not knowing where he was going. He thought he was headed to the pokemon center when, he bumped into someone. That person said, "Ah!" as he looked down at the pokeballs on Alexander's belt. "I bet you are a trainer. Well then, I have a prize for you-" Alexander tried to interrupt, but this man continued, "-I would bet you are here for the gym. "No sir" Alexander said. "Don't lie to me, young man. I can see that you want to. Here is a ticket. You need these to get in, and there are no more available until two days from now. This one is for tomorrow. I got this because I was handing them out to trainers on the street as prizes."

Alexander couldn't anything. He hadn't wanted to duel any gym leaders. He hadn't even known there was a gym on this island. What would he do? This was good anytime tomorrow. He just wasn't sure as he walked to the pokemon center.

Ace nodded; he really didn't know much about the Orange Islands, but Kumquat Island sounded as good as any others. Besides, there were sure to be Pokemon there. What place didn't have Pokemon? He brushed his fingers against his pocket, touching the empty PokeBalls there. I'll catch something...I know I will. He looked eagerly at Daniel. "It sounds like we should head to Kumquat," he said, "and I don't really know these islands, so...that sounds about as good as any of the other islands to me." Volpecula, who was still sitting on his head, shouted her agreement: "Eevee Ee!" Ace laughed, glad that she had supported him, and wondered for a brief moment where he would be without his Pokemon friend.

I'm sorry Lux, I'll try to remember that. i think I did it right this time at least :)

Seriously Pichu? An Onix randomly just bursts out of the ground and your Eevee manages to take it down with tackles? Tackles barely scratches Onix health at all normally and considering it's such a small pokémon like Eevee doing the tackling I find it very unbelievable that it would ever have a chance of taking that Onix down on its own. Unless it's at an insanely high level.

Of course Lux is the one calling the shots around here but I'm just throwing my 2 cents in here because I think it's rediculous.

Jesse had barely been able to gather his things before the man had ushered them inside the boat. He didn't really protest to getting inside as the weather outside was getting worse, but he had barely been able to explain to the man that he had to fetch his egg and bag before going inside.

He could hear the rain falling hard outside, the sound being enforced a bit further as the drops of water hit the skylight. The skylight was probably a nice detail providing a cozyness when the weather was fine, but during this rainfall Jesse thought it seemed a bit ominous.

He noticed that there seemed to be a battle going on in the middle of the room, but before he had time to ask the sailor about it he explained that battles were allowed to entertain the passengers. "Surely, that can't be very safe." Jesse pondered, looking down at Fernando who had also noticed the battle. fernando backed away a bit, as if being afraid that he would unwantingly be pulled into the battle if he stood close by, and then sat down on the floor looking worried.

"Don't worry, we won't participate in the battle." Jesse reassured the frighetened creamoo and petting him atop his head to reassure him and calm him. It seemed to help the creamoo relax a little as it wasn't as tense any more and it perked up a little. "Are any of you guys going to participate in the battles?" Jesse then asked, straightening up again and looking at the others.

"I don't think so. I prefer watching before acting. The other trainers can be ridicously tough. So, no, I'm not gonna battle until I'm sure I'm gonna beat them, and maby humiliate them too." A lot of pepole stared weird at Josh. "Okay, okay... It was just a joke, I don't want to humiliate someone..." The stares disappeared, and Josh felt safe again. Josh looked a bit at the battle, even cheering a bit. He came to the conclusion that the trainers where too strong for him, and he ignored the toughts about starting a battle. He started to get bored, but it was still raining outside, so he just sat and observed everything, hoping that he would catch up something interesting.

Kori looked at the battles, and also noticed that there were a lot of strong trainers. However, he also noticed some nervous and weak looking ones walking up to the centre, and his ears had picked up on the cash prize, which he sure could do with. "I'll go enter. It's bound to get a bit boring in here anyway, and Squirtle hasn't had a battle yet." Kori explained. Squirtle, picking up on this, groaned slightly and stood up slowly. He was ready for a battle, but felt it was too much of a Harrassment. "Come on Squirtle. You and Deino can deal with these punks, right?" At this Deino grinned and jumped up and down, nearly knocking over another trainer, and landing on squirtle. Kori managed to get Deino off of Squirtle, eventually, while ignoring the other trainer shouting at him. However, Kori wasn't deaf, and did hear the man challenge him. "So, you want to be my first Challenge?" Kori said, looking up. The man grinned widely, grabbing a Blue Pokéball from his waist, a Great ball. "Sure, I'll battle you. Go, Torkoal!" The man shouted, throwing the great ball into the air. Kori groaned as a lot of eye's turned to him, and noticed he was surrounded, and blocked off from returning to Jesse, Melina and Josh. "Squirtle?" Kori said, not needing to say anything else. Squirtle stepped forwards and took it's stance, ready for anything Torkoal could throw at him. "One on One. Torkoal's my only Pokémon." The man said. Kori nodded, and motioned for Deino to step back. She rolled her eye's at this, and glared at Squirtle for a moment, before backing down and resting her head on her front paws as she layed down on the ground. "Let's go squirtle." Kori said, softly. Squirtle smiled and locked eye's with Torkoal, ready to unleash his power.

