[PG-13] Neo Duel Academy: Twilight Invaders Arc 1 - The Approaching Invasion [Started/Accepting via OOC/IC Thread]

Suddenly a man in a black robe and mask hopped out of the forest. He pointed his duel disk at the boy and a large red barrier shot out around the two. It was impossible to see through, Black blobs floated through it like a giant, upside-down, bowl/lava lamp. Only a few moments later, the field bursted out. But then the whole thing vanished. The boy was on the ground with large wholes in him. Most were claw marks, some were bite-wounds. The mask man turned and walked away, down a path that seemed less-walked. A light red aura escaping from his mask, like mist.

[Zextra]

Caden's eyes widened as he saw the boy fall to the ground. He shivered for a moment before taking a breath. Folloing that, he walked out from behind the bush as he confronted the masked man. He looked down at the boy, who was severely injured (this isn't PG-13, is it...), then turned back to the man. "What did you do?" he asked slowly and softly, still shaken from the horrible sight.

The masked man stoped when he was a little down the trail. [i]"Caden? What is he doing here? Did he follow me? Or did he just walk in on this? This is not good!"[/i] The Masked man thought, his mind racing. He hid his duel-disk in his cloak and made sure that his hood covered his hair. [b]"I am sorry that you saw that, but I have heard what I wanted to hear out of him... now I must leave, taking your life is not part of my agenda today. Following me would be a grave mistake!"[/b] The masked man warned. His mask still had the glowing red mist coming out of the eye-wholes. He turned and began to walk away.

[Dementuo]

"Hold on." Raize said. Raize had seen the boy running, and had followed him. "I didn't think that anything would happen on this island now, but I guess some things never change." Raize said sarcastically. "If you want to leave, then duel me. Or, better yet, I'll duel you as you escape." Raize said, one foot already on his Duel Board. "Obviously, you won't just stay here, so how about a compromise?" Raize asked. "You win, I'll let you go. No strings attached. I win, you stop right there, and you tell us who you are." Raize said, as he loaded his deck into his Duel Disk. "So, what say you? Will you take the risk?" Raize taunted.

[Premier Alexander Romanov]

Meanwhile, several explosions go off in the woods a ways away...

[color=#FFA500]"Do do do, do, do. Another one bites the dust..."[/color] A man with spiky blond hair, orange angular sunglasses, a sleeveless black T-Shirt with a strange "R" on the front, a peculiar red Duel Disk, grey jeans, and combat boots sings as he walks through the smoke. The moment he says "dust", a Obelisk Blue student falls to the ground, defeated.
[color=#FFA500]"Do do do, do, do. Another one bites the dust..."[/color] Another student, a female Ra Yellow, drops to her knees.
[color=#FFA500]"And another one's gone..."[/color] Another Ra Yellow, this time male, collapses.
[color=#FFA500]"And another one's gone..."[/color] A female Obelisk Blue keels over, unconscious.
[color=#FFA500]"Another bites the dust..."[/color] Yet another Obelisk Blue student, this time in senior clothing, staggers and stumbles before joining his comrades.
Some smoke clears to reveal a Slifer Red with XX-Saber Gottoms on the field in Attack Mode.
[color=#FFA500]"HEY!!!"[/color] The man declares, pointing at the duelist. [color=#FFA500]"I'm gonna get you too!!![/color]
Another explosion goes off from near the man, and Gottoms is destroyed. The Slifer Red kid flies through the air and crashes into a tree, knocking him out. The smoke behind the man blows away to show what has been causing this devastation: a giant black and orange robot with a strange spear and some sort of cannon-like attachment on his back, which folds back into a backpack-like device. Several other monstrous shapes can be seen in the smoke, as well as a set of glowing pillars. The man lights a cigarette as the rest of the smoke goes away, his monsters and the pillars going with it, to show that, in all, 20 students have been defeated by this guy, most likely all at the same time.
[color=#FFA500]"Another bites the dust..."[/color] The man smirks as he walks away, grinning insanely and humming the classic Queen song, leaving the students to be recovered by the faculty.

