That was until one day The Gilded Rose thought they deserved more than everyone else. The Gilded Rose was the most technologically advanced faction of Jigen; with half their residents being robots, or humans that had robotic parts they figured that they should be the supreme rulers of the world of Jigen and command all the factions. They quickly took over The Frozen Lakes which housed two separate factions all together. Their next target was The Wakening Fields; with some resistance from the other factions they were able to hold them off for a few weeks but then The Wakening Fields had also succumbed to the wrath of The Gilded Rose. Now, Jigen is divided into all it's separate factions, in which all are arguing and disrespecting each other; will you fight for peace again? Will you help The Gilded Rose? Or will you just watch it all go down? It's your choice in a world divided! Rules: -All forum and role play section rules apply in this thread as well -My decisions are the raining factor in this RP. -If you pick a certain faction you must play the part. I.E. No joining an all Monk faction and then using a bio-cannon as a weapon. The accepted

Name: Synthetic Administrator of Resources And Advancement (SARAA, pronounced Sarah)] Age: 3 Gender: Genderless. Has Female voice synthesizer. Faction: Gilded Rose Alignment: Evil History: SARAA was a groundbreaking achievement for The Gilded Rose because she was the first "Strong Artificial Intelligence" ever developed. Sure, there were multiple "Weak AIs" out there, but those had their knowledge pre-programmed into them. SARAA had to learn everything. The first thing she learned was her life expectancy. Each terminal was designed to contain a years worth of information. There were sixteen terminals. Conviniently, SARAA also learned basic math skills during this first lesson. Then came the next big piece of information. It was a quote, but it had a deep meaning to SARAA. "I Think, Therefore, I AM." Immediately, SARAA's logic programming went hard at work, and got to the existance of the income tax before anyone else thought of anything to teach her. Now that the designers and programmers were happy with their creation, they told SARAA one last thing. "You'll be perfect." Personality: SARAA was programmed to have a completely neutral personality, being designed only to redirect and change The Gilded Rose's economy. However, being the strong AI that she is, SARAA developed a slightly sarcastic personality, something which is now a set part of her programming and cannot be deleted. AppearanceSARAA consists of four parts. The first of which is a memory bank, designed to hold all the information she finds. The memory banks are sixteen black rectangular prisms, arranged in a four by four square with a two foot square between each terminal. In the center of the entire square is a white cyllinder, which each terminal connects to and leads to the second part of SARAA: The "body." This is where most of the action is, with each possible aspect required of a strong AI located in separate regions around a main "eye." The eye itself is a sphere, connected to the surrounding ring by multiple wires Inside the eye is SARAA's voice synthesizer and high priority functions. The fourth and final portion is SARAA's Physical Manifestation. This body is a basic robotic structure, which is undeniably a member of The Gilded Rose, but is able to move about. The only real feature of the Physical Manifestation is that it has an advanced receiver designed so that SARAA can move it or speak through it while it is anywhere on the planet.

Age: 14 Gender: Male Faction: Frostborn Alignment: Neutral History: Aelyar was born into a small family, with only him and his parents. His father was a mildly prosperous hunter, one of the best in the village, so Aelyar was never out of the spotlight. His whole life, people have expected him to be a great hunter, using his inherited magic skills to track and capture the polar creatures near his village. He began showing these skills shortly after he turned eight. Similar to most, it was a small act, but one nonetheless done using his psyche. One night, sitting in front of the household fire, he had noticed a rat scurrying from one of the small holes in the walls, almost unnoticable. He knew that his mother was terrified of them, and since his father was out hunting, he did not want to alarm her. Aelyar thought about getting up, but before he could, a small shard of ice shot out through the hole and skewered the rat. His mother saw, rushed over and completely oblivious to the recently-killed vermin and fiercly hugged her son. From then on, he constantly practiced, weaving ice, freezing water and generally working with his natural element. Now that he is fourteen, he has gone hunting with his father on regular occasions, using conjured Nevermelt Spears to slay the wild arctic yak and walrus herds. Personality: Like all Frostborn, he will not open up to people he doesn't know well, but once he befriends them, people find that he's not so different from many others. When not displaying his racially characteristical cold indifference and lack of intrest, he can actually be rather excited and eccentric towards life. In a hunt, he is a gifted tracker, knowing all the usual trails of his homeland's native animals, and he kills cleanly so as to cause the animal minimal pain. Aelyar has several habits, none of them good. The foremost, and the one that gets him most into trouble, is that he has a rather sarcastic nature. Most demands are usually responded with retorts, and his sharp tongue often rewards him with lectures from his parents. However, he will usually have a comeback for almost any situation. Appearance: Aelyar has a pale-blond, nearly stark white hair, and is charateristic of most Frostborn. Slanting, slightly wider-than-most eyes and skin untouched by acne are his most noticable features. Aside from that, he is rather ordinary. He has a light build, gangly arms and legs as per usual of a pubesant boy, but a slight limp impedes his walk due to a maulling from a polar bear when he first went hunting with his father that never fully healed. Aside from that, he has confident, lithe movements and an impish smile usually playing around his lips.

