There are mysteries in this world. Were we sent here to solve these mysteries? See, another mystery. Some people consider humanity and life on Earth a mystery. They claim that life cannot be a coincidence, that something must have started the chain of evolution that resulted in humans.

This story may reveal the truth. It may also stay quiet about it. That depends on how you act to the events that will follow.

When humanity was young we fought with sticks and stones. We were waving our sticks and throwing our stones, building our homes out of sticks and stones and communicating with ununderstandable words. That all changed when [i]they[/i] arrived. They came from the stars wih gifts. Gifts of wisdom. From thereon humans evolved into the civilized race we are today. But do we all belong to that race?

Recently a number of people have discovered new potential in themselves. Superpowers. Not many have surfaced, but information has been leaked that you are one of them. That is why you're coming with me.

Bio: Shaz was raised in a slumdog area, after being stolen and taken hostage. She unkowingly used her powers, and everyone freaked out, and killed themselves. That is all known about Shazura's history.

Personality: She is very nice, despite her power. She goes out of her way to help other people, no matter what her circumstances are. When she is in the hospital, she is trying to help others break out, but she stays in.
Powers: She can control darkness. When that happens, her eyes turn red, and she is veiled in a dark purple aura. She can also read peoples aura.
Other things: She must stay in the shadow and out of the sun. If she is in the Sun for over 15 Min., she will be possesed by her dark spirit and start destroying everything in her path.the only way to stop her is to cover her eyes with something.

Approximate Age: 17
Gender: Male
Bio: Born in Japan originally, to two english parents, he lived in Tokyo for the first 5 years of his life. Then he moved to England, meeting the rest of his family, besides his uncle, Aunt and cousin, Shazura. To be honest, he never knew they existed. He was raised as a Middle class person, went to School like every other person, was popular, clever and cool, loved by nearly everyone. Even those who didn't like him didn't dare raise a finger against him, because he seemed to be able to move faster than Humanly possible, and could do 5 different types of martial arts from 6 years old. By the time he was 12 and in High School, he was incredibly popular, black belt in 6 different types of martial arts and was wanted by every girl in the school, even while being one of the most disliked types of Humans, an Emo. However, even now at 17, he has never had a girlfriend, the only person he's ever kissed dying a week later.
He was 14, and had had his first kiss, and was about to ask the girl out when his powers surfaced, and they lashed out, killing 5 people, including his best friend and possibly future girlfriend. Knowing that he'd killed the closest people he'd ever known, he ran away. Now wanted by the police and his family, he was a fugitive for 3 years.
At the Age of 17, he was resting in a KFC, enjoying a packet of Popcorn Chicken, when a group of shady looking men invaded the place, killing everyone inside with some kind of machine gun and taking Kurai Captive. He tried to escape, and killed one of the men, when another shot a lead lined net at him as he tryed Phasing through the floor, knocking him unconcious and capturing him at the same time. When he regained conciousness, he could feel that he was in a plane, he was tied in the lead lined net and was blindfolded, and was awake for about a minute before someone shouted "He's awake!" And thwacked him with the but of a Pistol. The next time he woke up he was inside the 'Hospital', strapped to an Experimentation Table with lead and Titanium lined hand Cuffs, with a girl over on the other side that looked a lot like his mum. He realised that he'd heard his parents talking about his cousin once, and knew instantly that this girl was it, but has resolved not to mention it.
He is currently Strapped to the table, with Shaz at the other side of the room(Unconcious or Concious, whichever you want King), in the same position, except Kurai has a mad scientist hanging over him with a large hypodermic Needle.
[spoiler=Appearence:]Of course, he looks a lot older than in the pic. This is how he looked at 13, imagine it with longer hair, stubble and taller.