[Zextra]

Caden looked up as Raize appeared, confronting the masked man. "Raize, you dumb*ss" Caden thought as he stood there, still shocked. "You saw what happened to him" he yelled to Raize as he pointed to the kid on the ground. "yet you still want to duel him?!" Caden announced in disbelief. "But now that it's come to this, I'm not going to let you do it alone..." he said defiantly, raising his arm. "If you're going to duel, I'm not being left behind!" he stated as he brandished his duel disk.

[Dementuo]

"Caden." Raize said. "Did you forget what I'm capable of, in these past years?" Raize asked. "He may be powerful, but so am I." Raize said. "And besides. I've got Stardust watching over me. I'll be fine. Remember... Stardust doesn't die. It stops death with its own sacrifice, and returns, just as a phoenix." Raize said, rather poetically. "But I'd be fine with you dueling by my side." Raize said, now looking at Caden. "Alright, Caden. Lets take care of this guy quickly, and get back to our dorm. We wouldn't want to be late, now would we?" Raize said, in a purposely arrogant tone. He turned back to the masked man. "So what's it gonna be?"

[Techi☺]

The Masked man turned at Raize. Then looked back at Caden. His voice distorted, by something. [b]"As you wish, you'll get your duel here and now."[/b] The Masked man cuckled slightly as he set out his right arm and a small field of Red and black appeared under it, it grew and then popped open to reveal a Duel runner that was pure black with glowing red blobs in the design. He sat on it and placed his Duel-disk on it. [i]"I'm not sure how long this will last... or if these two kids could take me or not, I just have to make it... if not, then there is no hope for me..."[/i]

[i]I don't know if anyone else shares my opinion, but explosions in the dead of night rarely bodes well,[/i] Lucia thought to herself, jogging in the direction of the racket that had awakened her just as she was drifting off to sleep. She had barely even spared the time to throw her jacket on before running off to investigate. She knew it was a stupid idea to go off in the middle of the night without alerting anyone, but she wanted to get a thrill from [i]something[/i], just in case it was something exciting as opposed to purely dangerous and stupid.

The sounds had long since faded, but she was still confident that she was going in the right direction. There wasn't any major smoke rising into the air, so she ruled out a fire or actual destruction, and this only heightened her curiosity. Brushing through trees dismissively, she soon tripped and sprawled on top of a cold, fleshy...BODY!?

She stifled a scream with her hand. letting out a small sigh of relief when the body groaned. Okay, so it was merely an unconscious student in the middle of the woods. That was only a fraction less disturbing than she expected.

As she looked around, she saw that this boy hadn't been the only one, and there was no less than fifteen similar cases. "Huh, now that's just..." she paused at a particularly foul scent, then relaxed. "Just cigarette smoke," she muttered, before realizing what she had just said. "...hm, I guess I could walk this way..." she muttered and began following the scent warily.

[CrystalCyae]

"Try as you might, your attempts are in vain." A distinctly feminine voice chuckled in the darkness.
"Oh yeah! Speed Warrior, ATTACK!" Yelled a Silfer Red Duelist. The monster leapt foward, then bounced back. A small iron pole stood in a position blocking the monster from hitting it's target behind.
"Attack, Royalist Knight! (Un-important Custom Monster)" Yelled a Ra Yellow Duelist. The monster hit the same pole.
"Attack, Theif of the Night (See Above ())" Shouted an Obelisk Blue Duelist. Again, the monster bounced back, but the pole slowly faded.
"Att-" Several students began.
"No." The voice interrupted. "My turn!" A hand moved out of the shadows. "Attack, One Hundred Eyes Dragon!" Called the voice eerily. The Dragon leapt foward eagerly, knocking several students aside and destroying their monsters in the process.
The Duel Disks glowed before winking out, showing 0000 on the screens.
In the shadow, a blue line of light flashed.
"Perfect. 15 duelists in all. 15 more causilities the Academy doesn't need. But they will be plenty more tonight."