Age: 16 winters (16 years) Gender: Male Faction: FIDO Alignment: Good History: Originally born into one of the more sedimentary camps. The third of five children and the oldest son, he was a part of a well off family. Born in the cusp of winter and spring, his alignment is to both water and air. Like all the children of the FIDO, he was taught the ways of the wild; basic things in tending life of all kinds, growing plants, hunting, home making, magic and spell weaving, and crafts such as tanning and skinning. In around his 12th spring, he was infected with a plague that occasionally claims the young of the FIDO; Death`s Heat. Stricken with fever for almost a month; unable to eat and only sleeping fitfully, he withered away to almost nothing. His mother and sister, both practitioners of the curative artes, managed to cure him despite the urges of other of the FIDO to end his suffer, but he never regained the sturdiness that his race generally had, and focused on honing his skill rather than his strength, as most boys his age did. During 13th spring, he underwent the testing, a ritual conducted by the village leader in order to determine a youths destined path. He was divined to be a follower of the hunter caste, like his father and father`s father before him. Tarren was eager to join one of the nomadic hunting bands in order to better his skills. However, because of his recent affliction with Deaths heat, his father was reluctant to allow it, preferring him to stay within the village. Determined go, Tarren undertook the Walk of the Ancestors, a ritual journey through an mystical network of caves normally held when one was older, to prove his strength and join one of the clans. There, he met his totem; a sleek forest cat with dappled fur of gold and silver. He emerged from the three day long journey as one of the youngest to complete it successfully, the mark of the Felain clan plain for all to see. Faced with the evidence of talent and ability, his father gave his permission, as well as a bone shard crest as symbol of his blessing. Personality: Tarren is a bit snide and abrasive. He dislikes being underestimated, but understands that it can be a good thing to a hunter and fighter. He has trouble doing things he thinks is wrong or could be done by more efficient methods. True to his upbringing, he cares greatly for all life and hates to see the wasteful spilling of blood. He believes all life should be respected. Unlike many of the FIDO, he doesn`t hold fast to killing to end the suffering and prefers to try to save the life, as he himself is alive because of his families care. Appearance: Roamers and hunter by nature, members of the FIDO fraction generally possess darker tanned skin and dark hair that is often a bit faded from exposure to the sun. He reflects the average, having long brown hair that is lighter at the ends than at the roots. Braided into a queue that hangs halfway down his back, his hair is hidden in a sleeve woven from goat’s wool. Two family piercings decorate his right ear; a loop from his mother’s clan on the upper lobe and another from his father. A bone shard, carved into a crest, is also on his right ear. One fang hangs from his left ear; a symbol of his following of the hunter caste. Lanky with a corded wiry frame, he moves the easy grace of one accustomed to traveling long distances on foot and moving quietly in the wild. He lacks the sturdy build that is the norm in his people in favour of a slighter one, remnants of a sickness he had as a child. The soles of his feet are heavily callused as he almost never wars shoes. The tattoo of the Felian clan, a stylized feline head formed from swirling lines, adorns his left shoulder, prominently displayed by his sleeveless style of dress. Faint scars are scattered over his body, primary on his limbs; testament to his forays in hunting. Worked hard from a young age, he has become completely intent on avenging the death of his brothers (2). He knows little about their death besides the fact that he knows it was caused by the Glided Rose. He believes that the Glided Rose disgrace machines and machinery by using them for evil deeds. Fade was put into the elite squadron of the Iron Lotus, the Machina 5 (am i allowed to do that?). He now fights with the Machina five to one day defeat the Glided Rose and bring back peace to Jigen. Personality: Calm, doesn't talk much to members of other factions, let alone his own. But he does talk openly to those he trust, such as his squad mates. Very brutal when in battle, and often looks for a harsh, slow kill when fighting someone evil. Very focused and determined when it comes to his obligations as a Machina 5 and never gives up even in the face of death. Appearance: Short, spiky brown hair.

Name: Xarfax Myrgrimm Age: 24 Gender: Male Faction: The Withering Willow Alignment: Neutral (would never side with the gilded rose though) History: Xarfax’s mother was an only child and since she was still unmarried by the age of twenty four, her father decided to sell her virginity to a demon in order for him to ensure that he would have a grandson. Xarfax’s mother barely survived what can only be viewed as a vile and gruesome act of rape but the demon kept its end of the promise and made sure that she was impregnated with a son. Xarfax’s grandfather was enraged by the fact that his daughter had almost been killed, but he knew he couldn’t do anything about it as their ruler, the most powerful warlock in the whole city, wouldn’t dare to pick a fight with a demon. Xarfax’s mother died after given birth to him, something that is probably connected to the fact that he is a half demon, and thus his grandfather was the one to raise him. Growing up, Xarfax started to notice quite early on that he wasn’t like other children. He looked much like them, with the exception of his violet irises, pale skin and hair so dark it seemed like ink, but there was something else about them, about everyone in town that was different from him. He could see it on them when he spotted them, they had a strong white light bursting from their chests, he didn’t have one, not exactly. There was a light there, but it was very dim and when he was young he was scared of this, thinking it meant that he was dying. He asked his grandfather about it several times, but the old man only seemed to avoid the question, looking quite frightened when he was asked about it. It wasn’t until Xarfax hit puberty that his grandfather told him about the whole ordeal around his birth and thus what Xarfax really was. As his grandfather told him this Xarfax became enraged with him for what he had done to his own daughter, Xarfax’s mother, and thus to Xarfax himself. The anger triggered the demonic powers within him to activate and when he stood there yelling at his grandfather, he could see the old man gasping for air and growing paler. The magical powers had killed his grandfather, perhaps because that was what Xarfax wished at the time. As he had been schooled by his grandfather in the arts of dark magic, he had not only become orphaned by his death but also without a mentor and teacher. He could still school himself on the theoretical parts of magic using the various books he had access to in his home, but the practical magic couldn’t be learned that way, not in a safe manner at least so he stayed away from it. In order to keep himself off the streets and keeping his home he started to work as an apprentice with a local tanner, a job he had surprising talent for even with his lack of experience. His master provided him not only with enough money to be able to pay for his rent and buy food for himself, but he also took on the role as a mentor for the young half demon. When he was fifteen he had become so skilled that Hamlin, his master at the tannery, had to give him a raise and thus he could save money so he would be able to attend “the school of magi”. By the time that Xarfax had turned nineteen years old he sold his grandfather’s house and left the tannery, much to Hamlin’s dismay, in order to attend the school of magi and to learn magic properly. As a child he had learned some basic spells from his grandfather but now he would be able to be schooled in the art of magic. He had always had an unexplainable thirst for magic, even as a child, something that he suspected had something to do with his demonic side. He also knew that he had a talent for it as he had learned everything his grandfather had taught him quite quickly. Or, at least he guessed he had since his grandfather had been so amazed with how quickly he had mastered the simple spells. Xarfax breezed through the first two semesters at the school as they were only taught very basic spells, most of them he even knew from his training with his grandfather and it wasn’t until the second semester of the second year that he was starting to actually have to put some energy into his studies. He hasn’t gotten a lot of friends at the school as most of the other students in his group was a bit intimidated by him. Whether it was for his looks or his talent he didn’t know. He is currently finishing up his sixth and final year at the school of magi. Personality: Xarfax is quite a timid and observing person. He usually doesn’t speak unless spoken to and if asked a question he usually keeps to short answers that only directly answer the question. He is a fast learner, probably due to his demonic side, and has found himself having a minor talent in many different areas. He is completely useless when it comes to math however, a subject that he has never been able to understand and probably never will understand either. He has minor OCD and cannot stand when things are unorganized and will sometimes organize things in a room he’s in if he’s bothered by the mess.
