From the game Darksiders. [i]If you're just going to hate on the borders, you need not post. They have their time and place, any good artist knows that. Seta
I don't know who you are, but you seem pretty cool so far. The tag, well, let the borders be unmentioned. Otherwise, the text, you should take off, only takes away from the focal. It seems somewhat LQ to me, think you've sharpened a little too much. Also, the style isn't very appealing. But it's a nice start, glad to see this section getting more active again.

RickiMinaj
Oh hello. Interesting piece. Lets start with your render. I assume it's a render, if not correct me. It's over-sharpened and pixelated. You have contrasting flows. One if going to the left, while the other is going up. This clashes and confuses your eyes when you look at the piece. Your light source is actually very nice, and I would like to give you props on matching the color of your focal with your light source. The effects around the render though, are points that attract your eye to the area of the focal point, but take away from the focal directly, making it a Negative Aid. Lastly, your text is just there. It doesn't destroy, but it doesn't look good either. Remove it for good measure. All in all, good work. I like what you do, and I hope to see more from you. ~ <3 Ino
Wahrheit
No renders here, boss! I prefer stocks. Everyone prefers stocks. Other than that you're going to have to be a little less vocabulous and a little more explanatory... you used a bunch of words/phrases that even Google doesn't know and because I design for personal pleasure rather than to meet other's needs I have no idea what they mean. Wahrheit
Negative aid is pretty much the only one I don't really understand. The flow is also a swoop around the hood. It's kind of circular including the hood.
I like renders... Don't speak for everyone please. And my vocabulary was pretty straightforward. The only words I see you probably having trouble with are "Negative Aid" which is a term that means it benefits positively to an extent, then it hinders. The other words, you as an artist should already know. Flow Focal Point Color Seriously? You don't know these? Wahrheit
It was a joke. ;p I know flow/color/focal, look up. Please don't start any arguments though. :/ I mean when it comes down to it art is subjective. I appreciate your critique of this piece, but I would rather hear general advice so I can work to do things in new ways than just get harped on. Icy
I have a problem with the feel... it doesn't feel like a signature. It feels like a large image cut down to size. And the avatar style is almost distracting. As far as technical stuff goes, the sudden blur cut on the sword is really noticeable.
Possibly, but who's to define what does or doesn't make a signature other than dimensions? The worst thing one can do with art is become pretentious about it... perhaps YCM has some learning to do.
If you read closely enough to the critiques people give you, you'll notice it's actually advice. They are giving you ways to improve. But if you want some flow advice, instead of tampering with swirls and straight lines, (the swirls are in the foreground while the straight lines are in the background) just try sticking to one of the two. The straight lines in the background actually point to the upper left so it actually contradicts the swirls lines that surround the focal. If you could apply that feature to the background with subtlety and then tone down the swirls near the render, this piece would actually look pretty neat. ~ <3 Ino