Personality: Kurai is Emo-ish. He is usually a nice and calm individual with a well meaning perspective, although a slightly Pessimistic Outlook. He is quiet and polite, and rarely gets angry. He is usually the individual in the group who annoys people a lot because of his seeming 'lack of interest', but manages to somehow create an Ever-lasting positive attidude, no matter what the situation, and can calm anyone down, without resorting to excessive measures. He can also surprise people a lot, proving that Emo's are not the Satanic, self-harming pessimists the Media stereo-types them as. He loves rain and is always listening to his music, like the LostProphets and YM@6
[spoiler=Powers:](1)Name: Shadow Manipulation
Abilities: As the name suggests, it allows him to control shadows and darkness in an Area, allowing him to create physical beings out of the shadows, and almost magic-like attacks. Can also use shadows to become invisible, by enveloping himself in darkness, blocking light from hitting him an making it so the human Eye cannot detect him. (If you've ever seen Naruto you'll recognise this.) One of his more advanced techniques is Shadow Paralysis, which allows him to extend a shadow which, when it hits a living being, takes over that being and makes it do whatever he wants it to.
Cost/DownSide: While invisible, his shadow still remains, which may give him away.
When using abilities, he cannot create shadows from nothing, but can make small shadows larger and vise-versa. Shadow Paralysis: uses a lot of energy, so is used rarely. After elongated use, usually leaves Kurai Unable to move or use his powers. Also has a limited range for capture, though after capture the length is near infinite(Aka, he could make someone throw themselves off a cliff, and still possess them when they reach the bottom)
(2)Name: Phasing
Abilities: Allows Kurai to 'phase' through objects, allowing him to reach places that he would have ordinarily been unable to reach. Also allows him a whole new range of ways to attack, such as throwing his hand into another persons chest and ripping out their heart, and makes him nigh Impossible to capture, unless they find a way to negate his powers.
Cost/Downside: He cannot Phase through Lead, Mercury and similar materials. [/spoiler]
Other: Known among residents of his Home Town as 'The Ghost' because of his Powers. And as you can see from the image, he owns a large sword which enhances his darkness powers, though the blade was stolen when he entered the 'Hospital', and he aims to retrieve it again. [/spoiler]

[b]Bio:[/b] Aaron was born into a middle-class family. He lived happily there until he was six years old. Then, he was kidnapped and held for ransom. When his parents couldn't pay the ransom, the kidnappers took Aaron away, and began raising him as their own. They raised him very differently from his parents, and Aaron was nowhere near as happy as he had been with his original parents. When he turned fourteen, his "parents" enrolled him in high school, though he was younger than most of the kids there, and quite more poor equipped. His life, which was pretty much miserable from then on, took a turn for the "worse" two years later. Without warning, Aaron's powers triggered, killing the eight people around him in the school. Everyone was freaking out until a strange van appeared. They tried to take Aaron, when suddenly his other power triggered, and wings sprouted from his back. A chase ensued, until Aaron was finally captured. Something was injected into his arm, and he fell into a deep sleep. When next he would awake, the wings would be gone, and he would remember nothing of how he got there or why he was there.

[b]Personality:[/b] Aaron is usually kind and optimistic. He acts off of instinct and intuition, hardly trusting logic and reason; usually the results aren't what he had wanted. Occasionally, Aaron is struck by a mood swing, and becomes extremely depressed and emo. When he reaches this state, only those who are close to him can bring him out of that mood. No matter his mood, Aaron always tries to help others, and often gets in trouble in exchange.

[b]Electric/Lightning Manipulation[/b]
Aaron possesses the inert ability to manipulate lightning and electricity. With the manipulation comes a variety of abilities, including the ability to create weapons out of lightning, to control lightning and the electricity level in the air. His powers are amplified in wet, stormy weather, but take a greater toll on him. Whenever Aaron attempts to use this power, his eyes change color, to a bright golden yellow. He cannot use his power to a great extent, for fear of expelling his own energies and, eventually, his life force. If Aaron does resort to that, he must spend time resting, and allowing energy to charge back inside of him. In times of great stress, Aaron can pull lightning in around him, creating a double-edged sword; the lightning around him acts as a shield and weapon, but simultaneously shocks and hurts Aaron. As a result, he can only hold it for short periods of time.
[b]Flight[/b]
A pair of large, eagle-like wings sprouts from his back, allowing him to fly in the air. However, the wings are like any other bird's wings, and suffer the same flight problems (storms, injury, etc.). He can retract them and extend them at will, but doing so takes a great amount of energy. Normally, the wings are retracted, and he only uses them as a last resort option.

[b]Other Things:[/b] Though his powers were only seen once, he came to be known as the "Thunderbird". Keeps a pair of [url=http://blogs.eveningsun.com/latter/dagger.jpg]daggers[/url] strapped to his thighs at all times. The daggers were stolen when he was taken to the "Hospital", and he won't leave without them. Occasionally, he uses the daggers as a medium to his powers, channeling them through the daggers.

[b]Bio:[/b] Jyras lead an average life until a few months ago. He grew up with both his parents in his life and was an average student. He didn't do well in chemistry and biology, but was always good at math and physics. His disarming nature made him easy to get along with and he was a part of the school papers club and one of the top journalist.

His powers developed when he was almost hit be a car. He had been getting migraines for the entire day and the school nurse instructed him to head home. On his way, his power fully manifested and the change in his sensitivity to electrical signals caused a minor blackout and fell out into the street. He regained consciousness in time to see a truck barrelling towards him. He wished was still at school in that moment time slows in danger. The instant before he would have been struck by the truck, he teleported back into the bed in the nurse's office. Freaked out, he ran home and has been trying to understand his powers since; working out the range, and limitations to his teleportation.