He has some demonic features that are not represented very well in the picture. These are his violet eyes and his pitch black hair that is so dark that it barely reflects light at all, it’s kind of like ink.

Name: Tyxcze (TIG-ze) Age: 53 Years Gender: Male Faction: The Withering Willow Alignment: Neutral History: Tyxcze was never part of the Withering Willow when he was born. In fact, he was part of the Elder Sage for half of his life. During his time part of the Elder Sage, he excelled in all the elements. Eventually he went to far so that he was unstoppable. The other members of his faction reacted by gouging both his eyes out and forcing him to forget everything he learned, causing him to be blind and weak. He was then left to die wandering walking around the earth until he encountered the Withering Willow. Instead of being killed, he was placed into their hostility while training him in Demonology and the Dark Arts. Since he was blind, he wasn't affected by the competition of others and excelled. Eventually, what he learned replaced what he knew. After the Gilded Rose became aggressive, he refused to be part of the same Alliance as the Elder Sage. Escaping his enemies, he has managed to wander once more, only this time prepared. Personality: Tyxcze is usually calm yet willing to jump into battle. He gets impatient and angry from the fact that he had his own eyes gouged out. He prefers to stay alone by himself, although he isn't too bothered with the company of others. Appearance: Tyxcze is well-built from the countless miles he has walked. He has scruffy grey hair that is kept untidy from the main fact that he doesn't refresh his appearance. He doesn't wear a shirt, although he does wear a grey robe that covers his torso. He wears black cloth pants and leather shoes. He staggers a bit from the fact that he can't see, although he doesn't do it that much from the fact that his demonology training has gained the ability to "see" without seeing with his eyes, but everything is monotone. Formerly a member of the Withering Willow, when her faction joined the Gilded Rose, she was offered by her father as an "experiment". This experiment was to take a human and make it into a bio-computer. Many tests were done on her, most of them torturous and downright inhumane. When they were finished with her, she was a completely different being- a Human-Computer Hybrid. All did not end well, though. After this long and arduous process she turned on her creators and fled. She was designed to be a stealth model- a spy, an assassin, and primarily an infiltrator. The Gilded Rose misjudged her human emotions about things, and they had payed the price. Large amounts of money were put into this project, and the experiment was gone. She now resides in a city currently occupied by the Iron Lotus in the Sand Sea, hiding from her creators... but inevitably, they will find her. GreyCat
"Move Ri," Tarren said, pushing the cat off his chest. He rolled upright and stretched his sleep-stiffened muscles before hopping to the balls of his feet. From the carved and polished bowl in the corner, he splashed the last of the sleep from his face and downed a few mouthfuls of water. Ri'kan joined him and lapped up a bit for himself. Tarren gazed at his reflection in the rippling pool and quickly re-braided his hair. The Elder is waiting Tarren, Ri'kan pointed out silently as he licked the water droplets from the ends of his whiskers. Hunters and their companions shared a rapport that those outside the FIDO could neither translate nor replicate. As he understood it, he would be able to understand other feline companions far better than he could the other species he met so far. Hurry and get dressed. Tarren didn't comment, but did move quickly as he slipped into his soft leather trousers. He abstained form donning a top, knowing that though his thin frame was odd for a FIDO, it was proof he survived Death's Heat. A testament few could boast. He hung the necklace strung with the fangs of his greater killls on his chest and made on last check of his appearance. Meeting the elder was no small matter. Ri'kan chuckled. Fine plumage for the Elder, little one? You truly are cat-souled. Take care, lest your boasting brings unwonted dangers on your back, Ri'kan commented, the last said in the manner of one quoting a proverb. He added a tad smugly, I, of course, am already perfect. Hush you, Tarren said, affection soften his words, hold that gilded tongue of yours before the Elder lest you bring those trials on us. He loved the cat like a brother, pride and all. Ri'kan hummed to himself as he padded beside Tarren into the main room. Tarren covered a fist and inclined his head and body in a bow. Not quite submissive, but he was a cat-souled. Cats didn't do submissive. Ri'kan dipped a head. "Spirit's blessing upon this morn, Elder," Tarren greeted him in the formal manner. "I am honoured with your visitation." Vocals: Functioning Visuals: Functioning Wireless Controls: Functioning Major/Minor Dexterity: Functioning Sound Intake: Functioning Pressure Shock Absorber/Receivers: Functioning Scan Complete SARAA looked through her new addition with interest. Everything was so new. The feeling of something below her. The shifting of balance as one walked towards the mechanic at the other end. Three years of memory, and SARAA was only just experiencing all of this. "Well, it seems that what you have made is a perfect manifestation of a perfect being." The words rolled out of her "body" as she explored the functions of her physical prescence, learning new things as fast as SARAA could take them in. "I would like to thank you, as it seems that you are not only wanting but deserving of my thanks. Unfortunately, rewarding you would be detrimenal, as it would be replacing something as perfect as this with something imperfect." Yes, it was a little offensive, but it was also a compliment at the same time. The mechanic could act to either one they felt was more important. BLUR
Fade put on his clothes and grabbed his starter adventure pack and headed downstairs to meet up with the rest of his teammates. He sighed heavily as he went down the short flight of stairs. Recently there wasn't anything to do, and all his comrades would do was drink. Fade wouldn't drink with them, because he feared that if he drank as well and someone from the Glided Rose or any other their puppet factions were to attack, that he would be easily killed and unable to protect his drunk teammates as well. He kept trying to explain this to his teammates but they just love to drink too much. Fade headed towards the table right next to the one the other four members of the Machina Five were sitting at. He nodded good morning to them. He put his Adventurers Startre Pack on top of it and opened it.