THE NIGHT BEFORE

Endymion Jumped. Who wouldn't, if someone appears right next to you from shadow? He regained his composure quickly, and fired a question. "Wait.... How'd you know I wish for normal parents? I never told anyone that!" He almost allowed himself to panic. He tried to keep that a secret, knowing the sort of things he might suffer if anyone knew he had Twilight Invaders for parents. Then suddenly someone walks up and knows exactly how he feels about the situation. He took a deep breath. "But sure, you could keep me company. Afterall, if what you say is true, we both feel the same way, even if about two very different things."

PRESENT

Enymion shot up from his bed, blinking. He could have sworn he'd heard explosions outside. [i]"At this time of night?"[/i] He wondered, glancing at the bedside clock. He got out of bed, and pulled on his clothes. He may as well check it out. It was something to do. And someone could be injured. Endymion wasn't to stand for that. He went to wlak out the door, but back stepped, and grabbed his Duel Disk from the bedside. He slotted his deck into it, and strapped it to his left arm. He wasn't going out in the middle of the night without protection. Taking a deep breath, he left the dorm.

He walked along the path. Everything was so eery at this time of night. And cold. He pulled his jacket tighter around him, and kept walking. The sounds had faded a short while ago, but he tought he was still on the right track. At least, he hoped he was. Currently he remembered the way back, but if he went to far he'd be here all night. At that thought, he sped up.
Something loomed in the darkness. A small mound. Endymion was rather puzzled. He thought he knew where he was, and he didn't recall any mounds. He advanced slowly, and nudged the mound with his foot. To his surprise, it moved. He held up his arm and clicked a button on his duel disk. It flashed briefly, and Endymion stifled a scream.
It was a body.
Clicking the button again, and holding it closer, Endymion sighed with relief. Merely unconcious. A huge relief.

[Dementuo]

"In that case..." Raize said, pushing off. "I'll start." Raize said. "Draw." Raize continued, as his deck shuffled, he drew six cards, and picked out one from his hand. "First, the Speed Spell Overboost. This adds 4 Speed Counters to my total for the turn. Then, my Speed Counters become one." Raize said (SPC: 4). "Since it's the first turn, I still get a bonus, since I gain an additional Speed Counter either way." Raize explained. "Next. Speed Spell - Dragon Calling." Raize said. "I discard a card from my hand, and remove three Speed Counters..." (SPC: 1) "...And I get to summon a Dragon-Type tuner from my deck. I'll grab my Stardust Lung." Raize said, as a small, long, thin, chinese-looking dragon appeared (Level 1). "The monster I discarded was Stardust Afterimage." Raize said (ATK: 0/DEF:0. "When he's sent to the Graveyard, and I control a Stardust monster, I can summon two Stardust Tokens." Raize explained. (token: Level 1) "Now, I summon my Debris Dragon." Raize said. "Because of this, I can revive the Stardust Afterimage in my Graveyard." Raize said, as a small Stardust Dragon Look-alike appeared, which called forth a white-armored warrior which had many afterimages following it. "Now, I'm tuning my Level 4 Debris Dragon with my Level 3 Stardust Afterimage and one of my Level 1 Stardust Tokens." Raize said. "[i]Clustering wishes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Take flight, Stardust Dragon![/i]" Raize said, as the three monsters collided in mid-air, and the large dragon emerged from the light. "Now, because of Stardust Afterimage's effect, I receive two more Stardust Tokens." Raize said, as his field filled once more. "So now, I'll tune my Stardust Lung with my Stardust Token." Raize said, as the small dragon and the second token repeated the same process the previous three monsters went through. "[i]Clustering hopes will call out to a new speed's horizon! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! The power of hope, Synchro Tuner, Formula Synchron![/i]" Raize chanted, as a race-car looking machine appeared. "His effect! Once per turn, I can draw a card!" Raize said, as he drew. He looked up at the sky for a second, then back at the duel. "...Clear Mind!" Raize shouted, as he sped up past both Caden and the masked man. "I'm tuning my Level 2 Synchro Tuner Formula Synchron with my Level 8 Synchro Monster Stardust Dragon!" Raize said, as Formula Synchron flew forward, and created two rings that Raize passed through, creating a pink slip-stream over Raize's Duel Board. "[i]Clustering crystal dreams will open the door to a new evolution! Become the path its light shines upon![/i]" Raize chanted. "Accel Synchro!" Raize said, as he pulled out a blank Synchro card. Suddenly, the text, image, and everything else appeared on the card. Raize then vanished along with his entire field, after going through a few more rings that appeared, and closed behind him. He then reappeared behind Caden and the masked man. "[i]Be born, Shooting Star Dragon![/i]" Raize declared, as the massive, cosmic dragon appeared out of the rings. It flew up into the sky, and the night suddenly shined as bright as the sun for a few seconds. "Since I can't attack during the first turn, I'll set a card, and end my turn." Raize said.

