Well, Nathan thought, this might be the biggest island I have ever seen in my life.

Hamlin Island stood proudly in Nathan's eyes, with large skyscraper-like buildings contrasting with tropical beach areas that, in some cases, stood side by side. Even from where Nathan was standing, on a small inlet, yet one still inhabited, several miles away from the mainland of Hamlin Island, he could still see the residents of the island- people and Pokemon alike- running (and flying and slithering, among others, for the latter) around for their various reasons, be it catching new Pokemon to simply selling their wares.

Nathan DeWitt smiled as he thought about the movements going on around him. With so much going on, the island almost seemed alive- which was no mean compliment, as it came from a boy who had lived in a city twice this size for his entire life. Suddenly there came a great pressure upon his shoulder and Nathan DeWitt found his body thrown to the side- in other words, he had been pushed.

Nathan looked up in annoyance as he got himself off the ground. The catalyst of this event seemed to have not noticed- the dark-haired boy was already gone, tearing up the ground as he struggled to cross the bridge connecting the inlet to Hamlin Island, accompanied by a multitude other boys and girls his age. They were all soon-to-be-trainers, just like Nathan, fresh from the boat that had just docked into the inlet. They had only just arrived, as could be seen by the fact Nathan was now lying across a rather large docking zone- Nathan had not bothered to move from place where he had debarked, unlike several of his other, more rowdy, boatmates. However, truth be told, Nathan could not blame the boy for knocking him over- he was simply enthusiastic about finally reaching the Orange Archipelago, and while Nathan had been busy admiring the island, the boy had decided to get into it- a respectable goal, even if he had been a little...hasty. And so, with this in mind, Nathan forced himself to not lace the boy with a half of dozen retorts. Even so, it was too much to think Nathan might not grumble to himself as he got off- which he did.

Finally, done with whispering malevolent threats under his breath, Nathan began to smile once more- he had finally reached his dream! After this pleasant thought, Nathan promptly began looking around for someone to talk to- because, having reached Hamlin Island, he had no idea what he was supposed to do next!

At the far end of the wood-and cement dock lay the boat Nathan had come off of, with several people still ambling off it. Some had assembled into small groups along the edge of the pier, and even though most of the people had already left the docking area to go to the city, there still were a far number of people still about. Only problem was, Nathan thought, which one would know what to do the most...
Well, it's finally started. Don't worry if you're trying to figure out what we're supposed to do just yet- just introduce yourself, get yourself into the RP. The objective will be revealed later. Also, because I don't want pages of two people going back and forth to appear, I must establish a rule- you are not to post again until 2-3 people have already posted. Got it? Good!
Aiden starts to walk off the boat. He looks over and sees a trainer pushed to the ground. Aiden started to walk towards this trainer who obviously did nothing to deserve being knocked down. Well it seems that some people just can't wait to start their new adventure in this region. As he was walking Aiden looked around at the other trainers who seemed to be in a hurry to leave the ship. He knew that somewhere in the future he will probably battle most of them. He then noticed he arrived at the trainer who was knocked down. "Hello trainer I see you have had a rocky start. I noticed you got knocked down, and I just wanted to check on you. “

Akio was on a boat as he looked in the distance and saw a giant island. "No way." He looked towards a person who didn't pay him much mind and sighed. Then he grabbed his beanie and flipped it inside out, revealing the "Fearless" logo. Well, here I go. Time to make some money and make some people proud, he thought as he looked towards a few trees, the terrain's not that out of the ordinary for an island. Akio pat Bishop's pokeball, for good luck. He checked a few of the trainers, some looked tough and some didn't. He then stepped off of the boat, heading towards the few trees he spotted. He had no idea where to go.

First thing's first, I have to find a group to join. I don't know what we're doing, but it's always better to be a part of a pack. Akio hated the idea so much, he quickly discarded it. No, I don't need anyone right now. But still... He looked up towards the sky.

Just then, something pushed into Akio, and he heard a splashing sound. Behind him was a man who looked to be in his late teens with spike brown hair, goggles, headphones, a T-Shirt, jeans, a backpack, and a fancy-looking cell phone that was now at the bottom of the nearby pond. The man was in shock, staring at the crystal-clear water with his jaw dangling from his skull. "My...my....my Borg phone!!!" He finally cried out in despair. "How am I going to be able to get any wireless connection now without its ability to create a wireless hostpot?!? I have to submit the V-Log videos every day, just like I promised, plus I have to check the site, respond to my e-mails, and make sure everything is running fine while I'm gone!!!"

