Suzogamori Ren
I know there are some speculation about who actually won that duel. However, there were many things that coulda made the duel go both ways. Did joey win? or did yugi win and give the red-eyes back anyway? A couple of things suggest that joey actually won. Mainly that red-eyes appeared in his deck again in season 4. however from a practical stand point, yugi had all 3 of the egyptian gods in his deck, which in the show were nearly invincible. In the jap, joey said he wouldnt accept his red-eyes back until he became a "true dueler", according to the subs. What do you think guys?
evilfusion
That always bugged me. I think Yugi won, but I think it was a close game. Considering how few duels Yugi lost in the series, I don't think they had him lose. A true duelist isn't necessarily one that wins.
Vector Nightmare
Except when you're the main character. When you're the main character, you just win. I think Jonouchi won, but Yugi did not use the God monsters in his deck. He would never want to casually use them around, considering the disasters they caused all over the place. \Excalibur/
i think yugi won in a very close game and gave the red-eyes to joey anyway because Joey proved himself that he is a true duelist. i am disappointed that they didn't actually shown the duel. Sunshine Jesse
Joey wouldn't have accepted the card if he lost :S I think Joey won. He's pretty much canonically almost as good as Atem at the game.
The Holly and the Ivy
I have a strange feeling that somehow they drew.I think that Yugi was about to win and Joey knew it but he had a card that caused them both to loose the rest of their life points and ended the duel. Joey probably started off in the lead but a brilliant draw shot Yugi into the lead.
Eibon1307
Thats messed up... If Joey got the card, he had to have beat Yugi. And if he did, it makes you wonder. Did he beat Yugi by luck? or was it through skill? or did Yugi hold back or give up like when he dueled Rebecca? Just makes you wonder. I think if Yugi did surrender, Joey would have said to keep the card, so Either Yugi held back, or Joey beat him. They like to have those "We dont show the ending" duels. GX had one between Jaden and Yugi, but you can atleast infer from how the ending goes that he Yugi won... I wish they would have done something like that for Joey and Yugis rematch... DARKPLANT RISING
[s]Professor Cobra[/s] You know, I think it's more dramatic to have Jounouchi win the last time.
~British Soul~
i think Joey wanted to demonstrate to Yugi how far he had gone as a duelist, if Joey was satisfied with how far he'd gone, he would've accepted the card no matter the result that's my theory
Phantom Roxas
I think I read somewhere that Jonouchi was confirmed to have won from an outside source. Makes sense to me, despite it being a lazy escape to escape actually writing a duel.
So...five episodes of dueling Marik...and then you want another five episodes of these two dueling? I think it's reasonable to guess that Yugi had unlikely combo X in his hand, and decided not to finish the duel that turn because shut up, and Joeynouchi then won on his turn. Joey is about to take back his Red-Eyes when he suddenly realizes Yugi must have let him win. They go through some sort of stretched out bromance moment. Season 3 end. J-Max
Considering that Joey made it to the Semis of Battle City (Even giving Kaiba a run for his money in the Bronze playoff) Joey easily had a chance against Yugi. I doubt that Yugi would have used the 3 God Cards against Joey due to the fact that they would have easily crushed him but if we have Battle City FInal Joey against Battle City Final Yugi (Minus God Cards) I would say that Joey would have won but only just (A couple of Lucky Dice Rolls helped him to secure the victory)
