Time Core [IC] [Started]

Confusion, Shin thought, a miscommunication. He thinks I have insulted his home. He felt himself chuckle and then cursed himself for it. He needed to think and appropriately phrase his answer. "Okay..." He said slowly, his training never prepared him for this, "First things first, I apologize for destroying part of your home. Really, do you think I meant to destroy your home?" He cursed himself again. That came out so badly. It sounded like he was insulting Leon now. "That was phrased badly. What I meant was, was there any reason I would want to destroy this church."

"Second, I didn't insult this church. I think that this church is great for pushing back Demons. Can the barrier move?" THe last sentence slipped out and Shin cursed himself for it. And then cursed himself for cursing himself so many times. "I could leave right now after giving you some other supplies you might want." He had been activating his tubing service to get the supplies he felt they would need. He dropped them off. Sleeping bags, lamps, more food, survival tools, and other items. "I didn't know what you would need so I picked out some things I though you would like."

He took a look at Cat. He liked Cat's company. It was nice to have someone to travel with. But no-Cat couldn't come back up here with more complications. He took out his DNA scrambler-he could-but no. He then threw down blankets and other blankets. "I'm sorry for blowing a hole in the church. Here are some other coverings you can use to patch it up." He activated The Survivor and started pulling up the ladder. "I will be leaving now."

After Aiden climbed back down from putting the tarp half way over the hole he sat back down. Bryson one of the guys he was introduced to earlier asked him what he knew of the time core. "Well I don't know as much as Alex probably does, but my grandfather told me the time core is a device that can reverse the time to any period. The thing is its hidden somewhere out there with the demons, and nobody has any clue where it is. Before the creator of it died he hid it from the world so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands. The only problem is that he told nobody where he put it. So if it was ever needed like right now nobody can find its location."Aiden said as he took a bite out of an apple. "Just so you know Shade is listening in on our conversation. “He said this while looking over to Shade and smiling.

bryson looked over his soulder then looked back at aiden, expecting shade to join the conversation "but do you think we can find it? i mean we dont know what it looks like." he thought for a bit

"and looking at how our church is screwed thanks to captain kirk flying in we cant posbbly find it it less than 3 month right? dont you think we should tell alex that and leon we need to find shelter before the time core?''

bryson begins to think up a bunch of problems *transporting all the food, leons equipment, safety, actually find a church*

"Well Bryson Alex already knows this we talked about it earlier at the store. I have come from far away just to find other survivors, and in that 200 mile journey nearly everything has been leveled. If you find a church it probably won't be in this shape. I think Alex knows more about this then he is letting on, but that just my opinion."Aiden said as he looked over at Alex. "I am sure that Alex and Leon both no how long this place will last before the demon's break in. If we are going to make a move it will have to be early in the morning or midday. Those are the two times period during the day demons are rarely seen, but just cause you can't see them doesn't mean they can't see you."Aiden looked back out into the city and the demons surrounding the church.

Shade heard Aiden talk to Bryson about the Time Core, then state that Shade was listening in. He gave a slight nod when Aiden smiled his way.

He listened a bit more before walked towards the pair. "If I've listened right, then we don't even have three months," Shade said in reply to Bryson. "Because of Captain 'Kirk', as you've called him," Shade nodded towards the silently running craft, presumably with the newcomer in it, "the church is damaged, and Alex thinks it might speed up the deterioration. Besides, with the amount of Demonica chasing us back here, them pounding on the door won't help. I'd say we have a bit over two months, but I'm no expert.

"As for shelter, we're never going to find another intact church, chapel or sacred graveyard. This was almost literally the last one. No cave, grocer or even theme park is going to keep us as safe as this place. The Time Core's another matter. We need that if we have a chance."

"Good riddance," Leon muttered. Then he frowned. Shin was also a PAS. Was it right to send him away. Damn, His conscience was acting up again. He sighed heavily. he supposed he could swallow his... distaste and stomach Shin as much as possible. It was eating brussel spouts. "Shin, Stay," he managed. "I admit I dislike you, but we will have a better chance of survival if we remain together as a group." As uncomfortable as it may be, he added silently.

That awkward deed spoken, he turned to the three youths. "I can find us another church," he said confidently. "Major portions of the internet may be down, but the infrastructure still exists. Satellites in particular. They are solar powered and can act from direct wireless commands. And rigging a wireless transponder is easier than baking a pie" He grinned. "There isn't security system I can't hack. In fact, I programed a good number of them. Give me a day or so, and I can get you every intact church in a hundred mile radius."

