Icy
Nice idea, but the shading is horrible.... is there something wring with the eye?
The shading is fine for what it is. That much effort into the blending? The guy deserves some slack. My problem is that the lower beak is not as thick as it could be, it doesn't pop out enough. The wings look more like part of the mane rather than the body and the forelegs could be a bit more dynamic in the positioning. Maybe a little more bird like on the body portion? Regardless I like the effort that went into this piece and great job.
۞Jolteon۞
Yes yes, while all that is very well, shading adds to realism.... But I do agree with you Icy....

۞Jolteon۞
I'm not trying to be rude or anything.... but I don't see ANY shading on the wing....
Demon From The Void
The sprite I took the wing from has no shading on it. And since the light source isn't shining on it their wouldn't be any shadow. And what did you mean in your first comment when you said something was wrong with the eye? ۞Jolteon۞
I see a random white dot above it, probably nothing....
Jappio
Why is it when you ask for CnC I can practically hear you calling my name? =P I can see why people have issues with the shading. Arcanine's shading is meant to be seen really on just plain orange. The black stripes really did help how he looked. Even if what you have shaded is pretty much what Arcanine has, I think it does look iffy. If you told me the body was scratched, I'd say it was done wrong. However Gamefreak did it this way, which makes me question what is the right thing to do. I guess if I had to say what problem I had with the shading mainly, it's the kneecaps. I don't like how the highlight can be right up against the darker shade. Typically there's more of a transition, that middle shade between the two colors. Yet again, Gamefreak made it this way. I'm sure there are other Pokemon that probably do this too in some ways. The way you filled the shade in on the upper right area of the back hip though I would reconsider. That area was covered by black, so you got tricked a little. Yes that black was surrounded by the dark shade of orange, but that was because that is how all the black stripes were.So I think the darker shade should be retracted down more in that area. The beak could be just a little lower I'm think. it doesn't line up right where Arcanine had a jaw and such. A few little bits of extra flair could be added. If the wings do continue to have that tan color from the mane, then maybe make little bits on the wing be fluffy and wild like Arcanine's mane. Little tufts sticking out at the corners or something. Nothing to dramatic or anything, but just a little something extra. The eyes do need a bit of a border around the top side. Since the mane is farther out, they should be overlapping them in some way. Just a simple little brown border to add there.
