[center][size="3"]Welcome all role-players to "The Official Role-playing Guild". This thread was created to help members with anything related to Role-playing as a whole. This thread will consist of a Team, which are a few chosen good Rpers, the point is for the betterment of the Role-play section as a whole. One of the first things we shall be doing is going through and rating OOC threads, if you wish your Role-play to be Rated, then you must fill out the application seen below. This will give the members who wish to role-play a simple but good idea on how to gauge the Rp's that they may wish to join. The rating's will be a group decision from the "Team" and will have a series of guidelines that they will judge the rp on. From their the "Team” will also try to point out the good idea's and the bad ones, this will help to improve upon the members RP as a whole. This thread will also serve a purpose of Teaching Rpers, and or at least showing examples of good Rp related information. The list will remain open on the numerous topics that might be collected in this thread; I hope to touch on every aspect so that everyone wishing to role-play can have the best knowledge on role-playing that they can.[/size]

These things have been known to fail, so I honestly doubt this will 'improve' the role play section. As a forum vet I will of course say good luck and I still hope this picks up, as it DOES help the few who realize they need improvement. But uhm, yeah. Doubt this'll really work.

Thanks Fenrir, Its not only about the ratings or teaching but it will also serve the purpose of a thread with guides on how to become better. Weather the Ratings and the Teaching parts fail It will still remain as a Help thread!

I like the idea, and honestly think it should be stickied, but stickied doesn't automatically mean active. For example, look at Airspace's "Character Rating" thread. Three posts and gone. There hasn't been a post since.

The problem is that as long as there is an influx of newbies wanting to RP, the quality of the RPs will suffer. Even with the advanced clause, said newbies will make a four line post and continue as if nothing will happen. Sure, they're not breaking any rules, but they're not providing detail where there could be.
Then they try and make their own RP. There's the same amount of detail in their plot as there was in their posts. Little to none.

Still I may use this as a model in the future.

[b]13/15 Spelling/Grammar:[/b] Only found 1 or 2 mistakes in my viewing.
[b]17/20 Character Creation:[/b] I liked that he gave so many factors that you could have for your app, I feel like that's the info a trainer card would have lol. But I still would have liked to see something a little extra.
[b]18/30 Originality:[/b] Although the plot of "scientists/a group of people wanna awaken a pokemon and want to destroy/takeover something" has been so many times; I give this RP points just because it's the first pokemon RP I'd even consider joining.
[b]20/35 Exposition:[/b] Although the plot could have been more independent, original, and more well thought out. I like the way he explained everything so that members wouldn't be completely lost.
[b]68/100 Overall:[/b] Although this RP is well written and the application process is good, I cant give it a higher score just because of its unoriginal plot; Overall I recommend this as a good medium-level ranged RP for those role players who just started but don't want a to complicated RP [/spoiler]

[color="#006400"]I found a lot of spelling errors in this, either the mispelling of words or the simple mistake of not capitalizing the first letter . . . or doing so when you didn't need too. All very simple mistakes, but you made a lot of them none the less.[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]Found some pretty bad repeating errors, but nothing that would keep you from understanding the plot.[/color]

[color="#006400"]A basic application if I've seen one. Nothing more than the basic of a pokemon app there isn't anything missing, but still more that could've been added.[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]The app is pretty basic for pokemon role plays but I have not actually seen a specialism slot on the pokemon rp Apps I've seen, so I'll only take a few points off of this category.[/color]

[color="#006400"]Pokemon RPGs, along with certain other roleplays, are far from being original. Because of this it is hard to make a very interesting one that no one has ever seen before, sadly I've seen something like this before . . .[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]The plot seems pretty basic, most of it was just re-explaining the plot of the unknown that was already in the game then adding another tunnel that connects all the ruins and then saying their protected by a more powerful pokemon. It wasn't the most original it could be but at least it wasn't just the pokemon Anime itself. [/color]

[color="#006400"]I can honestly say I didn't get interested in this at all. You take too long to build suspension, if any, with the way you paced it. I'd suggest rewording the entire thing so you can build it up quicker and faster. Also those who would join this roleplay most likely have already played the pokemon games and/or watched the anime so explaining where everything is . . . is kind of moot.[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]The delivery of the plot was pretty well delivered; I knew I was about to delve into ruins and not just run around with my head off. However, I didn't feel like these ruins should drive the entire pokemon world to them, but that's just my own opinion. I didn't feel like I could relate and be brought into the pokemon world easily so a rewording maybe in order.[/color]

[color="#006400"]I saw very little, if any, spelling errors. As to be expected there was some grammatical errors but can be so easily over looked it doesn't matter.[/color]

[color="#006400"]Besides the common things in every application this one adds a wee bit more. 'Techniques' adds a bit more depth into the game by bringing in the idea of having skills you can use outside of combat. While 'Other' inadbles you to flush out your character more before even begining.[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]I really like the other section; it says to me that the biography is needed and important and then if you'd like you can still tell us more or add more if you want; gives more power to the Role Play in my own opinion. The techniques section makes me feel like "oh yeah, I can swing a sword, but I can build a fire too!" It makes the RP not seem so black and white and more in depth. [/color]

[color="#006400"]Well I would have to say this is very original, seeing as it was thought up by the Game Master and not taken off of anything presently in the media. If this has an entire world to it then it would get a perfect score.[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]I have seen Role Plays that have the same kind of flow but I have never seen this rp idea before and that's what we need here; role plays that aren't just like hey we're here and we have to do this and by the way you guys have weapons.[/color]

[color="#006400"]The way the opening is written out is very good. Making you wonder what the point of the game is, yet keeping you interested the entire time. I'd join this roleplay if I hadn't already before it came to us.[/color]

[color="#FF0000"]I loved the way this RP plot was delivered. When I started it I was thinking "Well if this world's so great why is this an RP?" I honestly thought this RP was going to be about modern life at first lol. I really liked how it drew me in and if I had some more time I'd join it straight away![/color]
