For the first topic, I believe that Unicorns being allowed in NASCAR is a terrible idea.

 

For the second topic, I don't want to physically write (or mentally think) out expectations as I want the members to control which new members join the club.

 

Also, I am updating the member list, and one lucky person is going to be in the Council.

 

For me, Ice, and the future Council member (check the first post in a few seconds), let's also discuss (in this thread) how we should talk privately to make decisions, or if we should talk privately at all.

The NGP(PSP2) is out there too. It's possible it can beat the 3DS handheld war.

 

Not in the slightest. There is a reason why the PSP has never outsold the DS ever, and there is a reason why Wii/XBOX360/PS3 wars are a ton more common compared to DS/PSP wars.

 

The DS is the best handheld console of this gen, hands down, and will most likely be the best of next gen. There is almost nothing Sony can do to even let the PSP2 compete with the 3DS.

I have had a craving for some intelligent conversation ever since I joined this site. So, if someone wishes to do so; please do discuss your own personal philosophies on any subject. Simply put your chosen subject, or not, and write your philosophy down.

 

My own is society:

 

One cannot appreciate life without living in fear. Through humanities eyes murder is wrong, but through the eyes of someone of open-minded; murder is right.

Some may say that through cultural evolution society has deemed murder to be viewed as ‘bad’ because the motive behind it is never stable, however, today, in this society how can we possibly say that murder is bad?

 

Our soldiers do it on a daily basis all for a good cause and all we do is cheer them on. “Go on! Kill that Viet-Cong! It’s for a better cause”. That would be objectifying the topic without me putting my own personal feelings into it. So if our soldiers do it, what makes it so different from that man who murdered the man who raped his wife? Hm?

That man that put fear into our eyes, that man that stopped other rapists in fear of what may happen to them? If the society we live in is so corrupt how can there be so much balance, for every life there is death.

 

Feel free to object or even prove me wrong, this philosophical view has a lot of holes in it and I would love to stitch them up.

The man that murdered the rapist. May seem justified in some eyes, as it was revenge being taken on a criminal, and said criminal may go and rape more people, so he's still technically "defending innocent lives", even though, as I said, trying to justify murder is really stupid.

 

But what about generic old murderers? You put nothing there that proved that all murder is right. You just tried to justify "sane" murder.

 

What about serial killers, rapists and the like, bro?

Getting even doesn't necessarily protect you from being deemed as bad. I think a good question would be "could the man do anything else besides killing the man who killed his wife?" Is there a better solution, a solution which society would deem as "not bad."

 

War is different. The two forces fighting are not fighting for revenge. They are not fighting because they're angry or jealous. They're fighting for their nation. It is a selfless act unlike revenge which is done for the needs of the person getting revenge.
