Why did it happen? Mankind. Mankind had become greedy and selfish. Eventually, nearly all natural resources ever to exist had become completely depleted. Yet man still hungered for more. Despite the grave danger ahead, they continued with their greed. However, that was not the event that had changed Earth forever. A scientist, Afanasi Ivanov, was a normal chemist. However, he had always had an interest in nuclear power. So, deep in an untraceable cave, miles below his home, Afanasi built a nuclear warhead. This warhead was so powerful it could destroy the entire world... and so it did. Afanasi, a sensible man, hid in the remote chamber where he built the weapon, and then he launched it, destroying most of the world. Only about a million people survived throughout the entire world, and everything man had ever known was destroyed. Man began to rebuild itself, and the greed continued. Soon, everyone who wasn't a child or settled down in whatever run-down cities there were to live in was a mercenary. A hunter. A killer. And you are one of them.Joshua wandered the streets alone, pistols in hand. "I wish I had known what it was like before the explosion. Mother said that this place used to be called America... a strange name indeed." As Joshua walked, he heard a scream in the distance. He made sure his pistols were loaded and ran towards the source. When he arrived, he saw a gruesome sight. A man was being held in restraint by two mercenaries while the third had a large blade to the poor man's throat. Joshua aimed his pistols and shot both of them. Two mercenaries fell. Joshua shot the right pistol again. The man was safe. "Hello?" the man yelled, sounding worried, "Who's there? T...thank you for saving me." Joshua turned and went on his way.
Christian Exodia
Well, it has been 30 years since the accident. Much of it I have detailed in my many journals scattered across the world. Now, this one is complete. Now go, find the others when I am done." Francis closed this journal and in the current rundown city alley, threw it away. He then easily bought another and tucked it away. He smiled one of his rare smiles. "Journal 30 is finally complete, and tomorrow I shall begin the next." He said, nothing fazing him, walking out of the building. He always did this; in his final days of each journal, he looked for the best journal, usually he had a sturdy leather. But his last one, was one of lesser value. Plastic, as he recalled, as the city he stopped in had no leather.
Žäīἢ
Valcor slung his L96A1 back across his back, and walked off and away from the remains of a once well constructed bridge. A half mile away in a deserted street, a mercenary lay dead. Valcor made no detours on his route to get to the now deathly pale man whom he had just taken a life from, and smirked at he sight of his handiwork. There was a bullet hole almost directly between the corpse's eyes, from which blood and brain matter slowly dripped out of. "Well," he said as he looked down at the body in it's awkward position, "I guess my aim was a little off....It impacted just a tad to the right." He began to loot the corpse, stripping it of ammunition, firearms, and other objects of value. "He should have known better than to walk out freely into deserted streets, especially since he knew I was around. Too bad that mistake cost him his life." He smirked slightly at his sarcastic humor, as he took one final glance at the sprawled out body. Turning around suddenly, he began to walk down a near by alley, or what was left of it, as he unholstered his pistol and began loading it. "On to the next target..." he said to himself as he reached the end of the alley and unsafteyed his weapon.
六兆年と一夜物語
"S..stay away!" Atrum was striking with his swords, fighting against the illusions of his minds, whether they were real or tricks. tttttthey wannnnt to kkiiiiilllllll yyyyyyouu...aaattrumm... Upon hearing this, he attacked the air again. "Begone Demon!" tttttthhhhey fight dissshonorabbblyyy... Looking up, Atrum saw two mercenaries aiming their run-down firearms away from him. "No honor!" He started to climb up the blind side while the mercenaries started to look what was happening. Atrum managed to get behind them before they looked. "Your families must be ashamed! No matter, I will end your suffering demon!" He took out his swords and swiftly cut through both mercenaries heads like a hot knife through butter. Looking at the bleeding heads, he picked both of them off and threw them over the side of the building. "Know this! Honor will return!" His message was echoed throughout his surroundings. After his screaming, he checked both of the decapitated bodies. He saw a small note that were hiring both of the mercenaries to kill a target. Whispering, Atrum knew that whoever they had to kill, their target had no honor, otherwise he wouldn't have been targeted. bbbbbringg hooonorrr... "Begone Demon!" He climbed down the building bringing along the death note. He started to run, ignoring any of his "demons" around him to slay the noted target.