Jaeg whistled as he walked, the dusty streets barren of cars, plants, birds or any other sort of life. Dust blew in the air with each just, but never pushed him off his beat- the stocky man kept a steady pace, his feet moving erratically but rhythmically, as if tapping to the beats of his heart. Glossy black glasses hid his eyes, but his face was kept stern, with a slight smile- as if the barren wasteland amused him, even. The glowing pendant on his chest bounced against a pure white shirt, giving off a white glow that didn't seem to cast shadow, its energetic light flickering every now and again in a steady rhythm.

Music entered the scene. Harsh, sharp music, like the crashing of symbols, the twanging of an out-of-tune guitar and a malignant flute piping notes like the scraping of a sword. Three of them converged on him, like an orchestra of hell, circling him like a pack of wolves.

The man gave no sign that he even noticed the intruders, and continued walking and tapping to his own beat.

One struck, lashing with a clawed hand at the man's chest. But where it expected to grasp the man's heart, it caught only air as his passive opponent bent entirely out of the way. Faster than could be seen, the man removed a massive pistol from its holster and held it behind his back at the guitarist, a bolt firing with explosive power into the Demonica's face. It could get only a squawk out before its skull switched concavity in a bloody mist, splatters landing everywhere on the road but the man's suit.

1... 2...

An elbow into another demon's face, and a stylish slide as the flute-player tried to attack from the back. The pistol came back, its barrel a heavy weapon as it struck the creature across the face, sending it to the ground as the man did a quick backflip, while in the air firing his gigantic weapon and shattering the concrete, as well as the torso of the cymbalist. He moonwalked a couple steps back and struck a pose as the last Demonica recovered from the pistol whip and stood against him.

"Dude, you are so out of your funk-level it fails to amuse Jaeg. And I am Jaeg. Mosey on out of here and pick up your groove elsewhere, yah?" he said in a thick accent- though which accent it was, nobody could tell.

The being gave a birdlike squawk, like the sound of a sour flute note, and charged. Jaeg struck a pose and spun, his afro accumulating light all the while

"Get off the dance floor," he ordered as his hair shot a powerful beam of photons directly in the demon's face, erasing most of its body out of existence.

He hesitated for a second to note the silence.

Then chuckled and continued walking, humming a catchy tune.

Alex smiled. It was a good thing to have Leon. He was far to much of an asset to the rest of the group. "Great with computers...and though he doens't like admitting it...great with people..." Alex thought. "I guess your staying with us Shin. In the mean while..." Alex suddenly fell to the ground on his back, writhing in pain. The wound where he had been struck by the Demonica began to open, and that same Demonica who stabbed Alex began to reform and multiply. The last thing he remembered saying was, "I gotta hand it to women..."

Shin looked down at Leon and said, "No. I must leave. Unless you have a source of energy here I can use to fuel up, but you can't spare it. I need my ship. It is my home, nothing else remains my home forever." He smiled sadly, "I was hoping you hope to see me leave. But you probably do. Anyways, I have done what I have always done. Protecting others, giving supplies. If someone else wanted to come with me, they could do anything they needed to do. Probably not. If no one wants to come along, then take care of Cat for me. I will try to find another church. I can hope." He threw down something else. A communicator. Powered by his ship even over long distances. I just hope I find something. Logic told him to leave. Emotion told him to leave. He stepped away from the opening as the ladder finally came back up. The door closed and he took it up so more of the hole could be covered.

Shade only stared as the Demonica that they had killed earlier - the one that hit him and Alex - reformed from the wound it inflicted. He drew his rifle and was about to shoot when he realised.

If it reforms from wounds... then that means...! His eyes went wide before he doubled over clutching at his cheek. The skin writhed and tore beneath his hand.

Not even the stitches could hold the Demonica back as it grew rapidly, pulsating against the resistance before literally exploding from his cheek. Blood splattered all over his hands, and he swear he got some up the nose. Falling to the ground, Shadee got one last look at it, looking exactly the same way as he did the first time he blacked out from the thing.

He had one last, random thought before his vision went dark.

I don't know if it's me or being with them... but I'm picking up an irritating habit of blacking out.

"Merciful Lord!" Leon swore. The demons found a way to pass the barrier. By hiding inside a survivor. Through a wound. Good Lord, what else could go wrong. His instinctive reaction to back away from Alex and Shade. His body however, had other ideas. Unconsciously, he drew his Voltcutter. A bright yellow-gold spark danced on the edge like the horizon at sunrise and ran along the edge like a power saw. His other hand drew on of his micro lasers, the narrow focused beam set to its highest and glowing like a weak star. His guns would be stronger, but he couldn't trust his aim at that range. He was not a fighter at heart.