He normally hangs out on the top of a tower where the concentration of cell phones is not as bad to think and practice. He took notes in on his powers, as well as things he has seen in a book he keeps in the pocket. Because he has been hiding his powers from his parents, he worked as a freelance photographer for the local papers to earn money for his aspirin. To build his stamina, he has been taking lessons in Chinese kenpo and rock climbing. The last thing he remembers was a man offering... something... to his parents. Now he is in this hospital... with no idea what is going on.

[b]Personality:[/b] Jy is cheerful and easy to get along with. He tries to help others as he can but also takes more on himself than he should, not liking to burden others. He is open with general things but, on the other hand, is secretive with information and likes to bribe people. He also likes to take notes and jots his observations down in his notebook, which doubles as a little black book.

[b]Power:[/b] [i]Jumper:[/i] Jy can teleport through use of a pocket dimension that is linked to him.
[spoiler=Details] He has his own personal bubble-pocket dimension (he calls it Nowhere) he can slip in and out of at will. He can manipulate the dimension to use it to teleport, jumping in and out at different points. His max distance normally is a mile or so. He also has an instinctive judge of distances. It works through spatial displacement so he switches places with whatever is at his target location (if he teleporting into a pool, a portion of equal area to his body will appear at his origin point, though he can actively prevent this.) He can extend a 'bubble' of his dimension around him up to three feet so can teleport one other person with him, but it tends to cause nausea and vertigo in his passengers. Teleporting non-living organic matter is easiest , then inorganic, then plants then living creatures.
He can control the specifics of the the teleportation, slowly fading out of existence by carefully shifting his 'presence' into Nowhere. Similarly, he can temporarily form clones by hoding his presence at the entrance and exit point but it takes focus. His powers come with a natural awareness of the dimensions overlapped with Nowhere so he can jump effectively. If he concentrates, he can accurately sense movement withing a slide or two.
Also, he can omit the stepping out part and hide in the dimension, but he can only stay there for about ten minutes as it needs an anchor in another (which he serves as) or it will separate for our dimension. There is a chance it will eventually reconnect, but who knows how long that will take. He can store things in the bubble and retrieve them, having a link to them. He cannot yet teleport a portion of something away (a mental block to prevent dismembering his own body) but can create a small rift from his fingers or limbs that can briefly teleport what they envelope, acting like an insanely sharp blade.

His powers have limits:
-His range of teleportation (which he calls Leaps. Jumps or Slips depending on the range) is, currently, a mile diameter of his origin point, but it is slowly growing.
-Jumps are slips in and out within 20 meters (which he calls a slide) require about the same amount of energy as climbing up a flight of stairs or so. So jumping 21-40 meters is the same as two flights, 41-60 three, etc. Consecutive jumps within the same slide uses less energy.
-Retrieving and storing items are much easier than slipping or jumping.
-His rift blades cut non-living organic matter and inorganic matter easier than organic one. To maintain the rift when it touches living organic matter is draining.
-He can partially slip in and out of his dimension to become invisible and intangible, but it's limit is the inverse of his teleportation; easier to phase through living matter than inorganic or non-living.
-His abilities are hindered by strong electrical signals and radio waves and he can actually hear them as a buzzing in his ears. Cell phones give him head aches and he cannot teleport within a slide of a radio or cell phone tower.
-He cannot leave living matter in the pocket dimension unless he is with it. Otherwise, it simply falls back into reality at his origin point
-He can (eventually) teleport things to him by manipulating the displacement factor, but only for the amount of air he can hug. It is more draining than teleporting as he isn't there to anchor the jump[/spoiler]

[b]Other:[/b] He has been having constant headaches since his powers developed due to the high amounts of cell phone activities in the cities. As a result, he pops aspirin like candy. He had a hat lined with a RFID shield that helped somewhat.

Anyway, everyone is accepted and Magnet is co-host (sorry Muffins, I know Magnet and I only want 1 co-host)

And now for some planning, along with my character!

The RP will take place in one of three made-up American Cities.

Vigil City, the city from my fic. It is located somewhere in central America and is surrounded by plains. There is a fairly large park, and a gigantic river runs straight through it.

Windy City, located on a plateu in the middle of the Nevada desert. It is known as one of the windiest cities in the world, but it is still sprawling with life. And crime.

Hyalopolis (meaning "City of Glass") is a harbor city located in Florida. It got it's name from the giant skyscrapers that is dotted around the city. On one side is the ocean, on the other is forest and swamps.