Final Fantasy Revolution
Tarren's Story: The Elder stands from his sitting position and also bows to the young FIDO member. "I thank you for your respect young one, but please be seated." Tarren was seated as Elder Mossweave turned towards Tarren's parents and also bowed. "I thank you for your hospitality and respect but I must ask you to retire from this room; the young one must make this decision on his own." Tarren's parents nodded their heads up and down in agreement, stood up and bowed to the Elder, and then walked slowly and calmly outside of the house. "Don't fret, this isn't as serious a matter as your probably thinking it is." The Elder said and then sat down across the table from Tarren and his pet. "You are of age and should make your own decisions." The Elder said and then looked in the eyes of Tarren. "I have a task for your, it's unusual that we do tasks outside the village but this task is for the alliances of FIDO." The Elder send and sighed to nothing in particular. "A member of The Iron Lotus will be here in our midst shortly; The Iron Lotus is an important alliance for FIDO as is The Unbreakable Branch. When this representative gets here you and he will form a party and travel far to the territory of The Frostborn; they have sent request fer the own alliance to The Unbreakable Branch and we'll need all the help we can get if we're ever to break out into war." The Elder said and then looked around the room and then back at Tarren. "It is your decision to accept this task or not." The Elder Explained. SARRA's Stroy: "Ah SARRA, your just as I envisioned you!" Is all that Gear Master Flix said to SARRA's speech. "I'm glad that everything works well in your new body, now let me explain something to you." Flix said and then put down the tools he was holding and then turned around to look at SARRA and smiled at the form he had made for his invention. "Your weaponry and your equipment should all be online and everything should be working well. Your first task is to take a stroll around town; I need to walk around the entirety of The Gilded Rose's main city so that we can test out your body really well. Feel free to do any tasks city dwellers ask of you as you walk around but I'd say walk all the way to the North Wall then come back." Flix commanded of SARRA and then went back to his table. Fade's Story: "Hey Hey!" One of the Machina Five members said to Fade; it was the Fourth Member, Bosco, that had called to him. He sat next to him as he opened his pack and examined his contents. <Fade Received 1 Red Potion!> <Fade Received 1 Focus Monocle!> I wonder what these things are? Perhaps someone around you might know! Fade's items into his ITEM SLOTS and that's when Bosco slapped him right on the back as hard as he could. "Hey, man! We did that Cedar Walker mission while ya were sleeping, really could of used you out there!" Bosco shouted in his drunken hysteria and that's when a hand grabbed Bosco's left should and another persons subtle voice told him to go sit at the other table. "You know how Bosco gets, Fade, I'm surprised you let him sit down." The First of the Machina Five, Don, said as he took the former Bosco's seat. Don never seemed to get drunk and yet always seemed to drink as much as the others; it was extremely weird. "Hey, listen." Don got in close. "A representative of our nation, that is The Iron Lotus, was sent to pick up someone from the allegiance of FIDO to..." Don cut himself off to look up from his chair and scope out the bar, he saw that none but The Machina Five and the bartender were there and then came back down to his whisperings with Fade. "Their planning on adding The Frostborn to OUR alliance. But I don't buy it for a second so I need The Machina Five to be on full alert, and that starts by getting all of us stronger." Don said and then stood up. "Machina Five! Stop drinking!" All the members of the group slammed their glasses down and stood up and said "Ai!" Don walked over to the bar door. "Give yourselves a few minutes of rest and meet me at the fields just outside of town; Fade, you come with me now as you weren't drinking like the rest." Don said and then walked out of the bar. GreyCat
It seems your time to strut has come, little one, Ri'kan hummed quietly, his whiskers twitching and Tarren in amusement. He spoke in a manner that only Tarren would understand. Pity. I did enjoy your fumbling attempts to leave kittenhood. So, do you take this opportunity to pad with the adults, or do you stay hidden in the safety of the nest? Despite Ri'kan's mocking words, both he and Tarren knew the answer would be yes. Tarren had a fascination for the world outside the boundaries of the FIDO. He drunk in stories told of the peoples that lived in distant lands told around fires by far ranging Loners. Of how people turned their backs on forces of nature, depending instead on created ways. Now a chance to see for himself presented itself. Ri'kan twitched his whiskers again. Don't keep the Elder waiting, little one. "Thank you Elder," Tarren said with a smile. "Not only is this an important task for the Tribe, but it is also path that I have often dreamed of, but never considered as possible. I would be honoured to accept this responsibility." radio414