He couldn't take out both demons, but he could handle one. Or at least wound one. He lashed out. The blue needle star of the laser jabbed into the eye of the closest demon. As it cried out in pain, the gold edge of knife flashed. He aimed for the neck, hoping for a decapitation, but he missed. Instead, the blade cleaved the right arm off. absently, he thought of the scientific value of the limb. But not till later. The demon was still clawing out of Alex. He twisted like his combat teacher drilled him so long ago and lodged the laser in the lower abdomen. Again the demon screamed. It was annoying. He hated annoying things.

His Voltcutter was put out of play in favor of two other weapons. A dancing step avoided a nasty slash form the screaming beast and his guns out. He wedged both muzzles into the beast's gaping jaw. "Shut up and hope God has mercy on your damned soul," he prayed in homage to the religion he turned his back one so many years ago. And he ended it. The discharge of the two pistols, the electric blast of the Flux gun and the energy of the Beam pistol blew the back of the demons head wide open in a spray of gore and bone fragments. Leon bowed his head. "Amen."

Sore as could be, blood dripping from his stomach from where the Demonica stood, Alex knew what had to be done. He made the mistake of falling for it's trap earlier. He wouldn't make the same mistake. He pulled out his energy blades. The Demonica stared at him, laughing as it was attempting to free itself from Shade's face. Certainly that'd kill him if it came out all the way. Alex had a special trait. The trait of shere determination and guts...though at the rate he was going, he woudln't have much guts left - in a literal sense.

The Demonica went to stab Alex again. Alex easily dodged, though wounded. He grabbed the "hand" of it and cut it off with his other hand. The Demonica didn't take this very well, and went to stab him again. Alex evaded and cut off it's other hand. He then stabbed it in both eyes, and pulled them out of it's body before finally finishing it. "That...was awesome." Alex said, smiling and holding his ripped-opene stomach.

Shade blurrily watched the Demonica trying to climb out of his cheek while Alex stabbed it. What a surreal experience. I think I'll need more stitches. He cursed at himself in his mind. I'm being around these guys too long. I'm actually starting to feel emotion. As Alex made the last stabs through its stomach and then clutched his own torn-open belly, Shade pulled the rest of the demon from his mouth and held his hands to it. He felt as if he would throw up soon, all this blood. And a fair amount of it his.

He pressed against the side of his mouth until it felt like he wouldn't lose the bottom part of his jaw, then Shade stood up. The fight was surprisingly well-contained. The only blood was where the two Demonica had entered, and a couple of pews was the only furniture dewstruction. Alex was still grinning like a blood-deprived maniac on high - well, he kinda was - and everyone else didn't do much. Except Leon. The little whizz actually did something, he thought. Not bad. The whole time, he kept his face neutral while he surveyed.

When he was satisfied, Shade slung his rifle back across his shoulders and sat down on one of the upright pews, playing with the multitool.

Aiden was stunned to see the Demons reform and multiply from the wounds in Alex and Shade. He pulled out his beam pistols, and began to shoot any demon that went near him. He then pulled out his sword as one demon went up to the roof, and Aiden followed it up there. He charged at the demon only to be surprised by a blade. The demon then elbowed Aiden in the face not doing much damage, but not doing much damage. Aiden pulled out one of his pistol shot the demon in the heart region, but it wasn't dead yet. Then, he took his energy blade swung it around and decapitated the demon's head. The demon's body began to stumble backwards then fall in the open hole in the roof to the ground below. To make sure it was dead Aiden jumped down slamming the sword directly into the demon to be sure it dies. "Alex and Shade you guys have proven to me that men can also have children."Aiden said laughing, but he could only laugh for a minute as some demons were still living.

"Oh. My. God." Leo started hyperventilating. "I killed a demon. With a knife and a micro-laser. What in God's name was I thinking! I could have been killed! I could have been infected! I could have hurt!" His voice got louder and louder. "What if I forget my self defense class? If that demon was a little bit faster, it would have ripped my throat open! I... I...I" He focused. It was an old trick to prevent panic attacks. Try to list as many of the figures of pie as he could. He slowly calmed by the time he reached the twenty-third digit. In time to chew out the others.

"You!" he yelled at Alex. "I warned you about that wound, now look at it! I'm going to have to stitch it! Stitches! Dear lord, we need to get to a hospital to add to our supplies." He whirled on Shade. "That demon ripped out your stitches too. They need to be redone." Medicine wasn't his strong point, but he knew it more than demon slaying. "You and Alex lie down now." He glanced around. "Aiden, you stitched up Shade last time, right? Help me drag these bodies over to my cave." He gestured at the demons. "After that, we can start the treatment."

Shade sighed as Leon went psycho on him and Alex, becase it was apparently THEIR fault that the stiches had gotten ripped. He almost seemed more upset about that than the fact that two demon-spawn erupted from their bodies. He gave a withering look with his eyes at the little braniac. "If we lie down, will you shut it? Today's been bad already. The same demon tried to kill me twice, after it was triple tapped. Things don't get more !@#$ed up than that."

