I don't like him much. He made this horrible song for the horrible series Rescue Fire.

Going My Way should have been used during the crappy filler episodes of 5D's 2nd season. It's a dull song to listen to after Freedom and Believe in Nexus.

Okay, he did make this song for Street Fighter V.

Talk about trolling/bad taste. That song is great, and a quick search on TV Tropes says that Rescue Fire was pretty awesome. Freedom itself is pretty dull in comparison, and even though Believe in Nexus is memetic, it's nowhere near as entertaining as Going My Way is, which was actually fitting for the part where it was used, since it gave off the feeling of one who is approaching a final battle, and that's exactly what was going on in the series at the time.

That Street Fighter song must be from JAM Project, and Masaaki Endoh is but one member of that.

The Gaia Leon song is painful to hear in-show like the Rescue King song. It sounds like a generic giant robot anime song.

I've watched episodes of Rescue Fire a couple years ago. It wasn't that good. It had a cast with REALLY annoying voices, the costumes were several steps down from Rescue Force, the vehicles other than the leader's fire truck were horrible with ugly combinations, and it came off more as a Power Rangers clone while it's previous series tried to be different. The filler episodes were redundant. Many of them were kids misbehaving, which leads to the bad guys creating a monster from something related to misbehaving kids, Rescue Fire destroys it, kids behave. The worst episodes were the ones where they didn't even use the vehicles. The writers also pushed a romance with the leader and the team's only female which was generic.

The show blew me away with it's surprisingly great cgi (which Japan is terrible at) that rivals Michael Bay's transformers movies. Then, a month later, I realized "this show sucks."

I can't stand Going My Way. It lacks the finale emotion of Overlap and the optimistic energy of Precious Time, Glory Days. This is an "end of an era" series, and they couldn't reflect that in the song as much as I hoped. The song could have had the finale emotion-that tell us that this is the end-and the optimistic energy-that tells us the future is bright and full of hope-of the previous show's final season intros, but instead, it's just a "road to the final battle" song as you said.

I wouldn't know. The song is from 1995.

Have you heard of GaoGaiGar? That's a pretty standard giant robot anime, and Masaaki Endoh did the theme there as well.

I haven't seen the show myself, so I can't argue with that.

And yet you think Freedom and Believe in Nexus are better songs? Would either of those songs have been fitting for a final battle theme? Believe in Nexus, maybe, but certainly not Freedom. If you pay attention to the lyrics, it really is optimistic and is basically about teaming up to defeat the enemy and head towards the future. I think that alone is sufficient.