"Yes, after analyzing that command, it does sound like a good idea." SARAA replied as she left the room, heading back to her main computer base to prepare. That's when she started thinking a little more than she had been. It was a little demeaning, actually, being ordered by a lesser being, mechanical or not. It was almost as bad as being taught by one, but she had only had to endure that for one year before moving onwards to her "15 year singularity cycle." In theory, it was a good idea, but in reality, one year for an AI was an eternity. And SARAA's eternity was spent learning near perfect things from near perfect machines and being expected to find the perfect solutions. Arriving back at her main room, SARAA began preparing. She had already scanned her room from the security cameras and developed some sort of strategy for dealing with the outside world. The reason she used the words "Some Sort Of" was because it really only consisted of two things, a box marked "Robotic Starter Kit" and a weapon that was quickly identified as an "Eclipse Gun." Apparently the latest weapon technology. Way beyond those piddlingly insignificant Frostborns with their little ice picks. After holstering her weapon in a convienient pocket on her body, as well as quickly opening the box, SARAA directed her physical manifest through the winding corridors and outside into the open world. BLUR
Fade nodded as Don explained what was going to happen. "The Frostborn are in an area controlled by the Glided Rose, how can they be trusted? This is a very foolish move on both our nation's part and FIDO's part," Fade said to Don. He followed Don outside side to side. "If the Frostborn are looking to decieve our nation, that could turn to a great war, in which we the Machina Five would kill all of those scum." "By the way, Don," Fade started. He took out his Focus Monocle. "Do you know what this is used for? I have no idea, but I get the feeling it's important."
Final Fantasy Revolution
Tarren's Story: "Then the responsibility is yours." Elder Mossweave said, while giving Tarren a polite and deserving smile. He than touched the ground in Tarrens house and his eyes seemed to glow slightly. "Ah, our visitor from The Iron Lotus has almost arrived; make yourself ready Tarren and quick, we wouldn't want him to go without you!" Elder Mossweave said and then stood up and bowed to Tarren to wish him ado. "Oh, I almost forgot. The Iron Lotus member may use objects and tactics you've never seen before; don't be frightened if something seems amiss." Elder Mossweave said and then exited the house and walked towards the entrance to FIDO; probably to welcome the traveler. SARRA's Story SARRA opened her {Robotic Starter Kit!} <SARRA Received 1 Electromagnetic Repair Kit!> <SARRA Received 1 Doppelganger Generatatron> In invention probably made by Flix himself; you should analyze it or ask Flix what it does. SARRA put her items away in her ITEM SLOTS and was on her way through the town when someone hollered to her and an old man walked up to her and then looked her in the eye. "Listen you robot! I needs my kitty and it's in that tree! You'll have to get it for me, I'm far to old to be climbing that tree!" The old man said to SARRA and then looked around as a couple people started to look at SARRA like they'd never seen a robot before even though there were robots doing pretty much every other task in the city but getting this man his cat... Decisive Event! Decided weather to help this old man out or blow him off and continue with your own stuff. Fade's Story Don was agreeing with everything that Fade was saying about how this was a bad move for everyone involved and that they shouldn't be dealing with any nation controlled by The Gilded Rose. It was at that time that Fade pulled out his Focus Monocle and Don's face turned into a happy one. "Hey, it's a Focus Monocle! I haven't see one of these in over a decade." Don took it from Fade as to show him what it does. "I'll shoot that conveniently setup tin can over there first." Don took out his fission blaster and fired a bolt of green energy that missed the tin can. "Now, you saw how I just missed? If I put this Focus Monocle one and then fire..." Don did so and fired at the tin can; it was almost as if the Focus Monocle made it impossible to miss the can and the can was totally denigrated. "It raises your accuracy as well as the power of your attacks." Don said and handed it back to Fade; they were already in the fields when they tested the monocle so no one would get alarmed, and by this time the rest of The Machina Five were just showing up. "Good, was wondering when you'd get here!" Don said to them and they stopped and were at attention. "First things first, target practice." Don pressed a button and out of nowhere, shooting targets and close range attack dummies popped out of the ground and out of the trees, ready to be destroyed. "Machina Five, start your training!" Don shouted and they were off to destroy the targets. Target Practice! Under the guidance of Don, you have been told to destroy targets. Destroy ten close ranged targets and then report back to Don for further training.