((The Night Before))

[color=#800080]"I know because I can sense it in your soul."[/color] V replied as they approached the dorm. V's cloak then wrapped around her again and contorted her body, shrinking her down and changing her shape until she was simply a black cat with the same hairstyle as she had normally, though now in mane form, and faint purple lines running across her black fur. She rubbed her head against Endymion's leg, then looked up at him with purple eyes that still had the black sclera of a Dark Signer, wanting to be picked up.

((Present))

[color=#800080]"And you will not harm another as long as I am here."[/color] Another feminine voice announced.
V stepped from the shadows and extended her arm out. The gem on her wrist glowed brightly, and a strange Duel Disk made of glowing purple surfaces appeared above it. Her Deck rose out of a hidden pocket and inserted itself into the Duel Disk.
[color=#800080]"I see you run an Infernity deck."[/color] V stated before smirking. [color=#800080]"Perfect. That's exactly the same kind of deck my boyfriend runs. And I haven't lost against him once."[/color]

The man kept walking until he suddenly stopped. [color=#FFA500]"No use trying to hide. I know you're there. Come on out."[/color]

[Renzoku Kira-]

Aiden was standing on the edge of the boat going at high speeds toward the island where the Duel Academy stood. [i]So this is the new Academy. They sure spent more money this time around to enhance the structure.[/i] Just as he thought this Aiden heard explosions coming from the Island. "So looks like your slow driving has caused me to miss some of the party. Driver speed this boat up I need to reach that island as quick as possible!" Aiden yelled at the boat driver. He then turned his attention back to the island. "When we arrive take me to the back section of the island so I will not be noticed by students on land. As he said this as the boat bounced on a wave nearly knocking Aiden's briefcase overboard. "Watch it you! Inside this briefcase are cards more valuable than your whole life. So unless you want to be my slave control your ship." Aiden's temper was rising. As they approached the back of the island Aiden's orange duel disk with black stripes activated. He quickly grabbed his briefcase, and took off into the outer part of the forest hoping he wasn't spotted by the Duel Academy Guards.

Caden took an oval-shaped object from his bag and connected his duel disk to it, causing it to transform into a winged Duel Board. He stepped on and skidded forward. "I'm next!" Caden shouted as he swiped a card from the top of his Deck (SPC: 2). "Typical Raize, starting out like that" he thought. "Now, I'm summoning Cosmic Gem - Turquoise Plasmer! (Level 1 - ATK: 0/DEF: 0) Next, while I control another Cosmic Gem, I can Special Summon these!" Caden declared, sliding 3 more cards onto his Duel Disk. (Emerald Mantis: Level 1 - Tuner - ATK: 400/DEF: 900)(Opal Transport: Level 4 - ATK: 1700/DEF: 1450)(Crystal Stag: Level 4 - Tuner - ATK: 1600/DEF: 1100). "Now, I'm tuning the Level 4 Opal Transport to my Level 4 Crystal Stag! [i]The formation of stars brings forth a new life. Become the guardian of the night! Burst through, Crepuscule Deoxy Dragon[/i]!" Caden shouted as a rainbow-colored, shadowy dragon formed in the sky. "Now, the Level 1 Emerald Mantis will tune with the Level 1 Turquoise Plasmer! [i]The gathering gemstones of the world combine to form the true element. Become the gateway to the new world! Arise, Diamond Synchron![/i]" Caden's two new monsters burst out of blue portals. "Now..." his Duel Board started to glow. "Clear Mind!" he shouted as he zipped past Raize and the masked man. "[i]The reunion of starlight merges the aurora to the gale. With diamond gates the night bursts through. Become the glowing atmosphere! Accel Synchro![/i]" Caden's Duel Board continued to accelerate until it vanished into thin air. Soon after, it zoomed out from behind, revealing a new dragon. "[i]Experience the legend, Twilight Aura Dragon!!![/i]" the giant blue dragon roared as sparks of stars twinkled around it. "With that, I'll set one card and end my turn" Caden said.