Ace watched with an extremely excited look as the other people began rushing off the boat. He joined them, yelling his joy to the world as he rushed off the boat. He noted with shock the boy who was shoved down, and immediately grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back up to his feet. "Hi!" he shouted to the boy, a little too loud. Then, he heard a man yelling something about a phone, a "V-Log" (whatever that was), and other stuff. What's his problem? he thought. Shaking his head, he turned back to the boy who he had pulled up. Suddenly, there was a flashing light, and an Eevee appeared next to Ace. "Hey! What're you doing out here, Volpie?" His Eevee partner, whom he had nicknamed Volpecula, simply shouted out "Eevee!" and began bouncing in circle's around him. Ace couldn't help but laugh. "I guess you're excited too, aren't you?" He turned back to the boy again. "I'm Jared. Call me Ace. Who're you?"

Akio looked behind him and noticed someone who seemed to be depressed over a phone. Or at least...that's what it sounded like. "Is it water proof?" Akio walked into the pond and fished it out, then handed it to the kid. "If not...well, let's hope you've got a pokemon that can dry it out." Who would take an expensive phone onto this island? Akio only had a small cell phone on him, nothing that could...do...whatever it is the Borg phone did. He looked at the person, now in front of him, and offered his hand. "Akio Nyuhara, and you are?"

"Uhh, guys, thanks, I'm fine." Nathan, who had already gotten to his feet, held out his hands in an effort to ward off the two young gentlemen who had approached him to help. Embarrassed at being seen in such a way, Nathan attempted a winning smile and waved to the pair in way of greeting. "I'm Nathan DeWitt. Nice to meet you Ace...and you are?" Nathan looked at the dark-clad boy who had called him "trainer". His strange silver hair attracted Nathan's attention for a second, and then Nathan looked away; he had seen much stranger hair in his time. The other boy seemed to be dressed in an Eevee-themed outfit, but it still looked quite better than Nathan's outfit- dressed in a jersey and shorts, he suddenly felt self-conscious. "You guys are Trainers, like me, right?" Nathan kept his gaze focused on his newfound companions, even when he heard a loud cry call out from the boat several feet away from him.

Duke hastily stepped off the boat and shuffled over to the edge of the pier. Crouching, he hung his head over the edge and struggled to hold down his lunch. Stupid boat. Should be banned. He swallowed a bit of acid that welled in the back of his throat uncomfortably. He managed to splash a bit of water into his mouth to wash the taste away. Ready to face his adventure, he scrambled to his feet and tried to look over the crowd of people. No luck. Stupid tall people. He darted through the crowds and spotted a scuffle. They just got off the boat and someone got into trouble? Curious, Duke went over to look.

Austin sat at a TV phone in a Pokemon Center on Hamlin Island. His father was on the other line. Pichu was in Austin's lap. "So how's Hamlin Island?" Austin's dad asked. "Small compared to Mandarin South Island." Austin told his father. "I'm so glad you're talking again!" his father said. "Enjoy it while you can." Austin scoffed. Pichu gave Austin a confused look. Austin reached into his backpack and pulled out some PokeBlock. "Here." He handed the food to Pichu. Pichu smiled and nibbled on the blocks. "How was your boat ride?" his father asked. "It's was..... nice. Then I found out I get seasick." Austin flipping his ratted red hair. "You get that from your mother." Austin looked down. "Bye." He flipped the TV phone of before his father could say anything back. Austin stood up and put his backpack on. He looked around for Pichu. "Pichu?" Pichu popped his head out of the backpack and smiled. Austin left the center.

As Austin stepped out of the Pokemon Center, his cell phone started playing the song Love Like Woe. He pulled it out of his pocket and looked at the caller. Pichu popped his head back out of the backpack and looked at the phone. It said James. He answered: "What do you want stink face?"

The called ended with a fight. Austin hung up and blocked James's number. "That ass!" He looked at the people everywhere and started running. He ran right into Nathan. Austin backed away. "S-Sorry."

"Eh?" Nathan turned, and saw a depressed-looking young man steadily backing away from him. He seemed to have emerged from the Pokemon Center, one of the few other things on the inlet of Hamlin Island, and having tried to fight his way through the ground, had ran into Nathan.