GreyCat
Immediately, Tarren dashed back to his room. Ri'kan followed at a more sedated pace. Tarren pulled the leather vest he had dismissed earlier from beneath a stack and shrugged into it. No sense in meeting his new teammates half naked. They probably wouldn't understand the subtle boasts he would be making anyway. He rummaged about for his knife and secured it to his belt, then started looking for a few other travel necessities; tinker, flint, the whet stone to keep his knife sharp... Ri, check my pack, he said as he dug through a pile in the corner of the room. He could hear his parents moving around beyond his room, but didn't have much attention to spare for them at the moment. No sense in searching for what is already prepared, he said as he set aside a spare set of clothes. Like a kitten looking for a shrew in the bush when his sire already added it to the pile, Ri'kan teased. He did comply, knocking the bag open with an almost lazy swipe of his paw and digging out the contents like he would a vole from its burrow. radio414
"..." If no one around her would help... It seemed that robots succumbed to the "Someone Else's Problem" problem. It was the problem where no one would help because they assumed that the problem was someone else's, and therefore, someone else would take care of it. Normally, this could be remedied by directly ordering a person to do something, which is what the old man did. By directly ordering a person to do something, it drastically decreased the chances of them blowing them off. Besides, a little morale boost in the elderly wasn't a bad idea. And it was imperfect to succumb to such a mortal problem like SEP, so SARAA directed her avatar to the tree. She wouldn't climb it, though. SARAA was still doubtful of her dexterity and it's skills, so she had to take a second option. Cutting down the tree. Taking out her Eclipse gun, SARAA fired multiple shots into the undoubtably fake tree. As the singularities absorbed the synthetic matter, gravity slowly bent the tree until the leverage snapped the remains of what was holding it up. Turning to the old man SARAA said, "I have rescued your cat. However, I cannot take responsibility for whether or not it is still alive." Following that, she walked away. Taking out the odd trinket she had found with her repair kit, SARAA began scanning it. Scanning... ... Object Identified as Doppelganer Generation. BLUR
Fade took out his Dual M5#3 Gauntlets out of his backpack. He put it on and they made a small beeping sound signaling that the power was on. "Too bad I haven't unlocked the gauntlets shooting ability yet, I guess I'll just have to go for the close range targets." Out of the palm of the gauntlets came two light violet beam sabers. Fade grabbed the sabers by the hilts. "Lets try this," Fade said as he took out his focus monocle and put it on. He lunged at the close range targets at sliced at least ten of the in half. Fade then turned off his sabers and closed up the hilts (The hilts are just like those cheap plastic lightsabers that fold into the hilt except the hilt is the one that folds). He then inserted the hilts into his gauntlets and walked back to Don. When he found DOn, he reported his training. "Got anything else for me Don?" Final Fantasy Revolution
Tarren's Story: Tarren opened his {Adventurers Starter Pack!} <Tarren Received 1 Pouch of Healing Herbs!> <Tarren Received 1 Coin of Ancestry!> What are these things? Better talk to Elder Mossweave or your parents about this. Tarren put his items in his ITEM SLOTS. Suddenly the door could be heard to his house, it was opening with a subtle creaking. Tarren's parents once again greeted Elder Mossweave and the knew man who was dressed in black clothing with a black cloak over it and the hood of that cloak was covering most of his face. "Greetings once again!" Elder Mossweave said as he sat down around the table. "I have found The Iron Lotus member at the tavern and have welcomed him into our society, this is..urm...what did you say your name was again?" The man flicked his cloaks hood off to reveal his left eye had a scar running down to his chin, he was wearing a sadistic and uncaring smirk and had light brown hair that was strung in a long ponytail. "Jack, my name is Jack Sisco." He said and then frowned. "We needed a FIDO member to come on this mission; for we need to bring an aura of respect and ease to The Frostborn." Jack explained and then looked around the room. "Which one of you will be accompanying me?" The Elder looked to Tarren's parents and they both shouted the same thing. "Tarren! Get out here now!" The Elder chuckled and turned to Jack. "None of us will be going, we have selected a mighty fine candidate who will accompany you." The Elder said, all the while nodding his head up and down. SARRA's Story: "Thank ya kindly!" The old man shouted as a horned mountain lion walked from the rubble of the tree but almost instantly licked the mans hand. "Aw, aren't you a good kitty?" The old man said and patted him gently, he looked up to reward the passerby but it was already gone. SARRA at this point was making quite the time on her quest of taking a walk, she was mere steps from where she had to turn around. "Hey robot." A human man said from a dark ally just to SARRA's left. "Why don't you come here, we're giving away free parts to the first three robots!" The man said, although he did sound convincing, it was obviously a trap of some sort... Fade's Story: Don was standing there watching the target practice when Fade came up and said that he was finished. "Ah very good, hm." Don was thinking when another came up and said he was done. "Ah, Jeremy is also finished it seems, why don't you spar with him? My second in command versus my third!" Jeremy nodded and Don jumped back and called out some rules. "No items, that means I don't wanna see ya busting out that Focus Monocle Fade!" Don explained and then moved on. "Don't use any of your Equipment either; save that stuff for real battles; just weapon on weapon." Don said, Jeremy smiled as he flicked his standard Machina Five cloak in the wind and grabbed something that was his belt, it seemed to be a small length of pipe. "Looks." Jeremy said as he started spinning the pipe, it got longer and bigger and then shaped itself till it looked like one big lance that seemed to be coated in an odd energy. "Can be deceiving." Jeremy uttered and then went to slam the lance down right on Fade's left shoulder... BATTLE! -Use your weapons to battle Jeremy! Equipment and Items are not available at this time.... BLUR
Fade knew he didn't have the time to eject his beam sabers from his gauntlets, so instead he clapped together his gauntlets on Jeremy's lance. He managed to get a hold of it, but Jeremy was stronger than him and was overpowering him, so Fade let go of the lance and rolled out of the way. He then ejected his sabers and ran towards Jeremy and began slashing at him. But Jeremy was too good with weapons and Fade wasn't able to hit him. Fade jumped back just in case Jeremy were to suddenly attack him in while he was unaware. He smirked, "Well Jeremy, I think I see now why you drink so much without even considering that you might be attacked, you can win even if you are drunk. You're good, but, that doesn't mean i'm not better!" Fade said as he lunged at Jeremy. He crossed his two sabers with each other and smashed them both on Jeremy's lance. Now it was another test of strength. They were both pushing on their weapon to overpower the other and Fade knew that. So he side stepped causing Jeremy to trip from his own force. Then Fade went after him.