(Night Before)

It was getting late so Jackson said "Maybe we should do this another time." He then walked away and went into his room. He was getting ready to fall asleep when he thought [i]If only that stupid boat could have got here earlier, I would of had time to duel Lucia[/i]

(Present)

Jackson woke up in the middle of the night because he heard a loud noise. He saw the girl from yesterday, Lucia running out into the woods. He followed her right into the centre of the woods. There was a really foul smell of cigarette smoke in the air. As he walked up to Lucia where she stood still he saw a dead body just laying in the ground. Then he looked up and saw more dead. "What on earth happened hear?" asked Jackson.

The masked man started his turn by drawing. Bringing his hand to 6 cards. He grinned as his plan came together smoothly. [b]"I Set four of my cards face down, I normal summon one 'Blood Dragon Spawn of Dark Realm'."[/b] The smaller-sized red dragon appeared on The Masked man's side. [i]"These two students havn't seen my plays yet, my cards may be rare and could pin-point who I am, but as long as no one here has another oppurtunity to see Hiro play these cards, I should be all set!"[/i] The masked man thought. The Duel runner was going slower to adjust for his opponents. [b]"I activate Blood Spawn Dragon's effect to special summon my 'Young Dark Dragon of Dark Realm', the last card in my hand."[/b] The red mist grew darker as it became black clouds that was coming out of the Duel runner in cirular patterns. [b]"Now, I Tune my 'Young Dark Dragon of Dark Realm' with my 'Blood Dragon Spawn of Dark Realm' to Synchro summon my one and only, 'Blood Red Dragon of Dark Realm'!"[/b] The Giant red dragon came to the field. It flew beside the masked man, it's scales were the color of blood and its body slightly grew bigger from the power boost. [b]"Now, I activate my Blood Red dragon's effect, by sending two Dark Realm monsters from my graveyard to the out-of-play zone, Blood Red Dragon gains an additional 200 attack points, that, and the extra 800 he gains from Young Dark dragon's effect. My Dragon currantly stands tall, at 4000 attack power!"[/b] Blood Red Dragon lets out a roar, as if to signal that he understood. The masked man looked forward, the duel was getting heated. [b]"I end my turn!"[/b]

Jackson heard some noise going on nearby so he sprinted through the forest to try to find out what was going on. [i]This would never happen at the old academy[/i] He thought to himself as he sprinted through the forest. He was still wondering who could of done this when he got to a point in the forest where he saw a person who was standing there looking down at all of the students. [i]Could she have done this[/i] He thought to him self. "Hey you there who defeated these students," he screamed into the distance.

[Heavens Guardian]

Rosa looks at Her Deck. She Hears a knock at her door. Its a ra-Yellow saying to her there i a deul going on better go there. So i looked around and around and couldn't find the deul but the breeze felt good though my flowing hair. so i walked around and i still couldn't find the deul. Then i saw these Sliver-reds loking for it and saying it was a mask man. I really wanted to see it so i ran and ran looking all over i still couldn' find it. I was tired so i sa in wet grass. I couldn't find the deul. I was a failure i said to myself but then all of a sudden some Slifer Challeges me to a deul. I declined but when i did he started choking me with his cold grip hands. I Fought back as much as i could but i could get free. He let me free and challege me to a deul again i accepted.