Great, Nathan thought, Do I just attract bodily harm, or what?

"S-sorry," The guy said, but Nathan shook his head.

"It's fine!" Nathan replied. "Seriously. I've had worse- in fact, I was just knocked down a couple of minutes ago- as these two can tell you." Nathan gestured towards the other two in the small group Nathan seemed to be forming.

Ace smiled at Nathan, and began bouncing up and down. "Yeah, I'm a trainer. She's my Eevee, Volpecula," he added, pointing to his bouncing Eevee. With a twitch of her ears, his Eevee leaped up and landed on Ace's head. He overbalanced and fell over, laughing. Lifting the Pokemon off of himself, he jumped back up. Suddenly there was a bump; Ace spun around, and saw that a boy had just walked into Nathan. "Hiya there," he said, unfazed by the fact that Nathan had just been walked into. "I'm Ace." He spun around to face Nathan again. "Are you okay, Nathan?" His Eevee bounced up, and began sniffing at Nathan and walking all around him, making sure he was alright.

As Zero got of the ship, he saw 3 people, one who looked like a downer. He looked on his other side, and saw a super energetic looking boy. on his shoulder, an Eeve. "Wow, that's a rare pokemon." He said to himself, before looking to the next person. He was a cool looking person, so he walked up to him. "Hey. Do you guys want to be in a group? Mankeys and almost all pokemon travel in groups, so why don't we?" He needed a group, and these people looked like an interestig group.

"My name is Aiden Marx." Aiden said as he noticed the boy looked at his hair. "If you are wondering this is my natural hair color. I get it from my father's side, but to answer your question yes I am a trainer like you. I have come here to learn about the Pokemon in the area to help advance my knowledge which will help me to be a better Pokemon Professor." Aiden then noticed that there were three people in this little group. "Well I might as well ask it, but do you guys want to form a group as we search for the Pokemon. My foster family told me people normally have a better chance to avoid attacks by wild Pokemon if they are in groups.” Then, a boy came walked into Nathan. "Nathan you seem to be the punching bag already." Aiden said smiling.

"Hi." Austin gave the group a death stare. He turned to Nathan. "Worst. You have no idea. Trust me." A tear formed in Austin's eye.

Pichu hopped out of the backpack and hit the ground. "Picha!" Austin glared at Pichu and picked the creature up by it's head. "Get in the back pack." He put Pichu in the backpack. "I'm Austin. Austin Lee Black."

"Um, okay..." Nathan said, thrown off a bit by Austin's response. He let "Ace" help him up- again- although this time, at least, he had only been knocked to his knees. "I'm Nathan DeWitt. And this is Ace, and this is-" Nathan paused for a second while the silver-haired boy filled in his name. "-Aiden Marx, as we just heard. Nice to meet ya." Nathan gave Pichu a warm smile when he appeared, and a brief frown flickered across his face when he saw Austin force Pichu into a backpack. He then heard Aiden talk again, only hearing the last bit of it. Something about 'sticking together, as they stay as a group'.

"That's a good idea," Nathan replied. "But I think we'll have to wait until we reach the next island. Hamlin Island is mostly city, except for the plateau at the back, if I remember correctly. We could visit that and the forests around it though..." Nathan wondered. "Speaking of which, do any of you know what we're supposed to be doing right now?"
Kingofmuffins, it was the ocean around Hamlin Island that the phone fell into- not a pond. You'll need to change that. And Ghostmyth has already retrieved the phone, so...yeah. Anyways, let's just begin the general movement off of the docking area and into the city- we'll end up in a Pokemon Center, and then go to visit Professor Ivy, to get our Trainers license and stuff.
"Why would you want to avoid wild pokemon?" Duke cut in suddenly. His breeder upbringing was piqued by the comments Aiden made. "If you avoid them, how will you built your team? How will you gain the diversity that a trainer needs to do his best." He stopped as his tone became a scowl. Not good to get mad at strangers who could become friends. "Ah, sorry about that. I'm a breeder in training and kinda get caught up." He smiled sheepishly. "I'm Duke. Nice to meet you."

"Nathan, Ace, Aiden. Greetings." Pichu jumped back out of the backpack and walked over to Ace's Eevee. "Picha!" Pichu said with a welcoming smile. Austin looked at Pichu, then back to Nathan. "I lost his Pokeball back home on Mandarin South." He overheard Nathan talking about a group. Pichu was having fun playing with Ace's Eevee. "I'll join for my Pichu. He seems to like that Eevee of yours."