Melina wandered away to find someone else. This would be a good opportunity to bond between her and Bulbasaur - he was, after all, going to have to protect her from Electric Pokemon, and she couldn't have a weak Pokemon on her team. She espied another trainer with a Glameow on his shoulder, and said to him warmly, "Fancy a battle? I've got a Bulbasaur that needs training." Fortunately, the other trainer was willing to, and after a handshake, they stood opposite each other. Bulbasaur was clearly raring to go, and so was Glameow. Melina could hardly feel nervous - this would be the first time she would fight using Bulbasaur, now was a good chance to bond further with him.

Jesse wished Kori good luck with his battle. He would've checked it out if the crowd hadn't closed in on Kori and his opponent so quickly and he couldn't really be bothered to squeeze through the crowd in order to try to get a look at what was going on. He sighed and sat down on one of the vacant chairs, looking quite bored. Fernando had calmed down quite a bit now but still didn't feel comfortable with sprowling around in the room so he ran after Jesse, and sat down near him, resting his head in his trainer's lap.

Jesse smiled down at Fernando and petted him a little, much to the creamoo's pleasure. Fernando closed his eye as he was being petted and smiled, enjoying the relaxing feeling of Jesse's hand massaging his head.

"Hey you, you have a pokémon out so I'll challenge you to a pokémon battle!" A young boy of probably fifteen exclaimed, pointing at his creamoo as if it was making a point. The boy had bright orange hair, freckles and was a bit chubby, wearing a plain black t-shirt and a pair if tan shorts.

Jesse just looked at him and cocked an eyebrow at the boy. "I'm not participating in the tournament, I don't want to battle." he stated calmly, still looking at the boy with a cocked eyebrow.

The boy frowned a bit and squinted, seeming very annoyed by Jesse's desicion to decline his challenge. "Fine, you probably suck anyways by the looks of that puny creamoo of yours." The boy stated, apparently deciding to mock Jesse for his lack of interest in battling.

Jesse just let out a sigh as he stood up and walked over to the trainer, looking completely calm and collected. He wouldn't get himself worked up by this kid's lame attempt to anger him and the kid probably thought he would have his challenge as he looked quite content as Jesse started to walk over. "Listen," he started, looking down at the boy who was a bit more than a head shorter than him, "I've already told you I'm not battling. Just accept that and go find someone else to challenge, it's just sad that you're trying to mock me into battling you." he said, keeping his voice leveled while still managing to with hold some kind of level of scolding or threat in it. "And besides," he continued, "My friend over there seems to be having a battle and I intend to cheer her on. Good luck with the tournament, with the way you're acting I think you'll need it." And with those words he started to walk over towards the area where Melina was starting her battle. The boy let out a small squeal of annoyance and yelled a profanity after Jesse, he didn't care though, it wasn't as if he was going to be bothered by something a rude arrogant and ill mannered boy said.

As Jesse walked off, Fernando was staying behind for a short while, being unsure of what had just happened. After a short while he decided to skip happily after his trainer, his bell chiming as he did so.

"Good luck with the battle Melina, I'll be routing for you." Jesse said as he came close and then sat down on a chair near the battle. Fernando looked worried and Jesse decided to let him back into his pokéball for now to avoid him being startled.

Josh saw the little boy that tried to start a battle with Jesse. Josh walked up to the boy. "Don't mess with my bro over there. Mess with me instead! I challenge you to a Pokémon battle!" Josh did'nt think it would be hard to win against a small kid. The kid was about 2/3 of Josh's lenght and talked childish, wich Josh did'nt like. They walked up to a plain place surrounded with wire, a Pokémon battle arena. "You gonna get your @$$ whipped, loser!" Josh tried to enrage the child, just for his own fun. He pulled one of his Poké Balls from his belt abd threw it out. "Psynon! Go! You're gonna lose."

Yeah. The ammount of adrealine in Josh's body before a battle makes Josh mean. Lulz.