The Masked man looked at his Duel runner and back at Caden and Raize. He sped up a bit to reach the clearing before they do. He came speeding into a field of grass and he noticed a girl and a slifer dueling, they were not to far away and the masked man was getting bored. So he came Barrelling out of the forest and popped a wheelie. He chuckled loudly. The Duel Runner just pased the slifer-red kid and everything went slow. The masked man looked over and the girl, his mask's mouth had sepereated with his laughter, but it molded to his face and it wasn't visible. The Giant Red Dragon following close behind The Masked man, had ran into the Slifer-red, sending the boy flying across the field. The engine in the Duel Runner grew louder as he speed down past the field and into another patch of forest.

[Heavens Guardian]

The masked man seemed very familar to her but she didn't know his name so she said thank you in a small voice and left. She went to her Dorm and remebered is name Hiro. She tould her gossip giving friends that she knew who the Masked deulist was. The word quickly spread about who the masked deulist truely was. the students heard it quickly from gossip but the teachers learned it from tere classes as well. After a while i felt said For Hiro. I caused him so mch pain and he will have even more pain and sorrow. I will not left this happed. Rosa heads up to the princibal and challeges him to a deul. she wins hiro leaves with no trouble. If i loose i get suspend as well. I accepted even though i knew this was going to be tough....

"Hmmn?" The voicce hummed from the shadow.
"Perhaps I am. Perhaps I'm not. What would you [i]try[/i] to do to me if I said 'Yes'?" The owner of the voice then stepped out the shadow.
Her hair was swept up under a blue baseball cap, and her emerald eyes sparkled in the night.
"And don't tell me." She continued. "That you want a duel. I could win. As a Twilight Invader, I reign supreme over you and your kind. The spineless weaklings who defend a place they hardly know. Defending a hidden object you've never heard of. Defending simply because you can. I will eleminate all of you who stand in my way."
(OOC: Speech much)

[Chaos Number: Card Master]

Everything was messed up in Jackson's head so he tried to make sense of things. [i]She is a Twilight Invader, what ever the hell that is. And she is defending a hidden object which I don't know about[/i] He thought. He just stared for a moment. Then he thought about what he should ask. "What are the Twilight Invaders? What are you Guarding? Who is your Leader?" all of these words bursted out of Jackson's mouth. He needed to know what all of these things were. They are important maybe even the reason he was invited to Duel Academy.

[CrystalCyae]

The woman laughed, and eery sound that flooded the small area.
"You don't know? Foolish Child!" Sheled, flashing brilliant white teeth.
"I can only answer 1 question. We are not guarding anything. Children always mis-interpret. YOU are the one defending an object. You don't know where it is, or what it is, yet by defending this Academy YOU defend it."
She closed her eyes briefly. "Now, if you leave, you will be safe.... For the moment. If you stay, you end up like these 15 souls." She nudged one of the unconcious duelists with her foot. "I suggest you leave." Her eyes opened again, with a glint of pure eveil and malice shining from within.

Lucia had continued to follow the trail but she suddenly froze when she heard a man's voice speak, informing her that her attempts at tracking had not gone completely unnoticed. After weighing things over, she shrugged and stepped forward into view, looking the man up and down as she did so. Her hair blew a little in the wind, but she casually flicked it out of her eyes.

"Who are you?" she wondered seriously. "What are you doing?" She doubted she'd get a straight answer from anyone who spent part of the night knocking twenty people unconscious and smoked cigarettes. Irrationality at its finest.

[Premier Alexander Romanov]

The man turned around to face Lucia, still smoking a cigarette. [color=#FFA500]"The answer is very simple. There is a sextet of very rare, very powerful, and, most importantly, very dangerous cards somewhere on this island. You, the rest of the student body, and the faculty are the guardians of these cards, whether you want the job or not. My compatriots and I simply eliminating anyone who would dare to oppose us. You see, there was a nice little root beer kegger out in that clearing, but I wasn't invited. I love root beer. The students weren't very pleased when I showed up and crashed their party, though, if they had only invited me, I wouldn't have had to crash it. So, one of the students, the one hosting the party from the looks of it, got the smart idea of challenging me to a duel. He never got a second turn. So the rest of the party challenged me all at once. Much more difficult than normal, 20-to-1 odds. A few of them got lucky and even managed to damage my Life Points. But they were too easy.