As for my character:
[spoiler=Application]Name: Destiny Vanguard, his identity has yet to be revealed to the public
Approximate Age: Unknown
Gender: Male
Bio: Not much is known about Destiny Vanguard. At times he help people, at others he don't. He claims to be able to see the future, and he is known to sometime say "It could not be hindered" when someone dies. By some he is known as an angel, by others a reaper. That depends on which side of the law you stand. Nevertheless, he is sen as a hero in the eyes of the citizen of Vigil City/Windy City/Hyalopolis.
Appearence: His true appearance is unknown. He wears a golden helmet covering his entire face, along with matching armor with purple trim. He does also wear a purple cape with two featherless wings hidden beneath. Whenever he takes flight these wings are shot out and set on fire, so one can assume that his cape is fireproof.
Personality: Very mysterious. Rarely talks, but when he does his words contain reat wisdom. He nows what justice is, but he also nows what vain justice is. Thus, he won't do anything to prevent something that he claims would happen anyway.
Powers:
[b]Flight[/b] - As claimed, he has two wings that is set on fire whenever he takes flight. He is known as one of the fastest flyer in America, known to be able to catch up with a jet whenever needed.

[b]Illusions[/b] - Able to summon illusions of whatever he desires. Criminals are nown to be hospitalized due to this. Only God knows what Doctor Destiny showed them...

[b]Suggested Foreseeing[/b] - He may be able to see the future, but this is only what he claims himself, and some, although few, of his visions have been proven false.

And fyi, Destiny Vanguard will be the one to save you from the hospital after a short while of you getting to know each other.

And are you choosing which city it is actually set in when you start it, or are you doing a vote thing. If it's the vote thing, then I vote Vigil City(easiest name and the place sounds the best to escape from.)

[u][b]Bio:[/b][/u] Danielle Andrews was the happy-go-lucky party-going daughter of the District Attorney for Hyalopolis, Sylvia Andrews, a girl enjoying her summer with her friends until she had to go off to Tallahassee to go to Florida State University, until she was kidnapped one night. Her mother, who was prosecuting a very powerful mob boss that, if sent to prison, would cause his entire power base to crumble, resulting in a bloody gang war, was told of the ransom, but Sylvia, believing the kidnapping of her worthless daughter to be a bluff, sent the boss to jail. Enraged, the man who kidnapped Danielle bought every single poison he could find and injected them into her, one by one, the slow-acting ones first, then the deadlier ones later. But for some reason, she refused to die, so he pulled out a syringe full of a pitch-black liquid and plunged the syringe into her neck, causing her to finally pass on, or so it seemed.
She woke up in the hospital days later to find a gas mask around her face. She was quickly told by the presiding nurse and doctor, both in biohazard suits, about her unique condition. She has been moping around the hospital ever since, unsure of what to do now that her own mother has forsaken her and apparently left her for dead.

[u][b]Personality:[/b][/u] Melancholy and dreary, she doesn't really have any reason to live, but she can't die either. She is also incredibly lonely due to the fact that she is highly toxic.
[u][b]Powers:[/b][/u]
[u]Zombie:[/u] Cyanide's bodily functions have totally stopped. She no longer has a heartbeat, her skin is deathly cold and equally pale, and the massive amounts of toxic chemicals and drugs still coursing through her system have guaranteed that she should be dead hundreds of times over. Then why is she still conscious and moving around? No one knows, at least not yet, since a complete analysis of every single chemical in her bloodstream would take weeks, maybe even months. But somehow, impossibly, she is in a state between living and dead. She can't regenerate, but she can still function, even if her limbs are cut off, though she doesn't feel any pain. (The bands all over her body hide the scars from where she sewed herself back up.) The only way to kill her would be totally eviscerate her, a bad idea, considering how dangerous her blood is, or burn her into ashes, an even worse idea due to the amount of toxic chemicals that would be released into the atmosphere.
[u]Toxicity:[/u] As the chemical analysis of Cyanide's blood continues, scientists are absolutely astounded at what the creeps that did this to her put into her system. But somehow, after all of that, she has evolved. Her entire body is toxic. Her skin has a thin coating of oily transparent slime that kills within the blink of an eye. Her blood is highly volatile and acidic. She can use her hands to inject anything from hallucinogenics to painkillers to paralytics to a slow, deadly poison, as long as she is touching bare skin. She wears a gas mask because her breath is effectively composed of the toxic chemicals in her body and her saliva contains a neurotoxin that randomly shuts down the victim's various organs and bodily systems. Furthermore, she is totally immune to any poison or toxic chemical since she is made up of the stuff. It is a total mystery how she is still "alive".