"I heard some trainers on the boat say that we should head over to Pokemon Center to sign up for our trainer cards. I just hope there isn't a line there already. Well I am going to head over there to get my gear you guys can come if you want." Aiden said as he started to walk off. He got off the dock onto the ground of the island. He stopped for a second to take a deep breath. "This is it the big time." He then started to walk in the direction of Pokemon Center. "I need to let Empress stretch her legs." He then pulled a Great Ball out from his belt. Aiden let his Charmander get some fresh air of this new island. "Empress come here girl." The Pokemon walked over to stand beside Aiden.

"Yeah, the guy has a point, Aiden- woah, were's he going?" Another boy had joined the group, and, quick as a flash, Aiden had disappeared too, leaving behind only a couple of words that took Nathan a couple of moments to process. "Really? Trainer cards at the Pokemon Center? Well, I guess we should get over there. It'll probably be Professor Ivy that gives them out- I heard she's the Professor of the Orange Islands." Nathan looked at the steadily retreating figure of Aiden, then back at his new friends. "Well, guys?" He asked. "Ready to go?"

Ace laughed as his Eevee began playing with Austin's Pichu. At the same time, he wondered why Austin didn't share the bubbly personality of his Pokemon. Deciding not to ask why, he turned to Aiden, and was about to respond, when he started walking away. Shrugging, he turned to Nathan. "A group would be a great idea! Then we could have all kinds of adventures together!" Turning back to Austin, he opened his mouth. "Hey...how'd you get your Pichu? It doesn't seem to have got its personality from you." While waiting for an answer, Ace shifted his weight back and forth, from one foot to the other. Suddenly, a thought connected in his mind. "Yeah! Let's go get our trainer licenses!" Spinning around, he jogged off after Aiden. Volpecula jumped after him, bouncing around and shouting "Eevee!", trying to make him go faster. When Ace caught up to Aiden, he asked, "Hey, how come you seem so..." He searched for the right word, but couldn't come up with one.

Though signing his card wasn't something he was keen to do, the prospect of getting to the a wild variety of pokemon and temperaments that result from different ways of raising put a smile on his face. He hurried to catch up with the group as they heading down to the center. On a whim, he let Kit out of his pokeball. The playful little shinx danced around his feet for a bit before hopping to playfully pounce at trainers feet. "Hey, Kit! Cool it!" he called out, not that the shinx would listen to him.

The man calmly took the phone, inspected it, frowned, his eyes twitching as a throbbing vein appeared on his forehead, and chucked the phone several hundred feet into the sea before turning back to the ignorant kid who gave him back his now-ruined phone. "Thanks a lot, you little twerp! That was an incredibly expensive phone that I got for my birthday! It had all sorts of personal material on it, and if you hadn't been looking up at the sky, you wouldn't have made me drop it!" Of course, Daniel neglected to mention that he hadn't been looking where he was going, but the kid didn't see that since he wasn't paying attention either.

Akio just sighed and walked past the person holding the phone. He wasn't going to bother with someone who obviously didn't want anything to do with him. He overheard a conversation about registering at the pokemon center, and decided he'd check it out. Who knows? Maybe there'd be someone with some information about this island. Akio had no idea what he was going up against. He wasn't afraid of the unknown, but it would be a smart decision to know what was about to happen in the future. He gave a sly smile, Well I guess the games are about to begin.

The man charged after Akio, infuriated. "Hey, twerp! I wasn't done talking to you! I want you to pay me back for breaking my cell phone!" He dramatically posed in front of Akio, blocking his way. "I am Daniel Andrews, also known as 'ThatGuyWithTheGoggles'! I am the founder and head administrator of ThatGuyWithTheGoggles.mon, the Pokemon World's most comprehensive source on Bug-catching information, a position that allows me to be called the 'Bug Fanatic'! I have been tasked by the Gym Leader of Castelia City, Arty, to capture a rare Pokemon in these islands! If I do, then he will declare me his disciple, allowing me the privilege of being next in line to become the Gym Leader of the largest city in the Pokemon World! And you are going to repay me for breaking my phone, or suffer the consequences!" For some reason, electricity seemed to be crackling around this man, making him seem super-serious.
