Asert333
hey i just didnt see a Zelda discussian thread anywhere else and thought that i could make one (plz tell me if im wrong) but i hope this becomes a good and active thread
Goodnight
You should probably start by adding any kind of relative information. Zelda games were good 10 years ago. Now Zelda and Mario games are thoughtlessly pumped out every few months to earn Nintendo millions of dollars because people still buy them for some reason. Is that a good enough start? Zelda games still retain okay to great storylines, gameplay, graphics, and music. I don't see what you mean by the word "Thoughtlessly" at all. Especially since games aren't pumped out "every few months". Majora's Mask still remains my favorite game. The atmosphere of that game was f***ing awesome. Brinolovania
I only have Phantom Hourglass...I love it. I wan to get Twilight Princess and Spirit Tracks also. Do most Zelda games have the large amounts of puzzles, like Hourglass? Because that's the thing I really like.
Kazooie
First things, Twilight Princess is not a bad game. Repetitive at times? Yes. Bad? No. At least the items weren't the same thing that we've seen in other games. It's probably my favorite because of the items... And this song. :3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qK-NkiCI4s
Goodnight
I've disliked all the Zelda games past Windwaker. Didn't really play Twilight Princess all that much though.
Saturn of Elemia
I've loved the Zelda games since I was a kid - and still do. (Looking forward to Skyward Sword). My favorite games in the series were Zelda 2 (NES), A Link to the Past (SNES), and Ocarina of Time (N64).
'tyleR
Why am I the only one that gives Majora's Mask any credit? It was the best storyline, atmosphere, and villain in the whole series, really. D:
Goodnight
Majora's Mask was great. Probably one of the best N64 games I remember playing.

I actually never owned the game itself so I bought it for the Virtual Console. Speaking of which, I still need to beat it. And IMO, all the Zelda games are good. (Except those CD-I ones of course.) (ALttP is my #1, but that's because it was my gateway to the series ) But I have to disagree with the villain. I still think Ganon's a bit cooler, even if he isn't a moon-walking, screeching psycho mask.

I still think Ganon's a bit cooler, even if he isn't a moon-walking, screeching psycho mask.
Ganon is cool, but he's an overused, now un-unique villain, and he's got the same purpose over and over again. Majora's Mask was something like the Joker. It had no real purpose. It meant to destroy everything, not to rule over the land, not to make people it's slaves, it just wanted to destroy. It wanted havoc, and chaos, and that's what made him so mysterious, intelligent, and cool. At least, imo. Haha
Kiyo
I know that part of Majora's creepiness is that s/he has no background at all, but IMO, it's a bit of a disadvantage. Ganon at least is (a little) more developed as a character.
Ice.
Ganon imo sucks. He's overused and barely gets any deep story. WW Ganon was the best Ganon hands down. I'd be pretty pissed if he was the villain of SS. I mean after TP where he just appeared and went "OH I'M THE MAIN VILLAIN DURR!" I kind of don't want him for a while.
Eh, from what we know right now, it seems like Ganon will be the villain. Although, I do agree with you on the whole TP thing. It was just so random. "Hey guys Imma be stabbed and become a god in another world, k?" That's pretty much how I viewed it. Zant should have been given the end boss title... At least till they had him throw his little hissy-fit. >.>
Phantom Roxas
I view Zant's little fit as how the Zelda wiki put it, and he simply began to fall into insanity. I did think that Zant was a great villain, but considering the timeline, I'm fine with Ganondorf showing up if we view Wind Waker and Twilight Princess as alternate paths on the timeline, in which case Ganondorf being in Twilight Princess served as a parallel to Ganondorf in Wind Waker, albeit we didn't learn about Twilight Princess Ganondorf until later. Could someone explain to me why Wind Waker Ganondorf is considered the best?

His backstory is actually explored instead of "OMG Ganon is the bad guy again". Majora's Mask has to be my favorite Zelda game. The atmosphere was just epic, and you always felt a sense of impending doom, which was marvelous.
kamrald
Zelda games, best described as action-adventure. There is much to examine the role, but a puzzle and puzzle solving also play a part right. It is a mix between action and puzzle that attracts so many people in Asia and Europe and the United States. Also contributed to the popularity of charismatic environment and atmosphere in both games and great music, which is used. The main character Link is an elf-like character, which in all games, is constantly trying to save Princess Zelda and / or looking for pieces of Triforce, in order to prevent the forces of evil taking over the world.
