Needless to say, XD: Gale of Darkness is my favorite. Best story besides Colosseum, had a good variety of Pokemon, and the best enemy of all time:

I didn't know about the EV/IV thing
[/quote]

Before gen 3, IVs went up to 15, the way they were calculated was different, and they determined shinyness. Shinys could never be decent.

Oh, and they added natures in gen 3, too. That was stupid of me to forget.

EDIT: Also, EVs used to be infinite or something equally stupid, IIRC.

I'm not a nostalgia fanboy like everyone. Platinum was definetly the best.

Black and white certainly incorporates a day and night system, but a whole year round system, witch makes it even more realistic, now what we need is different animations for the pokemon.

Black & White has the Pokemon animated at all times.

Animations when they do the attacks, y'know?
Rattata for instance, he uses scratch, Rattata runs up to the other pokemon (EG Pidgey) and swipes with a claw, not 3 white lines.

PBR did that. You overestimate the amount of space they have for a handheld title - Pokemon seems to keep hitting the upper limit that they have at the time of each game's release, if I'm not mistaken.

And competitive gaming is sometimes such a killjoy.

I can understand that, but not even counting the competitive stuff the introduction of abilities, the attack split, and new moves have made many old pokemon a lot better with some making whole type really useable.

I really hate how people think Platinum is good. Anything GEN IV besides HGSS was trash. Like, they are entitled to their opinion and all, but I absolutely hated it. Storyline was long, boring and stupid.

Why Emerald is not considered one of the best games is beyond me.

The Hoenn storyline is as bad, if not worse than, as Sinnoh.

lol pokemon storyline. All the stories were boring and stupid, even the anime where team rocket spends their entire time trying to get a freaking pikachu.

I don't know anything about pregen 3 IVs, but I do know that there were no such thing as EVs back then. It was basically that you could max out every stat in the pokemon, but you had to raise them through battle from level 1. The new system is much better.

My vote goes to Gold/Silver, I loved being able to go to 2 different regions.