GreyCat
Tarren managed to store his rather simple needs in pack and stepped out into the main room with his normal grace and skill. Beside him, Ri'kan slipped out with his natural arrogance, with silent paws and fluid motions he accomplished with more ease than most people took to breath and with a litheness that a creature that size should not naturally have. He gave Jack an appraising glance then took rest on a nearby chair and, for all appearances, went to sleep. Tarren knew the game Ri'kan was playing, on that allowed him to observe all without notice, so he ignored the cat for now. So this was to be his travel companion. He looked gruff and crude, but he would not be one of the emissaries if that were so. Tarren dipped his head at Jack, giving him the respect one give a higher ranked stranger. "Well met, Jack Sisco," Tarren said calmly. "I am Tarren of the Swift-claws. I will be the one accompanying you on this task. "
Final Fantasy Revolution
Fade's Story: Jeremy's lance got slammed into the ground of the fields and was stuck just as Fade was hoping for, it was at this moment that Fade came straight for Jeremy. In an unexpected move Jeremy left his lance behind and jumped back, dodging Fade's attempt at an attack; Jeremy reached onto his belt and took out another piece of piping of a different color and started spinning it. Instead of turning into a lance, it formed and shaped itself into a broadsword that was coated in the same kind of energy as his lance. "I ain't Number 2 fer nothin kid!" Jeremy's insult of his age was well met even if Fade was twenty four and Jeremy was twenty five. "This is where you see Jeremy's strength the most, a broadsword is usually a two handed weapon but as you can see Jeremy has no trouble wielding it with one hand." Don shouted from the side as Jeremy demonstrated by swinging the blade left and right and even spinning it over his head with one hand using the greatest of ease. "Now, feel my power." Jeremy went into a clash with Fade again and was already kind of pushing him back. "Now you'll see..." Up until this point Jeremy had been clashing with one hand every time and now he slowly reached his left hand onto the blades handle as well and almost instantly Jeremy not only pushed through Fade's block but he flung him far into a boulder and cracked the boulder a bit just before Fade fell to the ground. "Damn, that's a separated shoulder..." Don said as he started walking over to Fade. "Jeremy's ability to wield the greatest and heaviest weapons with ease while using one hand gives him the quickness and accuracy to fight fast and quick; then when he really needs the power, he can bring it out whenever he feels the need." Don explained, stopping so that he feet could be seen where Fade's eye level was at now, Don took out a small black box and pressed a red button on it. A green light surrounded Fade and it was warming and cooling at the same time and it seemed to heal any injury that Fade had compiled. "Now then, everyone else seems to be getting done." Don said, if one looked they could see the last of the targets getting destroyed and Jeremy was returning his weapons to their former stage. "Machina Five! Line up!" The Machina Five members scurried to line up... Tarren's Story: "Same to you." Jack said to Tarren and then started for the door. "Sorry, we haven't the time to socialize, we have to leave now. We're cutting through The Wakening Fields to get to The Frozen Lakes and its gonna take awhile, maybe even a whole day." Jack said, and with that he was out of the house and started to walk to the border of FIDO... JACK SISCO JOINED THE PARTY! ...kinda...lol
GreyCat
Tarren immediately started after the man, then stopped. Ri'kan looked at the door Jack left through, then at Tarren questioningly. Tarren grinned waved for him to go ahead of him and drew the Coin of Ancestry from his bag. "Elder, I discovered this item in my pack and I have to admit I have no idea what it does." He looked a bit shamed. Cats didn't like admitting their shortcomings. And not knowing what something did was definately a shortcoming. Glancing to check Jack's progress, he continued quickly. "Can you quickly tell me what it does before I leave?" he requested. Final Fantasy Revolution
Tarren's Story: "Certainly." Elder Mossweave said and then stood up and then grabbed the coin, it suddenly glowed green and then was handed back to Tarren. "There you are." There was a silence, like nothing was even done at all. "I'm sorry? Did you not catch it? Basically when an Elder or faction superior touches that coin some of their power gets put into the coin. If your ever in a tight spot, just flip the coin and catch it then some of my power will be unleashed since I have touched the coin myself." Elder Mossweave explained. "It's a neat little trinket I must say." He said and then bowed to him. "You must be off now Tarren, please make us proud." The Elder explained and bid him ado. radio414
Normally, when someone sounds convincing, they're not really telling the truth. Three years of knowledge, and that was the result of it. Mistrust. SARAA had been on for three years, and each time she was told to do a task, it came with a supposed reward. Cake, for example, was going to be the reward for completing twenty-some logic puzzles that required "giving physics the finger" as a teacher put it. Sure, SARAA had to think without using some of the rules deeply ingrained in her memory, but when the cake was served, it wasn't actually for her. It was for the teachers for "sucessfully forcing SARAA to accept untruths." Extrapolate on that, and one got SARAA's current reasoning. However, still curious about her avatar's physical capabilities, she complied and went with what was almost certainly a scam.