The Trainer opposite Melina brushed the hair out of eyes and smiled. He was rather good-looking, with curly black hair falling to the back of his neck; and he was apparently from Sinnoh as well, if his light blue blazer proclaiming "SNOWPOINT WEAVILES" was anything to go by.

"Great! For a second there I thought I thought I wouldn't get a battle; everyone's already paired up or just watching. My name's Trevor, glad to meet you." The boy smiled again, then got down to business. "So, just a one-on-one battle between my Glameow and your Bulbasaur? Sounds good to me! So- let's begin!"

As one, Bulbasaur and Glameow tensed, ready to attack each other at a moments notice.

"Alright! Glameow, Fake Out, let's go!"

Suddenly gesturing forward violently in a attempt to make Bulbasaur jump, Glameow quickly changed direction and went for a pounce, her sharp claws descending on Bulbasaur's head.

***

Across the cabin, the small red-haired boy was nearly shaking with anger. How dare he be talked to in such a way! Without a second thought, he whipped out a Poke Ball and threw it forward, crying, "Go, Tangela!" Simultaneously, two red flashes occured, and on Josh's side, Psynon appeared, while on the boy's side a small blue shape appeared. At first all it seemed was a mass of blue vines, but then two small red feet popped out and bright little eyes appeared from a recess in the tentacles.

"You ready to go, mister??" The boy nearly shouted.

***

The trainer nodded his head in thanks as Kori called back Deino. Then, a second later, he barked out, "Smokescreen, now!" There was a great hiss and a rolling black fog lifted out of one of the holes on his back, quickly surrouding the two Trainers with a inpenetrable smoke that made it impossible to see where one was going. Kori and Squirtle could no longer see the other Trainer, and presumably it was the same way the other way around. However, apparently the Trainer had a method for dealing with this-

"Ember!"

There was another hiss and several dots of light appeared in the fog; they were spread out to the sides and if Squirtle tried to dodge them, he would have to move himself to the center- which seemed to be what the Trainer wanted, as he could then hit the Pokemon with a stronger attack. The only thing for Squirtle to do here was respond with a move of his own...

Daniel sighed. "Alright. You guys can come with me...except for you." He pointed at Kusajin. "Ever since we first met, you have made my life miserable. Your Grimer slimed my jeans and tried to attack me and my friends with no provocation, forcing me to break a promise I made to someone I dearly respect." He then thought for a moment. "However, I am willing to give you one final chance. Keep your Pokemon under control from now on. There are people who do NOT like to have incredibly smelly slime seep into their shoes, socks, and jeans."

Austin ran to the others. He looked worried. Eevee followed him. "Ummm.... Guys.... I don't know how to put this but.... the boat to Kumquat is leaving in one minute." Austin said to them. "We need to leave now if want to go! If you wanta stay here then don't move. If you want to come, follow me." he said. He ran to the harbor. He held up a Pokeball and Eevee was engulfed in a red aura and returned to his PokeBall. As Austin found the harbor, he tripped on a rock. "Damn it!" he said getting up.

Daniel decided that the argument could be settled later, and he grabbed both Nathan and Ace's arms, pulling them with him as he charged towards the departing ferry. "Why didn't you tell us that it was about to depart a few minutes ago?!? Why wait until now to mention this piece of information?!?" However, the kid tripped, causing the 20-year-old to groan as he started running for the ferry. "Here...we...go!!!" He jumped up, still pulling Nathan and Ace with him, trying to cross the gap and hoping he would make it.

Duke watched the ferry leave and waved for a while. With Melina gone, he let Kit out of his pokeball. Kit looked around, noting the changes to his environment and cried out happily. Then spotted Alice lounging on Duke's shoulders, he growled at her. Alice looked down at him, smirked then tilted her nose up and away from him, effectively snubbing him. He looked shocked. Duke smiled and picked up Kit, ignoring the hissing he and Alice exchanged.
"'I'm to travel to gyms and stuff," he mused out loud, "I'm going to need at least two more pokemon in my party." Alice made a swipe at Kit. "Hey, none of that now," he said, leaning away from the blow so he wouldn't get scratched. And he needed someone to get between these two rivals. He grinned at Daniel's little speech, but saw the sense in it. This was going to be an interesting journey.
He took off after them, dropping Kit and Alice to let them follow on their own feet. They reached before him, so he skipped Daniel's tactic and leapt unto the railing instead.

Alexander decided to go to the pokemon center and sleep. He would sleep on it and hope that tomorrow something would happen that would help him decide. If there really isn't any other time to duel the gym leader until tomorrow, he thought, but it trailed off. No matter what, he would always have Air-Friend. And he would find a way to achieve his dreams. He slumped into the pokemon center and fell down on the ground. Happy, but tired.