Aiden heard Leon's orders. He shot a demon in the head 5 times before he went to grab Shade. He pulled Shade to the cave, and then went back to grab Alex who was somehow able to fight. He picked up Alex who was bleeding heavily, and carried him back to the cave also. "Leon did you know these creatures could reproduce by just simply cause an injury to your body, or are they somehow finding a way to grow stronger?"Aiden asked since he has never seen this happen before.

"No never," Leon said. "To tell you the truth, I don't know much about the demons. I have been focusing mostly on surviving an gathering equipment. I made a mistake in ignoring the demon's biology. A mistake I intend to remedy." He waved his hand to encompass the bodies of the dead demons he had him collect. "Admittedly, life sciences were never that important to me, but we have long passed the time we did things we liked." He popped the medical kits. Gauze, disinfectants, needles, protectant, accelerants, inhibitors. He sighed and tried to remember his two years of basic medicine. He hated medicine. He turned to Alex and Shade with a grim look.

"Let me make this clear," he started. "I know the basics of some medicine. I have some idea of what I am doing. But if you make this hard for me by complaining or moving about, I will shoot you." He drew his Flux gun for emphasis. "This thing has a stun setting. True, field tests reported numbing of the limbs, pain, headaches, disorientation, nausea, spontaneous loss of motor control, uncontrollable bowel movements and a few other side effects, but you can live with that, right?" He smiled.

When Shade saw Leon hold up that stun gun and list out the side effects, that smile actually scared him. And not much ever scares Shade.

"Alright. Deal. We don't complain, we don't throw hissy fits, we don't get stunned, right?" He thought for a few seconds. "Ah well. Even if you do shoot us, I've had enough of," he started to imitae Leon, "'limb-numbing', pain, headaches and nausea' today. What's a bit more?" He guestured towards Leon. "Where do you want us? You're the only one who knows the way around here."

Shin had flown off. He looked at his sensors and it indicated that there was a massive amount of energy concentrated about 30-100 miles north west of his location. He radioed HQ-the church, but he was now referring to it has HQ-that he had found a massive energy field, but there was no reply. The bangs from earlier. Oh, well. I'll find out what it is. I need to refuel. He went to the source of the energy and found that it was a nuclear reactor. But there were a massive amount of Demons there. And then Shin hatched a plan. He knew how he could get some information. And he would get it from the source. He just wished HQ would respond.

Alex was worried. His life lied in the "capable" hands of Leon. He knew Leon would do his best to keep him and Shade alive. Before Leon began to get to work, Alex managed to say, "The scriptures...they're in the fourth passage in the left tunnel..." He figured he should tell them this if he were to die. This way, they at least had a fighting chance.

"they entered the f***ing church man"
he thought hard "ok people are injured or whatever but we need safety... leon we gotta find churches and we gotta find it fast."
he grabbed a walkie talkie, "im heading out and looking for one first hand im not sticking around here, ill be on radio channel 3."
he put on his blade runners and dashed out in a panic "things really are worse than i thought"

"Bryson!" Leon yelled. But the boy was gone. "Perfect. Just perfect. Were we ever that young and impulsive," he muttered at Alex. He lay out the tools he needed in a easy to reach order as he considered Alex's scripture comments. Before speaking, he dropped several needles in a dish of alcohol to clean. "Aiden, you start on Shade in the meanwhile."

"I don't know whether you doubt my skills and are planning for something nice to be read at your funeral, think you a blessing or are just plain babbling," he remarked. Without warning, he sprayed alcohol unto Alex's stomach to clean the wound them followed with a dose of inhibitor to prevent bacterial growth. "Either way, I'll check it out when I'm done." He drew a needle, already threaded and held it up to the light. "God, imagine if all cuts were treated by shoving a piece of metal through the wounds. Barbaric."

bryson started to get a signal off his walkie talkie but the voice wasnt anyone he remmbered from the church... or no it was, for a while.
"captain kirk!"
he picked up his radio, while grinding around zipping up buildings and swinging from place to place with his yoyo
"hello? this is bryson from the church you blew a hole in, do you copy?"

Shin was trying to communicate to HQ when he intercepted a transmission from someone. He recognized the voice as a man named Bryson. "Bryson!" He called out. "I need your help. I have a plan, but I will need someone else." He sent Bryson the coordinates and said, "Please help. It is a nuclear generator and there is a large amount of Demons here. But I have a plan. I will capture one with your help. And then I can use..." He paused. The DNA Scrambler had made headlines when he stole it and he didn't want anyone to know. So he just said, "I have a plan to extract the information. Can I count on you?"