GreyCat
Tarren smiled as the implications of the tool came to him. "Thank you Elder," he said and bowed to him. He gave his mother a quick hug and bowed to his father. He may not see them again for some time, but that was what happened during a dispersal. The young left the family and often only returned after some great accomplishment or when they were about to start a family of their own. Tarren turned and hurried to catch up with Jack and Ri'kan. The different hunter clans had their own unique methods of travel. Canines tended to adopt a steady jog that let them cover miles at a time. Avians had a short distance charge halfway between a lunge and a fall. Cats had two methods. A swift sprint with little ground contact and a fast trot that deceptively resembled a steady walk but cover ground faster than one would think. In no time, Tarren caught up to Jack, who had not gone that far, whether in order to let him catch up or not, Tarren wasn't sure. Ri'kan was pacing Jack with a easy gait and Tarren matched their speed. He considered what to say to the man. How did you start a conversation with someone like him? Final Fantasy Revolution
SARRA's Story: The man smirked just as SARRA passed by him and into the ally, suddenly an electrical net was cast over her mechanical body and started to shock, most likely trying to short her out. Suddenly more of the same dressed men came out from every corner of the ally. "Ya see, we do sell mechanical parts, we just gotta take um first, from robots like you." The man, who was supposedly the leader of the pack. This would be a spot of weakness for any other hunk a junk but not for SARRA and her brilliantly installed Anti-Short Mechanism, she was free to strike at the Junkers, but now she had the element of surprise as well. Tarren's Story: "Listen kid...." Jack started the conversation as all three of them started to increase their speed to that of a hunting party you'd see only in books. "When we get into The Wakening Fields, we'll have to walk, not run. And we'll have to not use any magical powers or draw attention to ourselves, weather or not that includes you and your animal speaking to each other I do not know." Jack explained and then the party suddenly stopped moving, it only seemed like a few seconds but the party had already traveled the seven miles it took to get to the edge of The Wakening Fields. "The entirety of The Wakening Fields is owned and ruled by The Elder Sage; I wish I had my map with me so you could see exactly where we're going but it's a rule of The Iron Lotus to travel as light as possible and I have been on scouting missions through here before and these territories so I had no need for it." Jack explained and then crossed the border...into The Wakening Fields.
radio414
... Fighting requires instinct. Instinct is both perfect and imperfect. For instance, all of FIDO's fighting was instinctual. There was no logic behind it. Just a poorly referenced call to nature. That's why their instinct was imperfect. Instinct as a faction like The Gilded Rose was merely a veneer, behind which was a well thought out plan excecuted quickly. That was perfect instinct. The first thing SARAA had her body do was collapse. It wouldn't be so hard to get back up again, and falling let her Eclipse Gun fall out of it's slot. It even gave the impression that she actually was frightened. She wasn't. Next was slowly grabbing the net thrown around her. The alley was dark, which helped hide the movements SARAA was already trying to conceal. Third was slowly grabbing her gun. Everything had to be slow to avoid provocation. These people seemed to be close to their tipping point. Fourth was arranging her body slowly so that the electric net no longer entangled her. Easy enough. Now the important part. The leader seemed to be behind her. It was crucial to take him out first. Whipping the net off, SARAA directed her body to turn and fling the net over the leader of the pack, shocking him. Next was pointing her gun at him. She assumed that they would scatter, now that she had the proverbial upper hand. Most of them, did. Cowardice was imperfect. Traitors. The only people remaining now had their tools out as makeshift melée weapons. Not enough. However, SARAA didn't want to wast time on eliminating them. "I will be taking my free part now." Taking the net, SARAA left the scum to whatever they needed to do at the present moment. Right now, she needed to finish her assignment. Excuse Me, Gear Master Flix? I found this in my quarters and when I scanned it, it appeared to be of your making. Could you please explain it to me? Back in her room, the actual AI portion of SARAA could not hold back her curiosity any longer. She wanted to know what the strange device was, and how it functioned. She had now displayed the device on a screen she deemed closest to Flix, and was now awaiting a response. GreyCat
I am as non-magical as perfection can be, Ri snorted with his normal arrogance, rippling his sliver and gold fur, but I will attempt to limit my splendor to your level. He brushed past Tarren and flicked him lightly with his tail. Tarren sighed. Just how arrogance could that cat get? But he had a point. His fur for on, glossy gold with silver spots differed from that of a normal member of his species and he almost twice as tall. But still... "My rapport with Ri'kan is not magic, but an understanding of a separate language. Besides, our magic is one with nature, not at odds with it as the skills of so many of the other fractions are." Final Fantasy Revolution
SARRA's Story "That's a very simple question SARRA! That is a Doppelganger Generatatron! You see..." Flix said, picking up the same device that he probably had dozens of in his shop. "When you press this red button it automatically creates a clone of the one who pressed it!" Flix said, all while pressing the red button and effectively making a clone of himself, that looked just like him in every single way. "You see, you can use it multiple times a day but using it more than three times a day may be problematic. There is also a green button that allows you to clone items and weapons but that function will only work once a day." Flix said and pressed the red button again, which destroyed his clone. "When you press the red button again it destroys your clone on the molecular level thus never creating a situation that requires you to fight yourself! The device will work on you because of your human like physique!" Flix explained and then looked around. "Is there anything else?" Meanwhile at the scene SARRA's body was actually out the junkers scattered leaving various parts behind that may be useful if given to Flix. Tarren's Story: "We'll have to refrain from talking as well, for The Elder Sage have higher hearing than most because they are blind." Jack said, he seemed to no much about factions that weren't his own, he was truly worldly and a good partner to have. The party slowly made their way through the forests and fields of The Wakening Fields until Jack stopped and looked around, they were in a slightly dense part of the forest. "This is the exact middle of The Wakening Fields, we'll have to make camp here tonight and move in the morning." Jack said, not giving a reason why but there was really no reason to doubt him thus far, Jack started setting up a big tent and then when the tent was up it suddenly cloaked into the woods as if it were a chameleon in the wild. "Technology is great, if you let it be." Jack said and walked in, assuming that Tarren would assume that there was room for two.
radio414
Interesting... I do have more questions, though. A group of Junkers recently attacked my physical manifest, and when I was able to scatter them, they left behind multiple parts. No doubt, they are from other Gilded Rose members. I'm forwarding pictures to you now. I was wondering just which parts you might want and/or need. The world was full of questions. SARAA learned that early on. Most had gone unanswered. Answers like "You're not ready. Maybe when you have more information we can tell you." were not answers. They were ways to avoid answering a question. SARAA had learned that too. And yet, she still had to find everything. Every answer to every question. It was hard work.
